VOYAGER Announces New Album & Shares New Music Video

VOYAGER

Perth’s fearless, riff-laden, genre-bending band VOYAGER will be releasing its eighth studio album ‘Fearless In Love’ on July 14 via Season Of Mist! In celebration, the Eurovision contenders are now sharing the first song, “Prince of Fire,” along with a music video. The song, which might be the heaviest Voyager song to date, can be found at THIS LOCATION!

On ‘Fearless in Love’, sweeping vocals paired with emotive lyrics inspired by the grit and glam of 80s and 90s film overlay heavy guitar riffs and percussion to create a sonic journey that pushes the boundary of what fans have come to expect from VOYAGER.

“’Fearless in Love’ was written and recorded between 2020 and 2022. The writing process was very different from how we’ve done things in the past,” explains Danny Estrin. “As a result, the album is more cohesive and exciting with a cinematic feel, hailing back to gritty films of the 80s and 90s showcasing all the layers that make up Voyager. This album takes you on a ride through a dark city and leaves you on a more pensive, reflective note by the end.

ICYMI: VOYAGER enter promised land with their new progressive synth-metal anthem “Promise”. Representing Australia at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, the quintet will bring their synths and riffs to the world stage this weekend! “Promise” can be streamed everywhere HERE.

Stay tuned to the SBS Eurovision website for updates HERE.

3TEETH Return With “Merchant Of The Void,”

3TEETH

Modern industrial act 3TEETH have re-entered the conversation of our tortured reality with Merchant Of The Void.” Released today, the band’s brand-new single is the first in a series of monthly teases leading up to their anticipated new album coming soon via Century Media Records.

As A.I. takes over, banks collapse, climates further spiral out of control and humans grapple with an existential living nightmare, 3TEETH is laying it out straight with a brutal new outlook on track Merchant Of The Void,” revealing their first salvo into a new era of sonic exploration.

The track comes alongside a stunning graphic video from one of Hollywood’s leading animators Matteo Santoro (who grew up with 3TEETH frontman Alexis Mincolla) producing a visually epic piece that takes viewers on a space-folding journey into hyper-consumerism on a Lovecraftian scale.

Pre-save “Merchant Of The Void” here: https://3teeth.lnk.to/MerchantOfTheVoid-Single

The gut-punch song pairs the band’s trademark gritty electro-industrial metal alchemy with ruminations on the self-destructive path humanity has been treading on, as described by frontman and creative lead Alexis Mincolla :

”Amidst the numbing pulse of hypermodernity, the insatiable appetite of data commodification devours our sense of meaning. The undead march of materialism eventually renders the human subject an automaton, desperately grasping for the ephemeral junk 2.0 to fill the abyss of existential emptiness. The self devolves into a mere echo, a ghostly specter caught in the whirlwind of techno-capital acceleration, the very essence of its being devoured by the machinery of its own weaponized desires. If the future eludes your vision, fear not, The Merchant of The Void is standing by and eager to sell it to you. Welcome to the cold descent into the black hole of total absolute commodification.  In the words of William S. Burrough ‘The junk merchant doesn’t sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client.”

Merchant of The Void” follows previously released track Paralyze” (featuring Ho99o9), both of which hail from 3TEETH’s much-anticipated fourth album, forthcoming via Century Media Records (more details to be announced soon).

To lay the foundation for the new material, 3TEETH migrated to the deserted quiet of Joshua Tree, escaping from the palpable anxiety of their hometown of Los Angeles for fresh new perspective. The material is currently being wrapped up with a solid extended team including the accomplished sound designer Mick Gordon (best known for his work on the gaming phenomenon DOOM) who produced several of the tracks along with producer Nick Rowe and mixer Sean Beavan (NIN), bringing in another dimension to the band’s unmistakable sound.

Says Gordon, “3TEETH are one of my favorite acts. They proudly fly their own unique flag. The new album charts course through the next stage of our vanity-led evolution as a species, and by that I mean the album is a world unto itself. I’m just stoked that these guys have allowed me along for the ride.”

Bush Releases New Single “All Things Must Change”

Bush

Today, legendary rock band Bush followed up their #1 Active Rock Radio smash “More Than Machines” by releasing their thrilling new track “All Things Must Change” and announcing the release of the deluxe edition of their 2022 triumph ‘The Art Of Survival.’ The track continues the “hot streak” of collaborations between top producer/writer Erik Ron, and Bush guitarist Chris Traynor with Gavin Rossdale’s hall of fame lyrics and melody. A bruising heavy rock song that interrogates the unexpected changes that life has in store, “All Things Must Change” yet again proves that Bush is still one of the most vital voices in contemporary music.

Frontman Gavin Rossdale stated about the track, “This is nature. All things are changing. All the time.”

Having received immensely positive reviews upon release, the deluxe edition of ‘The Art Of Survival’ cements the album’s status as a classic of the already iconic Bush catalog. AllMusic remarked that it was their “their best post-hiatus offering to date…an essential late-catalog installment that re-energizes their sound with fresh tricks and newfound purpose” while Billboard noted that ‘The Art Of Survival’ “finds Rossdale and company full of bombast, huge guitars, and memorable hooks.‘The Art Of Survival’ encompasses the resiliency of the human spirit in the face of trials and tribulations as the band’s own enduring place as rock outliers.

Pre-save the deluxe edition of ‘The Art Of Survival’ HERE

Bush is back on the road for another hard-charging romp around the country, this time once again alongside fellow icons of rock Breaking Benjamin. The band will be hitting markets not yet served by their previous tours supporting ‘The Art Of Survival’. Kicking off on May 2nd, the shows will feature a mixture of classic cuts like “Machinehead” and “Glycerine” in addition to new music like “More Than Machines” – their 7th #1 at radio, that showcases the diversity and timelessness of the Bush songbook.

Shinedown Announces The Revolutions Live Fall Tour

Multi-platinum, chart-topping band Shinedown has announced their upcoming fall leg of The Revolutions Live Tour, co-produced by Live Nation and FPC Live, with support From Papa Roach and Spiritbox.

The fall run of shows starts off in St. Louis, MO on September 3, kicking off a 26-date run of fall headline shows and festivals. Tickets are on sale this Friday May 5th at 10am Local at LiveNation.com. Various presales will be available Wednesday, May 3 through Thursday, May 4. VIP packages featuring exclusive access available for purchase. Full tour routing below. For all show/ticketing details for the fall dates and previously announced dates please visit www.shinedown.com.

This week, the band’s hit single “A Symptom of Being Human jumped into the Top 25 at Hot AC Radio. Unfolding with gentle acoustic guitar, soaring strings, delicate piano, and a powerful vocal delivery from front man Brent Smith, “A Symptom Of Being Human” celebrates the beauty of our individual differences and embraces the ups and downs of life, while showcasing Shinedown’s gift for making us feel connected through our common humanity.

This follows Shinedown’s recent #1 at Active Rock Radio with “Dead Don’t Die.” The single notched Shinedown their 20th #1 at the format. It became the most spun #1 song at the Active Rock format in a single week since 2016 when Metallica’s “Hard Wired” hit that milestone, and it is also the most played Shinedown #1 in one week at Active Rock. The defiant track, featuring pummeling drums and searing off-the-rails guitar solos, is a rousing declaration of survival and an anthem about the resilience of the human spirit after trying times.

Shinedown is currently on their spring tour playing to sold out arenas across the country, with support from fellow chart-toppers Three Days Grace and From Ashes To New. For this current run of shows, Shinedown has partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to donate $1 for every ticket sold.

The Planet Zero album debuted in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart and the Official UK Albums Chart, and at #1 on six other Billboard charts including Top Album Sales, Rock, Hard Rock, and Alternative Albums Charts. Featuring searing and incisive tracks like “Dead Don’t Die” and #1 rock hit “Planet Zero”, as well as uplifting and unifying songs like the soaring pop-rock anthem and #1 rock hit “Daylight,”  Planet Zero boldly confronts the societal forces that perpetuate divisiveness while offering a restorative path forward through empathy and open conversation – ultimately serving as a reminder that it is our human connections that matter the most. The band’s video for “Daylight,” set to the Amazon Original version of the song, is a love letter to their fans and shows the impact that the song’s message – that you are never alone – had during Shinedown’s sold-out Planet Zero World Tour. PRESS HERE to watch.

Enforced – War Remains | Album Review

Thrash metal with much more aggression and energy that has been desperately needed in thrash recently. Undeniably, the guitar work steals the show on War Remains. At any point through the 10 tracks, you are knocked out of your seat by just how good the shredding is. The vocals are crushing without ever giving out and this is well-written thrash. Not trope-filled anger and conflict. War Remains is an album that goes by in a flash even when you go back to play songs. Hanged By My Hand and Mercy Killing Field were two I went back to right away when hearing them. Even in the slower moments when the groove is more established, those moments feel like they still belong. It’s a significant thrash album that doesn’t play around and isn’t bloated. An aggressive menace of an album for sure. 9/10

Top 10 BEST Debut Metal Albums!

An album review on War Remains, an album from Enforced.

From Google Bard: “Enforced’s music is a blend of thrash metal and crossover thrash. The band’s sound is characterized by its fast tempos, aggressive vocals, and heavy guitar riffs. Enforced’s lyrics often deal with political and social issues, as well as personal struggles.

Enforced released their debut album, Death by Trenches, in 2017. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike, and it helped to establish Enforced as a rising force in the crossover thrash scene. In 2019, the band released their second album, Kill Grid. The album was even more successful than their debut, and it helped to solidify Enforced’s status as one of the most important crossover thrash bands of the 21st century.

In 2023, Enforced released their third album, War Remains. The album was their most ambitious and experimental work to date, and it further cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative bands in the crossover thrash scene.”

UK Alt-Metal Upstarts VEXED Announce New Album, “Negative Energy”

Vexed

UK’s most exciting new talent, alt-metal outfit VEXED, emerged as one of the hottest new bands to watch in heavy music. After their highly-lauded debut in 2021 the crushing Hertfordshire unit will unleash the album’s aggressive successor, entitled Negative Energy, on June 23rd via Napalm Records. Heavier and more violent, the new studio album depicts the confidence VEXED have gathered since their first release, and represents a soundtrack of brutality – chaotic, traumatic and based on the band’s most grueling personal experiences.

Crushing new single “Anti-Fetish” comes as the first harbinger and fearlessly breaks in with an all-consuming, panic-stricken lead riff, making a stand against comparisons and hate in the business. Blistering with disorderly intensity, VEXED don’t mince words with pure honesty and all-consuming instrumental strength. The brand-new official music video underlines this message in a visually impressive way that captivates from start to finish!

VEXED on “Anti-Fetish” :
“We wanted to start with a huge riff and a strong message. Anti-Fetish is us confronting the constant comparisons and ungrounded hate that bands receive. It’s become completely accepted in the scene to cross the line of constructive criticism and just dive bomb into hatred and prejudice. This song is us setting the record straight by calling out the blatant discrimination.”

Negative Energy achieves pinnacle musicianship and gripping, profound and brave lyricism. Instead of opting for forced positivity like many of their contemporaries, the Hertfordshire three-piece channel every ounce of their Negative Energy into these 13 tracks – recharging themselves for an uphill battle.

The band states:
“We are so proud to present to you our second album. Since our first release, we have each endured traumatic experiences, surrounded by death, betrayal, pain and grief. In order to find any strength, we first had to accept that we weren’t okay, then take our trauma and face it head on, sharing our vulnerability, fears and weaknesses. Instead of forcing ourselves to try and be positive we put all our negative energy into the album in order to begin our own repair and to overcome.”

Pre-Order the devastatingly heavy Negative Energy NOW

Haunting intro track “PTSD” sets a stage of dread for the carnage to come. “We don’t talk about it” – featuring pitch-shifted verses emulating a disguised voice – explores childhood trauma and survivor’s guilt. “X my <3 (Hope to die)” deals with what happens after we die and that it should be okay to never get this answer, while “Panic attack” centers on mental health issues, representing terror and frustration through heavy riffs and grooving vocals. Furious “Lay down your flowers” (feat. Alpha Wolf vocalist Lochie Keogh) showcases extreme vocals and bombarding drums, while disturbingly groovy following track “There’s no place like home” draws inspiration from ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The unbelievably heavy “Extremist” gets straight to the point, kicking off with fast and demanding vocal rhythms, while “Default”, on the other hand, displays multifaceted lead singer-to-watch Megan Targett’s high-soaring clean vocals juxtaposed against her menacing deep growls. This is equally evident on standout, dynamic “Trauma Euphoria”, also featuring some of the most impressive guitar work on the album. The album’s most emotional offering, “It’s Not The End”, serves as a magnificent dedication to a loved one passing away while manifesting their legacy, before sliding into instrumental interlude “DMT” – cradled by lo-fi beats with hints of 808, delivered in fresh VEXED style. Intense album finale “Nepotism” wraps up Negative Energy with a knot of rage before slowly fading out into darkness. Negative Energy proves itself as a stunning, devastating musical conduit – ventilating the band’s pain-stricken burdens and breathing life into their fresh approach, delivered with a vengeance.
