“After having the pleasure of destroying stages all over Australia with the Parkway guys just over a month ago, we couldn’t be more stoked to share the stage with them once again, this time in the States,” said KsE frontman Jesse Leach. “Parkway Drive puts on an incredible live show and we are excited to combine forces and bring the energy every night to a town near you. I am absolutely certain fans of both bands are in for a hell of a time. This will be one for the memories for sure — let’s rage!”

“This co-headlining tour with Killswitch Engage is a landmark for Parkway Drive in North America,” said Parkway Drive’s frontman Winston McCall. “Having smashed our way across the land for over a decade now, it is a humbling and defining moment to be sharing this slot with true heavy metal icons and personal heroes. ABOUT KILLSWITCH ENGAGE:
Formed in 1999 out of western Massachusetts, Killswitch Engage are often credited as one of the most influential metal acts in the last 20 years. Twice Grammy-nominated, they’ve sold over 3 million records worldwide, with The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies both certified Gold in the U.S. The band has enjoyed multiple Top 10-charting albums, with 2016’s Incarnatelanding at #6 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on the Current Rock Albums chart, and debuting at #1 overall in Canada, #5 in Australia, and #10 in both the UK and Germany, a testament to the band’s international reach.

As co-founders of Killswitch Engage, guitarist/backing vocalist Adam Dutkiewicz, guitarist Joel Stroetzel, bassist Mike D’Antonio, and lead vocalist Jesse Leach (who returned four years ago after a decade-long absence) together with longtime drummer Justin Foley continue to make trend-resistant, timeless heavy music that feeds the soul, touches the heart, and strengthens the mind. Spending much of their career on the road, Killswitch Engage have enjoyed premium slots on major U.S. tours, including OzzFest, Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest, Music As a Weapon, and Trespass America, as well as countless international festivals around the globe. Having shared the stage with acts ranging from Rise Against to Slayer, the diversity and versatility of their touring is unparalleled.

Their songs have been featured on Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, John Madden, the Resident Evil III soundtrack, and as entrance music for WWE wrestling champ CM Punk. The band’s compelling history can be seen in their latest release, Beyond the Flames: Home Video Vol II, a treasure trove of gripping content, containing 3.5 hours of footage, including a 75-minute documentary that chronicles the return of original vocalist Leach after nearly a decade away from the band he helped form, as well as tons of live footage from around the globe. The band recently announced its signing to Metal Blade Records, with a new album planned for 2019.

ABOUT PARKWAY DRIVE:
The five-piece metal band from Byron Bay, Australia formed in 2002. The band features vocalist Winston McCall, guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling, bassist Jia O’Connor, and drummer Ben Gordon. For more than a decade, the band has stood at the forefront of heavy music worldwide, matching their uncompromising urgency with a powerful musicality. Parkway Drive has released six studio albums, all on Epitaph: Killing with a Smile (2005), Horizons (2007), Deep Blue (2010), Atlas (2012), IRE (2015), and Reverence (2018). The band has also released two platinum-selling DVDs, one EP, a split album with I Killed The Prom Queen, and one book.

Reverence, produced by longtime Parkway Drive sound engineer George Hadjichristou, is the band’s most sonically adventurous album and their most personal album to date. With its barrage of heart-shredding anthems, the album was closely informed by a series of tragedies the band had endured over the past few years. Reverence debuted in the US at #2 Current Hard Music, #34 Billboard Top 200 and #2 Current Rock Albums. The album debuted #1 in Australia and recently won the 2018 ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album.

Cane Hill Drop New Video For “Acid Rain”

CANE HILL DROP “ACID RAIN” VIDEO
BAND TO RELEASE KILL THE SUN ON JANUARY 18, 2019 VIA RISE RECORDS
BAND TOURING WITH SEVENDUST THIS WINTER

New Orleans four-piece Cane Hill will release a brand new record titled Kill the Sun via Rise Records on January 18, 2019.

The band has just shared the new video for the trippy track “Acid Rain.” Watch it here.

Cane Hill previously shared the video for the title track, which is a brilliant and unexpected artistic left turn. Watch it here.

“We spent the summer working on new Cane Hill music,” the band said. “We’ve embraced the weirder and mellower side of what we do, as it’s something we think is important to our band. With that in mind, we’ve been in the studio with the incredibly talented Kris Crummett, working on music that embellishes those elements. It’s six songs of dark, twisted, and semi-acoustic beauty. We’re incredibly proud of it and can’t wait for you to hear it.”

The band continued, “We wanted to embrace some leftover emotions we’ve been dealing with since getting our shit together while exploring our own musical limitations. We made this semi-acoustic record because we needed to for ourselves — and because honestly, why the fuck not?”

Cane Hill will hit the road again this winter supporting Sevendust. All confirmed Cane Hill dates are below.

Within Temptation Announce 2019 North American Tour Dates, New Album “Resist” Now Out February 1

WITHIN TEMPTATION ANNOUNCE 2019 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES
NEW ALBUM, RESIST, NOW SET FOR RELEASE ON FEBRUARY 1

WITHIN TEMPTATION — the leaders of dark anthems, with a career spanning two decades — have announced their 2019 North American tour plans. The band will embark on a tour of the U.S. and Canada this coming winter. The tour kicks off February 28 in Baltimore and runs through March 19 in Los Angeles. The trek makes several stops in Canada.

Special guests will be In Flames and Smash Into Pieces. All confirmed tour dates are below.

The band will now release its new album Resist on February 1 via Spinefarm in the U.S.

Check out the latest video for “Raise Your Banner,” featuring In Flames singer Anders Friden, and listen to the first single “The Reckoning,” featuring Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach.

Resist marks a departure from Within Temptation’s past. The record is armed with 10 anthemic tracks, driven by grand melodies and dark hooks. It brings a futuristic take on metal to the table — both instrumentally and thematically. “Resist is a true milestone for us. If it wasn’t for Resist, Within Temptation wouldn’t be here anymore,” the band stated.

“With this record, we’ve taken inspiration from modern music and gave it a face — a very dark one,” said singer Sharon den Adel. “Sometimes, it feels that today’s pop music lacks a rebellious edge. Our main goal was to collect pieces from sounds we did like and roughen it up as much as we could, resulting in a surprisingly new musical world that is heavier, dirtier and more futuristic than we’ve ever created before. Resistis our take on metal in a new way: to give modern music its rebellious edge.”

Pre-order Resist here.

Dream Theater Release Debut Track “Untethered Angel” From Upcoming Album Distance Over Time

FROM THEIR 14th STUDIO ALBUM DISTANCE OVER TIME

NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT https://dream-theater.lnk.to/DistanceOverTime

Band To Embark on The Distance Over Time Tour

of North America Beginning March 2019

Two-time Grammy-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans Dream Theater have released the first song from their recently announced 14th studio album, Distance Over Time. “Untethered Angel” is the first new song from the album slated for worldwide release on February 22, 2019. The new single is quintessential Dream Theater and takes the listener on a musical journey that cements the band’s place as the premier progressive metal band around today. Watch the video for “Untethered Angel” here: https://youtu.be/gylxuO6dKOw.

“During the writing and recording process of D/T, ‘Untethered Angel’ was known as ‘Song 4’ to all of us as it was the 4th song written during the sessions. However, there has always been something about this track that just begged for it to be the album opener, even long before all of the songs were written,” explains John Petrucci. “Fear is something that rears its ugly head at some point or another in all of our lives. Fear of the unknown, fear of taking chances, fear of making mistakes. If we are not careful, it can be debilitating and sadly prevent us from realizing our true potential. The world we live in can be a scary place and the thought of an uncertain future a terrifying notion, especially for today’s young people. Untethering from that fear and giving yourself up to the future’s countless possibilities is what will ultimately set you free.’”

Distance Over Time showcases a newfound creativity for Dream Theater while maintaining the elements that have garnered them devoted fans around the globe. The album also marks the first for the band’s new label InsideOutMusic / Sony Music. The artwork was created by long-time cover collaborator Hugh Syme (Rush, Iron Maiden, Stone Sour). Distance Over Time was produced by John Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker. The latest addition to Dream Theater’s impressive catalog is now available for pre-order in various configurations at: https://dream-theater.lnk.to/DistanceOverTime.

Distance Over Time will be available as: Standard CD Jewel Case, Special Edition Digipak (incl. 1 bonus track), 180g Gatefold 2LP Edition (incl. 1 bonus track, an 8-page-LP-booklet & the entire album on CD), Ltd. In June 2018, Dream Theater secluded themselves in a private location in upstate New York to begin writing for the new record. While spending the summer living together in the property’s adjacent residence, the band spent their days and nights crafting the music that would make up the new album in the ‘Yonderbarn’; a beautiful and spacious barn that had been meticulously transformed into a state-of-the art film and recording studio. Following an intense & extremely productive period of group writing sessions and wanting to retain the magic that was captured in this scenic and inspiring location, they decided to record the album in the very room they had all convened to write together in. Living together during the writing and recording for Distance Over Time marked another first for the band’s 33-year career. The result is a heavier collection of songs that showcases the early roots of the band while exploring new territory as musicians and as friends.

Dream Theater is also planning to hit the road in support of the new album. The Distance Over Time Tour of North America was recently announced and kicks off on March 20, 2019 in San Diego, CA. The tour will run for seven weeks before wrapping up in Mexico City on May 4, 2019.

Information on tickets for all upcoming shows as well as VIP packages can be found at www.dreamtheater.net. More tour dates for the worldwide tour will be announced in the near future.
