Body Count turned up the intensity at Chicago Open Air. On arguably the most attended day of the festival, Ice T and company wasted no time in getting loud by covering “Raining Blood” by Slayer (turned into a mix in “Raining In Blood/Postmortem”). Hell or Highwater opened up the Main Stage on day one of Chicago Open Air performing songs from their debut Vista. The set included singer Brandon Saller going into the crowd and then carrying the band’s guitarists on his shoulders while performing a song.

Seether is currently on tour all over the US and venturing overseas later this year promoting their latest album Poison The Parish. Korn closed out the main stage on day two of Chicago Open Air. I’ve seen Korn perform many times and while the smoke and strobes were going wild, I can honestly say I have never seen the band perform with that much focus and fire before. It was an impressive end to an amazing day.

Seriously, I haven’t heard that many women scream for a band at a festival in years. Whatever it is that Kiss has, they still got it and Chicago loved it. Kiss closed night one of Chicago Open Air on the main stage and performed for over 90 minutes. Click any photo below to open the gallery.

Is Corey Taylor a fan of Channel Awesome? OF COURSE!
Stone Sour performed on the main stage on day three of Chicago Open Air. To give you an idea of how much the crowd loved this band, a unanimous and vigorous chant of “F*** Nickelback” broke out from the general admission crowd between songs with zero prompting from anyone on stage. It quickly became a festival wide chant to the hilarity of the band and everyone backstage in support of Stone Sour.
Currently promoting their latest album Hydrograd which was released less than a month ago, the band is continuing on the road with new tour dates and performing more festivals including Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, and Shiprocked.
