HIT THE LIGHTS Announce First Song In Seven Years “Get Your Ass To Mars” out September 5, 2025
Pop Punk titans Hit The Lights are making their return to the scene. After a seven-year break, the beloved Ohio, Cleveland rock band has announced they will be releasing new music this September. “Get Your Ass To Mars” is a raucous pop punk track that will have day one fans of the band pressing the replay button.
Vocalist Nick Thompson shares: “It feels really good to finally put a date on a release after 7 years of HTL silence. We feel like GYATM is a perfect re-introduction to the world of HTL, blending a mix of what we’re known for with some vibes we haven’t explored before as a band. We’re grateful for a new chapter.
“We’re SO back. Hit The Lights is hitting the road this Fall and we can’t wait to see you there 🖤 Tickets on sale this Friday | 10 am local time.”
On an unusually cool August night in Virginia, Danish rock band Volbeat, along with Halestorm and The Ghost Inside, stormed in as part of their Greatest of All Tours tour.
Kicking off the night was The Ghost Inside, who was able to awaken the Thursday night crowd. The metalcore band brought the stage to life with their heavy riffs and grit, while packing a punch with their breakdowns. Although their set was short, it was one that fired up the crowd, leaving them wanting for more.
Next up was rock royalty, Halestorm. If you’ve never seen Halestorm live, immediately seek tickets out to their next show near you. With lead singer Lzzy Hale’s fiery presence, this is one band you don’t want to miss. Their performance was not only a knockout, but was incredibly powerful. The whole band is a powerhouse to be reckoned with.
When it was time for Volbeat to hit the stage, the crowd was more than ready. The energy was felt all throughout Jiffy Lube Live – from the pit, to the seats, to even the merch line, the crowd was on fire. Starting off the night goat sounds that bled into fan favorite “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown,” Volbeat never missed a beat. Lead singer, Michael Poulsen, was able to command the crowd in a way that many are unable to. He had their undivided attention as he led them through the entire setlist. Volbeat started off the night strong with “Lola Montez,” an infectious song that will have you singing at the top of your lungs. The night continued until the final song, “Still Counting,” an absolute Volbeat classic.
Volbeat Setlist The Devil’s Bleeding Crown Lola Montez A Warrior’s Call At the End of the Sirens Sad Man’s Tongue Demonic Depression Fallen Shotgun Blues In the Barn of the Goat Giving Birth to Satan’s Spawn in a Dying World of Doom By a Monster’s Hand The Devil Rages On Die to Live Time Will Heal Black Rose Seal the Deal For Evigt Children of the Grave (Black Sabbath cover) Still Counting (With children from the crowd on stage.)
This part of the tour with Halestorm and The Ghost Inside will conclude August 22 in Tinley Park, IL. If you have the chance to attend, you will absolutely not want to miss it.
BABYMETAL have returned with album number five and have brought a lot of friends with them. Some of the big collaborations are the standouts. Tracks over the past year plus still hold strong like “Ratatata” with Electric Callboy and “From Me To U” with Poppy. The combination of so many big names with BABYMETAL is exciting, especially the new collaboration with Spiritbox in “My Queen”. Outside of some of these big tracks, it’s definitely more of the similar BABYMETAL material. The ladies sound strong, the beats are there, the loud moments are fun, it’s what you’d expect. While I do feel it’s not as interesting as the concept album The Other One, some of the biggest songs on Metal Forth raise the overall album impact. 7/10
BABYMETAL – Metal Forth | Album Review
“My Queen” (ft. Spiritbox)
BABYMETAL X Electric Callboy “Ratatata”
“Metal Forth is the fifth studio album by Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal. It is the first Babymetal album to be released by Capitol Records, after the band signed with the label early in 2025. The title of the album means “beyond metal”. It is also the first album recorded with Momoko Okazaki since she joined the band in 2023. Metal Forth features collaborations with numerous artists. The collaborative nature of the album marks a departure from the band’s previous albums, with only three of its tracks lacking a guest artist.” (Wiki)
Trivium Announce Struck Dead EP for 10/31/25 Band Shares Video For “Bury Me With My Screams”
GRAMMY-nominated heavyweights TRIVIUM— vocalist/guitarist MATTHEW K. HEAFY; guitarist COREY BEAULIEU; bassist PAOLO GREGOLETTO; and drummer ALEX BENT — are thrilled to announce the release of their forthcoming, three-song EP STRUCK DEAD. It arrives on October 31 via longtime label Roadrunner Records. Pre-order it here.
While it may only be three songs in length, in typical Trivium fashion, it packs a powerhouse punch, thanks to masterful riffing and the dual-style vocal prowess the band has built its nearly three-decade reputation on! It was produced by Trivium and recorded with Mark Lewis at the band’s Hangar Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was mixed and mastered by Josh Wilbur.
Today, the band also shares the video for the first single “BURY ME WITH MY SCREAMS.” The song premiered via Heafy’s “Chaos Hour” show on Sirius XM Liquid Metal.
Trivium Struck Dead EP out Oct 31st, 2025
“In 2023, we decided it was finally time to take the next step with The Hangar space we purchased — it was time to turn it into a full studio,” says Gregoletto. “We brought in designer Roger D’Arcy, thanks to an introduction from Mark Lewis, and set out on a year-long build. While construction was underway, we were deep in rehearsals for The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour, celebrating Ascendancy’s 20th anniversary. What started as an idea to release one single during the tour quickly grew into two, then three, as we kept writing while we were waiting for the build-out to be completed.”
He continues, “During that time, the energy of revisiting Ascendancy started bleeding into these new songs. Matt poured a lot of his personal struggles from the past year into the music, and we used the writing process as a cathartic release. Those sessions evolved into a three-song EP that we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to debut ‘Bury Me With My Screams’ live at Bloodstock Open Air Festival.”

The Podcast That Rocked for 8/6/25. KORN was the only heavy music at Lollapalooza, Attila goes after Mr. Beast, more. This week ft. Kevin Kellam!

“In recent years, as Lollapalaooza tries to diversify its lineup, organizers will throw in that wild card, odd sock band that has some scratching their heads and others totally jazzed at the surprise. In 2025, that distinction wholly went to Korn. Since forming in Bakersfield, California in 1993, the nu metal founding fathers have kept a steady following (12 million on Facebook alone) but have largely been a festival fringe act, mostly relegated to prominent metal gatherings and European and UK events like Download and Hellfest, or even their own infamous Family Values Tour. In those environments, Korn draws tens of thousands to see their pulsating mix of screeching guitars, loaded basslines, detonating drums and frontman Jonathan Davis’ aggressive barking that have become a consistent draw. But at Lollapalooza, not so much. The last time Korn played the festival, it was 1997 when the event was still touring the country. To put that into perspective, Olivia Rodrigo wasn’t even born yet, and that detail became a proverbial line in the sand that divided the audience on Friday night for their headliner choices.” (Chicago Sun Times – Selena Fragassi)
TankTheTech – What The HELL Is Going On With Slaughter To Prevail?
“When it comes to putting shows together, there are few people more important than the roadies and techs that make sure shit runs smoothly. Without them, you’d have bands doing all the work and while that’s fine for smaller acts or kids getting their feet under them, it’s impossible for major acts touring all over the world. So you’d think an act like Slaughter To Prevail would hire a tour manager that would make sure the people making the shows run would be properly taken care of. Yet according to allegations from the band’s (now former) drum tech Thomas Finch, that’s allegedly not been the case. In a post on his personal Facebook account over the weekend, he laid out a working condition that at face value seems exploitative, abusive, and likely illegal. And while he claims the band themselves are “all WONDERFUL, fun, loving humans,” his main beef lands squarely at their management. Finch’s statement alleges that all of the issues happened while the band was on its run with Marilyn Manson and deals with Slaughter To Prevail’s “new band manager and current [tour manager’s]” alleged “disorganization, mismanagement, financial instability, and blatant disrespect toward crew members.” (Loudwire)

In addition to tallying tens of millions of streams and views, they’ve piqued the curiosity of the press. Entertainment Weekly christened them “Exceptionally groovy,”Variety described their music as “hypnotic electronic rock,” and Stereogum said they are “darkly playful.” Revolver added, “You’re highly unlikely to find another band that explores the fear and loathing of our uncertain times in as chill a fashion as the latest from Maynard James Keenan’s art-rock outfit Puscifer.”
Renowned for their immersive live show, the group’s performances blur the lines between concert and theater, traversing the dusty American Southwest, the sweaty squared circle, and outer space. They’ve brought their unique live experience to life everywhere from Coachella to Bonnaroo

KIDZ BOP LIVE Is Insane! (Thoughts From A Concert Photographer)
“The music world is in mourning after the death of metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, just weeks after he made his final performance at the Back to the Beginning concert with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham, England. It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” his family said in a statement on Tuesday (July 22). “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”-Loudwire

We got word this afternoon that The Prince Of Darkness now rules in the afterlife. R.I.P. Ozzy Osbourne. 1948-2025.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. -Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis”
“John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne (3 December 1948 – 22 July 2025) was an English singer, songwriter, and media personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which period he adopted the nickname “Prince of Darkness”. Osbourne became a founding member of Black Sabbath in 1968, providing lead vocals from their eponymous debut studio album in 1970 to Never Say Die! in 1978. The band was highly influential in the development of heavy metal music, in particular their critically acclaimed releases Paranoid (1970), Master of Reality (1971), and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973). Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to problems with alcohol and other drugs. He then began a successful solo career with Blizzard of Ozz in 1980 and released 13 studio albums, the first seven of which received multi-platinum certifications in the US. He reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions. He rejoined in 1997 and helped record the band’s final studio album, 13 (2013), before they embarked on a farewell tour that ended with a 2017 performance in their native Birmingham.” (Wiki)

“My Chemical Romance kicked off their Long Live the Black Parade tour in Seattle last weekend in grand, theatrical fashion — though some casual observers have expressed confusion and criticized the band’s “weird demonic” stunts and “theatrical propaganda. My Chemical Romance are playing their landmark 2006 album, The Black Parade, in full on their latest tour — and much of the online discourse stems from one key moment during last Saturday’s tour kickoff show. Between “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “I Don’t Love You,” frontman Gerard Way led the audience in an “experiment” and “a practice of democracy.” The band trotted out four “candidates” with sacks over their heads and held an “election,” beckoning audience members to hold up a sign that said either “YEA” or “NAY.” Apparently, the majority of the audience voted “NAY,” as the four candidates were “shot” execution-style and removed from the B-stage on which they stood. “Thank you so very much for participating in democracy,” Way said with a wry smile before the band continued playing.” (Loudwire)
