On the heels of the recent announcement of their 12th full-length studio album Damned If You Do, Metal Church have released the first music video for the title track “Damned If You Do.” The song is quintessential Metal Church and showcases the sound that has garnered the band fans all around the globe with its driving guitar riffs, punishing drum beat and instantly recognizable vocals. The west coast metal veterans will release their latest studio album Damned If You Do via Rat Pak Records on December 7, 2018 and will also be available in Europe via Nuclear Blast and Japan via KING Records. From the haunting opener “Damned If You Do” to the final hard-edged track “The War Electric,” this new album is sure to resonate with Metal Church fans from the band’s early years while garnering new ones. Damned If You Do also features new drummer Stet Howland (ex WASP / Lita Ford). Stet first arrived after the departure of long-time drummer Jeff Plate, but soon after joining the band was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Miraculously his treatments for the aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma worked and he was able to begin recording the new album.

Speaking on the new single and video, Stet Howland comments: “From my first listen of the ‘Damned If You Do” demo, I was blown away. From Mike’s ‘hummm’ intro to Kurdt’s bad ass guitar riff to the infectious chorus, I was hooked!! If I were any more excited people would have to call me ‘shit legs’. Ha Ha Ha.”

Born out of the West Coast Metal scene of the 80’s, Metal Church quickly became one of the standout talents of the genre. After signing a deal with Elektra records, they released two critically acclaimed albums, their self-titled release Metal Church and The Dark. With the heavy metal scene starting to rise in the U.S., Metal Church set out on a very successful tour with label mates Metallica. They tackled political and social issues of the day with the releases of Blessing In Disguise and The Human Factor. At a time when heavy metal bands moved from the underground and became part of the hair band/pop fad, Metal Church stayed true to their roots. In March of 2016 Metal Church released their eleventh studio album XI that reached #57 on the Billboard top 200 and also landed on several other charts around the globe.

Album Review: Greta Van Fleet – Anthem Of The Peaceful Army

A review on Anthem Of The Peaceful Army, the debut full album from Michigan’s Greta Van Fleet.

Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. It consists of vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner.  The band’s heavy rock sound is said to be heavily influenced by the work of Led Zeppelin although they are mostly influenced by traditional artists from blues, soul, funk and folk music, along with many other rock acts.

Anthem of the Peaceful Army is the upcoming debut studio album by American rock band Greta Van Fleet. The album is scheduled for release on October 19, 2018, and follows the band’s original two EPreleases, Black Smoke Rising and From the Fires. The first single, “When the Curtain Falls“, was released in July 2018.

Fresh off their late summer/early fall headline North American tour, Blessthefall have dropped the visually majestic video for “Wishful Sinking.” The video, which is bathed in purple tones, pulsates with the band’s performance energy.

“‘Wishful Sinking’ is a particularly special song because it was the first one we wrote with our producer Tyler Smyth,” said singer Beau Bokan. “For us, the song is a perfect blend of our new direction and old blessthefall. With the music video we wanted to incorporate some amazing visuals and keep the aesthetic of the album. I think we nailed it.”

The band’s latest record Hard Feelings is out now via Rise Records.

BAND ANNOUNCES WINTER 2019 TOUR WITH NOTHING MORE

Of Mice & Men released their critically acclaimed album Defy in January 2018 via Rise Records. The band is already hard at work on new material and  have entered the studio with producer Josh Wilbur (Trivium, Lamb of God, Gojira).

“We’re super pumped to be in the studio with Josh, as we’re all big fans of his production and mix discography,” said singer and guitarist Aaron Pauley. “When we decided to go heavier with this album, Josh’s was one of the first names to pop up — and I can tell you, we’re a little over halfway done and it’s sounding huge and heavy, heavenly and absolutely demonic — all rolled into one.”

The band will spend Fall 2018 on tour in Europe with Bullet for My Valentine. OM&M will hit the road for a U.S. tour with Nothing More in Winter 2019.

“We’re excited to have also announced that we’re touring the U.S. next year with Nothing More. Come to a show, and bang your head,” Pauley said.

The tour kicks off on February 21 in Phoenix and runs through March 23 in San Antonio. Those dates are below.

Following an earth-shattering appearance at this weekend’s Rock Allegiance Festival in the cesspool known as Camden, NJ your Lords and Masters GWAR kicked off the Gore, Core and More Tour last night with co-headliners Hatebreed.  Find a complete list of dates below.

High on Fire is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California, that was formed in 1998. Matt Pike, the band’s frontman and founder, also plays guitar for the influential stoner metal band Sleep.

Electric Messiah is the upcoming eighth studio album by American metal band High on Fire, set for release on October 5, 2018 through Entertainment One Music. It is the band’s third album to be produced by Kurt Ballou, and it serves as a tribute to Lemmy Kilmister of the band Motörhead. On August 6, 2018, Electric Messiah’s title track was released early for streaming.

Today, Papa Roach released two new songs from their forthcoming [as yet untitled] 10th studio album, “Renegade Music” and “Who Do You Trust?”, plus the official music video for the first single “Who Do You Trust?”.

The tracks see Papa Roach continuing to push their momentum with bonafide rock anthems and fearsome hooks. Frontman Jacoby Shaddix explains, “This song is a statement of engagement – In this day and age, who do you trust? The message of the song is to think for yourself and to trust in yourself, and the imagery of the song matches that. It’s the sea of information, all of if slightly out of focus – and you’re left floating in trying to decide for yourself. Who do you trust?”

Starset’s “My Demons” Is Certified Gold

STARSET’S “MY DEMONS” CERTIFIED GOLD BY THE RIAA

“My Demons,” a fan favorite by visionary media collective STARSET and their first message to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, has been certified Gold by the RIAA. Appearing on the band’s debut album Transmissions, the epic single peaked at #2 on rock radio and now has over 68 million streams on Spotify and over 150 million aggregate YouTube views.

It’s the unique vision and goals of founder, frontman, and aural architect Dustin Bates that have truly allowed Starset, who are part-cinematic rock band and part-conceptual storytelling unit, to flourish. Bates is not only an audio alchemist but also a PhD candidate in electrical engineering. He has conducted research for the U.S. Air Force and has also taught at the International Space University in France — he is actively dedicated to promoting science to a wider audience. The band was also the subject of its own Marvel graphic novel The Prox Transmissions.

Thanks to the music and the sci-fi concept, along with the videos, novels, websites, and “can’t miss” live shows, Starset are blurring the line between art and science, offering fans a fully immersive experience that is truly unlike any other.

The band just released Vessels 2.0 on September 28. The deluxe version of last year’s sophomore effort Vessels includes reimagined, acoustic, and remixed versions of songs, along with an unexpected cover, for a total of nine new tracks.
