Godsmack To Release New Album When Legends Rise April 27th: Listen To “Bulletproof” Now

GODSMACK

RETURN APRIL 27 WITH

‘WHEN LEGENDS RISE,’

THEIR FIRST ALBUM IN FOUR YEARS AND DEBUT ON BMG

LISTEN TO “BULLETPROOF,” THE ALBUM’S FIRST SINGLE HERE

BAND SET FOR MAJOR U.S. FESTIVALS IN APRIL, MAY AND JULY

20 years since the release of their debut album and 20 million album sales later, GODSMACK are an even stronger animal than before. The proof is in the grooves of WHEN LEGENDS RISE, their first album in four years that’s due out April 27 via BMG and marking their debut on the label. The album is available for pre-order now (here) with instant grat track, “Bulletproof.”

Arriving to radio today, February 28, the first single is “Bulletproof,” which shows the band–Sully Erna [vocals, guitar], Tony Rombola [guitar], Robbie Merrill [bass], and Shannon Larkin [drums]–doubling down on their combination of tightly wound riffs, rhythmic fury, naked emotions and pushed-to-the-edge vocals, all fired up with melodic precision and tight songcraft. An official music video is coming soon.

What inspired the songs on WHEN LEGENDS RISE? “It was just about evolving as a songwriter,” says singer and songwriter Sully Erna. “I wanted to stretch my wings out even further to use all the experiences I’ve had with writing different types of music over the years and applying that to find a way to introduce a newer, fresher, more mature sound, but still maintaining the power of Godsmack.”

WHEN LEGENDS RISE, the band’s seventh studio album, was recorded at their headquarters (GSHQ) in Derry, New Hampshire and produced by Erik Ron and Sully Erna. Sonically intense and layered, it pushes the band forward and kicks off with the title track which begins with tribal-style drums and lethal riffs. “When Legends Rise” speaks to “the band and our journey,” says Erna.”It’s been an amazing road we have traveled through all the ups and downs. But being able to conquer those challenging times with alcohol and egos and everything else that can tear a band apart is what we are the most proud of.  To be able to stand strong again and do it better than we ever have. It’s about burning it down and building it back up. It’s the Phoenix rising from the ashes!”

Emotions run strong on “Bulletproof.” Says Erna: “I always write about things that have affected me on an emotional level. I think everyone knows that about me by now. But if I choose to do that, I have to be prepared to be honest and vulnerable. And so the challenge is figuring out how ‘exposed’ you want to be with personal information. But I’ve also learned over the years that for me, being transparent, even to the point of embarrassment sometimes, is so much better than holding it inside and extending that pain longer than you need to. ‘Bulletproof’ is just another moment in my life when I allowed myself to be vulnerable and got hurt. It’s this kind of carelessness from other people that eventually hardens you and forces you to put up that wall to protect yourself.  So when and if they circle back around and try to get back in, you make yourself bulletproof.”

Another album standout is the anthemic “Unforgettable” with its towering, massive sound and some special vocal guests. “It’s my favorite song on the record,” says Erna. “And thanks to an organization I work with called C.A.T.S. (Community Alliance for Teen Safety) that focuses on helping young kids stay on the right path, I invited a bunch of kids from the DERRY Middle Schools of New Hampshire to sing with me which I feel really brought this song over the top! They were incredible, and the song is Unforgettable!!”

WHEN LEGENDS RISE is also highlighted by the powerful string-laden ballad“Under Your Scars.” “I come from a very broad background in music,” explains Erna.  “My great uncle was a famous composer in Sicily, and my dad is still a musician and runs an Italian band in the Boston area. So as I’ve grown over the years as an artist, I’ve regressed back to ALL TYPES of music and instruments I love working with and composing. So I called upon my dear friend Irina Chirkova to lay down the cello parts and Zvezdelina Haltakova (both from Bulgaria) did all the violin parts for me. And I really feel that this specific track will be something people will gravitate towards since it’s the first real ballad we’ve put on a Godsmack record. I think like it or not, they will gravitate towards it to explore it out of curiosity. But again, it’s about taking risks and expanding.”

WHEN LEGENDS RISE follows the success of 2014’s 1,000 HP, which entered the Top Billboard 200 chart at #3, with two #1 debuts (Billboard Top Alternative Albums: #1 Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums: #1).

One of rock’s most explosive live acts,GODSMACK will perform at seven U.S. festivals, between April 27 and July 14 (see the dates below), to be followed later this year by a major outdoor amphitheater tour (details TBA).

About GODSMACK:

Godsmack stand strong as 21st century hard rock titans. With an unbreakable spirit and diehard work ethic evocative of their hometown, the Boston quartet fought hard to secure a place in music history since first smashing their way on to the scene in 1998. To date, they’ve notched a staggering six #1 singles at mainstream rock radio, including “Awake,” “Straight Out of Line,” “Cryin’ Like A Bitch,” and “I Stand Alone.” Moreover, they’ve enjoyed 20 Top 10 hits at the format-the most of any act since February 1999–as well as four Grammy nominations, and were winners of The Billboard Music Awards Rock Artist’s of the Year in 2001. Selling over 20 million records worldwide, the band has also unleashed three consecutive albums at #1 on the Billboard Top 200-namely Faceless [2003], IV [2006], and The Oracle[2010]. This places them in league with Van Halen, U2, Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, and Linkin Park who have also enjoyed the same streak. Moreover, the accomplishment on the road remains staggering with headlining sets everywhere from Mayhem and UPROAR to Rock on the Range. Godsmack released the successful and acclaimed 1,000 HP in 2014, and their domination continues with the release of When Legends Rise, their seventh full-length album in 2014. They still stand alone.

Stone Sour Announce New Spring 2018 Headline Tour Dates

Stone Sour Announce New Spring Headline Tour Dates

With The Bronx, Palaye Royale and 68

Internationally acclaimed rock band Stone Sour has announced new spring headline tour dates.  The trek features support from The Bronx, Palaye Royale and 68 on select dates and includes festival stops at Welcome To Rockville, Fort Rock, Carolina Rebellion and Lunatic Luau before wrapping up at Columbus, Ohio’s Rock On The Range. Tickets for most dates will be available beginning March 2nd at 10am local time, with select dates available beginning March 9th. For complete details and ticket availability, please visit www.stonesour.com/tour.

HYDROGRAD, the new album from Stone Sour, rocketed onto the charts this past June, debuting at #1 on three Billboard charts: “Top Current Albums,” “Top Rock Albums,” and “Top Hard Rock Albums.”  HYDROGRAD also debuted at #8 on the “Billboard 200,” marking the band’s fifth consecutive Top 10 debut on that chart.  Furthermore, HYDROGRAD debuted at #5 in the U.K. (the band’s highest debut ever in that country), #2 in Australia (highest debut ever), and was Top 5 in Germany, Japan, and Switzerland.  The album features, “Rose Red Violent Blue (This Song Is Dumb & So Am I),” which broke into the Top 10 at Active Rock Radio, and the smash “Song #3”, which was #1 for five straight weeks on U.S. Active Rock Radio chart.  For tour dates and more information on Stone Sour please visit www.stonesour.com.

Stone Sour unleashed their eponymous debut album in 2002 and was immediately confirmed as one of the most significant hard rock outfits of the 21stcentury. The self-titled release earned RIAA gold certification while singles “Get Inside” and “Inhale” each received GRAMMY® Award nominations for “Best Metal Performance.”

COME WHAT(EVER) MAY followed in 2006 and proved an even greater accomplishment with a top 5 debut on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 and a #1 entry onto Billboard’s “Rock Albums” chart. The acclaimed album spawned still another GRAMMY®-nominated single in “30/30-150” on its own way to RIAA gold certification.  COME WHAT(EVER) MAY unleashed a series of rock radio classics, including “Sillyworld,” “Made of Scars,” the #1 hit, “Through Glass,” which spent seven weeks atop Billboard’s “Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks” while also reaching #2 on “Alternative Songs” and the top 40 on the overall “Hot 100.” The song’s companion video was also a favorite, now with over 49 million individual views at YouTube alone.

Stone Sour’s most recent all-original releases, the monumental HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES – PART 1 and HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES – PART 2, both made top 10 debuts on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 just six months apart from one another – the band’s third and fourth consecutive top 10 chart entries. The two-part concept album yielded a string of multi-format rock radio hits, including the top 5 favorites “Absolute Zero,” “Do Me A Favor,” and “Tired,” the latter of which ascended to #1 at Mainstream Rock outlets nationwide.

HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES drew widespread critical applause with ArtistDirect hailing “PART 1” as “a milestone for Stone Sour and for modern rock music. It’s on par with Alice In Chains’ ‘DIRT,’ Metallica’s MASTER OF PUPPETS, Queens of the Stone Age’s SONGS FOR THE DEAF, Soundgarden’sSUPERUNKNOWN, and any other game-changing albums you can think of.” HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES – PART 2 earned equally great acclaim, including placement on Revolver’s “Top 20 Albums of 2013” and Loudwire’s “Top 10 Rock + Metal Albums of 2013” ranking. The Guardian, in its four-out-of-five starred rave, praised Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor’s “remarkable transformation into heavy music’s premier polymath and renaissance man” while further hailing the album’s “towering melodies and moments of radio-friendly majesty, the band’s trademark straddling of the divide between metal and commercial rock sounding increasingly adroit.”

2015 saw the arrival of STRAIGHT OUTTA BURBANK, an unprecedented EP in which Stone Sour take on five immortal songs originally performed by such iconic artists as Bad Brains, Iron Maiden, The Rolling Stones, Mötley Crüe, and Slayer. The EP is highlighted by a stunning rendition of The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” featuring distinctive guest vocals from Lzzy Hale of Atlantic recording group Halestorm, STRAIGHT OUTTA BURBANK is available now at all DSPs and streaming services.

Stone Sour is: Corey Taylor (vocals), Josh Rand (guitar), Roy Mayorga (drums), Johny Chow (bass), and Christian Martucci (guitar).

Parkway Drive Premiere New Song & Video “Wishing Wells”

PARKWAY DRIVE PREMIERE NEW SONG & VIDEO “WISHING WELLS

AUSTRALIAN METAL BAND TO TOUR U.S. THIS SPRING

Today, Australian metal band Parkway Drive share their new single “Wishing Wells” and its accompanying video. The track is Parkway Drive’s first new offering since their massively successful and critically praised 2015 album Ire.

Opening with ominous vocals and haunting acoustic guitar, “Wishing Wells” soon erupts into a furious and full-throttle metal assault. Captured in one shot, its starkly filmed video marks a deep departure from Parkway Drive’s usual high-production aesthetic. The video features front man Winston McCall giving a powerful close-up performance of “Wishing Wells” with fierce intensity.

According to Parkway Drive—frontman Winston McCall, guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling, bassist Jia O’Connor, and drummer Ben Gordon—“Wishing Wells” is a meditation on the pain and confusion of loss.

“‘Wishing Wells’ is the compression of grief into song,” says McCall. “It’s attempting to place blame when there is none, seeking answers where there is only emptiness, and ultimately trying to find some kind of reason and meaning to justify the ultimate loss we will all be faced with in life. This is how this chapter begins and will end.”

Known for their masterful live show, Parkway Drive will return to the U.S. for a spring headlining run that begins on April 26 in Nashville.

“”N.S.T.B.” is a clap back to anyone who acts like they are better than you because they live a different life style. Personally, this has often come from people I have been close with not giving me any space to breathe, much less letting me forge my own path in life without passing judgment. It also touches on how easy it is to buy into the negativity and the difficulty in cutting ties with them.” – Bloodline

Bloodline recently released their lead single, “Faded Memory.” Watch the video here:

Underøath Return with Erase me April 6th; New Song “On My Teeth” Streaming Now

The audacity to profess your true self is a virtue. Moreover, the transparency to outwardly proclaim a significant shift in the sentiment you once held so sacred is both courageous and compelling.

Underøath release Erase Me, their sixth studio album and first since 2010, via Fearless Records on April 6.

The confirmation of what is one of rock music’s most anticipated and speculated about reunions arrives with Underøath’s first new song in nearly a decade, “On My Teeth”.

“We’ve had success and we’ve come through a lot of waters,” explains drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie. “There’s been 11,000 things we’ve been through so you would think, almost rhetorically, ‘What do you need now?’ All of us are finally in that place in our lives where the only thing we care about is inclusion for everybody—for the world. For me, exclusion is the scariest thing in the world. And I think Underoath coming back now with a new record—which none of us thought was possible—we want people to know that this is your music and you can feel however the fuck you want about it. I just want to prove that we are doing everything in the most honest way we ever have. This is the healthiest we’ve ever been as a group of people, as musicians, and in our worldview.”

Gillespie’s quote touches on the narratives behind the 11-song release: addressing the dire circumstances that led to the demise of the band, the ability to, now, be true to themselves and with their listeners as well as the individual band members disenchantment with religion.

“We took a step away and then we realized that we are a family,” adds singer Spencer Chamberlain. “We do miss it and we miss each other. We made the decision to never play again as Underoath and then we let that sit a couple of years. Band members rebuilt themselves and their friendships–and then we rebuilt the band.”

Erase Me was written and recorded over the summer of 2017 with producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, 3OH!3) and mixed by Ken Andrews (Failure, Jimmy Eat World).

Erase Me tracklist:

  1. It Has To Start Somewhere
  2. Rapture
  3. On My Teeth
  4. Wake Me
  5. Bloodlust
  6. Sink With You
  7. Ihateit
  8. Hold Your Breath
  9. No Frame
  10. In Motion
  11. I Gave Up

Bad Wolves Donating Proceeds To O’Riordan’s Three Children

New Dates Announced with Five Finger Death Punch & Shinedown

“Bad Wolves’ interpretation of “Zombie” is moody like the Cranberries’, though the instrumentation sounds clearer and more cutting.” – Rolling Stone

Bad Wolves’ cover of The Cranberries’ intergenerational hit single “Zombie” continues to dominate rock and metal charts around the globe, with all proceeds from track donated to lead singer Dolores O’Riordan’s three children.

Today, the band reveals the official “Zombie” music video, directed by Wayne Isham[Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Motley Crue]. It’s a powerful testament to the Cranberries’ singer, who was set to record with the band on the day of her tragic passing. The new video features an unreachable woman fully-realized in O’Riordan’s iconic gold from the original “Zombie” video. Throughout the clip, she and frontman Tommy Vext try to touch each other but cannot. She leaves golden handprints with each attempt to touch.

In an exclusive statement, O’Riordan’s UK Publicist Lindsey Holmes, provided further insight into what the Irish singer thought of Bad Wolves’ version of the track: “Dolores was excited about plans to guest vocal on a cover version of her all time classic “Zombie” by American rock band Bad Wolves. Although very different in style to the original, Dolores said she thought that the cover “was killer” and she was intrigued by the simple but effective couple of lyric changes that make the cover version as relevant to current world events as the original was to the events that inspired her to write the song in the early nineties.”

“For me Dolores was the strongest female voice in Rock for the past three decades,”explains Dan Waite, Managing Director Europe for Eleven Seven Label Group and the artist’s personal friend. “I have very bittersweet feelings about the last two voice messages Dolores left me on the day she passed about recording ‘Zombie’ with Bad Wolves. She was telling me Bad Wolves version was “awesome” and she could not wait to get into the studio, however ultimately her voicemails have brought comfort to her Mother Eileen and her family as they heard her messages joking and talking passionately about music, her children, and future plans.

Her plans were cut short far too soon but the relevance of “Zombie” and the legacy of her music continues to span generations. Bad Wolves’ Tommy Vext explains what compelled him to cover the song; “Her lyrics, confronting the collateral damage of political unrest, capture the same sentiment we wanted to express a quarter-century later. That is a testament to the kind of enduring artist Dolores was, and will remain forever.”

Originally released in 1994 following the IRA bombing of Warrington, The Cranberries’ “Zombie” hit #1 across the globe, including on the Billboard Alternative Songs charts. The song returned to the top ten on the US Rock Charts shortly after news of her passing was announced. That same week Bad Wolves released their version of “Zombie” in her honor. In just four weeks, the cover has garnered over 3 Million combined streams (across YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music) and continues to climb the charts. Bad Wolves “Zombie” is currently Top-20 at U.S. Rock Radio and sits atop rock and metal iTunes charts around the world.

Bad Wolves have also announced upcoming U.S. dates with Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown.

Starset Unveil Augmented Reality App For Live Shows

STARSET UNVEIL AUGMENTED REALITY APP

AT LIVE SHOWS DURING US HEADLINE TOUR

Watch Video For Making of App Here:

Visionary sci-fi rock band STARSET recently unveiled their Augmented reality app while on their current headline tour across the US and Canada. The new mixed reality app developed by the firm Juniper Jones includes space inspired visuals that fans can access using the app throughout the interactive live show.  The unique experience features live music synced to the AR content as well as a pre-show countdown clock.

STARSET have one of the more unique stage shows with lead vocalist and engineer Dustin Bates designing much of the automated show technology elements himself.  The band’s performances follow a space-themed narrative that center on science and technology and its potential affects on society now and in the future.

Kevin Robinson, Juniper Jones CEO  explains the collaboration, “Working with Dustin and the band on creating an AR experience around STARSET’s current tour was an interesting challenge from both a storytelling and technical POV.  Creatively, how can we start an experience that excites the audience prior to Starset performing the first set, and how is it structured so that over time we can continue to expand into a larger narrative?”

Live concert venues are generally not ideal for out of box AR experiences. Robinson explains, “Typically you have a ground plane / environment to track but at a concert, there is no ground! Only a sea of excited fans. We came up with an alternate solution that pre-calculated the ground plane, used the phones internal Gyro, thus gamifying a manual location marker.   It’s like a virtual concert beach ball, and depending on where you are in the venue when the ball / spaceship reaches you, it’s your turn to engage. It’s that same idea, but with jet propulsion blasters.”

The STARSET app is available here for download:

iOS – https://apple.co/2En82N7
Android – http://bit.ly/2DS1MMc

STARSET is currently on tour performing music from their latest album Vessels, which debuted at #11 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart last year. The band and Bates also collaborated with Marvel Comics to release a STARSET themed graphic comic book last Fall. STARSET recently reached a massive milestone by surpassing 1 Billion views on YouTube, which is in the same league as bands such as: Foo Fighters, Muse, Bring Me the Horizon and AWOLNATION.

The band’s 2014 debut Transmissions, not only introduced us to STARSET with its hit single “My Demons”, but also The Starset Society, which they are a part of. The thought provoking, anonymous-like group of real-world rooted scientists promotes and publicizes science and technology.

Starset is: vocalist Dustin Bates, bassist Ron DeChant, guitarist Brock Richards and drummer Adam Gilbert.

Their current single “Ricochet” can be heard here:

Canadian punk, power-trio, The Allovers, have joined Anxious & Angry Records to release their debut album, Yer Guises, on May 18th.

“We are stoked to have Ryan Young and the rest of the Anxious and Angry crew behind us for our debut release. Their dedication to the punk community is unwavering and we have nothing but respect for what they’re doing. We look forward to a busy 2018 and are thankful to have them help us get our music out to as many people as possible.” – The Allovers

Formed in 2011,  the Edmonton/Calgary hybrid, made up of guitarist Matt Pahl, bassist Paul Arnusch (The Wet Secrets, Faunts, The Whitsundays) and drummer Garrett Kruger (Fire Next Time), has a way of combining genres that’s unique to them, all the while writing songs that either make you think twice or not think at all.

With titles like “Dog Team Cooperation,” “Hitchcock Twist,” and “Rinkydink” (a song written from the perspective of a breaking down lawnmower as a comment on the cheapening of the modern world), Allovers have levels that belie their lighthearted exterior. With punk structures reminiscent of The Ramones, melodies and harmonies cut from the same jib as Burt Bacharach or The Everly Brothers and sonic textures entering similar territory as Thurston Moore, The Allovers are guaranteed to hook you, move you, then keep you singing along for years to come.

in Milwaukee, WI on February 17th, 2018.

Nashville has become a surging city in terms of rock bands and The Dead Deads are a group who have been proving themselves on the road.  Combining several sub-genre styles from punk to garage rock to..um…space rock(?), the band has a presence on stage and knows how to captivate a crowd with the music.  At The Rave in Milwaukee the crowd took to The Dead Deads almost instantly, even though this was only the band’s second time in the city.  From the sounds of it, they should come back because the cheese-heads loved them.

Black Label Society Debuts Music Video For “A Love Unreal”

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY DEBUTS
“A LOVE UNREAL” MUSIC VIDEO

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, led by American guitar icon Zakk Wylde, has released another brand new music video for the single “A Love Unreal” from their latest LP, Grimmest Hits. The video was directed by long-time collaborating director Justin Reich.

Black Label Society recently soared into the charts with their new LP via Entertainment One, Grimmest Hits. The LP landed at #4 on the Billboard Current Charts, the highest charting LP since Order Of The Back released back in 2009. Grimmest Hits reached #1 on the Billboard Hard Music, #1 Independent, and #2 Rock Charts.

Black Label Society is in the middle of a hefty batch of North American tour dates spanning coast to coast in support of the all-new LP. Support is supplied by legends CORROSION OF CONFORMITY on all dates. Select tour dates are seeing support from EYEHATEGOD and RED FANG.

Black Label Society released their tenth full length titled Grimmest Hits, on January 19, 2018. The new effort is the highly anticipated follow up to Billboard Top 5 charting titles Catacombs of the Black Vatican (2014) and Order of the Black (2010). In-between then and now, Zakk Wylde released Book of Shadows II, the long awaited follow up from his 1996 solo debut of the same name, which debuted at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

Wylde, now reunited with Ozzy Osbourne after an eight-year break, has played a handful of dates with whom he refers to as “the boss,” with no signs of slowing down. The reunion kicked off over the summer with a highlighted performance at CHICAGO OPEN AIR with high profile festivals like LOUDER THAN LIFE and OZZFEST MEETS KNOTFEST on deck to close out the year.

Wylde will stay on the road beyond the Black Label Society dates in 2018 reunited with “the boss” on the “No More Tours 2.” The two-year stretch will take place this spring with dates in Mexico, South America and Europe. The tour’s first U.S. leg, which will feature Stone Sour as the opening group, starts in Allentown, Pennsylvania in August and wraps in Las Vegas in October. Tickets for the North American dates are on sale now.

One part invading horde and all parts traveling carnival party, Black Label Society traverses the world powered by caffeine and cacophony. BLS engages and inspires audiences everywhere they go, on every radio dial they burn, inviting all comers to join in and participate in their brotherhood and sisterhood of hard rock and vigor.

Now ten studio albums deep, with solo records, Ozzy shows, and Zakk Sabbath tours all kicking ass simultaneously, Black Label Society rides ever forward, fist held high.
