Covet, the Bay Area instrumental trio featuring Yvette Young, David Adamiak and Forrest Rice, release effloresce on July 13 via Triple Crown Records.
Giving fans and newcomers an early preview of the six-song offering, the band shares a video for “Shibuya.” The song features Dutch musician San Holo.
“Shibuya, located in Tokyo, is a bustling place bursting with energy. I feel this song captures the sensation of exploring a place like Shibuya and how the adventure can take you to a magical state of mind,” says Young, who has been heralded by Guitar Player(“Young’s impressive dexterity and two-handed tapping create undulating atmospheres and contrapuntal melodies for her math-rock band, Covet.”), Guitar World (inclusion in the outlet’s She Rocks collection) as well as a recent profile via Vans (http://vansgirls.tumblr.com/post/173967708384/vans-girls-music-crushes-yvette-young-some-things).
“On this recording, we experiment with different harmony,” explains Adamiak. “I believe this helps dictate the sonic change in mood and tone from Currents.” Currents is the trio’s self-released EP, an offering that brought the band international attention.

Los Angeles based Nu-Metal band Dirty Machine has released the official music video for their single, “Further From You.” Directed and edited by Ron Underwood from 9Electric, “Further From You” was produced by Ulrich Wild (Deftones, Static-X, Pantera, White Zombie, Breaking Benjamin, Limp Bizkit) and was mastered by Gentry Studer (Incubus, Deftones, 36 Crazyfist, American Head Charge, Otep).
“Even when ‘Further From You’ was in it’s early stages, we knew we had something special. It impacted everyone in the band in a different way. Any time a song does that you, you know it means something. Then when you throw producer Ulrich Wild in the mix, it’s game over.” – Dirty Machine
Built to last and refusing to follow the Indie music scene that has been dominating California, Dirty Machine has tasked themselves with bringing homegrown American Nu Metal back to the forefront of the industry. Based out of Los Angeles, the crowd this band draws has been moshing to their down-tuned rhythm since 2012. Consisting of David Leach (front man), Darren Davis (guitar, vocals), Arnold Quezada (guitar), Ben Jovi (Bass). NIGHTMARE (percussion), and DJ Ecusa (turntable); the members of Dirty Machine have brought together their eclectic musical backgrounds to form a powerhouse group that will not be fading away anytime soon.
Whether it is progressing forward with their music or thrashing around on stage, Dirty Machine is always in a state of constant motion. This is a band that does not believe in standing still. With a passionate enthusiasm for their craft which is rarely seen in today’s music, the members of Dirty Machine can make even the most standoffish crowd start head banging. Every live performance is a wildly spirited event.
Dirty Machine has done everything from headlining the Jägermeister stage at the 2016 Kansas City Rockfest to playing a sold out show at the House of Blues Sunset Strip and Viper Room. They have opened for acts such as P.O.D., Hed PE, Otep, Metalachi, Orgy and toured with Insane Clown Posse on “The Great Milenko” tour. Although they are based out of California, they are getting regular airtime on the leading Kansas City rock station 98.9fm and have been taking the state of Missouri and Michigan by storm. Dirty Machine is steadily conquering America one state at a time through their street team, rabid fan base, and the far reaching scope of internet radio.

Music Video For Debut Single “The Devil Inside” Now Available
Touring North America This Summer
New Zealand’s highest-charting rock act Like A Storm is returning with new music next month. The band is slated to release Catacombs on June 22nd via RED MUSIC. Catacombsmarks the first album from the band in three years since the release of Awaken The Fire in 2015, which spawned the hit singles “Love The Way You Hate Me,” “Become The Enemy,” “Wish You Hell” and “Break Free.” Catacombs is now available for pre-order in various configurations. Fans that order the new album digitally will receive instant downloads of “Pure Evil” and the new single “The Devil Inside.” The album and single can be ordered via all digital retailers as well as streamed here: https://red.lnk.to/Catacombs.
From the opening melody of debut single “The Devil Inside” to the closing riff of “Pure Evil,” it is apparent Like A Storm have not lost a step in writing infectious, heavy music. The Auckland-bred brothers— Chris Brooks [lead vocals, guitar, didgeridoo, keys/programming], Matt Brooks [vocals, lead guitar, keys/programming], Kent Brooks [bass, vocals, keys/programming], alongside Los Angeles drummer Zach Wood [drums, percussion] – have created a style all their own with the introduction of the didgeridoo in to harder music.
Like A Storm are no strangers to life on the road as they tour constantly to bring their music to the masses. 2018 will be no different as the band has been tapped to be direct support on the summer co-headline tour of Godsmack and Shinedown. The tour will be making stops throughout the United States and tickets are selling fast.
Referred to by Slash/Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy as “the hardest working band in rock”, Like A Storm is regarded as one of the most prolific young acts out there. With the release of 2015’s Awaken The Fire, the band built a loyal and devoted fan base through a series of hit singles and constant touring the world over. The band looks to continue that trend with the release of their latest album, Catacombs in 2018. Like A Storm write, perform, record and produce all of their albums themselves.
Meet Sam, Brooke, and Jimmy – 3 best friends. Their favorite things to do are play 007 Golden Eye on Nintendo 64, talk about their favorite messy projects in science class, and most of all raid abandoned construction sites for what they consider to be treasure (i.e. wood, nails, screws and the occasional tool). They used to play Mario Kart more than 007 but all agreed that it made them too stressed out (especially Jimmy). They all became close friends by finding a common bond. You see, what first felt like rejection ended up being the road that led them to each other. Being an outcast brought them together which quickly felt like true friendship. The kind of friendship that matters – not status, not perfect grades, and not caring what is considered cool or not. They loved how different each of them were and always encouraged each other’s individuality.
It was the first day of summer break. Sam’s older brother, Troy, and his high school clique were celebrating with one of their typical parties. As if they didn’t throw these parties all year already, summer was just another excuse. Also Troy and Sam’s parents were away at the lake for the weekend so the opportunity to break all the rules was there. Sam, Brooke, and Jimmy hated summer with a passion. They felt too insecure for the big social gatherings, bathing suits, partying and all the other stuff they didn’t relate to or understand the point of. It just seemed like a waste of time to them. Plus from past experiences, they usually were made to feel unwelcome. That’s probably the reason this party triggered them the most. They felt it was time to show they were proud of the weird little family they became. Anti-Social to some but best friends to each other.
Feeling inspired by one of their clever heroes Kevin McAlister from the Christmas classic Home Alone, combined with some of their favorite scenes from the old box of horror VHS tapes they found; Sam, Brooke, and Jimmy had all they needed to devise the ultimate prank. Unfortunately for Troy and his clique, Sam, Brooke, and Jimmy never really learned what it meant to go too far. Movies are fantasy but this was real life.
Check out what happens when three outcasts take on the “cool kids” at the start of the summer in New Found Glory’s recently released music video for “Call Me Anti-Social”, here: http://smarturl.it/CMAVideo. The track is from the band’s 9th Studio Album, Makes Me Sick, which was released last Spring. In addition to the music video, New Found Glory has announced they are releasing a deluxe version of the album called Makes Me Sick Again. Featuring 3 new tracks, the album is available in exclusive vinyl variants today at http://smarturl.it/NFGmerch.

Coming off a successful run featuring massive performances at America’s largest active rock festivals (Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion), Australian metal band Parkway Drive have announced that they will return to North America this fall. Globally praised for their powerful live show, the band will kick off their headlining run on August 30 in San Diego, CA and wrap on September 23 with their largest North American headline show to date in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, May 18 at 10am local time. For more information visit http://parkwaydriverock.com/.
Parkway Drive will perform in support of their sixth studio album Reverence (May 4 via Epitaph). Produced by longtime Parkway Drive sound engineer George Hadjichristou, Reverence arrives as the follow-up to 2015’s acclaimed IRE. Reverence is the band’s most sonically adventurous album and the most personal from the Byron Bay group. With its barrage of heart-shredding anthems, the album was closely informed by a series of tragedies the band had endured over the past few years.
“Reverence‘s 10 tracks, are staggering, and make for the metalcore act’s
most personal, ambitious and cathartic album to date.” – Revolver
“A defiant release that finds Parkway’s horizons expanding like never before.” – NME

It’s only been one week since Shinedown’s latest album Attention Attention! came out but we already are seeing the effects of massive crowds singing along and praising the band for their newest work. This was my first time seeing the band since 2016 and they have definitely improved their stage show with amazing projection/prism lights along with plenty of pyro. Hearing songs from the new album and my personal favorite The Sound Of Madness made me remember how impressive Shinedown is live.

Alice In Chains returned to St. Louis to headline Pointfest 2018 at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in St. Louis, MO. Just over a week ago we received the news that a new album would be coming and that the first single “The One You Know” is available now. This was my first time since 2013 seeing Alice In Chains and it still impresses me just how strong their sound is 25 years after the heyday of grunge.
