Alien Weaponry Release
Music Video for “Ahi Kā”

On Tour Now (Headlining) in North America

ALIEN WEAPONRY have released the music video for their new single, “Ahi Kā“, which premiered last week over at Billboard. The song represents the first new material from the New Zealand based metal trio since releasing their 2018 debut album, Tū. Fans can check out the music video for “Ahi Kā” via the link below. The track is also featured on Adult Swim’s new, streaming-only compilation record Metal Swim 2. Watch the video HERE.

About “Ahi Ka”:

Ahi Kā was inspired by the Auckland city council’s decision to burn down what was considered to be the unsightly indigenous Maori village of Okahu Bay in advance of Queen Elizabeth II’s 1953 visit,” Alien Weaponry’s singer-guitarist Lewis de Jong says of the track. Which, like many of the band’s songs, is sung in New Zealand’s indigenous language of Te Reo Māori. “The eviction sparked a 40-year battle for the native Ngati Whatua to reclaim their land, including protests and battles with the police. Amid worldwide criticism, a small portion of the original land was ultimately returned with an apology and some compensation.”

About ALIEN WEAPONRY:

Alien Weaponry was formed in 2010 by brothers Lewis (vocals & guitar) and Henry de Jong (drums), who were 8 and 10 years old at the time. The two would later move to the small town of Waipu in 2012, and went on to meet Ethan Trembath (bass) there in 2013. The de Jong brothers came up with the name Alien Weaponry after watching the film District 9.

Both Lewis and Henry are of Ngati Pikiāo and Ngati Raukawa (Māori tribal) descent, and began their schooling at a kura kaupapa Māori (full immersion Māori language school) where singing waiata (songs) and performing haka were a daily routine.

Fans and music critics alike have applauded the band’s approach to unifying Te Reo Māori (the native language of New Zealand) with thrash metal sensibilities; ultimately creating a sound that is driven by emotionally and politically charged conflict while boasting youthful, warrior-like resilience.

“The Eagle Has Landed (Live In Paris 2018)” Streaming Now
The King Live In Paris Out May 17, 2019

From the Royal Court of Avatar Country on May 10 in the Year of the King (2019).

Avatar has debuted another single from their live LP today called “The Eagle Has Landed (Live in Paris 2018)” just one week before the release of The King Live In Paris on May 17, 2019. This is the second track we’ve heard from the all-new album, the first being“Bloody Angel (Live in Paris 2018)” back in March.

The King Live In Paris was recorded 100% live at Download Festival 2018 in Paris, France. The new release underscores fan favorites such as “A Statue Of The King,” “Let It Burn,” and “Hail The Apocalypse.”

“Looking back at all that’s happened and what’s still going on it feels more like a document from a pivotal battle than a live album,” says frontman Johannes Eckerström.

“In the past, I’ve found it hard to motivate making something like this, but as time goes on, I find it fortunate that we get to have our work captured like this. I realize now more than ever that we are in the process of constant change.

This release is a version of Avatar that didn’t exist a year prior, and that already has morphed into something else. The show at Download Paris was a particular one for many reasons. We are very proud of the result.”

The Royal AVATAR has also been confirmed to support BABYMETAL in the U.S. this fall. The tour which will bring together two international powerhouse acts will kick off in Orlando, FL on September 04, 2019. Dates will stretch across The States before wrapping up in San Francisco, CA on October 05, 2019.

“His Royal Majesty the King is delighted to announce this great new trade deal with BABYMETAL of the Land of the Rising Sun,” says Johannes. “He looks forward to this unique opportunity that he assures will be of great benefit to everyone involved, especially all the soon to be Citizens of Avatar Country who are yet to hear His Highness’ Royal orchestra.”

Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, May 17 at 10 am local with VIP/Fan club presale beginning Monday, May 13 at 10 am local through Thursday, May 16 at 10 pm local.

Avatar will release The King Live In Paris on May 17, 2019, via Entertainment One (eOne). Pre-save and pre-orders are available now with “Bloody Angel (Live in Paris 2018)” and “The Eagle Has Landed (Live in Paris 2018)” serving as iTunes instant gratification tracks, meaning fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive both as immediate downloads.

The band will also release an exclusive “FYE Sonic Temple Edition” double picture disc vinyl only at Sonic Temple, the annual American rock festival held in Columbus, OH at MAPFRE Stadium.

Wage War Return To Their Home State | Photos | Welcome To Rockville 2019

At Welcome To Rockville 2019, it was a homecoming for Florida’s Wage War. Where on day one Beartooth had the wildest crowed, it was Wage War who had that title on day two.

While Wage War made a good name in front of national crowds at Warped Tour over the years it appears that they have more than earned their fanbase through their heavy sound.

Looks can be deceiving for the Ocala natives as on the surface you may not expect just how deep their lyrics are AND how crushing their music can be. Those babyfaces know how to shred and cause a riot.

Wage War will be continuing the Low Tour along with making festival appearances through the summer. You can find more information on the band’s Facebook page here: Wage War on Facebook

Beartooth Return To Florida For A Riot | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

In a wet patch of grass on day one of Welcome To Rockville 2019, Beartooth had the wildest crowd of the festival up to that point. It’s become a standard now for Beartooth that when they play at any festival, the crowd will be present and get as wild and unruly as possible.

Florida is already a chaotic place. Look up #FloridaMan on Twitter if you want proof (brace yourself for what you’ll find). But Beartooth working up a crowd of thousands in Metropolitan Park only added to the sunshine state’s insanity.

Beartooth has been promoting their latest album Disease which came out in September 2018. This is the band’s third full album and what FM/SiriusXM are still playing due to requests from what’s becoming a diehard fanbase.

They will be attending various festivals throughout the remainder of 2019. You can find their dates and more information on their Facebook page here: Beartooth on Facebook

Wage War Talks Upcoming 2019 Album, Playing Festivals, Awkward BBQ’s & More

Before their set on day two of Welcome To Rockville 2019, Wage War talk about Florida shenanigans, finishing recording of their third album for 2019, and playing big festivals.

Wage War also talk about an awkward fan request to attend a BBQ.  These fan stories will be part of a compilation interview video to be posted later this month!

Wage War is an American metalcore band from Ocala, Florida formed in 2010. The band signed to Fearless Records in 2015. The band consists of vocalist Briton Bond, rhythm guitarist and clean vocalist Cody Quistad, lead guitarist Seth Blake, bassist Chris Gaylord, and drummer Stephen Kluesener.

Incubus Has The Best Concerts To Sing Along With | Photos | Welcome To Rockville 2019

It’s hard to believe that Make Yourself has been out for twenty years. It’s harder to believe that when you see Incubus live because when you hear them, you can tell they still have it.

Incubus closed out the Metropolitan Stage on day three of Welcome To Rockville. This was the second time I have seen Incubus live and what I love about watching this band is that after a few songs the entire show turns into a sing-a-long from the crowd. It’s almost impulsive that you can’t stay quiet and you want to sing with Brandon Boyd.

Whether it’s a jam session or a glorified choir of thousands in Florida, the show is still described as something people enjoyed. It wasn’t about looking tough or trying to grab everyone’s attention to steal the show. Incubus just did what they do best, and people left with a smile on their face because of it.

Incubus has recentely announced a massive US tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Make Yourself. You can find tour dates and more info on their Facebook page here: Incubus on Facebook

Dorothy Talks Writing A New Album, Upcoming Tour With Breaking Benjamin, A Creepy Fan Wearing Her Own Lipstick & More

At Welcome To Rockville 2019, Dorothy stopped to talk about writing for her upcoming third album and playing on her longest tour ever with Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle.

She also talks about one of her craziest fan stories including a crazy guy with lipstick. It’s intense. I am legit happy that she is still alive and hasn’t been abducted or something.

You can find more information on the band’s Facebook page here: Dorothy on Facebook

Dorothy is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2014. The band consists of vocalist Dorothy Martin, drummer Jason Ganberg, guitarists Nick Perri and Eli Wulfmeier, and bassist Eliot Lorango.

They released their first project, a self-titled EP, in 2014. Rolling Stone deemed them “a [band] you need to know,” and named them #14 on their 50 Best New Artists of 2014 list.

Bring Me The Horizon Bring Their Mantra with Fire | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

Bring Me The Horizon has stepped up their stage performance and presentation and it really shows. On stage dancers, pyro, uniforms, and a lot of lighting. It really feels like BMTH has come out swinging and the men are reinvigorated. Day three of Welcome To Rockville was in for a surprise with everything that BMTH brought.

Hearing songs range from “The House Of Wolves” to opening with “MANTRA”, it proved to me that Bring Me The Horizon are able to mature while still able to perform the hits. I admit that I wasn’t crazy about the band’s latest album Amo, but hearing the songs live made a better impression on me and the music is infectious in a live setting.

The last time I heard Oli Sykes sing live in 2017, he was having serious throat/voice issues. In 2019 it sounded like he was back in form and could deliver on multiple levels. It’s good to hear him doing well.

Bring Me The Horizon is going on tour through the US this summer as well as making festival appearances. You can find more info on their Facebook page here: Bring Me The Horizon on Facebook

Bring Me the Horizon (often abbreviated as BMTH) are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004. The group consists of lead vocalist Oliver Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish.

They are signed to RCA Records globally and Columbia Records exclusively in the United States. The style of their early work, including their debut album Count Your Blessings, has been described primarily as deathcore, but they started to adopt a more eclectic style of metalcoreon later albums.

Furthermore, their fifth album That’s the Spirit marked a shift in their sound to less aggressive rock music styles.[ In addition, their sixth album Amo saw a shift into different genres, such as electronicapop and hip hop.

Evanescence Returns To Jacksonville | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

In the opening of Evanescence’s set on day one of Welcome To Rockville, Amy Lee said that Jacksonville is a special place with a lot of history for the band. May 3rd, 2019 also marks the return of Evanescence to this specific festival.

This was my third time seeing Evanescence live; previously in 2016 and then summer of 2018 on the special tour with Lindsey Stirling. Amy Lee said that they had a great time doing something different through last year, but it’s now time to get back to what they know.

Amy Lee span around like a ball of energy as she usually does to huge backlighting and strobes. The band were into it. The crowd at Rockville may have been soaked from the bad weather earlier in the day but people still crammed in by the thousands for the set.

We keep hearing about potential new music from Evanescence. The most recent being the reimagined Synthesis which stripped down many of the band’s greatest hits into digital and electronic works). Here’s hoping we can get something new in 2019. If Tool can announce a new album in 2019, then anything is possible.

Evanescence is continuing their festival and amphitheater tour through various US cities and will be heading to Europe later this year. You can find more info on their Facebook page here: Evanescence on Facebook
