“We’re all family now. That means even if we release a bad album in the future, you still have to love it.”
That was a line from Jonny Hawkins between songs during Nothing More’s set, who are on tour with Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch. Their set contained many of the songs from their latest Grammy nominated album The Stories We Tell Ourselves as well as a demonstration of the Scorpion Tail. It took Jonny a couple tries to climb on top of the beast, but he made it. As a result, everyone in the crowd who hadn’t seen Nothing More before then dropped their jaws and most likely spilled their drinks when the Scorpion Tail raised up.
I have seen Nothing More perform at least once a year since 2013. I can honestly say this was the most energetic I have ever seen the band. The band’s tour manager even took the bass so Daniel Oliver could pick up a drum. The performance felt like everything was stepped up a notch, and it stole the show for the night.
