It was about four songs into Killswitch Engage’s performance that the flood rain started coming in and the band’s performance was cut short. The festival evacuation proceeded and metal fans shed a little tear in the rain knowing they had to leave a great band behind on stage.
In those four songs KSE still delivered. Whether it’s Adam drinking a beer while playing or Jesse screaming his head off, they always make sure fans get what they expect and then some.
What I love about watching Killswitch Engage live is that it’s how music and a live show should be: fun. You have a good time while watching this band play. It’s not an overly dramatic presentation or 20 minutes of a band member talking about current issues to stay topical and relevant (some bands are great for that but some really force it). KSE wants to play. That’s what takes priority.
The good news is that KSE is going on tour with Parkway Drive. Check out that tour if it comes remotely close to where you live. You can find the band’s upcoming tour dates on their Facebook page here: Killswitch Engage on Facebook.

Before Wilson’s set at Welcome To Rockville 2019, Chad and Puhy talk about their experience in Florida, performing live, going on tour with Steel Panther, and give a recap on their craziest fan experience ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5XH_YHdyBM
Wilson are a five-piece rock band from East Lansing, Michigan, United States. The band formed in 2010 when founding member Jason Spencer was attending Michigan State University.[ Vocalist Chad Nicefield joined in late 2010. They have released three full studio albums: Full Blast Fuckery (2013), Right to Rise (2015) and Tasty Nasty (2018). The band also released an EP in 2010 named Standing On The Reel under a different lineup, besides Jason Spencer. Wilson currently consists of Chad Nicefield (vocals), Jason Spencer (guitar), Kyle Landry (guitar), James Lascu (bass) and Matt Puhy (drums).
It was an extremely sweaty night on day two at Welcome To Rockville but that’s not going to stop everyone from coming to the party. Anyone who has ever seen Rob Zombie live knows that the good times go down as soon as “Dead City Radio” starts being played.
There is talk that Rob Zombie will have a new album in 2019, but in the meantime we got to relive many of the hits from the deadman’s legacy; both from 90’s hits all the way up to songs from 2016’s The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser. It was during the first few songs that a giant alien was brought on stage to dance along that I think everyone realized they were in for a wild Saturday night.
As dark as it got that night, the UFO lights along with the monsters on stage made sure everything was illuminated. Hearing “Dragula” live never gets old and every time Rob performs, you can tell it’s meant to entertain every single time. It’s never a case of going through the motions.
Rob Zombie will be making other festival appearances along with touring and if we are lucky, new music. You can keep up to date with everything Zombie-esque on the Facebook page here: Rob Zombie on Facebook

Tool at Welcome To Rockville 2019
Almost every website, YouTube channel, and radio DJ has made a joke at one point about never getting new Tool music again due to the fact that it has been over a decade. As the years have gone on, it’s hard not to understand everyone’s frustration.
After Tool started teasing (trolling?) the idea of new music in 2019 by changing Facebook banners and posting photos of studio recording sessions…it’s almost impossible to not get excited. News has broken since Welcome To Rockville however that a new Tool album is coming in August.
Tool closed out Welcome To Rockville 2019 late into the night due to an unfortunate rainout that delayed festival performances. After looking at the crowd that stayed, you realized that attendees were willing to make the sacrifice of calling in sick to work and school in order to hear Tool.
This was the first time I had ever seen Tool live. It was a big deal for me to be given this opportunity because it’s rare to get photos of Tool live. I’m not above repeatedly saying how grateful I am.
One highlight was hearing “Schism” while hearing thousands sing along. Another highlight was after the first song when Maynard James Keenan said “Thank you, and good night.” I’m pretty sure there would have been a riot as a result of listeners only got seven minutes of Tool.
See Tool live this year if you can because several more festival performances have been announced. It’s 2019, and Tool has reaffirmed my belief that Tool’s music is timeless because everything the band did at Rockville sounded amazing.

A review on Berserker, the eleventh studio album from Amon Amarth.
Amon Amarth is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Tumba, formed in 1992. The band takes its name from the Sindarin name of Mount Doom, a volcano in J. R. R. Tolkien′s Middle-earth. Their lyrics mostly deal with Viking mythology and history, and so they have been linked with viking metal, although the band themselves prefer to be referred to as melodic death metal. The band is composed of lead guitarist Olavi Mikkonen, vocalist Johan Hegg, bassist Ted Lundström, rhythm guitarist Johan Söderberg, and drummer Jocke Wallgren.
Berserker is the upcoming eleventh studio album by the Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth. It is to be released on 3 May 2019. The album was produced by Jay Ruston. This marks the first album by the band to feature drummer Jocke Wallgren who joined the band in 2016. #AmonAmarth #Berserker #Vikings
The iconic, GRAMMY-winning guitaristSLASH and his band SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS have released a brand new live video today, May 1 for the song “Boulevard Of Broken Hearts”HERE.
The “Boulevard Of Broken Hearts” video was
recorded at SLASH’s SOLD OUT live performance atThe Eventim
Apollo, London on Wednesday, February, 20 2019. The
stunning video features the album version of the song overlaid with intimate
backstage footage and live footage from the Eventim Apollo and
shows why SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS are
such an incendiary live draw. The video was shot and edited by Dan
Sturgess. The track is taken from the group’s most recent studio
album LIVING THE DREAM.
“‘Boulevard of Broken Hearts’ was the last song
I came up with and brought to the band,” explainsSLASH. ‘It was
another idea I had where I wasn’t sure the other guys were going to get where I
was coming from. But the chorus was done in such a way that I’d knew they’d get
that part of it, and from there all we’d have to do is figure out the verses
and the other sections. It actually came together really quickly, and after
Myles heard it, he had a vocal melody almost instantaneously.”
“It’s a newer one, for sure. Lyrically, it’s about having
this awareness that you’re really close to obtaining your goals, as well as
beating the odds,” adds MYLES. “I thought about it from the perspective
of a young musician striving for something, only the doors keep closing on him.
But he’s already come so far. So, it’s a reminder to stay on course because
you’re almost there. It seemed like a good idea to end the record on. Keep
pushing through and persevering, and eventually what you’re shooting for will
happen.”
The “Boulevard Of Broken Hearts” live
performance video acts as the perfect precursor to SLASH FT. MYLES
KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS 2019 worldwide tour dates which run
throughout the year. In May and June SLASH will
tour South America, before returning to Europe through June and
earl July. The band play Israel, and then launch
a North American headlining tour through July andAugust
2019, including festival stops at Heavy Montreal in Quebec on July
28 and at Lollapalooza onAugust 4 in Chicago,
IL. The U.S. trek will kick-off on July 15 in San
Francisco. Tickets are on-sale now, visit: http://www.slashonline.com.

Reel Big Fish & The Aquabats Co-Headline Tour, July 2-19 W/ Special Guest Dog Party
Two legends of Orange County ska punk, Reel Big Fish and The
Aquabats, are joining forces on a 14-city co-headline tour which kicks off
July 2 and runs through July 19.
Local pre-sale tickets will go on sale Thursday, May 2nd from 10am to 10pm local time, with general admission tickets on sale beginning Friday, May 3rd at 10am local time.
The Aquabats’ Christian Jacobs (the MC Bat Commander
himself) says, “We haven’t been on the road for a while so… this is
going to be most fun! We’ve been friends with Aaron and the Reel Big Fish-ermen
for over 20 years now and after all this time, it still feels like we’re just
goofing around, playing music and having fun with no other motives than to goof
around, play music and have fun! We can’t wait to see everyone again!”
Reel Big Fish frontman Aaron Barrett adds,
“Come out and party like it’s 1997 with two bands who have been making
fools of themselves on stage for YOUR entertainment for over 20 years!! If you
don’t have a good time, it’s because you HATE FUN!!! “
TV’s punk rock superheroes The Aquabats formed
in 1994 in Orange County as a way to have some harmless fun in a music scene
that took itself too seriously. Their Paul Frank designed “power belts,”
trademark blue rash guards, black eye masks, “anti-negativity” helmets and
onstage antics quickly caught on, earning the group a fiercely loyal following
that spans generations. Their line-up and music is continuously evolving, including
Blink 182’s Travis Barker as former drummer “Baron Von Tito.”
2019 marks the band’s 25th year and promises to be one of
their best yet. In addition to the release of The Aquabats Super Show!
Television Soundtrack Volume 1 on June 7th and a full touring slate this
summer, the year will round out with West and East Coast headlining tours in
the fall to coincide with the release of their first fan-funded full-length
studio album in October.
As one of the key mid-90’s ska-punk bands to emerge out of
Southern California’s third wave ska scene, along with acts like No Doubt and
Sublime, Reel Big Fish’s popularity hasn’t faltered over the
years. Distinguished by their hyperkinetic stage shows, sarcastic humor, ironic
covers of new wave pop songs, and metallic shards of ska, the group continues
to tour the world playing shows to a hardcore fanbase that’s as devoted as
ever.
Reel Big Fish’s 9th studio LP, ‘Life Sucks…Let’s Dance’
was released in late- 2018 and has garnered some of the best reviews of their
lengthy career.

Watch the first trailer for the album, in which bassist Pär Sundström and historian Indy Neidell discuss the new record:
The band started the recordings exactly 100 years after the
end of the First World War (11/11/1918) and took 3 months of intensive work to
complete the album together with their long term producer and partner Jonas
Kjellgren at Black Lounge studios. Furthermore, the album
has been mastered by Maor Appelbaum and the artwork was once
again created by Peter Sallaí.
“This is not the first time we have sung about stories from this period in time, but now we felt the timing was right to make a full concept album about this war”, explain the band.
In addition, SABATON posted this trailer revealing more details about the amazing artwork – watch it here:
Alongside the album, the Swedes have worked hard to make their 20th year anniversary a very exciting year, and also started the SABATON HistoryChannel – a unique collaboration between the band themselves and multimedia historians Indy Neidell and Timeghost –capturing the power of social media to tell stories about the wars, battles and heroes behind SABATON’s songs. “This is the biggest album we have taken on so far. There
is more depth and story around the songs that we have ever had before”,Pär
Sundström announces. “Expect many surprises as we have
tried new things and we also went back in time to a concept we know a lot of
you love. The Great War has been created side by side with the Sabaton History
Channel to make 2019 the most exciting year in our 20 year history.”

New Delhi based Indian Folk Metal band Bloodywood has released the official music video for their newest single, “Machi Bhasad (Expect a Riot).”
“Originally created for the upcoming Ubisoft game “Beyond Good and Evil 2”, Machi Bhasad is a track with a political message that celebrates the power of a new generation and its potential to be better than the last. Outside the context of the game, this song is intended as both a tribute and a call to action.
It’s a tribute to musicians and leaders who inspired people like ourselves to think and act in a way that’ll benefit everyone. To question an unjust system that serves a few at the cost of the many. It’s a call to action for our generation to finish the work started by all those who came before us. To Become the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back, and change the world for the better.”
