Like A Storm performed on night three of Shiprocked on the open water after a day at Half Moon Cay in The Bahamas.  If anyone says that digeridoos don’t belong in rock, kindly point them to Like A Storm.  Although the sea was truly getting wild that night and it even caused some of the band to lose balance on stage, it didn’t stop the show.

It was a special night on Shiprocked for Stereo Satellite as it was the band’s first live performance.  Combining members of Adrenaline Mob, Disturbed and Rockstar Supernova, Stereo Satellite aimed to make a good first impression.  Lucas Rossi said that this is the last band he will ever be in and he gave the impression that he’s all in with this new group.  Here’s hoping they can make 2018 a year to remember with their best foot forward starting on Shiprocked.

Sin City’s premier rock and metal festival, Las Rageous, has released an updated performance lineup with the addition of hometown heroes Otherwise, along with goth-rock royalty New Years Day. Coming to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center for its highly anticipated second year on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, the Live Nation-created music festival will take over two square blocks, in the heart of iconic downtown Las Vegas.

Otherwise and New Years Day join an already exciting lineup of both rock and metal icons and impressive newcomers. Festivalgoers can expect to hear fan favorites and possibly new music from Sin City mainstay and Saturday night headliner Five Finger Death Punch (who recently released their greatest hits album, A Decade Of Destruction), and an eclectic set from A Perfect Circle that may include their brand new song, “Disillusioned.” Additionally, fans hope to hear new tracks from NWOBHM staple Judas Priest, legendary hard rock group ClutchPop Evil and Saxon, who all have albums set for release in the coming months. There will be memorable spectacles from In This Moment and Ghost; killer performances from Black Star Riders (featuring members of Thin Lizzy), masked rap rock kings Hollywood Undead, and DED, who just released a music video for their new single “Hate Me,” along with music from metalcore heavyweights Underoath and Beartooth, Los Angeles breakouts VYCES and Bad Wolves, up-and-coming blues-rockers Joyous Wolf, and Vegas’ own Adelitas Way.

Keeping up with Las Vegas’ long history of birthing some of the  rock and metal genres’ most impressive breakout acts– including Las Rageous performers Five Finger Death PunchOtherwise and Adelitas Way— Las Rageous has teamed up with KOMP-FM and Smash Magazine to provide local bands the opportunity to open this year’s festival. To enter in the ‘Battle of the Fans,’ bands must register before January 31 at http://ymlpsend6.com/mmbbaaaebwusafayjmapaeuhqb/click.php. The first round of dates will be held on March 9 and March 10, and finals will take place March 24 at Hard Rock Live, located on the Vegas strip. Rules and regulations can be found at http://ymlpsend6.com/mmbhaxaebwusatayjmalaeuhqb/click.php
With only 10,000 tickets available for purchase, Las Rageous offers the rare opportunity for fans to enjoy a festival experience in an intimate outdoor setting. Located just off Las Vegas Boulevard at Third and Carson Streets, Las Rageous will take over two city blocks of the historic downtown area. All ages are welcome and doors open at 4:00 p.m., with headliners taking the stage at approximately 10:00 p.m.

Las Vegas’ Adelita’s Way performed for the second time at Shiprocked on the full day at sea.  In the midst of the all-day party that was the final full day of Shiprocked, the band addressed their music to specific groups including those that protect our country in the line of duty.  Many people who met the band on the boat said that Rick is a big proponent of saying “Vegas Strong” and it’s clear he loves his city and supports his fellow Vegas family.

After leaving Half Moon Cay on day three of Shiprocked, Beartooth closed out the night on the deck stage.  Many passengers felt that Beartooth had one of the best performances of all Shiprocked 2018.  Maybe it was the setting, maybe it was the intensity from Caleb Shomo.  Regardless of the reason, they tried to bring the boat down.

Papa Roach Post New Music Video For “Born For Greatness” on Apple Music

Papa Roach have revealed the new music video for “Born For Greatness” exclusively with Apple Music“This video is to showcase to the world that no matter your struggle and/or adversity, you are born for greatness,” says Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix.

Featuring galvanizing performances from Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, Jen Bricker, and Jean Sok – three talented individuals who refuse to be limited by physical challenges – the video is a testament to the limitless possibilities within all of us.

Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham was born with spina bifida, a birth defect of the spinal cord. Fotheringham has gone on to become a professional WCMX (wheelchair motocross) athlete. He completed the first ever wheelchair front flip while touring the world with Nitro Circus.

Jen Bricker was born without legs and her heart on the opposite side of her chest. “Never say can’t” is her motto. The professional aerialist has toured the world and performed with global superstars including Britney Spears.

Jean Sok is a breakdancer with only one leg. Employing “b-boy” style techniques, Sok incorporates his crutches into his moves, using them as an extension of his arms. He gained international acclaim as a performer for Cirque Du Soliel’s Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour and Michael Jackson One.

Directed by Bryson Roatch, “Born For Greatness” is the latest single from the band’s ninth LP, Crooked Teeth (out now on Eleven Seven Music).

Papa Roach are set to tour with A Day To Remember in February and March before launching into their North American headline tour with support from Nothing More and Escape the Fate on April 5th. All dates are listed below.

PHOTOS OF STARSET AT SHIPROCKED.

ON THE CARNIVAL LIBERTY ON JANUARY 22 & 24, 2018.

On a space themed Shiprocked, it only made sense to invite the astronaut rockers.  Starset’s first performance closed out night two on the deck stage under the few stars showing through the cloudy midnight sky.  The band is now celebrating one year since the release of their sophomore album Vessels.  Opening with “Satellite”, the band played as we sailed toward Half Moon Cay in the middle of the night.  Click on any photo below to open the gallery from their first performance of the journey.

On the final night of Shiprocked, Starset performed in Carnival Liberty’s theater stage.  I have seen Starset live many times, and I can honestly say this was the best I had seen them.  Maybe it was the additional house lighting from the theater, maybe it was the theater acoustics themselves which allowed their ample bass to fill the room better.  Whatever the reason, the entire band seemed on point at right at home for one of the most memorable concert experiences I’ve ever had.  Click on any photo below to open the gallery from their second set of the cruise.

Vessels is available online.  Scroll below to listen to several songs from the album.
