Post hardcore band SeeYouSpaceCowboy have today shared “To The Dance Floor For Shelter”, the latest single from their highly anticipated new album Coup De Grâce. Fans check out the new song, which features guest vocalist Courtney LaPlante of Spiritboxhere.

SeeYouSpaceCowboy “To The Dance Floor For Shelter” (ft. Courtney Laplante)

This song is our little ode to the emo songs that we were all obsessed with growing up, we wanted something that would almost feel cinematic in nature and felt like it carried you through from the piano in the beginning to the journey through the middle to the climax,” the band shares. It’s a song that Courtney’s vocals beautifully fit into as a voice that leads you to that destructive end.

Coup De Grâce is a complex and imaginative record that invites listeners into a neo-noir world of the band’s creation. It’s set to be released on April 19th via Pure Noise Records and features previous singles “Respite For A Tragic Tale (ft. iRis.EXE)”, “Silhouettes in Motion”, “Rhythm and Rapture (ft. nothing, nowhere.)”, and “Chewing The Scenery”. Should Pantera Make New Music? | Pantera Disavow Confederate Flag

With the success of the Pantera reunion, many are asking if Pantera should make new music with the current touring lineup (as well as if members have moved on from past issues).

“Pantera is an iconic American heavy metal band hailing from Arlington, Texas, known for their influential music that has shaped the heavy metal genre. Pantera’s musical style evolved over the years, transitioning from glam metal to groove metal with a touch of thrash metal influences. They are recognized as pioneers of the new wave of American heavy metal and have influenced genres like nu metal and metalcore.

Regarding Pantera’s current touring lineup, the band has recently reunited with surviving members Rex Brown on bass and Philip Anselmo on vocals. Joining them are Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. This lineup has been approved by the estates of the band’s founders, Vinnie Paul Abbott and “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Pantera has been headlining major festivals across North America and Europe, staging headline concerts, and is set to support Metallica on a stadium tour in 2024. Discussions have arisen about the possibility of this current lineup releasing a live album from their ongoing tour, showcasing a blend of honoring the band’s legacy, playing beloved songs, and introducing Pantera’s music to new audiences in a live setting.” (Perplexity)

Scro/Underbelly – Scrobelly | EP Review

One artist I’ve discovered that’s been on steady rotation for me in 2024 is Scro. The guitarist, vocalist, and producer has amassed a considerable following on Instagram and TikTok, but never got recommended to me algorithmically on other conventional social media or Spotify. But one listen of “Is This What You Wanted” and I was captivated from the start. Scro’s ability to rip tapping riffs that would make Origami Angel sweat, add so many layers of production that FL Studio should crash every 5 minutes, and top it all with impassioned vocals culminates into bingeworthy discography listens. An artist that frequently collaborates, Scro enlisted Underbelly, who’s behind the YouTube channel You Suck At Producing, to team up in a new EP, scrobelly. With DJ Underbelly’s input, this looks like a formula for an intricate, evocative listen. How does this one turn out?

Just as expected, Scro and Underbelly lay it on HEAVY with the production twists and tricks. Intertwining melodies, percussive elements, and steady beats, most of the offerings on scrobelly create a soundscape that bursts at the seams with headphone listens to fully capture the busy proceedings. Scro adds a twinkly midwest-emo tap riff here and there, and when songs like “i lay here” pay off with a guitar solo, it’s peak Scro/Underbelly. Compared to earlier Scro’s vocals, he’s made significant process in his vocal delivery, too – screams are improved and so is enunciation to complement his guitar prowess. With so much going on at once, what Underbelly adds to the equation can’t be understated, either; Scro was adept with production, but the hyperpop moments prevalent in tracks like “leave me” are just as enthralling as the post-hardcore ones in “i guess i’m alone” on scrobelly.

Exhibiting their range across all seven songs, scrobelly is certain to be a hidden gem in 2024. Best experienced in an immersed headphones listen, Scro is as enthused with the final product as I am: “this EP is truly something special. me and underbelly put a lot of time and creativity into it and the whole project is so diverse and focused. i hope u are all excited for it”. Scro embarks on their first tour this April, supporting Julia Wolf. In the meantime, check out scrobelly if you’re keen on unique genre blends and masterful music production.

Dreaded Metal Pirates ALESTORM Conquer the Aral Sea and Unveil “Uzbekistan”

Oh wow! Just in time for the release of their upcoming EP, Voyage of the Dead Marauder, pirate parties are raging around the world with ALESTORM’s new, infectious single “Uzbekistan”, out now alongside an official music video. The new EP, Voyage of the Dead Marauder, drops this Friday, March 22, 2024 via Napalm Records.

The crew sails forth with “Uzbekistan”, showcasing a classic pirate metal anthem featuring a synth-laden party breakdown full of intense screams while teaching geography to the greatest historians about the famous pirate-sea-land of Uzbekistan.

This EP succeeds the  band’s chart-topping previous album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum, which debuted at #7 on the German album charts and #5 on both the US Current Hard Music and Top New Artist Albums charts upon release, as well as six further humorous masterpieces. After a successful UK and Ireland tour supported by Korpiklaani and label mates Heidevolk, and a long crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, they are currently headlining venues in North America!

Chris Bowes comments:
“Oh wow! We’ve decided it is our life goal to become the biggest band in Uzbekistan, so we wrote this wee song about the place. I trust it is 100% historically accurate.”

ALESTORM return to the seven seas with new Pirate Metal anthems!
The EP breaks loose with the epic title track Voyage of the Dead Marauder – an accelerating anthem featuring an appearance from returning guest favorite Patty Gurdy, giving the track some extra spice with a hurdy-gurdy performance and captivating vocals. “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” will transform any gathering into a packed pirate pub with its jolly flute melody, conveying a freeing, energetic mood, before “Sea Shanty 2” uplifts with an instrumental interlude. But don’t fret – listeners who clamor for the band’s most raucous anthems will have their needs met, as closing track “Cock” fully balances out the EP’s more serious tracks with its delightfully foul lyrics. Get on board landlubbers, and embark with your favorite pirate crew on this seaworthy adventure!

Wage War Share New Song “Magnetic”

WAGE WAR DROP VIDEO FOR EXPLOSIVE NEW SINGLE “MAGNETIC” — WATCH

CO-HEADLINING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR 2024 WITH NOTHING MORE + SPECIAL GUESTS

VEIL OF MAYA + SLEEP THEORY KICKS OFF APRIL 16

WAGE WAR — Briton Bond [lead vocals], Cody Quistad [rhythm guitar, clean vocals], Seth Blake [lead guitar], Chris Gaylord [bass], and Stephen Kluesener [drums] — are barreling straight ahead into 2024 with an explosive new single.

Today, the band premiered the new single “Magnetic” via SiriusXM’s Octane and dropped the video. Watch it here

Wage War “Magnetic”

The band has built its reputation on the back of smart songwriting that expertly pits hooks against heaviness and sprinkles melody amidst the maelstrom. On “Magnetic,” the Florida five-piece continues this tried and true formula that has been so effective for them. But they take it up 10 notches and throw more than a few sonic curveballs in the space of four minutes. The melodic verses and choruses grab your attention and the hard-charging and unholy roars and thick riffs keep it. “Magnetic” should write you a rent check because it will live in your brain, thanks to its supreme catchiness. It is indeed “Magnetic.”

“‘Magnetic’ is a song about an attraction to someone that you just can’t seem to quit,” the band explains. “Despite knowing what may be best, we’re pulled back to a feeling that inevitably takes control. Fate decides our future.”

In other Wage War news, the band will kick off its Spring 2024 co-headline tour with Nothing More on Tuesday, April 16 in Charlotte, NC. The trek runs through Friday, May 17 in Indianapolis, IN. All dates are below. Get tickets here.

Stoked to be touring with some of our oldest friends in the industry,” says The Used vocalist Bert McCracken. “We’ve always been huge fans of Big Blue Monkey! Can’t wait to see Amira Elfeky live as well!!!

The Used have been big brothers to Story Of The Year for over 20 years,” continues Story Of The Year frontman Dan Marsala. “They were the one of first bands to take us on tour after we finished ‘Page Avenue’ and they played a big part in SOTY becoming the band we are today. I’ve always admired how The Used were the fearless leaders of our early 2000s scene and I’m so proud of the friendship that we built so many years ago. The Used and Story Of The Year… that just sounds right!”

Last year, The Used released their newest album, Toxic Positivity. Described as a “day-in-the-life journey of a depressed, anxiety-ridden person” by McCracken, the tell-all record shares the highs and lows of depression and addiction through a cohesive body of work, speaking to the ever-changing headspace that he was experiencing at the time of writing. “This record is quite tough for me to listen to,” he adds, “because it’s a reflection of times in my life that have been some of my lowest ever.”

Fans can stream Toxic Positivity now at https://theused.ffm.to/toxicpositivity

Story Of The Year released their most recent album Tear Me To Pieces in 2023 via SharpTone Records. Featuring eleven new tracks – including previous singles “Real Life,” “Tear Me To Pieces,” “Take The Ride,” “War,” and “2005” – the new album is distinctly, invitingly, loudly Story Of The Year. Heartache, desperation, motivation, toxic relationships, pain, loss, anger – all of the essential ingredients of the classic Story Of The Year sound propel Tear Me to Pieces in dazzling new ways.

Additionally, Northlane will drop their forthcoming EP, Mirror’s Edge, on April 12. Mirror’s Edge was recorded with their old friend and revered producer Will Putney. Described by Jon Deiley (songwriter/guitarist) as “the greatest hits of Northlane sounds,” the EP is a nostalgic journey through all the colors on their sonic palette, with bonus shades from special guests Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) and Ian Kenny (Karnivool/Birds of Tokyo) — two of the most influential artists in Northlane’s history. Their former bass player, Brendon Padjasek, also stopped by the studio to lend his scream to one of the tracks. Penned just over a year after the release of their award-winning album, Obsidian, the road to Mirror’s Edge was a bumpy one. Instead of riding high from the success of the album, the simmering tension and communication breakdown between band members threatened to engulf Northlane at any moment. Northlane tackled their issues head-on at a writing retreat in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, where they worked through their problems and unlocked new channels of creativity in the process that reflects through the EP. From the expansive prog of “Afterimage” to their signature bottom-heavy groove and viscous breakdown of “Kraft” and compulsive beat and electronic focus of “Dante,” Mirror’s Edge is full of Northlane’s most vivid colours and textures.  Thematically, the EP is about looking at yourself and reflecting on the past one final time before leaving it all behind to find hope in what lies beyond the mirror’s edge. With the recurring theme of acceptance binding these songs together, frontman Marcus Bridge is hopeful that Mirror’s Edge will be the coda on this part of his personal life, so much of which he has shared in the last couple of Northlane releases.

Pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 20 at 10:00 am (local). General on-sales begin Friday, March 22 at 10:00 am (local). For full details, please see www.thegaslightanthem.com.

In the meantime, The Gaslight Anthem is currently traveling on an epic EU/UK tour, including sold-out headline shows and wide range of top-billed festival appearances into July. In addition, the band will return to their home state of New Jersey to join Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Trey Anastasio Band, Norah Jones, and more at Asbury Park’s sold-out Sea.Hear.Now Festival on Sunday, September 15.

The Gaslight Anthem’s sixth full-length and first new album in nearly a decade, HISTORY BOOKS includes such singles as  the heavy-hearted title track, “History Books,” which sees Fallon trading duet vocals with longtime band champion and fellow New Jerseyan Bruce Springsteen, as well as “Spider Bites,” “Autumn,” “Little Fires” (featuring guest vocals from PUP frontman Stefan Babcock), “Positive Charge.” All five tracks are joined by official music videos streaming now on YouTube.

The Gaslight Anthem is: Brian Fallon (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Alex Rosamilia (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alex Levine (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Benny Horowitz (drums, percussion, backing vocals).
