20 Years of Sacrament
It doesn’t take much for Lamb Of God fans to show up for a home state performance. Adding Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg to the lineup made sure everyone grabbed their cleanest black t-shirt and lined up at The Dome early.
Into Oblivion, Lamb Of God’s twelfth studio album, was released last month. Over the past month the band has once again received praise and accolades for delivering not only an impressive album, but one that has directed anger and animosity toward what’s going on in present day.
Hearing the title track performed live with a green digital effect behind them set a great scene for where we live in 2026. The below photos are a glimpse at what went down in Virginia Beach.
Lamb of God
Along with the tour promoting Into Oblivion, Twenty years ago, Lamb of God released Sacrament — and the heavy metal world was never quite the same. Dropping in August 2006, the Richmond, Virginia groove metal titans delivered what many consider their most commercially ambitious record, landing at #8 on the Billboard 200 and introducing a generation of new fans to their punishing brand of American metal. With tracks like “Redneck,” “Blacken the Cursed Sun,” and “Walk With Me in Hell,” Sacrament balanced raw aggression with mainstream accessibility in a way few metal albums had managed before. The video below is a look back at Sacrament from 2006 and seeing how it holds up 20 years later.
As listed above, supporting Lamb Of God was Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Each band definitely fit the vibe to match what Lamb Of God would put out later that night. While each band gave their heaviest, each band also made sure to point out a fan wearing a hot dog suit who was later named the pit commander by Matt Honeycutt.

This was the heaviest concert I’ve been to in 2026 and possibly through 2025 as well. The crowd was wild but never chaotic or dangerous (thanks to Hot Dog Guy’s presence). The tour continues on through April and ends in Boston.
Whether it’s reliving the glory from Sacrament or getting blown away to new material in 2026, Lamb Of God still knows how to deliver as strong as any active metal band running today. Lamb Of God have been on a wild ride, but you can never once say they phoned it in.
