The Butcher Babies returned to Welcome To Rockville performing on the River stage on day two.  Promoting their latest album Lillith which dropped this past October, I was reminded why so many people love seeing Butcher Babies live.  From the opening minute they know how to rile up a crowd.  Whether it’s going up to the barricade and giving the mic to fans or just headbanging in unison amongst the band, they definitely know how to perform.

Another artist I never thought I’d get to see live (let alone shoot) is Billy Idol.  To my surprise I saw the man and his band in all his glory, full of swagger and taking his shirt off to perform for tens of thousands on day three of Welcome To Rockville.  My personal highlight was hearing “Dancing With Myself” in the photo pit and seeing a fan in the front row hold an old Billy Idol poster up during the song.

One of the bands that I am glad made a return and are still going is Thrice.  A big part of me love that is being able to hear them live.  Including songs from their latest album To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere, the band performed on the Metropolitan stage on day three at Rockville.  Thrice is about to embark on a big European tour including massive festivals and then heading to South America later this summer.

It’s a big week for Them Evils as their newest EP “Rolling Stoned and Living Free” is about to be released this Friday.  Along with that, the band is on the Monster Energy festival tour during the World’s Loudest Month.  The band played on the River stage on day one at Welcome To Rockville and brought in a no gimmick style of rock and roll.
