The onsite Art Boutique, Art Towers, and Art Walls return, featuring live, large-scale installations and interactive pieces that unfold in real time throughout the weekend.

Contemporary American painter Terry Urban, known for his vibrant pop-meets-street style, and illustrator and cartoonist Jay Howell, the creative mind behind Bob’s Burgers and Sanjay and Craig, bold, irreverent visuals will add a playful pulse to the festival grounds. The program also highlights a curated selection of Columbus-based artists, celebrating the city’s vibrant creative community through live mural painting and exclusive artwork featured throughout the site. “Bad Omens are back with their third single of 2025, and you’re going to love it. Following recent tracks “Specter” and “Impose,” their latest heady anthem is called “Dying to Love.” The band teased the track earlier this week across socials, delivering a quick clip that featured a man wandering through a darkened landscape, a shadowy crowd of figures and the caption “Heaven isn’t quite what it seems.” Now, we know this is all connected to the video for “Dying to Love,” which a press release confirms was directed by Bad Omens vocalist Noah Sebastian and visual collaborator Nico. Together, they crafted a clip that find the band performing “deep within the pit of a condemned brutalist structure” for a group of “ominous spectators.” A second plotline finds the aforementioned man “wandering through an endless labyrinth of darkness.” As for the track, it has Sebastian employing a heavenly falsetto, intimate whispers and a hellacious guttural scream as he coasts above Bad Omens’ heightened, chorus-effect heavy arrangement.” (Revolver)

“Ace Frehley, the founding guitarist for the rock band KISS, has died at age 74. His death was confirmed in a statement from his family. “We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” the statement said. “In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth. Southern California’s DAYSEEKER — Rory Rodriguez [vocals], Gino Sgambelluri [guitar], Ramone Valerio [bass], and Zac Mayfield [drums] — have shared the epic and cinematic video for “Crawl Back to My Coffin,” the latest single from their new album Creature In the Black Night. The album arrives on Friday, October 24 via Spinefarm.

“‘Crawl Back To My Coffin’ is a metaphor for love that hurts you when you’re guarded and causes your walls to go up even further,” says Rodriguez. “The excitement in meeting someone new when you’re ‘dead’ and feeling like they bring you back to life only to feel pain and wish you had never left your grave at the end of it.”

The accompanying, utterly gorgeous, and darkly romantic visual feels like a mini movie. The action unfolds, appropriately, in a graveyard. It’s as though you’re outside the gates of the cemetery, watching the story move.

 Produced by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Silent Planet) and mixed by Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Lorna Shore), the album is Dayseeker’s most immersive and intentional record to date — eerie, cinematic, and threaded with a dark (and sexy) emotional current.

In other Dayseeker news, the album’s lead single “Pale Moonlight” has landed at No. 9 — and it continues to climb — on the radio charts, marking the band’s first-ever Top 10 track.

While not a concept album in the traditional sense, Creature in the Black Night exhibits thematic cohesion, from its shadowy visual identity, Grim Reaper iconography, and ominous atmosphere, to how its songs unfold like chapters. “There’s a horror-inspired vibe that took hold early on,” Rodriguez explains. “It wasn’t planned. But once it started showing up in the songs, we leaned into it.”

Fans expecting a sorrowful descent into depression might be surprised — Creature In The Black Night has sharper edges, heavier riffs, and a newfound sense of clarity. “There was this idea that we’d get more and more commercial over time,” Rodriguez says. “But I think the opposite happened — we’re riffing more, I’m screaming more. And it feels good. It feels honest.”

Puscifer, the multi-dimensional band featuring Maynard James Keenan, Mat Mitchell and Carina Round releases Normal Isn’t, their first new album in over five years, on Feb. 6 via Puscifer Entertainment/Alchemy Recordings/BMG. The record channels the post-punk influences that shaped the members’ early musical experiences while pushing into darker, more guitar-driven territory.

“We’re definitely leaning into our early influences,” Keenan shares. “It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.”

The band previews the 11-song collection with the release of “Self Evident” and its accompanying video (https://youtu.be/NfQb5-NEyr8), filmed during a special August performance at Exchange L.A., where the group previewed the album in full for an intimate crowd of fans.

Written and recorded across Arizona, Los Angeles, and on the road during last year’s Sessanta tour, Normal Isn’t blends the dark electronics and sharp humor Puscifer is known for with a more spontaneous creative process. “From the outset, we had discussed an element of rawness and edge, which guitar brings,” shares Mitchell, who co-produced the album. “We got rid of the guard rails and made the music more aggressive.”

For Keenan, this release represents a new approach to songwriting. While he’s always been deeply involved in shaping Puscifer’s sound, this time he set-up his own digital recording system and built full song ideas before presenting them to Mat and Carina.

That shift gives the music fresh immediacy, one that Round says changed the dynamic in the studio. “Instead of just saying, ‘I want this to sound like Fleetwood Mac on cocaine if they had a baby with PJ Harvey,’ Maynard was showing us his intention, which was really cool,” she explains. “In Puscifer, any idea can totally change without any preciousness, and everybody is on board – not unlike an insane asylum. We found each other because we’re demented in a symbiotic way.” 

“Normal Isn’t reflects this time we are living in,” Keenan adds. “As storytellers and artists, our job is to observe, interpret, and report. We take in our environment and share what we see, and what we see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.”

Contributors to the new collection include Greg Edwards (bass), Gunnar Olsen (drums), and Sarah Jones (drums) with guests Tony Levin (bass on “Normal Isn’t” and “Seven One”), Danny Carey (drums on “Seven One”) and Mr. Ian Ross (father of Atticus Ross, who narrates “Seven One”).

Jimmy Kimmel has been in the news a lot recently, so lets look at 10 great rock and metal performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! 

“Jimmy Kimmel Live! is an American late-night talk show, created and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and broadcast on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). The nightly hour-long show tapes and is based out of the El Capitan Entertainment Centre (ECEC), formerly the Hollywood Masonic Temple in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. It debuted on January 26, 2003, as part of ABC’s lead-out programming for Super Bowl XXXVII. For its first ten years, Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired at 12:05 a.m. ET/PT before moving to 11:35 p.m. on January 8, 2013.  

On September 17, 2025, during an interview on conservative commentator Benny Johnson’s podcast, FCC chair Brendan Carr warned that action could be taken against ABC for remarks by Kimmel during the monologue of the previous night’s episode, in which he stated that the “MAGA gang” was “desperately trying to characterize this kid who ___ Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” 

On September 22, five days after the suspension and the aforementioned outcry, it was announced that Kimmel would return to the show the following night, though the show remained off the air on Nexstar and Sinclair affiliates. On September 26, media companies Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group announced that they would restore the show on their affiliates that evening. Disney said that the return of the show drew 6.26 million viewers, despite not being aired to 23% of households due to preemptions.” (Wiki)
