POWERWOLF Bring Metal Mass, Bless A Proposal In Maryland

Werewolves. Metal. Moonlight. Sinners. Saints. Crowd surfing. The Fillmore in Silver Springs, Maryland was a night to remember from Powerwolf as the German power metal band brought metal mass to the east coast. Powerwolf’s North American Tour 2024 is only the second tour the German metal titans have ran through the United States, but with several tour dates sold out and a venue like The Fillmore packed, it’s obvious there are more werewolf cultists than expected.

After the release of Wake Up The Wicked, we got to hear many new songs along with the big hits from over 10+ years. While dancing along to “Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend”, a proposal happened in the crowd followed by a “SHE SAID YES!” chant. Attila Dorn wished them well for their future and then gave everyone an additional chorus of the song for everyone to sing along.

You sing and scream at a Powerwolf show. You have fun with the band. You understand what metal can be. A filled venue in Maryland understood all that. I want more metal fans to appreciate what metal can be as an experience. Powerwolf demonstrate that metal doesn’t have to be funeral serious all the time. It can instead be filled with werewolves and jumping. I’d rather be a jumping werewolf than at a funeral.

I love Powerwolf. The 2024 album is great. This was the second time I’ve been able to see Powerwolf live, and I hope to see them at a festival someday. Scroll below for photos and footage from the Maryland performance.
