Ohio-based pop-punk/emo band The Ohio Hopefuls have unleashed their newest track, “Tiger Pride”.
A band with roots stemming from two decades ago, high-school friends Cody/Cory Ridenour and Brandon Shepherd reconnected last year to revive The Ohio Hopefuls and give it new life. The result is a pop-punk, emo-adjacent throwback sound that is reminiscent of stalwarts like Hawthorne Heights as much as it can be in the same breath as newcomers such as Driveways.
The band has geared up for lots of new music for a while now with other singles like “Purple People Eater” and “Sidewalk Chalk”, but “Tiger Pride” resembles a more mature, grounded sound featuring power chords, emphatic vocal delivery, and angst-riddled lyricism. With synth and guitar riffs abound, it’s more than a surface-level emo track – this is the work of weathered rockers with newfound ambition. A fresh signing to new label Eleven:Twelve Media, The Ohio Hopefuls, now with vocalist Nick Magoteaux and bassist Colin Parent in tow, are chomping at the bit to release a new album, due out very soon.
