The Smashing Pumpkins (or Smashing Pumpkins) are an American alternative rock band from Chicago. Formed in 1988 by frontman Billy Corgan (lead vocals, guitar), D’arcy Wretzky (bass), James Iha (guitar), and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums), the band has undergone many line-up changes. The current lineup features Corgan, Chamberlin, Iha and guitarist Jeff Schroeder

Cyr is the eleventh studio album by American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. The album was released on November 27, 2020, by Sumerian Records, and is the second part in the band’s Shiny and Oh So Bright series. Self-produced by vocalist and guitarist Billy Corgan, the album was preceded by the release of ten of its songs as singles.
