I Prevail Drop New Song & Video for “Paranoid”

I Prevail Release New Song + Video For “Paranoid”
Band To Drop New Album Trauma On March 29

Detroit’s I Prevail have shared the video for the song “Paranoid” from their second full-length Trauma.

Trauma will be released on March 29 through Fearless Records and is available for pre-order in physical and digital formats here.

I Prevail will embark on a headline North American tour next month. The first leg of the band’s headline tour kicks off on April 24 and runs through May 24. The second leg launches on July 11 and runs through August 9, and includes several major festival appearances. Joining the band for these dates will be special guests Issues and Justin Stone. Tickets for the tour are available here. All dates are below.

Trauma represents a moment of triumph in the wake of a series of trials and tribulations endured by the Michigan quartet—Brian Burkheiser [clean vocals], Eric Vanlerberghe [harsh vocals], Steve Menoian [lead guitar], and Dylan Bowman [rhythm guitar]. Even as they catapulted towards mainstream notoriety with 2016’s breakout Lifelines, they faced unforeseen hardship that might’ve broken any other band. Burkheiser dealt with a debilitating vocal injury that jeopardized his future as a singer. He made it through, but dealt with the aftershocks of stress and anxiety. Conflicted with thoughts of potentially leaving the band, he made a decision. He got together with his band brothers in 2018 and they decided to craft the record they wanted to hear without outside input. Joined by producer Tyler Smith [Falling In Reverse], they emerged from 10 months in the studio with Trauma.

Trauma also represents a realization of I Prevail’s full potential. The band elevates rock music by making it unpredictable again, leaping from moments of metal, alternative, electronic, and heavy rock. This air of danger powers the hard-hitting single “Bow Down.” Watch + listen here. Companion single “Breaking Down pairs glitchy flourishes with a hypnotic and heartfelt vocal performance and impactful refrain. Watch + listen here.

With an equally melodic and momentous offering, I Prevail soar on Trauma. Smarter and more confident, rock music gets the band it needs to carry it to the frontlines of heavy music: I Prevail.

ABOUT I PREVAIL:
Gold-certified Michigan quartet I Prevail refashion, reup, and recharge rock music on their anxiously awaited 2019 sophomore offering, Trauma [Fearless Records]. If anybody can elevate the genre to mainstream ubiquity once more, it’s this band. Since their 2014 arrival, they set a precedent to catalyze rock’s evolution. The band put up astounding numbers rarely synonymous with the genre or their peers, for that matter. Nearing half-a-billion streams and 115 million YouTube views, they moved over 500,000 albums worldwide, notched three #1 singles on SiriusXM Octane, and played 500-plus shows in just three years. Not to mention, they achieved a gold single in the form of their take on Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” from the Heart Vs. Mind EP.

On the mega-anticipated 2019 offering Trauma, they uplift rock to a plateau where soundscapes can unpredictably toss and turn between heavy metal, alternative, hip-hop, and electronic moods without warning, boundaries, or rules. Meanwhile, the lyrics team with confessional emotionality as if ripped from the pages of a secret diary. Vulnerable, vital, and visceral, the 15-track opus illuminates the future, and it’s as bright and bold as the singles “Breaking Down and “Bow Down.” Rock may never be the same after this Trauma.

Plain White T’s Release “Low” Video

Chicago’s Plain White T’s release impactful video for “Low.”

The song lives on the band’s latest album, Parallel Universe, out now via Fearless Records.

Singer Tom Higgensen offered the following insight into the song and the visual.

“Everybody at times can feel a little bit depressed, inadequate, or not ‘good enough,” he said. “Often, we search for something outside ourselves to fill that void and to make us feel better; more wanted, more confident, more beautiful. We turn to drugs, alcohol, medication for a temporary fix to make us feel a little better, but these can obviously just lead to more problems and become a need or a dependency.”

Higgensen furthered, “This video makes a commentary towards that by introducing the imaginary magical elixir called ‘Low,’ which is presented as the fix all for all of life’s problems. It’s a creepy infomercial that promises the consumer instant results, but as the viewer, we can see that things aren’t quite as they seem.”

PLAIN WHITE T’S TOUR DATES:
3/15 — Rosemont, IL — Joe’s Live
4/25 — Oklahoma City, OK — Tower Theatre
5/23 — Bristol, UK — The Fleece
5/24 — Perranporth, UK — Tunes In The Dunes Festival
5/25 — Hatfield, UK — Slam Dunk Festival
5/26 — Hatfield, UK — Slam Dunk Festival
5/27 — Brighton, UK — The Haunt

ABOUT PLAIN WHITE T’S:
Since emerging in 1997, the GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum Chicago quintet—Tom Higgenson [vocals], Tim Lopez [lead guitar, vocals], Dave Tirio [rhythm guitar], Mike Retondo [bass], and De’Mar Hamilton [drums]— has amassed an enduring, engaging, and enigmatic catalog, spanning two gold-certified offerings All That We Needed (2005) and Every Second Counts (2006) and unshakable anthems such as the double-platinum “1,2,3,4” and platinum “Rhythm of Love.” Among the discography, “Hey There Delilah” went quadruple-platinum, topped the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a pair of 2008 GRAMMY® Award nominations in the categories of “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.” Along the way, the five-piece logged countless miles on the road in front of sold out crowds in nearly every corner of the globe. After a whirlwind tour cycle supporting 2015’s American Nights, the guys hunkered down and began writing the ideas that would eventually comprise Parallel Universe, released in August 2018. The band’s endlessly hummable signature melodies still shine at the center of this galaxy, but their Universe morphed into an otherworldly atmosphere of ethereal electronic pop strengthened by lush guitar tones and synth transmissions.

The “re-blended” version of their classic debut is resurrected bigger than ever without sacrificing its familiar kick. Plus, there are two bonus cuts: a full band/piano version of “Spoke in the Wheel” and an acoustic take on “Black Pearl.”

Black Label Society has also announced their “20 Years of Sonic Brewtality Tour,” a brand-new batch of 2019 North American tour dates in conjunction with the new release. The band will play two shows in each market – the first night will feature Sonic Brew played in its entirety, while the second night will see the band play a set of greatest hits. Sonic Brew – 20th Anniversary Blend 5.99 – 5.19  is nothing like the infamously awful, failed experiment of New Coke. This is the original formula, like Coke Classic, but spiked with Viagra, the Captain America super soldier serum, and triple the caffeine.

It’s less of a floor to ceiling remodel than it is a fresh coat of paint, in preparation for another crazy house party. Zakk Wylde and crew were careful not to mess with the magic captured on the long lost two-inch tape. Instead, they blessed the master with some note-for-note enhancement, spicing up /Sonic Brew/ with a perfected recipe.

“I don’t want to hear Led Zeppelin II redone, with the band just replaying the whole record,”notes the charismatic frontman and gregarious guitar icon. “The performances and everything is a snapshot in time. We just added on top of what was already there on the original recordings. It’s like we went in and did surgery on this thing. We took the original CD master and added things that made it stronger.”

The Black Label Society studio discography is like an instruction manual on how to expertly craft heartfelt, no holds barred, heavy metal infused American hard rock. “’Sonic Brew’ was the beginning. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years,” Zakk marvels.

Wylde’s powerful pipes, mayhem-inducing charisma, mischievous humor, and instantly recognizable shredding have made him a beloved figure to rock audiences the world over. One part invading-horde, one part traveling carnival party, Black Label Society continues to engage and inspire, powered by caffeine and cacophony.

Baroness Release Gold & Grey on June 1; Watch “Borderlines” Video Now

BARONESS RELEASE GOLD & GREY ON JUNE 14 VIA ABRAXAN HYMNS
BAND RELEASE “BORDERLINES” VIDEO; NORTH AMERICAN TOUR UNDERWAY

Baroness release their eagerly-awaited new album, Gold & Grey, on June 14 via Abraxan Hymns.  The band has simultaneously released a video for the song “Borderlines”, which saw its live performance debut at Baroness’s tour kick off last Friday in Houston.

“Our goal is, was, and will always be to write increasingly superior, more honest and compelling songs, and to develop a more unique and challenging sound,” offered Baroness founder, guitar player and vocalist John Baizley. “I’m sure we have just finished our best, most adventurous album to date. We dug incredibly deep, challenged ourselves and recorded a record I’m positive we could never again replicate. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to know Sebastian, Nick and Gina as both my bandmates and my friends. They have pushed me to become a better songwriter, musician and vocalist. We’re all extremely excited for this release, which includes quite a few ‘firsts’ for the band, and we’re thrilled to be back on tour to play these psychotic songs for our fans. Expect some surprises.”

While Gold & Grey found the outfit once again working with Purple producer Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mogwai), sequestering themselves at Fridmann’s remote upstate New York Tarbox Road Studio, the 17-track album ushered in two significant changes: a decidedly different recording process and guitar player Gina Gleason’s debut on a Baroness recording. The band, who tracked portions of the vocals, guitars and overdubs in Baizley’s home-basement studio, another first for the band, eschewed their normal routine of entering the studio with meticulously detailed plans and instead opted for a looser, more improvisational approach that resulted in the band’s most collaborative and emotionally evocative release to date.

“On Gold & Grey we have taken some unexpected paths on a labyrinthine sonic adventure. We accepted sounds and styles that have not appeared on previous Baroness albums, and I’m excited to welcome our fans into our new lair,” added drummer Sebastian Thomson.

“Having the chance to create music without any preconceived boundaries was both liberating and intimidating,” explains guitar player Gina Gleason. “As we pushed past our fear and comfort zone, the four of us connected in a way that allowed us to create freely, uplift one another and build the unique sonic world that is Gold & Grey. As a longtime Baroness listener, it is exciting to have created something new while still maintaining a deep love and understanding of the band’s roots. To say that the making of this record was quite a journey would be an understatement. We are beyond excited to share this experience and music with everyone!”

The song appears on the band’s latest album, Erase Me, out now via Fearless Records.

“For ‘Bloodlust,’ which picks up where ‘ihateit‘ left off, [singer] Spencer [Chamberlain] and I were chained to a pole for three hours with a stranger, who was the actress,” said drummer Aaron Gillespie. “Making this video was a really interesting process, because the song deals with a lot of deep issues and struggles. But it was so late when we were filming that we were just hysterical. The video seems so serious due to the lyrical content, but it was a night.”

Last year, Underoath notched its first-ever performance Grammy nomination in the Best Metal Performance category for “On My Teeth.” The band was previously nominated for two Grammys.

Underoath are also getting ready to embark on their first-ever arena tour in support of Breaking Benjamin later this month. The band will next hit the road this summer with Korn and Alice in Chains. All Underoath tour dates are below.

ABOUT UNDEROATH:
Underoath released Erase Me, their first album in eight years, via Fearless Records in 2018. The band notched a Grammy nomination in the Best Metal Performance category for “On My Teeth” and spent most of the year on the road in support of the album — playing countless sold-out headline shows and headlining their first-ever arena show in their Tampa hometown. Ultimately, Erase Me represents a watershed moment for the gold-selling heavy music luminaries whose inescapable influence can be felt in nearly every corner of hard rock. The album crashed the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart at #1. It sees the band refine its trend-setting but inimitable style with heavy intensity and hypnotic hooks coursing through songs, like the aforementioned “On My Teeth,” “Rapture,” “Wake Me,” and the Top 15 active rock single “ihateit,” which have cumulatively tallied over 16 million streams in a few months’ time. Underoath will spend the spring playing arenas with Breaking Benjamin.

Parting Gift Drop Video For New Song “Without Sin”

Parting Gift Release Video For “Without Sin”
New EP Ensom Out March 22nd, 2019

The UK’s Parting Gift have shared the video for “Without Sin” from their upcoming EP Ensom, out March 22 on Fearless Records. Watch the clip here.

“Without Sin” showcases a more ethereal, melody-driven facet to the Manchester band’s far-reaching and expansive sound. It’s a dreamy mix of shoegaze pop and rock. Delivering the most emotive of performances to every audience they play to, Parting Gift’s latest track conveys that intensity perfectly. “A word to the ordinary,” says vocalist Zac Vernon of the track. “A reminder that this can happen to anyone, the purest of souls. Its taint does not pick and choose and it is ruthless. The ones who pursue their self-betterment can occasionally free themselves from it and take a breather, only to see it come back stronger. However, it’s a reminder that, in spite of the darkness, it is always worth not giving in.”

The Ensom EP is a powerful statement from one of the UK’s most exciting up and coming rock talents. It paints a dark but heady picture with the band’s unique approach to sound. Vernon says, “The basis of the entire EP is the feeling of a cold, dark entity making one unable to feel anything. The darkest of dreams and visions, delusions. It is walking the thin line between what is real and what is in your mind. It is the obsession by what is seemingly out of one’s control. A sort of coping strategy for the pain it causes.”

The Manchester band previously released the single “Pale.” Watch the video here.

ABOUT PARTING GIFT:
Art is not just a one-dimensional construct. It is a multi-faceted, richly woven and engrossing prospect from whichever angle you view it. This is a philosophy that defines and inspires Manchester’s Parting Gift. Shrouded in mystery, Zac Vernon [vocals], Peter Vybiral [guitar], Jack Dutton [guitar], and George Barnes [drums] have been leaving things open to interpretation with their minimalist visual style and deeply enriching sound since their emergence in early 2017. Building up a rapturous and devoted fan base through a handful of beautifully constructed singles, including the rousing double A-side Vein & Rensing (2018), the band has since penned a deal with Fearless Records and toured with the likes of Neck Deep, Blood Youth, Holding Absence, and many others. Even at such an early stage in their journey, the band is serving as a vessel for the most human parts of existence as they look to venture deeper into what it truly means to be in this dark and confusing world.
