The Ghost Inside Announce Searching For Solace; Release New Song “Wash It Away”

The Ghost Inside Announce New Album
Searching For Solace
Out April 19 Via Epitaph Records
Share Music Video For Lead Single “Wash It Away”

Since their 2004 formation in El Segundo, California, The Ghost Inside have inspired international audiences with their songs of resilience, perseverance and vulnerability born from genuine life experiences. After five studio albums, today they announce their new record Searching For Solace out digitally on April 19th and physically on June 7th via Epitaph Records.

The Ghost Inside also share the lead single “Wash It Away”, which finds vocalist Jonathan Vigil ruminating on the realization that anything, even the band, can quickly disappear.

It’s really hard to break everything down, start over and rebuild,” they explain.  “Whether that is a relationship, schooling, a career or a business venture. After dedicating so much time to something, it can be scary to lose it and start over.”

The performance video depicts the band flooded by a torrential downpour, complete with epic underwater shredding. Check it out below:

The Ghost Inside “Wash It Away”

Four years since their self-titled album was named one of Loudwire’s Best Rock and Metal Albums of 2020, Searching For Solace arrives at an optimal time in the lives of The Ghost Inside. Nine years removed from the horrific bus crash that forever changed their trajectory, vocalist Jonathan Vigil, guitarists Zach Johnson and Chris Davis, bassist Jim Riley, and drummer Andrew Tkaczyk have learned an esoteric truth about tranquility. As the axiom says, “it’s the journey, not the destination” – a theme explored throughout the band’s dynamic sixth album, Searching for Solace.

People always ask me how I remain positive,” Vigil muses. “I’m realizing now that there’s never really a time where you reach that point of ‘happiness.’ It’s a constant journey. I know that life is hills and valleys. You must be willing to embrace new things, stand up for yourself, and adapt. Because the goalposts just move further away. The search for solace never ends.”

A constant force in the metalcore scene since 2008, The Ghost Inside merges metalcore’s proficiency with punk’s urgency. Searching For Solace features production from Dan Braunstein (Spiritbox, Dayseeker) who took the reins on most of the record, with other tracks handled by Cody Quistad (Wage War), Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (August Burns Red, Bloodywood). Building a bridge between more aggressive sounds and thoughtful messaging, the album boasts the most fundamental elements of The Ghost Inside: honesty, vulnerability, the message, and the melody. Unafraid to embrace darker themes and expanded sonic landscapes, Searching for Solace is a quintessential entry to The Ghost Inside’s catalog.

There’s more singing and song structure than on the previous album, but there are also some of the heaviest songs we’ve done,” notes Riley (bass). “We really know who we are, and we also feel comfortable stepping into the future. This is a new chapter, but it’s not disconnected from what the band sounded like before. It’s more of an extension of it. We’re excited by it.”

The Ghost Inside Searching For Solace

Casey – How To Disappear | Album Review

How To Disappear somehow is if Explosions In The Sky and Thrice were combined and went post-hardcore. That sounds impossible but Casey the band make it work. Some of the guitar tones and swelling loud moments are massive. You hear the build-up and anticipation in songs like “Selah” and “Puncture Wounds To Heaven”. In some ways How To Disappear feels like it was plucked right out of the early 2000’s but kept today’s standards. This is an album you can get lost in. Every riff feels calculated and carries the weight of the listening experience. The album sounds dark one moment and then changes into something incredibly bright. Casey is moody and energetic. The title-track is great proof of all this. This is a band I’m glad I found out about because it’s something I feel sticks out in a good way. A band making music and not relying on a format. 8/10

Casey “Selah”
Casey “How To Disappear”

“The album “How To Disappear” by the band Casey is a triumphant return, showcasing a broader and more subtly melancholic reflection on time passed. With interwoven melody, a focused palette, and cinematic ambition, the album triumphantly reclaims the band’s throne. Emotional, confessional, and downright therapeutic, the album is a testament to Casey’s reemergence as a band. Despite some mixed opinions, the album is praised for its intent and the enormity of its presence, making it a significant release for the band’s fans and the music scene in general.” (Perplexity)

JOB FOR A COWBOY Unleashes “Beyond The Chemical Doorway”

Experimental death metallers JOB FOR A COWBOY are pleased to unleash “Beyond The Chemical Doorway,” the latest single from their long-awaited new full-length, Moon Healer, set for release on February 23rd via Metal Blade Records. The release marks the iconic outfit’s first new full-length in a decade!

Moon Healer is a vivid illustration of what happens when creativity, aggression, and volatility tangle for the first time in years. Like the band’s critically adored, 2014-released Sun Eater offering, Moon Healer is musically multifaceted, unabashedly brutal, and compellingly conceptual. Featuring a newly refreshed and reinspired lineup of frontman and co-founder Jonny Davy, guitarists Tony Sannicandro and Al Glassman, bassist Nick Schendzielos, and drummer (since 2020) Navene Koperweis, the band seamlessly picks up the mantle where Sun Eater left off.

Compared to past offerings, Moon Healer is as bone-crushing as JOB FOR A COWBOY has ever been. But it’s more consistent and conceptual, composed with the utmost enthusiasm and confidence. “The evolution of our sound has become a big part of the band,” Davy says. “As we mature as musicians, our tastes and interests naturally expand. With age comes more experience and ideas that we wouldn’t have considered in our earlier years.”

When discussing the lyrical genesis of songs like “Grinding Wheels Of Ophanim,” “Into The Crystalline Crypts,” and latest single, “Beyond The Chemical Doorway,” Davy’s writing gets cryptic and elliptical-sounding, part Philip K. Dick, part Timothy Leary. “I envision this as a death metal album born from the mystical confines of an alchemist’s laboratory. The music acts as potent potions, inducing hallucinogenic journeys that unlock the secrets of the universe.”

With “Beyond The Chemical Doorway,” Davy explores Gnosticism — an occult teaching based on Gnosis, a state of transcendence achieved through intuitive, unconventional means — by way of Hieronymus Bosch’s art. Elaborates Davy, “On Moon Healer, we unravel the dismal narrative of a close friend consumed by an unwavering pursuit of enlightenment. They achieve this through a compulsive embrace of hallucinogenic drugs. This storyline emerges from the foundation set in our earlier album, Sun Eater, delving deeper into the intricacies brewing within our friend’s psyche.

“When under the influence of these drugs,” he continues, “this individual claimed to encounter entities and find themselves in indescribable worlds that defy rational comprehension. Many who undergo such experiences draw intriguing parallels between diverse facets of Gnostic philosophy, biblical depictions of angels, and the stages of Bardo Thodol delineated in the Tibetan Book Of The Dead. In the album’s opener, ‘Beyond The Chemical Doorway,’ our friend vividly voices his hallucinations, recounting the experience of breaching forbidden, gnostic-like realms, with each account culminating in the utter unraveling of his being.”

Moon Healer was produced by Jason Suecof (Death Angel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Deicide) at his Audiohammer Studios and is the first JOB FOR A COWBOY album to feature session drummer Navene Koperweis (ex-Animosity). Davy previously worked with Koperweis in the progressive death metal side project Fleshwrought, which released Dementia/Dyslexia through Metal Blade in 2010. Koperweis also worked as a session drummer for Machine Head and Whitechapel and is currently in the band Entheos, whose third full-length came out on Metal Blade in March 2023. Bayside Shares “Castaway”

Bayside

Esteemed punk act Bayside is thrilled to share their new single “Castaway”, out now via Hopeless Records. Fans can stream the new track – the band’s first since 2023’s The Blue EP – now, here: ffm.to/baysidecastaway

About the new single, front man Anthony Raneri shares: “I think ‘Castaway’ is one of the most exciting songs that we’ve written in 24 years. We really wanted to keep the listener on their toes and on the edge of their seat. We hope that between the fast pace, odd timings, and metaphors that as soon as it’s over, you need to listen again

Fans can hear “Castaway” live for the first time on Bayside’s forthcoming North American headline tour. The Worse Things Than Being Alive Tour, kicking off on April 3rd in Pittsburgh, features support from FinchArmor For Sleep, and Winona Fighter. Raneri adds: “We’re so excited to be touring with a couple of real pioneers in this genre. It’s been close to 20 years since we played a show with either band. So excited to finally run it back.

Additional stops on The Worse Things Than Being Alive Tour include: Baltimore, Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, New York, and more. Tickets, including VIP packages, will be available this Friday, January 26th at 12pm ET. Click here for tickets & info.

For the past 22 years, Queens-based Bayside has represented a lifestyle, a counterculture, and a deeply held conviction, diverse in thought and background but united by a shared desire for authentic expression. At their core, Bayside is a band that has constantly proved that music is not about gimmicks and ephemeral trends, but a timeless reflection of our lives and our times. It is through this timelessness and consistency that they continue to cultivate a cult-following that lives and breathes everything the band creates.

Bayside has always focused on creating songs that are relevant to people who want substance, rather than being relegated to one genre. And while many bands would coast on their past success, Bayside rejects the premise and proves time and again that the best is yet to come.

In 2022, Bayside released The Red EP, marking their first new music since 2019’s Interrobang‽. The EP’s three songs saw the band refining their unique brand of punk rock even further, with powerful, hard-hitting melodies. With 2023’s The Blue EP, Bayside further honed their sound, blending heavier influences with the band’s melodic punk roots.

“Castaway” sees the band continuing to lean into their brasher side, with its breakneck pace, searing guitars, and driving percussion. Stream “Castaway” now, here, and stay tuned for more new music coming soon.

I PREVAIL TO PERFORM SPECIAL LIVE CONCERT
FOR SIRIUSXM IN NEW YORK CITY
Exclusive performance at Gramercy Theatre
on February 1 to air on SiriusXM’s Octane channel

SiriusXM today announced that GRAMMY Award-nominated rock band I PREVAIL will perform a special concert for SiriusXM on Thursday, February 1 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City. From the start, SiriusXM has been dedicated to amplifying I Prevail’s music with continued airplay on Octane, and now this intimate show will bring fans an exclusive and unique concert experience.

SiriusXM Octane Presents I Prevail, hosted by SiriusXM Octane’s Jose Mangin, will feature the band performing music from their latest album TRUE POWER,including popular songs “Bad Things,” “Deep End,” and “Closure,” as well as many other fan favorites that Octane has been first to break like “Hurricane,” “Bow Down,” and “Scars.”

SiriusXM was an early supporter with Octane breaking the band and having the world premiere of almost every single they put out. Over the years, I Prevail has continued to dominate Octane’s airwaves with the number one Big Uns Song Of The Year in 2019, exclusive performances for Octane Unleaded and Octane’s Home Invasion Festival, and multiple guest DJs and weekend takeovers.

SiriusXM subscribers can enter for a chance to win tickets to see I Prevail, PLUS have their chance to meet the band at the show. For all entry details and official rules visit www.siriusxm.com/iprevailnyc and listen to Octane on the SiriusXM app. No purchase necessary to enter or win. U.S. only/18+.

I Prevail said, “Our love and appreciation for SiriusXM’s Octane goes back nearly a decade. When we were just starting out and finding our voice, Octane gave us a chance to be heard. As we grow and evolve, Octane continues to give us unwavering support. Playing this show is the least we can do for Octane. What better way to give back than to play a show for their incredible listeners.”

SiriusXM Octane Presents I Prevail will air in its entirety on SiriusXM’s Octane (channel 37) on March 1 and will also be available to stream on the SiriusXM app.

Eligible customers can get their first three months of SiriusXM streaming for free. Click here to sign up and experience all that SiriusXM has to offer. See Offer Details.
