SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS will release their new album titled LIVING THE DREAM on September 21 via SLASH’s own label Snakepit Records, in partnership with RoadrunnerRecords. The group unleashed “Driving Rain”–the first single off LIVING THE DREAM—today, to radio. Watch the trailer HERE and purchase the new song digitally HERE.

SLASH describes the creation of “Driving Rain,” “This is a riff I specifically remember playing with the guys for the first time at a venue in New Hampshire on the World on Fire tour. It’s a cool guitar part we ran though, and from that point forward the rest of the song started to come together in my mind while on the road. We put it all together this year and Myles came up with a great melody for it.” MYLES KENNEDY adds, “The riff is very reminiscent of vintage Aerosmith. It’s got a certain funk to it that’s compelling. Lyrically, it’s a story about somebody who works on the road–it could be a musician, and it could be a traveling salesman. What makes it interesting is this guy has an addict girlfriend or spouse who continues to relapse, and she ends up getting him to come home. She’s miserable and falls back into bad old habits, and that compels him to head back to her to save the day.”

LIVING THE DREAM is SLASH’s fourth solo album, and third with SLASH and his bandmates MYLES KENNEDY (Vocals), BRENT FITZ (Drums), TODD KERNS (Bass & Vocals) and FRANK SIDORIS(Guitar & Vocals). Today, Wednesday, July 25 the band has launched a physical pre-order in the following formats for LIVING THE DREAM including: a limited edition Deluxe Premium 2LP Yellow Vinyl within a Premium “Living The Dream” Vinyl-size 20 page Hardback Book, an exclusive one- sided 7” single of “Driving Rain” featuring an etching on the B-side with a special set of SLASH guitar picksStandard Digital and Physical CD albumposter as well as a limited-edition T-shirt and Hoodie are available. To view a variety of the LIVING THE DREAM CD/merchandise bundles available now, go to: http://www.slashonline.com.

The band has also unveiled the album cover art and tracklisting for LIVING THE DREAM. The artwork was created by renowned visual artist Ron English. View the cover art and tracklisting below.

  7. Slow Grind
  8. The One You Loved Is Gone

For LIVING THE DREAMSLASH and his band re-teamed with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Iggy Pop, Incubus) on the powerful 12 song collection. The band’s previous albums World On Fire and Apocalyptic Love, debuted in the Top Ten on 12 charts globally, spawned three #1 hit singles at U.S. Rock Radio and earned worldwide praise garnering SLASH some of the best critical acclaim of his career. World On Fire was tagged by Guitar World as “another bold and unapologetically riffy statement” and “a varied, immersive and incredibly hard rocking effort”(December 2014). Rolling Stone described Apocalyptic Love–the band’s debut album–as “filled with head bangers and plenty of fancy fretwork” and Revolver declared it “a collection of lean, high-octane rock-and-roll tunes built to be blasted out of open-top sports cars, or more suitably, open-air stadiums” (May 2012).

The group’s North American headlining tour begins September 13 in Los Angeles visiting 20 major cities including New York, Denver, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, DC (Silver Spring, MD), Chicago (New Buffalo, MI), Austin, Houston, and more before ending October 14 in Sacramento (all dates below). Judas Priest Unleash Music Video For “No Surrender”

Judas Priest’s latest studio album, Firepower, was released March 9, 2018, via Epic Records. Co-produced by Tom Allom and Andy Sneap, the 14-track album has become one of the most successful of the band’s entire career – landing in the “top-5” of 17 countries (including their highest chart placement ever in the U.S.), and scoring their highest charting commercial rock radio single in decades with “Lightning Strike” (for which a music video was also filmed).

“No Surrender’ captures the true metal fighting spirit and metalheads around the world find a united voice within the message of this song,” says the band. “When you honestly believe in yourself and live your life the way you have the right to with no surrender, then nothing will ever stop you from living your dream.”

Few heavy metal bands have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest have during their near 50-year career, and with a line-up featuring Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Richie Faulkner, Ian Hill, and Scott Travis, Judas Priest will be scorching across North America with some heavy metal Firepower again this summer and fall on tour with Deep Purple! I was introduced to Australian metalcore at Warped Tour, something I hadn’t really thought about having a scene in the land down under.  In Hearts Wake left a good impression on me with the amount of energy they put out, getting the crowd into the show, and looking to be really enjoying their time on stage.  It’s rare to find a band that can do all three in one performance, let alone do it well in a 30 minute performance.

BAND ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR DATES

Alkaline Trio announce a new album Is This Thing Cursed? that is to be released on CD/digital on August 31 and on vinyl on October 19. Pre-orders are available now at: http://www.alkalinetrio.com This is the band’s 9th studio release and their first new music in 5 years.

Watch the video for the band’s new song “Blackbird”:

Produced and mixed by Cameron Webb, Is This Thing Cursed? is the first Alkaline Trio album written almost entirely in the studio. It’s when the songs began to come together that the band noticed the new material forming parallels with Maybe I’ll Catch Fire. According to the band, Is This Thing Cursed? is a cousin or sibling to Fire. Co-lead vocalist and bassist Dan Andriano explains, “the songwriting process is almost like what it was back in the day. We would just kind of write a song, be excited about it, then move on. We wrote in that spirit in the studio. I really feel like we made a record that the old school fans are going to dig.”

In June, Alkaline Trio announced a headlining US tour. Co-lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Skiba notes, “Some people thought we were done. We announced a tour and a lot of the shows are already sold out. Nobody knows that we made a new record. It’s not unlike getting somebody that you care about something extra super special for their birthday and you’re really excited to give it to them. It feels kind of like that.”

The August dates begin August 3 in Dallas, TX at The Bomb Factory and go throughout August 26 in Orlando, FL at House of Blues. The second leg picks-up on October 4 in Santa Ana, CA at The Observatory and will conclude on October 18 on Santa Cruz, at The Catalyst. Together PANGEA is on the tour as support.

Last year’s inaugural Moto Beach Classic was a one-day festival where, from sunup to sundown, SeaLegs at the Beach in Bolsa Chica was at capacity and filled with lovers of all types of creativity and counterculture. At any given moment, engines could be heard on the purpose-built hooligan flat track, while waves crashed along the shore. Live music echoed throughout until the doors closed on what many thought was one of the most entertaining and authentic moto events to hit the coast of California in years. The full live broadcast from last year’s event can be seen here:

CKY Release “Wiping Off the Dead” Music Video

CKY RELEASE “WIPING OFF THE DEAD” MUSIC VIDEO

ON TOUR THIS SUMMER WITH SLAVES,
ROYAL THUNDER, & AWAKEN I AM

NEW LP THE PHOENIX OUT NOW

CKY (Chad I Ginsburg, Jess Margera and Matt Deis) have released a brand new music video for their track, “Wiping Off The Dead” from their most recent LP,The Phoenix. Directed by Dave Causa, this is the third music video we’ve seen from the band off their current release.

“Our good friend Dave Causa filmed us rehearsing for our UK tour last summer and the end result was us making a badass music video,” says drummer Jess Margera. “It was filmed before we ever played a single show for the release of our album. Thank you, Dave, and thank you CKY alliance! Enjoy this great video from the archives.”

CKY is headed back out on the road this summer on a co-headlining run with SLAVES and additional support coming from Royal Thunder and Awaken I Am. Tickets and a limited number of VIP meet and greet packages are available now. VIP packages will include meet and greets, exclusive merch items, autographs and more. The band will also be doing highlighted performances on select festival dates such as Lollapalooza, Sturgis bike rally, Psycho Las Vegas, and Blue Ridge Rockfest!

CKY released The Phoenix last summer via Entertainment One (eOne). The all-new LP is the first release since the band put out Carver City in 2009. The album was engineered and mixed at Rancho De La Luna, the highly regarded recording studio in Joshua Tree, CA.

The band initially released the “Replaceable” single earlier last summer exclusively via SiriusXM’s OCTANE channel, “Head For A Breakdown” via CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND and “Days Of Self Destruction” (Feat. Brent Hinds) before that. All can be streamed below.

Last October, CKY released a music video for the single “Head For A Breakdown,” directed by The Costa Sisters. The video was shot in and around London during the band’s near sell-out run earlier last year. Previously, their music video for “Replaceable” was released exclusively via LOUDWIRE and produced/directed by JOFFco.

Photos: TONIGHT ALIVE at Warped Tour in St. Louis, MO 7/3/2018

Tonight Alive performed on the Journey’s Right Foot Stage on an extremely sweaty afternoon in St. Louis.  The band is promoting their latest album Underworld which came out earlier this year.  The album has received praise and features vocal support from big names including Corey Taylor & Lynn Gunn.  This was my second time seeing the band from down under (the first being at Warped Tour 2016).  While there was a recent lineup change it looked like the band still knew how to perform on all cylinders.  Everyone looked comfortable on stage and was enjoying the final Warped Tour.

Tonight Alive will be continuing on Warped Tour throughout the summer.  You can keep up to date with the band on their Facebook page here: Tonight Alive on Facebook

Album Review: Hopesfall – Arbiter

A review on Arbiter, the fifth studio album and first in over ten years from North Carolina’s Hopesfall.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_iKJgNTPQk

Hopesfall is an American post-hardcore band from CharlotteNorth Carolina formed in 1998. They are currently signed to Equal Vision Records. The band dissolved in 2008 after all members, with the exception of singer Jay Forrest, left the band, following this the lineup of the band’s first two albums got together temporarily and played reunion shows in 2011. The band finally reformed with the majority of their last album’s members and original drummer Adam Morgan in 2016 with a new label Equal Vision Records and their new album Arbiter is set for release on July 13th, 2018.

Arbiter is the fifth studio album by American post-hardcore band Hopesfall. The album, the band’s first since 2007’s Magnetic North, was released on July 13, 2018 through Graphic Nature / Equal Vision Records.

Album Review: Deafheaven – Ordinary Corrupt Human Love

A review on Deafheaven’s fourth full album Ordinary Corrupt Human Love.

Deafheaven are an American heavy metal band formed in 2010. Originally based in San Francisco, the group began as a two-piece with singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy, who recorded and self-released a demo album together. Following its release, Deafheaven recruited three new members and began to tour. Before the end of 2010, the band signed to Deathwish Inc. and later released their debut album Roads to Judah, in April 2011. A follow-up album, Sunbather, was released in 2013 to wide critical acclaim, becoming one of the most praised albums of the year in the United States. In 2015 the band released their third album, New Bermuda.

Ordinary Corrupt Human Love is the fourth studio album by American blackgaze band Deafheaven, released on July 13, 2018 through Anti-. The title of the album was inspired by Graham Greene‘s 1951 novel The End of the Affair.
