UK-rock back Neck Deep are back with their newest out-of-this-world single “Take Me With You,” available now via Hopeless Records. The new track finds vocalist Ben Barlow screaming for help into the unknown, letting everybody know that he would “rather be (hypothetically) abducted by aliens than stick round on this ‘hellish sack of burning trash.’”
“’Take Me With You’ is one of those songs where I had the title first. Literally as simple as “we should write a song about aliens called ‘Take Me With You.’ So conceptually and lyrically it was pretty straightforward,” says Barlow. “A few of us in the band are big UFO heads, particularly Seb, so we had a lot of fun writing this one.”
Barlow continues, “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a slight nod to Blink 182’s ‘Aliens Exist’ but you can blame Tom [DeLonge] for infecting my fragile mind at a young age and then going and busting the UFO world wide open. It’s ultimately a little bit of fun before we come at people with the more meaningful stuff a little later down the line.”
“Take Me With You” follows up the band’s recent singles “STFU” and “Heartbreak Of The Century,” both available to stream now.
Alongside the new track, Neck Deep have announced a headlining performance at the legendary Alexandra Palace – affectionately dubbed Ally Pally – in London on March 28, 2024.
“It’s been a long time coming but we’re stoked to be finally headlining Ally Pally,” the band says on the announcement. “We’ve supported a few times there and always loved the venue. But now it’s our turn for our biggest ever headline show. I’m expecting it to be the best Neck Deep show ever, and you wouldn’t wanna miss that, would ya?”
Neck Deep’s fourth album All Distortions Are Intentional wasreleased in 2020 via Hopeless Records. The first week of the album’s release saw over 20,000 copies sold and over 20 Million streams around the world. Securing the #6 spoton the Billboard Top Album charts as well as the #2 spots on the Alternative, Rock, Independent and Internet Album charts and #3 on Vinyl here in the United States as well as a Top 5 debut in the UK’s Top Albums chart, the album is polished yet raw, layered but catchy as hell.
Over the last decade, Neck Deep have gatecrashed the charts, both at home and internationally, sold hundreds of thousands of records and concert tickets, graced magazine covers all over the world and toured with some of the biggest names in the business in the process. As the band enter their second decade as a band, you’d continue to be foolish betting against the boys from Wrexham.
Swedish viking metal marauders, AMON AMARTH continue their domination with a brand new music video for their epic Valhalla feast track “Heidrun” off their chart-topping record “The Great Heathen Army”. Additionally, AMON AMARTH have unleashed a special 4-track digital single of “Heidrun” featuring a newly remixed version of the single plus two live bonus tracks and a “goat remix” version featuring actual goat vocals (full track list below). Watch the official music video for “Heidrun” HERE and find the digital single on your streaming platform of choice HERE.
Frontman Johan Hegg sheds light on the mythological significance of “Heidrun” –
“Heidrun is an interesting mythological character, it’s a goat that stands on the roof of Valhalla eating the leaf of the big tree Lärad. The milk that she gives is the honey/mead that the warriors in Valhalla drink each night. The lyrics themselves are both about Vikings travelling the world but also metaphorically what it is to be a touring musician.”
”Heidrun” Digital Single Track List:
1. Heidrun (2023 Remix)
2. Heidrun (Live at Graspop, 2023)
3. Put Your Back into the Oar (Live at Hellfest, 2023)
4. Heidrun (Goat Remix)
Following their hugely successful ‘The Great Heathen Tour’ at the end of last year, which saw them become the first death metal band to ever headline the legendary KIA Forum in Los Angeles, AMON AMARTH’s relentless raid continues this week as they invade US shores once again. This time they will join forces with fellow Swedes Ghost for their 25-date ‘Re-Imperatour USA 2023’ run as well as playing two very special headline shows in Omaha, NE on August 10th with Creeping Death and 200 Stab Wounds and Riverside, CA on September 9th with Gatecreeper. Ready your long swords, prepare for battle and grab your tickets and meet and greet packages HERE.
AMON AMARTH have teamed up with SET.Live to give Vikings in attendance at each show the opportunity to win their very own special, limited edition Viking drinking horn on the night of each show. Fans simply need to scan the QR code found scattered throughout each venue near the official tour merch stands and will be entered to win. This also signs fans up for exclusive opportunities that may arise in the future. SET.Live is only available to those in attendance, so get your tickets now.

*Amon Amarth Headline show with Creeping Death and 200 Stab wounds
A massive storm raged along the Eastern US on August 7th that either deterred people from leaving their homes or made leaving impossible. The rock gods decided that Richmond would not be affected as the storms surrounded the city limits but left clear skies above Virginia Credit Union Live. Every performance tonight mentioned the storm and heat but at the same time, it made for an event that fans were thrilled wasn’t canceled last minute as Alter Bridge live was going to happen as planned.
Alter Bridge’s Pawns & Kings Tour featuring Sevendust and Mammoth WVH is a tour that speaks to long-time rock fans. This is a live show about the music and not gimmicks or trends. The tour isn’t about stage personas or edgy rockstars trying to get attention. The music was the focus of the entire night.
Myles Kennedy addressed the crowd and said the band wanted to try for the third time “Fable Of The Silent Son”. This was a song that the new audiences were gravitating to and Alter Bridge has gathered the courage to play the beastly track.
Alter Bridge pulled off the big spectacle highlighting many songs off their latest album Pawns & Kings, while also playing songs going back to their 2000s days. Every solo was met with cheers, Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti traded off singing at points, it was exactly what Alter Bridge has established over nearly 20 years as a group.

Sevendust are a band I’ve been listening to since 1999 when I first heard the album Home. I could feel how happy I was when the band played “Denial” for the second track of the evening. Lajon Witherspoon addressed the storm and sweaty weather but pushed through, all while Sevendust continued to prove themselves as one of the most underrated live bands ever.
The band’s latest album Truth Killer was released less than a month ago and Sevendust decided to treat Richmond by playing the charting single “Everything” live for the first time ever. The song was well received and Lajon proclaimed “We did it!” after the track finished. It was a good moment for everyone.
Opening the night was Mammoth WVH, who less than two weeks prior released their second album Mammoth II. After listening to the new album and then hearing some of these songs live, it furthers my opinion that Mammoth WVH is going to be a big name for a long time. His vocals keep improving over time and his guitar work is fantastic. Along with the rest of Mammoth, Wolfgang Van Halen make a great case for modern rock still being able to have its place in 2023.
I greatly enjoyed this show. It was the perfect lineup for three bands who are in tune sonically but also understand the tradition of hard rock not needing to follow suit with online trends. Alter Bridge live has always been held to a high standard, and this entire night including Sevendust and Mammoth WVH all lived up to that high bar.
The Pawns & Kings Tour continues through August 2023 ending in Iowa. Tickets can be found at Alter Bridge’s website here: https://alterbridge.com/pages/tour

It’s so much easier to write a fucking metalcore song, than sit down and write a fucking HIT single that breaks the billboard hot 100 charts. so tired of these clowns acting like making metal is some crazy ass impossible concept that only few know how to do, here’s your chord…
Ronald Joseph Radke is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, musician and record producer, best known as the current lead singer of rock band Falling in Reverse and the former lead singer of band Escape the Fate.
Metalcore is a fusion genre combining elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk, that originated in the late 1980s. Among other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, which are slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumentation includes heavy guitar riffs often utilizing percussivepedal tones and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically perform screaming, more popular bands often combine this with the use of standard singing, usually during the bridge or chorus of a song. However the death growl is also a popular technique within the genre.
The performances and execution across the board are big. The music sounds dynamic and strong. Wolfgang’s singing has a bigger presence, and his guitar and all instrument work are great. It’s no gimmicks rock that thrives in the moment and is equal parts flashy and driven. Lyrically it’s nothing mindblowing but the hooks are delivered so well that it gets in your head instantly. Strong singles are the highlights. I do wish the mainstream format wasn’t as followed in parts because I feel Mammoth could venture out and do well. Heavy music fans who have not given Wolfgang Van Halen a chance, need to. He’s not just a son of a legend, he’s proven he’s his own musician worthy of his own name. Good stuff. 7/10.

SPANISH LOVE SONGS, have released “Marvel”, the final track releasing ahead of the upcoming album ‘No Joy’ out August 25 via Pure Noise Records. Fans can listen to the new song now at this link: https://lnk.to/SLS_Music or on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/Z-BlbCDY4AM
“Marvel’ is the backbone of the album thematically,” says vocalist and guitarist Dylan Slocum. “It was written for a friend, and the chorus was a throwaway joke that has just sort of stuck. It’s probably the most positive song I’ve ever written, and a response to every complaint I’ve ever lodged in other songs.
Find the things you need to stay afloat.
Piss off the cosmic forces that would see you perish.
Find what you need.
Stay alive.”
Recently hailed as “one of the summer’s most anticipated albums” from Brooklyn Vegan, ‘No Joy’ will be released in full on August 25, 2023 and is available for pre-order at this link: https://lnk.to/SpanishLoveSongs. Previously released tracks “Pendulum”, “Haunted” and “Clean-Up Crew” can be streamed on all platforms now: https://lnk.to/SLS_Music
Brimming with new wave pastiche, fluttering synths, shimmering walls of chorus guitar, and four-on-the-floor rhythms, ‘No Joy’ isn’t an exclamation point follow-up to the emotional catharsis of the landmark ‘Brave Faces Everyone’ as much as it is an exhale – the sound of vocalist and guitarist Dylan Slocum, his wife and keyboardist Meredith Van Woert, guitarist Kyle McAulay, bassist Trevor Dietrich, and drummer Ruben Duarte finding peace in quieter moments and embracing the negative space.
Produced by the band and Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker, Illuminati Hotties) and mixed by Carlos de la Garza (Paramore, M83, Best Coast), the 12 songs on ‘No Joy’ continue to find Spanish Love Songs grappling with the messiness of what it means to be alive in the modern age – unsure of the answers themselves but confident that together, we can all come a little closer to the solutions.
‘Brave Faces Everyone’ was about mustering up the strength to barely break even in an increasingly bleak world, ‘No Joy’ is finding the internal peace required to stay in the black. As Slocum says, “it’s an album about finding happiness in what you have and your current moment. It might be your best moment, or it might not, but you have to find joy in it.”

Since 2013, the LA-formed indie-punk quintet SPANISH LOVE SONGS have made hay on the backs of a string of beloved albums – 2015’s Giant Sings The Blues, 2018’s Schmaltz and 2020’s Brave Faces Everyone – lauded by critics and fans alike for their richly personal, no-holds-barred lyricism awash in existential dread, hyper-personal cultural ruminations and attempts to answer life’s big questions.
Thrash metal frontrunners NERVOSA have announced their fierce fifth full-length, Jailbreak, out September 29, 2023 via Napalm Records! This will be the first NERVOSAalbum with guitarist and founding member Prika Amaral on vocal duties, and showcasing the band’s mighty new lineup completed by the immensely talented and well experienced Michaela Naydenova on drums, Hel Pyre on bass and Helena Kotina on guitars.
Following the blistering standalone single “Endless Ambition”, with “Seed Of Death”, NERVOSA serves up a second taste of what’s to come. Starting off with a beautiful, epic intro, “Seed Of Death” features philosophical lyrics that explore questions about the never-ending cycle of life, grabbing an omnipresent issue relevant to all of us. Check out the captivating official music video below!
Prika Amaral on the new single and album: “I’m very happy with the result of this song and our new album. I always wanted to have a song like this but it never happened for different reasons and now we can finally make it happen. Also, we were able to take even more risks and do new things. With two guitars the doors open to a whole new world of possibilities, in fact NERVOSA had two guitars in the beginning, but then we decided to go with one guitar for logistical reasons, since it would be easier to move with one less person for tours. Now NERVOSA has a much bigger structure that allowed this addition, and we are really enjoying this moment of the band. The process of writing this record was the most fun and brought the most musicality, enriching the band.
Helena Kotina adds: “I think Jailbreak is NERVOSA‘s most revolutionary record, both musically and lyrically. It was a very challenging process but at the same time very constructive. We were able to take care of every detail until we obtained the best result.”
Breaking through barriers like an unstoppable steamroller, full-speed thrash outfit NERVOSA present their new studio album, entitled Jailbreak! With their previous record, Perpetual Chaos (2.8M plays on Spotify), NERVOSA not only secured their first chart positions (#18 GER Official Album Charts, #6 US Hard Music Albums, #9 US Top New Artist Albums charts), but also performed at some of Europe’s biggest festivals, such as Copenhell, Resurrection, MetalDays, Summer Breeze, Wacken Open Air, and many more.
Among its various themes, Jailbreak explores messages of breaking free from everyone and everything holding you back from doing exactly what you want to do. It encourages the listener to be proud of who they are, and to trust in themselves and the strength that lies within them. The album kicks off with charging “Endless Ambition”, a track previously released in early 2023 that acted as a first harbinger for everything that is about to come on the album. The track immediately showcases the incredibly powerful attitude and talent of Amaral as frontwoman. Raging “Suffocare”, which deals with several aspects of toxic relationships, and “Ungrateful” continue on the path of the intense opening track. Relentless title track “Jailbreak” attacks with a thrash metal chorus and roaring guitar solos. As a very special treat, NERVOSA spices up the intense track “When The Truth Is A Lie” with none other than an impressive guest contribution from legendary EXODUSguitarist Gary Holt, whilst INFECTED RAIN/DEATH DEALER UNION vocalist Lena Scissorhands provides another strong guest feature by lending her voice on “Superstition Failed”. “Elements of Sin” features some of the album’s most insane guitar work and thundering vocals, before uncontrollable closing track “Nail The Coffin” seals the 13-track album with a forceful thrash banger.
In true NERVOSA style, the album’s lyrical themes comment on our society in a direct, critical manner, with messages delivered through intensely fast-twitching, raw soundscapes. On Jailbreak, the band continues their powerful collaboration with Martin Furia, who produced the four-piece’s successful previous records. With this album, NERVOSA graces fans with yet another thrash metal masterpiece!
