ROTTING CHRIST have reached another peak in their long career that now spans over more than three decades. The Greeks have literally stood the test of time. With a steady core line-up and their well-honed live delivery, ROTTING CHRIST are filling concert halls and reap enthusiastic crowd reactions wherever they go. This demonstration of love from their followers is not just driven by nostalgia as the band has managed to evolve and grow, while staying relevant beyond the classics with their highly acclaimed latest albums such as ‘Aealo’ (2010), ‘Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού’ (2013), and ‘Rituals’ (2016).

Now, with the new offering ‘The Heretics’, ROTTING CHRIST are opening a brand new chapter. With confidence and skills derived from experience, each song represents its own sonic universe. Guitarist and vocalist Sakis Tolis in collaboration with his brother Themis on drums achieve a perfect balance of amalgamating their classic and unique style of riffing and rhythm with exciting new elements sprinkled in to keep their material exciting and fresh. The experienced is enhanced by Jens Bogren’s equally clear and transparent yet also massive as well as sombre mix and mastering at his widely renowned Fascination Street Studios (AMORPHIS, BORKNAGAR, MOONSPELL, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and many more).

ROTTING CHRIST were founded by Sakis Tolis and his brother Themis in the year 1987. Starting out on a basis of death and grind, the Greeks had already embarked on a darker musical journey by the time their debut full-length ‘Thy Mighty Contract’ (1993) was revealed. On the following seven albums covering a ten-year period from ‘Non Serviam’ (1994) to ‘Sanctus Diavolos’ (2004),ROTTING CHRIST steadily defined their own distinct style by experimenting with elements from death, heavy, and gothic metal without betraying their black roots. At the same time, the band went from underground heroes to headliner status. With the highly acclaimed ninth album, ‘Theogonia’ (2007), the Greek stalwarts added an unmistakable native element to their sound, which has remained with them as a signature trademark ever since. Exploring the mythical legacy of cultures around the globe led to ROTTING CHRIST‘s massively successful latest release, ‘Rituals’ (2016). With more than 30 years, 13 studio albums, a dozen EPs, singles and split releases, as well as more than 1.250 shows under their belt, 2018 marked the year of ‘Their Greatest Spells’ (2018), where they musically revisited their exciting legacy to connect their past with the present.

‘The Heretics’ marks another step in the evolution of the Greek masters. Buckle up for a fascinating musical ride through the woes of religious wars, Zoroastrianism and the eternal war between good and evil.  Metal at its best!

The Interrupters Share “Gave You Everything” Video

The Interrupters Premiere Video For “Gave You Everything”

“Dynamo singer Aimee will cool you off with her gravelly chops and punky petulance.” – Billboard

“One of the catchiest, most fun modern ska-punk bands around.” – Brooklyn Vegan

Today, ska-punk band The Interrupters premiere their new video for radio single “Gave You Everything” at YouTube. Aimee Interrupter explains, “’Gave You Everything’ is a celebration of the moment when you overcome heartbreak, and the person who hurt and betrayed you can’t hurt you anymore – and it’s a true story!”

Watch the video for “Gave You Everything” now:

As highlighted by Billboard, The Interrupters are the first female-fronted band with an Alternative Radio hit since No Doubt. Their song “She’s Kerosene” charted #5 at Alternative Radio in US, #1 Alternative in Canada, and #1 Modern Rock in Canada. The video for “She’s Kerosene” currently holds 7.5+ million streams at Spotify and 6.5+ million video views at YouTube.

In addition to their radio success, Fight the Good Fight debuted on the Billboard charts on first week release as #1 Heatseekers, #2 Independent Record Label Album, #5 Current Rock, and #5 Current Alternative Album. Additionally, Alt-Rock radio single is the #1 Most Added on Alternative Radio.

Fight the Good Fight was produced by longtime collaborator, Rancid frontman, and Grammy Award-winning producer Tim Armstrong with the band at Ship-Rec Recorders in Los Angeles. The album was mixed by Grammy-award winning mixer Tom Lord-Alge (Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Weezer).

The follow-up to 2015’s Say It Out LoudFight the Good Fight finds The Interrupters delivering their two-tone-inspired, powerfully melodic, punk-fueled sound with more vitality than ever before. With Armstrong and Alge at the helm, Aimee and the Bivona brothers channeled the raw energy of their lives shows by recording almost entirely to tape. “There’s a certain feeling you get from that process that you can’t really get digitally,” says guitarist Kevin. “There’s no overthinking anything—everyone’s got to be fully present and committed. It was definitely high-pressure, but also really fun.”

The Interrupters will play at Coachella in Indio, CA this April. Additionally, The Interrupters will embark on a headline tour across North America with several dates already sold-out. For every ticket sold, The Interrupters will donate $1 per ticket to MusiCares. For full tour dates see below.

Formed in 2011, The Interrupters came together when the Bivona brothers (guitarist Kevin Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, drummer Jesse Bivona) found themselves on bills with Aimee during a 2009 tour. With their self-titled debut arriving in 2014, the band soon shared stages with bands like Rancid, Blink-182, and Bad Religion. The Interrupters embarked on a world tour in support of the release, headlining their own shows as well as supporting Green Day in Europe, Australia and South America, solidifying the band’s status as a dynamic force on the stage.

“Hell And You”

U.S. Tour With Dropkick Murphys Starts This Weekend, February 15th

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, dark folk artist AMIGO THE DEVIL sends his sentiments with a serenading video playthrough of his fan-favorite and critically acclaimed single, “Hell And You” which has amassed over 1.3 million streams on Spotify and has sparked its own cult following of sorts with hundreds of fans inking their skins with its lyrics.

Inviting you to join him for a solo performance in the grotto behind his house, AMIGO THE DEVIL entices viewers with menacing glances matching the strum of each banjo note as he croons, “I’d rot in hell with you, if you’d just ask me to.” And if you’ve ever been to an AMIGO THE DEVIL show, you can probably imagine hearing a crowd of people merrily and carefreely chanting alongside him as he continues, “I love the sh*tty things we do together, live with me in this sin forever, Hell and you.”

Combining elements of singer/songwriter, folk and country music with the dark and gruesome thematic of rock/metal, AMIGO THE DEVIL (born under the name Danny Kiranos) has been extensively touring the U.S. with his one man show in support of his debut full-length studio album, Everything Is Fine, which debuted at #27 on Billboard’s Americana Folk charts. High On Fire Win Grammy For Best Metal Performance

High On Fire Wins Grammy For Best Metal Performance
Electric Messiah Out Now

High On Fire took home the GRAMMY for “Best Metal Performance” last night at the 61st annual Grammy awards ceremony in Los Angeles, the music industry’s only peer-recognized accolade and highest achievement.

This was the band’s first nomination and first win. HIGH ON FIRE was nominated for“Electric Messiah,” the title track off their 2018 album of the same name. The band, now as winners, join the ranks of past winners such as Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Metallica and Slayer.

“We never really needed an award for doing what we love,” says frontman Matt Pike.“Twenty-one years later, we finally got this. Thank you to the Academy.” Pike went on to thank producer Kurt Ballou among others. Bassist Jeff Matz sent out a heartfelt shoutout to long-time manager and friend Nick John who passed away last year and who was an instrumental figure in the band’s success.

High On Fire released Electric Messiah last year to some serious critical acclaim. The A.V. Club stated that “The bar for metal album of the year has been raised” and they couldn’t be more correct. Electric Messiah has landed on a myriad of 2018 year-end lists including A.V. ClubRevolverLoudwire and Consequence of Sound.

Consequence of sound said the new LP “successfully construct Sabbath-ian, earth-moving riffs as their blueprint.” Pitchfork said boldly, “When High On Fire rip, it’s like they’re tearing through the whole universe.”

“I had a dream about Lemmy,” says Pike, explaining the inspiration behind the title of High on Fire’s title track, “Electric Messiah.” “When Lemmy was still alive I always got compared to Lemmy,” the gravelly-voiced guitarist elaborates, “so I had this dream where he got pissed at me.”

“He gave me a bunch of shit, basically, and was hazing me. Not that he didn’t approve of me, but like I was being hazed. The song is me telling the world that I could never fill Lemmy’s shoes because Lemmy’s Lemmy. I wanted to pay homage to him in a great way. And it turned out to be such a good title that the guys said we should call the album ‘Electric Messiah.'”

Chout Releases “Seasons” Music Video From New LP ‘Dogwater’

South Chicago based Rock Band CHOUT have released the official music video for their single, “Seasons,” off of their newest LP, Dogwater. Garnering immediate attention from no less than LoudwireMetal Injection, and MetalSucks, the ALICE IN CHAINS influenced band is positioned to lead the simmering front of 90s grunge revival with a new, 3 song EP slated to drop in the next few weeks.

“Seasons’ is a song written about battling mental illness. The chorus ‘Seasons cry for no one’ is a play on words referencing seasonal depression directly, but the song is meant to represent an internal struggle with one’s demons.” – Brendan Maier (Chout)

3. Restless Heart
4. All Has Been Done

Chout is a Rock band from South Chicago formed in 2018 by vocalist Brendan Maier, guitarist Matt Morgan, bassist Rocco Gilsdorf, and drummer Joel Matinez. Childhood friends since elementary school, they are truly a band of brothers. The four have been writing songs together since the age of 13, drawing influences from all realms of the musical spectrum. While remaining faithful to the 90’s influence, Chout combines both classic metal riffs and modern upbeat songwriting, with a new progressive sound.

Year Of The Locust Release Lyric Video For “Stay Alive”

New York Hard Rock Band YEAR OF THE LOCUST has released the lyric video for their single “Stay Alive.” Featuring Troy Lucckette(TESLA) and Brian Bonds (FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE), “Stay Alive” off of YEAR OF THE LOCUST’s upcoming, self-titled EP.

“‘Stay Alive’ is a redemption song; when you think it’s time to give up is just the best time to turn it up.” says Scot McGiveron (Vocals). “Troy is so creative and brought so much energy to the drum track, while Brian’s energy and guitar-play is just always so powerful.”

YEAR OF THE LOCUST is also currently on the road with TESLA on their SHOCK USA tour.

Below are some photos of Year Of The Locust’s live set at The Pageant.  While it was Tesla that drew the crowd in, I can’t help but admire how the bandwas able to get the crowd to participate with them through the performance.  It was a set where everyone in the band had a little time to shine and you could tell the band was having fun on stage.  We need more of this in rock today.  We need musicians and their music enjoying their lives, not just miserable people going through the motions.  Year Of The Locust know how to have fun in the music industry.
