ON THE CARNIVAL LIBERTY ON JANUARY 22 & 24, 2018.
On a space themed Shiprocked, it only made sense to invite the astronaut rockers. Starset’s first performance closed out night two on the deck stage under the few stars showing through the cloudy midnight sky. The band is now celebrating one year since the release of their sophomore album Vessels. Opening with “Satellite”, the band played as we sailed toward Half Moon Cay in the middle of the night. On the final night of Shiprocked, Starset performed in Carnival Liberty’s theater stage. I have seen Starset live many times, and I can honestly say this was the best I had seen them. Maybe it was the additional house lighting from the theater, maybe it was the theater acoustics themselves which allowed their ample bass to fill the room better. Whatever the reason, the entire band seemed on point at right at home for one of the most memorable concert experiences I’ve ever had.
