Rock icon Alice Cooper and Grammy-winning hard rock band Halestorm have announced a co-headline amphitheater tour across North America this summer. Produced by Live Nation, the 19-city tour will kick off July 17 in Allentown, PA at the PPL Center and make stops in Detroit, Chicago, Houston, and more before wrapping August 16 in Camden, NJ at the BB&T Pavilion. Motionless In White will support on all dates.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, March 8 at 10 AM local time at LiveNation.com. Citi is the official presale credit card for the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Wednesday, March 6 at 10 AM local time until Thursday, March 7 at 10 PM local time through Citi’s Private Pass program. Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer Cooper will bring an all-new show for the Summer 2019 tour. Dubbed “Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back,” the show will have a very different look than recent tours. New music from Alice is expected in time for the tour, once again produced by Alice’s longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, who most recently produced 2017’s acclaimed Paranormal album, featuring friends like ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, U2’s Larry Mullen Jr, and Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, as well as original Alice Cooper band members Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway and Michael Bruce. Cooper’s most recent release, the live album A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris, was released by earMUSIC in 2018. In addition to recording and touring both on his own and with The Hollywood Vampires (with pals Joe Perry and Johnny Depp), Alice continues his nightly syndicated radio show “Nights With Alice Cooper,” heard worldwide on over 100 radio stations.

Grammy-Award winning band Halestorm released their fourth full-length album, Vicious, last year. Called a “muscular, adventurous, and especially relevant rock record” by Rolling Stone, Vicious earned the band their second Grammy nomination, for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Uncomfortable,” the band’s fourth #1 at rock radio. Fronted by the incomparable Lzzy Hale, named Loudwire’s 2018 Rock Artist of the Year, Halestorm has earned a reputation as a powerful live music force, headlining sold-out shows and topping festival bills around the world.

Within Temptation Brings The Resistance To New York City | Photos | March 2nd, 2019

Within Temptation in New York City

2019 is a return to form for Within Temptation.  The band have just released the album Resist, their latest in almost five years, and have come to the United States and Canada for a tour to remind people how much fun symphonic metal can be.  The setlist featured many songs from Resist and the stage presentation resembled the feeling of the album as well as the design of the music videos for songs such as “The Reckoning” and “Supernova”.

One note I want to point out is just how well Sharon den Adel can command a crowd.  At a sweaty, crowded venue in Times Square (that had fans previously crowd surfing to no music at all between bands after In Flames ended), Sharon was able to wrangle them all in and get them into the music at her will.  It’s becoming rare that we see the lead of any metal band be able to completely grab the attention of an entire crowd and have them focus on the music rather than moshing into each other’s skulls.

Overall, the sound was excellent and it made up for the brutal cold that many people had to wait in just to enter the venue.  It was a solid show and you can tell the audience was having a good time.

A final note to point out is just how well designed Playstation Theater is.  Regardless of how many name changes and designs the venue has gone through, Sony and Playstation have designed an amazing venue in Manhattan.  No doubt that I would go there more often if possible, and I wish there was a venue this well presented closer to me.

State Champs are taking on some new roles in their brand-new video for “Criminal”, premiering today exclusively with Billboard. On the video, bassist Ryan Scott Graham shares “We had a blast filming a handful of cameos for the new Criminal video. Miguel Barbosa had a great vision to expand on our idea of developing a series of interconnected videos for this album cycle, this of course being a prequel of sorts to the video for Dead and Gone. We had a lot of people asking about the meaning of it all, but we’re not ready to divulge that information yet! Just watch the video and enjoy.”

Demon Hunter and Revolver have premiered the video for “On My Side.” Watch it here.

“The video for ‘On My Side’ was filmed in Seattle by Andy Maier,” frontman Ryan Clark told Revolver. “For this — the first video from our new album, War— we wanted to keep things straightforward with regards to the overall approach. Though the video is strictly performance, we did have some fun by filming each setup the same way a number of times using different lighting scenarios in each.”

He continued, “This meant performing it the exact same way — hand motions, body positioning — over and over, but [it] ultimately allowed us to toggle between looks while maintaining the same general positioning, which gives a really cool effect in the end.”

The band will drop two new albums, War and Peace, via Solid State Recordson March 1. The ambitious efforts are the follow-ups to 2017’s Outlive, and were recognized and lauded by Decibel, who said, “metalcore survivors make their best album, ever — twice.” Metal Injection also labeled the new material as “blissful melodeath.”

Mark Morton, the prolific guitarist of Lamb of God, has released the song “Save Defiance.” The track features vocalist Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge and Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators fame, with Alice in Chains’ Mike Inez on bass and Korn’s Ray Luzier on drums.

“Myles was our first and only choice for ‘Save Defiance,'” Morton says. “He’s such a tremendous talent and a remarkably down-to-earth and humble dude. Even before the instrumental pre-production demo was finished, we knew we were going to ask Myles to sing on it. We felt like it was a perfect fit for his voice. He dug the track and made it his own. I’m grateful to have had the chance to work with him.”

“Having the opportunity to work with Mark was a really cool experience,” Kennedy says. “I’d been a fan of his work with Lamb of God for a long time so I was honored when he asked if I wanted to sing on his record. Mark did a great job creating a track that would be inspiring for me to sing over. The first time I heard the music, a melody and lyric popped into my head. The creative process felt pretty effortless. I am really happy with how the song turned out overall.”

Mark Morton will embark on a co-headline tour with Light the Torch this spring. Moon Tooth will also appear. The live configuration of Morton’s band will include Mark Morales (Sons Of Texas) on lead vocals, Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves, God Forbid) on guitar, Nick Villarreal (Sons of Texas) on bass, and Art Cruz (Prong,Winds of Plague) on drums, plus additional special guest appearances along the way.

On this album Devin has decided to see what would happen if all the styles that make up his current interests were finally represented in one place. To finally shake the fear of expectation and just do what it is he was meant to do creatively; EMPATH, true to the name, is about allowing the audience a feeling for a variety of musical emotions. The musical dynamics represented on this single album are broad, challenging, and immense. To approach this sort of work with a long history of what makes heavy music “heavy,” allows this to be done with a type of power rarely heard. Over the past few years, the success that Devin has slowly worked for has fortunately come with the power to control his own creative destiny. The recent successes with the DVD from a sold-out Royal Albert hall, or his 2012 ‘Retinal Circus’, or last year’s ‘Ocean Machine’ live DVD with the Orchestra and Choir of State Opera Plovdiv has put him in a position where with the new album EMPATH, he will once and for all define himself as a musical force outside of any particular genre classification.

Badflower is an American rock band founded in Los Angeles, California. The band is composed of singer/guitarist Josh Katz, lead guitarist Joey Morrow, bass guitarist Alex Espiritu and drummer Anthony Sonetti.  Their debut studio album, titled OK, I’M SICK, released on February 22, 2019.
