hitbox release devastating new single, “Devoid of Pulse”

The Hardcore tag-team of Destin Taylor and Joseph Fox have released their newest single, “Devoid of Pulse”, as of November 24th.

An unrelenting 90-second onslaught, “Devoid of Pulse” is just another offering from hitbox that I fear is flying under too many radars. Not wasting a second, the first half is a blistering affront to hate, with lyrics like “Leave trans kids alone Leave queer teens alone Time will come Meet your god and face your sin”. The second half consists of a monstrous, sludgy breakdown that fades into distortion. Before you know it, the track is over.

With production from nightlife’s Hansel Romero, slamming double-bass and overlapping guitars maximize the heaviness soundscape. The bar hitbox has set in previous offerings, like “Grief Inheritance“, transcends just being a “hardcore band” with so much going on that bits and pieces of powerviolence, deathcore, and even cybergrind make their way in. With an album on the way, now’s better than ever to check out hitbox.

AMARANTHE Release New Single ‘Outer Dimensions’ From Upcoming Album

Swedish metal virtuosos AMARANTHE break through the grey November clouds, ready to cure your seasonal blues with their new uplifting track ‘Outer Dimensions’!
Once again, high energy vibes paired with a catchy chorus and garnished with some heavy riffs and impressive growls, this song is determined to live up to its name and take the listener to higher spaces.

AMARANTHE‘s Olof Mörck states: “Dimensions and galaxies collide in our latest single ‘Outer Dimensions’, which takes you on a journey from the introspective and obscure, all the way to a sparkling cosmos of an epic chorus! We feel that it showcases ‘The Catalyst’s diversity, all in one track while remaining very recognizably AMARANTHE. The song is masterfully counterpointed by a tour de force of a video, directed by long-time collaborator Patric Ullaeus – so let us bring you the furthest reaches of your imagination with ‘Outer Dimensions’ soon!”

‘Outer Dimensions’ is the third single from AMARANTHE‘s forthcoming album The Catalyst, that will see the light of the day on February 23rd, 2024, via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be available digitally and in different physical formats including CD, Vinyl, a 2CD Special Edition, and a band-exclusive Vinyl that will come with a signed poster.

‘Outer Dimensions’ comes with a fantastic new video that the band released today. Watch it here:

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE‘s storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

“We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time,” Mörck grins. “In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally, the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous.”

The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE walked their own unique path from the start. With a sound that combined the sharpest, cutting edges of melodic metal, electronic rock and razor-sharp pop, their impact was immediate and undeniable. Kicking off with their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, swiftly establishing themselves as a dazzling one-off, not least due to the unprecedented triple vocal attack that paired clean tones with exquisite melodic sensibilities and feral growls. Over the next few years, the sextet steadily grew in stature, releasing a series of praised studio records that jabbed persistently at the boundaries of modern metal.

With Sails Ahead premiere new single, “Darting Eyes”

New Jersey post-hardcore outfit With Sails Ahead have released a long-awaited single, “Darting Eyes”. Their first since 2022’s “Acid Redux”, it’s been a long time coming for the burgeoning five-piece. Engineered and produced by guitarist Josef Warner-Reyes, mixed by August Axcelson (ASkySoBlack, Kaonashi), and mastered by Kris Crummett (Hail the Sun, Issues), the sound’s only further enhanced with the dream-team behind it.

Arguably their most polished work yet, “Darting Eyes” is a blast to listen to as vocalist Sierra Binondo flexes her juxtaposing harsh vocals with a gorgeous chorus. The most striking part, though, is the riff that follows the chorus – as technical as it is heavy, it’s a refreshing listen and honestly pretty natural to put on repeat for fans of the guitar lead in its closing minute. Accompanying the single is a music video directed by Kris Khunachak with some neat psychedelic vfx and some camaraderie that adds to the song’s flair. I had a chance to hear this song played live when the group made their way to Chicago this summer and anxiously waited for its release date.

Check out the band’s new single in the video above or streaming here!

Hailing from New Jersey, With Sails Ahead are best known for their heartfelt brand of post-hardcore which blends bright j-rock-esque melodies with progressive technicality. Named one of Asbury Park Press’ bands and artists you need to hear, the group has built a following by opening for acts such as Hail the Sun, Royal Coda, and Eidola, and touring the US with their beloved collaborators and peers pulses., Adventurer, and I Met a Yeti. With Sails Ahead will release their debut full-length album Spring 2024.

10 AWFUL Kidz Bop Rock Songs!

Falling in Reverse is an American post-hardcore band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2008. The band is best known for their frontman, Ronnie Radke, whose tumultuous career has been marked by both his musical talents and his controversial behavior.

In the realm of post-hardcore music, few albums have made as significant an impact as Falling In Reverse’s 2011 debut, The Drug In Me Is You. Released on June 28, 2011, the album catapulted the band onto the scene, establishing them as one of the most prominent and influential acts of their generation.

The Drug In Me Is You is a whirlwind of energy and emotion, seamlessly blending elements of metal, post-hardcore, and pop-punk. The album’s sonic diversity is matched by its lyrical depth, exploring themes of love, loss, addiction, and self-discovery.

Falling In Reverse

Ronnie Radke, the band’s frontman, delivers a commanding vocal performance, showcasing his signature blend of harsh screams and soaring melodies. Radke’s raw and honest lyrics resonated with fans worldwide, establishing him as a relatable and charismatic figure.

The album’s production is equally impressive, featuring a thick, punchy sound that perfectly complements the band’s energetic performances. Producer Michael Baskette, known for his work with Escape the Fate, effectively captures the band’s raw intensity while maintaining a sense of accessibility.

The Drug In Me Is You is not without its flaws. Some critics have pointed to its overreliance on breakdowns and its somewhat predictable song structures.

Despite his legal troubles, Radke has remained a popular figure in the music industry. He is known for his high-energy stage presence and his powerful vocals. He has also been praised for his songwriting, which often deals with personal issues such as addiction and mental health.

Radke’s antics and behavior have undoubtedly influenced Falling in Reverse’s music and image. The band’s sound is often described as chaotic and unpredictable, and their live shows are known for their intensity. The band’s lyrics often deal with dark and controversial themes, reflecting Radke’s own personal struggles.

Whether you love him or hate him, there is no denying that Ronnie Radke is a larger-than-life figure. His antics and behavior have made him one of the most recognizable and controversial figures in post-hardcore music.” (Google Bard)

“On November 5, 2023, heavy metal band Slipknot announced that drummer Jay Weinberg was leaving the band. The band released a statement on their website, thanking Weinberg for his “dedication and passion” over the past ten years, but saying that they were “intent on evolving.”

Weinberg joined Slipknot in 2014, after the departure of founding member Joey Jordison. He appeared on three of the band’s albums. Weinberg’s departure comes as a surprise to many fans, as he was seen as a key part of the band’s recent success.

In their statement, Slipknot did not give any specific reason for Weinberg’s departure. However, some fans have speculated that it may have been a creative decision. Slipknot is known for its constantly evolving sound, and it’s possible that the band is looking for a new drummer who can help them take their music in a new direction.

Others have speculated that Weinberg’s departure may have been due to personal reasons. The band has been through a lot in recent years, including the death of original drummer Joey Jordison. It’s possible that Weinberg is simply ready to move on to a new chapter in his life.

Whatever the reason for Weinberg’s departure, it’s a major loss for Slipknot. He was a talented drummer who helped the band to create some of their best music in recent years. It will be interesting to see who Slipknot chooses to replace him with.” (Google Bard)
