Canadian deathcore wrecking crew, BRAND OF SACRIFICE, have announced the release of new EP, ‘Between Death and Dreams‘ out on April 21st. To highlight the announcement, the band have dropped new single “Dynasty“, complete with a stunning cinematic music video that has fast become their calling card. Listen to the track HERE. Watch the video HERE or by clicking the image below. Pre-Orders for ‘Between Death and Dreams‘ will be live at 10am EST on Friday, February 10th HERE.
Speaking on the brand new track, BRAND OF SACRIFICE frontman, Kyle Anderson adds
‘A big challenge for me this year was to bring in some different elements on the emotional spectrum into our music and lyrics, not just despair or anger. I wanted to express some of my personal story through this song. Dynasty is more uplifting – it’s about challenging yourself to overcome your personal obstacles while staring fear in the face and, much like Brand of Sacrifice as a whole, becoming an absolutely unstoppable force.’
“Dynasty” follows the release of track “Exodus“, the band’s first new music in over a year, in November last year to much furore from fans. “Exodus“, “Dynasty” and the upcoming EP mark the beginning of a new chapter of BRAND OF SACRIFICE. Maintaining their signature brutality and complexity, but upping it to a whole new level with a few surprises thrown in.
Pre-orders and a special ‘Between Death and Dreams‘ merch collection are available now from www.brandofsacrifice.com

Alter Bridge live at The Wellmont Theater 02-01-23
Fresh off the heels of a successful European Tour, Alter Bridge has set its sights on North America. The “Pawns & Kings” tour, featuring support by Mammoth WVH and Red kicked off last week in Florida and is already making waves. With sold-out dates nationwide, it’s clear Alter Bridge fans have been eagerly waiting for the bands’ return.
Wednesday night was a cold one here in New Jersey, but that did not deter the hundreds of dedicated rock lovers who lined up outside Montclair’s historic venue, The Wellmont Theater, even before doors opened. Freezing temperatures not withstanding, that was an awesome thing to see. By the time the tour’s first opener took the stage, the venue was notably full.
Formed in Nashville in 2002, it’s safe to say that Red has been kicking around for some time. With some hours clocked in at the studio working on a brand new album, Rated R, due out this spring, it doesn’t look like they’ll be slowing down anytime soon. Opening up with “Death of Me” and rounding it out with “Breathe Into Me,” Red powered through their (sadly) short 6-track set with palpable energy.
Mammoth WVH was an interesting surprise. The rock band, formed and led by Wolfgang Van Halen, has had quite a rise to fame over the last year, including a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance. Judging from the number of Mammoth WVH shirts and exhilarated cries of the audience as the lights dimmed, the relentless touring has certainly paid off. Fans weren’t just there for Alter Bridge that night, and that is super refreshing to see. The band kicked off with self-titled “Mammoth” and the 8-track setlist included bangers like “Epiphany” and “Think It Over,” rounding out with the clear favorite—“Don’t Back Down”—a solid anthem that cinched the excitement for the main act.
With the venue now filled to capacity, the energy in the room was purely electric. Alter Bridge took the stage punctually at 9pm and wasted absolutely no time tearing into “Silver Tongue” from the bands’ latest Pawns & Kings. Alter Bridge is not a band that spends much time idling between songs, and Wednesday was no different as they immediately followed with a second heavy hitter “Addicted to Pain,” only letting the audience breathe briefly with “Ghosts of Days Gone By.” With 18 years under their belts, and a wealth of truly solid material to pick from, I can’t imagine that creating a setlist for each tour has gotten any easier. As a result, some true and tried staples might have been missing, but nevertheless the band showcased their remarkable dynamic skill that kept the audience engaged from start to finish. “Blackbird” was a show-stopper as always, and I really hope it never leaves the setlist. I still remember it as the song that first got me into them way back circa 2007. Quieter moments came via a short acoustic set with “Watch Over You” and the heartbreaking “In Loving Memory.” In all, Alter Bridge delivers a solid live show that’s ever-evolving and never feels dull.
Alter Bridge Setlist: 1. Silver Tongue 2. Addicted to Pain 3. Ghosts of Days Gone By 4. Holiday 5. Broken Wings 6. This is War 7. Cry of Achilles 8. Burn it Down (Mark Tremonti vocals) 9. Watch Over You (acoustic) 10. In Loving Memory (acoustic) 11. Blackbird 12. Pawns & Kings 13. Wouldn’t You Rather 14. Isolation 15. Metalingus Encore 16. Rise Today
ALICE COOPER is inarguably one of the biggest names in the history of rock music. To honor his 75th birthday on February 4, 2023, POWERWOLF has released a cover version of his larger-than-life song “Poison”. POWERWOLF on the cover: “Over the years we have released several cover songs to pay tribute to artists / bands that we personally hold in high regard. With “Poison”, ALICE COOPER has created a timeless classic and we could not miss the opportunity to celebrate his 75th birthday (on February 4) with our own version.“

The new release features six new studio tracks, including the single “Sainted By The Storm”, which was already celebrated on the band’s exhilarating Wolfsnächte 2022 headline tour, as well as one of the most intense tracks in the band’s history, “My Will Be Done”. Pittsburgh punk rock iconoclasts ANTI-FLAG will be plenty busy in 2023. The band just kicked off their winter North American touring campaign alongside the legendary Flogging Molly, and today they are dropping a new music video for the song “Shallow Graves”.
Another heart-wrenching salvo off their new full-length, ‘Lies They Tell Our Children’, the track features guest vocals from burgeoning folk singer/songwriter Tré Burt, and touches on the ugly and inhumane passages of the American story.
The band shares:
“We were really adamant about creating a visual accompaniment for this song. To us, ‘Shallow Graves’ is a perfect encapsulation of the intention and concept of the new album. The evil and vile history of the United States of America, when traced back, creates a clear lineage of how its violent history begets its violent present begets its violent future.
“Drawing the parallels between the slaughtering of native peoples allowing for massive land grabs that lead to the thirst for the enslavement of Africans and the expansion of the slave trade. Moving further west to exploit Chinese migrant workers, Mexican males, and the creation of immoral border and immigration laws that are the framework for the mistreatment of immigrant and refugee communities today. Not to mention its ties to the modern NRA architect Harlon Carter, it’s just a breeding ground of evil.”
On the “Shallow Graves” video, they add: “INDECLINE and Pedro Millás were able to demonstrate and tell this story in a more beautiful and cinematic way than we could have ever hoped. We are grateful for their talent and vision. It’s a bit of a futile task for a 2min long punk song to attempt to summarize the fact that the ground beneath your feet, currently, no matter where you are, is rife with injustice and blood.”
‘LIES THEY TELL OUR CHILDREN‘ TRACK LIST:
“SOLD EVERYTHING“ “MODERN META MEDICINE” (Feat. Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage) “LAUGH. CRY. SMILE. DIE.” (Feat. Shane Told of Silverstein) “THE FIGHT OF OUR LIVES” (Feat. Campino of Die Toten Hosen) “THE HAZARDOUS” “SHALLOW GRAVES” (Feat. Tré Burt) “WORK & STRUGGLE” “NVREVR” (Feat. Stacey Dee of Bad Cop/Bad Cop) “ONLY IN MY HEAD”

Following a successful run of shows in December and preparing to celebrate 25 years of being a band, California rock band Thrice just shared a brand-new, re-recorded version of The Artist In The Ambulance. Mike Minnick) 12. Don’t Tell And We Won’t Ask
“The question has to be asked: Why would we re-record a 20 year old album, let alone one that is widely beloved and arguably our most well-known. I think the core of the answer is that it simply sounded fun and we were curious,” shares Kensrue. “We know that playing the revisionist is a dangerous game, so we were always a little uneasy about trying to go back and mess with something that people loved, people who had none of the hangups about the record that we did. But, since we decided to do this anyway, we tried to let that wariness guide us in how we approached the record, and in the end we decided to make very minimal structural changes.”
Released in 2003, The Artist In The Ambulance remains one of the most influential albums in the genre. Featuring tracks like “The Artist In The Ambulance,” “All That’s Left,” “Stare At The Sun” and more, the album peaked at number 1 and number 16 on the Billboard US Top Internet Albums and Billboard 200 chart respectively. “All That’s Left” peaked at number 24 on Alternative Airplay, number 36 on Mainstream Rock Airplay and number 37 on Active Rock, and “Stare at the Sun” peaked at number 39 on Alternative Airplay. More recently, The Artist In The Ambulance was named by NMEas one of the 20 emo albums that have stood the test of time, and Rock Sound ranked it number 25 on their list of modern classics.
“At the end of the day, what we wanted the record to sound like for fans is that somehow one of their old favorite records got a new lease on life, but that it hadn’t lost its soul or turned into something else. We hope you enjoy revisiting The Artist In the Ambulance.”
Thrice also announced their upcoming tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Artist In The Ambulance. The tour kicks off on May 18 in San Diego, CA, and will be visiting cities throughout the United States, playing The Artist In The Ambulance in its entirety, with special guest Holy Fawn. Pre-sale tickets are available now at https://thrice.net/. All additional tickets go on sale Friday, February 3 at 12pm ET on www.thrice.net
On the upcoming tour, Thrice vocalist Dustin Kensrue shares, “The Artist in the Ambulance has played such a huge part in the history of the band. These songs have stood the test of time better than we could have known when we wrote them. But they’ve also subtly shifted and grown with us as we’ve played them at shows over the last 20 years, which is why it was so much fun to revisit them in the studio, and also why we are so excited to play the whole record live, especially for the first time in its entirety.”

A personal thank you to everyone that continues to watch these live streams. We love doing them and we love that so many people have enjoyed them over the years. The fact that we’ve been able to make so many and there is still a significant demand means a lot to us. We will have another and make sure everyone knows when it is. Thank you again and until next time, keep the Super Chats coming to get another 10 minutes of Crash doing a Caddyshack reenactment. These are historical art performances that need to be documented.

Today, alt-rock icons Pixies announce the addition of Leg Two for its 2023 North American concert tour. With many dates on Leg One already sold out, Leg Two launches on June 8 and will see the band headlining in venues from Boston to Ohio to Texas, as well as making a special appearance at Bonnaroo on June 18. Also announced, the Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand, and American indie rockers Bully will be Special Guests on all Pixies’ Leg Two headline dates. Confirmed shows for Legs One and Two are below; tickets for Leg Two go on sale Friday, February 3 at https://pixies.ffm.to/live.OPR; remaining tickets for Leg One dates are currently on sale at https://pixies.ffm.to/live.OPR
All North American dates are in support of Pixies’ latest album, Doggerel (BMG), and are part of the band’s 2022-2023 World Tour that launched last Spring and has seen the band playing to sold-out headline shows throughout the UK, Europe, South America, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
As Pixies rehearse 90-100 songs before every tour, there are no predetermined set lists for any of the concerts, the band will play what they want when they want, and each “next” song is determined just before its first note is played. Consequently, every Pixies show is different.
In his review of Pixies’ Edinburgh show last August, David Pollock from The Scotsman wrote, “Grimy, relentless and effortlessly tuneful, this was some show from the Pixies, packing no fewer than 37 songs into a two-hour set. This was Maximum Pixies… a ‘Now That’s What I Call a Pixies set,’ which condensed more than 35 years of history into one bullet-sized dose.” And from NME’s Sam Moore at Spain’s Mad Cool Festival, “Things you expect to see at your average Pixies gig: hit after hit after hit. ‘Gouge Away’? Check. ‘Wave Of Mutilation’? Of course! ‘Caribou’? Naturally. No banter – just bangers. — You want more? Don’t worry: Black Francis and Co. have got you, with ‘Hey’, ‘Tame’, ‘Monkey Gone To Heaven’ and ‘Vamos.’” Chris Schulz with the New ZealandHerald wrote, “Pixies’ Sydney Opera House show is a rambunctious, confrontational blast from the past. ‘Bone Machine,’ ‘Debaser,’ ‘Gouge Away,’ ‘Here Comes Your Man,’ and ‘Where Is My Mind?’ All get wickedly delicious outings, bringing the crowd to their feet and dancing and singing along in unison. No opening act, just two hours and 31 songs of pure Pixies, who proved they’re still as weird and wonderfully bonkers as their fans. That standing ovation lasted for minutes – and they deserved every second of it.”
Confirmed dates for Pixies’ North American tour are as follows:
