ABOUT KILLSWITCH ENGAGE:
Formed in 1999 out of western Massachusetts, Killswitch Engage are often credited as one of the most influential metal acts in the last 20 years. Twice Grammy-nominated, they’ve sold over 3 million records worldwide, with The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies both certified Gold in the U.S. The band has enjoyed multiple Top 10-charting albums, with 2016’s Incarnate landing at #6 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on the Current Rock Albums chart, and debuting at #1 overall in Canada, #5 in Australia, and #10 in both the UK and Germany, a testament to the band’s international reach.

As co-founders of Killswitch Engage, guitarist/backing vocalist Adam Dutkiewicz, guitarist Joel Stroetzel, bassist Mike D’Antonio, and lead vocalist Jesse Leach (who returned four years ago after a decade-long absence) together with longtime drummer Justin Foley continue to make trend-resistant, timeless heavy music that feeds the soul, touches the heart, and strengthens the mind. Spending much of their career on the road, Killswitch Engage have enjoyed premium slots on major U.S. tours, including OzzFest, Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest, Music As a Weapon, and Trespass America, as well as countless international festivals around the globe. Having shared the stage with acts ranging from Rise Against to Slayer, the diversity and versatility of their touring is unparalleled.

Their songs have been featured on Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, John Madden, the Resident Evil III soundtrack, and as entrance music for WWE wrestling champ CM Punk. The band’s compelling history can be seen in their latest release, Beyond the Flames: Home Video Vol II, a treasure trove of gripping content, containing 3.5 hours of footage, including a 75-minute documentary that chronicles the return of original vocalist Leach after nearly a decade away from the band he helped form, as well as tons of live footage from around the globe. The band recently announced its signing to Metal Blade Records, with a new album planned for Fall 2019.

ABOUT CLUTCH:
Maryland rockers Clutch have been pushing the boundaries that define heavy rock music since the four original members got together in high school. Having been tagged hard rock, blues rock, southern stoner rock, and alternative metal by press and fans across the world alike it is safe to say one thing… “What you see is what you get,” and what you get is a musical force that has been best described as the quintessential American Rock Band.

Book of Bad Decisions, Clutch’s twelfth studio album was released on September 7, 2018 via their own Weathermaker Music label.  Book of Bad Decisions debuted at #1 on several charts around the world including the US Billboard Hard Rock chart. The album was recorded at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN by producer Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather) and consists of 15 new tracks.

It would be easy to suggest that legendary Maryland rockers Clutch have made their finest record to date. This may even be true. You see, the thing about Clutch is that ever since their 1993 debut Transnational Speedway League they’ve been in the business of writing stone cold classics, and even the most rabid fan would have trouble picking just one. Book of Bad Decisions won’t make that task any easier. Rest assured, it’s another classic.

Clutch is: Neil Fallon — Vocals/Guitar, Tim Sult — Guitar, Dan Maines — Bass, Jean-Paul Gaster — Drums/Percussion.

Torche Announce Admission For July 12;
Announce 2019 Tour Dates

Torche release Admission, the band’s fifth album, and first new music since 2015’s critically-lauded Restarter, on July 12 via Relapse Records.

“This album is more revealing of who we are. I think the core of the band is happier and more inspired than we have been in some time, and we’ve got somebody new who’s excited to be a part of it. It’s just refreshing. It feels right. It feels real,” says guitar player Jon Nuñez, referencing the band’s new line-up which includes a shift from bass to guitar for Nuñez and the addition of bass player Eric Hernandez (Wrong). Steve Brooks (guitar/vocals) and Rick Smith (drummer) round-out the band.

“Slide,” a new song from the Nuñez produced album, is streaming now: https://youtu.be/-vsj1Hcy0k4. “’Slide’ is one of the first songs Eric came to the table with, fully realized and arranged,” explains Smith. “Eric is a total beast of a songwriter. I suggested he use the first three Gary Numan records as inspiration and he came back at us with some melodically sound material that nailed the Torche vibe.”

The new song arrives as Torche announce their first wave of tour dates, including performances at this year’s Levitation, The Fest and Sled Island festivals. Tickets for all non-festival dates are on-sale this Friday at 10 am eastern.

in St. Louis, MO on May 13th, 2019

“Learn to swim.” That’s what echoed in the first few minutes of Tool’s set at the Enterprise Center as the band returned to St. Louis. Now that Tool has confirmed a new album for August 30th, the excitement and anticipation is finally at its peak because Tool is back, and St. Louis saw it first hand.

Photos in the gallery above are only the tip of the iceberg in what a spectacle this concert was. Ever-changing video sequences with alien-esque creatures moving across seven video boards. Holograms and colored spotlighting engulfing the sell-out crowd of well over 15,000 fans. Not one second was similar to another on stage as Tool played for over 90 minutes.

Along with news breaking about the upcoming album, Tool also performed the new songs “Descending” and “Invincible”. Hearing these songs is when I realized the new Tool album will live up to the hype because the new music sounds incredible.

At the end of the night, Tool closed with “Stinkfist” where people were allowed to take out their cell phones and make a digital memory. I for one love the idea of no cell phones held up and only recording/taking pictures at the very end. This rule made everyone take part in the music more and it was refreshing to be a part of an experience like this.

Tool will be performing at several arena shows for the rest of May as well as festival appearances later this year in the US. Get tickets to this if you can, as it is a show you won’t be able to truly experience by looking up footage on YouTube. Tool’s live show is worth the price of admission.

Starset Announce New Album & U.S. Tour

Starset 2019 Tour Dates

Visionary media collective STARSET have announced the release of their new album on 9.13.19, aligned with the commencement of their U.S. headline demonstrations. The dates and cities are posted in the graphic above and will be Starset’s first tour of 2019.

9.13.2019 | RECORD RELEASE | DEMONSTRATIONS INITIATE

As a big fan of Starset, this Monday morning just got a bit brighter because of this news of a new album and tour. I can’t wait to hear what the space explorers have to share in 2019.

If you haven’t seen Starset live, it’s worth checking out because the band knows how to put on a performance. It’s part rock show, part planetarium, all awesome. Oddly enough they have performed in planetariums in the past and I can’t even imagine how great it was.

This new album will be the follow up to 2017’s Vessel’s which featured the excellent “Monster”. Here’s hoping for a new single from the upcoming album in the next few weeks.

Starset’s social media posts and YouTube videos have been unlisted in order to hype curiosity. Information on the band is still available through Starset’s Facebook page here: Starset on Facebook

Starset found success in expanding their concept albums through social media and YouTube, generating over $230,000 in revenue from views from the latter as of November 2016.

Starset’s single “My Demons” had accumulated over 280 million YouTube views in the same time period. Their most commercially successful song, “Monster“, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard US Mainstream Rock Songs chart in May 2017.

Concrete Dream Share New Video/Single “Pit Trap” (feat. Hyro The Hero)

Concrete Dream Premiere Music Video Single
“Pit Trap” feat. Hyro The Hero

Band Announce Self-Titled Debut Album
Due June 28 Via E-Train Records

Combining infectious post-hardcore anthems, heavy metal riffs and electronic beats with rock/rap vocals, New Jersey-based quartet CONCRETE DREAMhave self-defined their one-of-a-kind sound as “trap metal.”

Their debut single “Pit Trap,” featuring guest vocals from fellow rap-rocker HYRO THE HERO,premiered last week (Friday, May 10) with the below music video exclusively via Outburn Magazine. It is currently available across all digital streaming platforms at this link: https://onerpm.lnk.to/pittrap.

The single marks the first new music from their self-titled debut full-length album due June 28 via E-Train RecordsHYRO THE HERO says, “Concrete Dream asked me to spit a verse on ‘Pit Trap and when I heard it, I went crazy. It’s the perfect mix of trap and metal. This song should be the soundtrack to any turn up.”

“Pit Trap is a song dedicated to those struggling, fighting and finding their own unique way through life, aka the “pit,” shares bassist/vocalist Alejandro Mena.

Vocalist Jeremiah Mayhem further adds, “Some people are born into the struggle and some people are born in the struggle, and a product of a bad environment, and that’s our character, Tony. While the pit is his escape, it’s also his downfall. He’s constantly causing trouble–it’s his retaliation with anger for what life caused him.”

CONCRETE DREAM‘s upcoming release was recorded, mixed and produced by Ricky Armellino (Ice Nine Kills, This or The Apocalypse) at Think Loud Studios in York, PAArmellino, who also worked with the band on their 2018 EP Relationshit, shared what it was like working with the band, saying,

“(Jeremiah) Mayhem and all of Concrete Dream actually walked into the studio with the goal of telling stories. I love that. They have so much enthusiasm and energy and I got to be there to help put a few exclamation points on what they were doing. I love working with these guys, they believe in themselves and it’s super infectious.”

Formed from members of varied cultural and musical backgrounds,CONCRETE DREAM brings forth a narrative of today’s culture and the struggles of life that are equal parts mercy and power.

Their live performance draws attention to these concepts with its raw intensity and passion that’s accessible to audiences big and small. Having performed with acts including Asking Alexandria, Iseestars, CKY, Tetrach and Leeway, they will next be seen at Diablo Fest Pre-Bowl Party in Brooklyn on May 17 with M.O.P. before heading to joining P.O.D. alongside comrade Hyro the Hero for a few shows.

At Welcome To Rockville, Reignwolf were not satisfied to go through the motions and get back to their bus and out of the rain. Instead, they reminded people that emotion is a part of a live rock performance and took it out on their instruments.

Dragging guitars across speakers. kicking equipment on stage during songs. Reignwolf was reminiscent of the early 90’s grunge style. As if a statement was trying to be made while the heavy bass and reverb from the music blasted from the metropolitan stage.

Canada’s Reignwolf will soon be opening up for The Who. That should be an indication of who holds Reignwolf in high regard. You can’t ask for much more in getting to open for a household name on tour.

Reignwolf’s latest album Hear Me Out was released in March 2019. Watch the music video for “Over & Over” below. For fans of rock with heavy bass and echo, check this band out because it’s something you may really love.

Architects Bring Holy Hell To St. Louis | Photos | Sauget, IL 5/10/2019

in St. Louis, MO on May 10th, 2019.

This was a big return show for UK’s metalcore heroes Architects. This was the first show for the band in St. Louis since they opened for Suicide Silence 11 years ago. According to Sam Carter, Architects played in the side room at Pop’s and no one cared.

Fast forward to 2019 and Pop’s was packed with a full house while Architects were on their headline Holy Hell tour featuring Thy Art Is Murder and While She Sleeps. Through adversity and trials, ups and downs, and a world of uphill battles…Architects still come out fighting and eventually proving why they can stay on top.

There was a thick air of smoke from the onstage effects but it added to the atmosphere because seeing the band live really felt like something special. It’s not so often tours like this come through St. Louis so it was great to have Architects here.

Holy Hell came out at the end of 2018 and made our Top 10 Albums of 2018 list. You can listen to “Doomsday” from the album below and you really should as the song is excellent.

You can check out upcoming tour dates from Architects on their Facebook page here: Architects on Facebook

Architects are a British metalcore band from BrightonEast Sussex, formed in 2004 by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle.

The band now consists of Dan Searle on drums, Alex Dean on bass guitar, Sam Carter on vocals, and Adam Christianson and Josh Middleton on guitars. Architects have been signed to Epitaph Records since 2013.

All members of the band went vegan after watching several documentaries on the subject. They also promote the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, with Carter being one of its British ambassadors.

Wilson Brings The Party To Florida | Photos | Welcome To Rockville 2019

There was a tasty nasty party in Jacksonville and Wilson was responsible for bringing it. One a wet day one of Welcome To Rockville, these Michiganders got the crowd going in a different way. Where as Wage War and Meshuggah incited a riot, Wilson got everyone to cut loose and have fun.

I feel Wilson is one of the more underrated rock bands out there and add a much needed dose of variety in a world of radio friendly, cookie-cutter rock. They are enjoying their lives and that shows when they are on stage. We need more of that and less bro-metal.

The band’s latest album Tasty Nasty is available now and you can watch the music video for the song “Like A Baller” below. One watch of that and you’ll get what Wilson is all about. You can also watch an interview I had with some of the band below where they talk about their craziest fan story ever.

Wilson will be going on tour with Steel Panther soon. You can find their tour dates and more info on their Facebook page here: Wilson on Facebook

Wilson are a five-piece rock band from East Lansing, Michigan, United States. The band formed in 2010 when founding member Jason Spencer was attending Michigan State University. Vocalist Chad Nicefield joined in late 2010. They have released three full studio albums: Full Blast Fuckery (2013), Right to Rise (2015) and Tasty Nasty (2018).

The band also released an EP in 2010 named Standing On The Reel under a different lineup, besides Jason Spencer. Wilson currently consists of Chad Nicefield (vocals), Jason Spencer (guitar), Kyle Landry (guitar), James Lascu (bass) and Matt Puhy (drums).

In This Moment Raise The Heat In Florida | Photos | Welcome To Rockville 2019

in Jacksonville, FL on May 4th, 2019.

“It feels like hell out here.”  That was a statement from Maria Brink as she addressed the crowd in the massive heat swing on day two of Welcome To Rockville.  This was not In This Moment’s first rodeo in Jacksonville but it might have been the hottest as thousands crowded toward the Monster Energy main stage to sweat along with them.

With news swirling around about a potential new album and other possibilities all surrounding the phrase “Mother”, In This Moment showed off their new stage design that looked as if it was a backdrop from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.  It worked well and fit with the band’s presentation.

I was fortunate to see In This Moment three times last year.  This is a band who is not satisfied with just performing the hits and taking a bow, but rather giving something people will remember.  It’s admirable and it worked in Jacksonville that night.  Everything from the smoke gun and effects to the Blood Girls added visuals to the music in a positive way.

The band will be hitting the road again throughout the US and it was just announced today that they will be performing at Louder Than Life 2019 in Louisville, KY.  A special message from the band about the appearance can be seen below along with the updated festival lineup.

You can find upcoming tour dates and more info on the band’s Facebook page here: In This Moment on Facebook

In This Moment is an American metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed by singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth in 2005.

Throughout their career, the band has performed on several notable tours and festivals including Ozzfest in 2007 and 2008; Warped Tour in 2009; Download Festival in 2009, 2013, and 2018; Mayhem Festival in 2010; Music as a Weapon V tour in 2011; Uproar Festival in 2012; Rock on the Range in 2012, 2013, and 2015; Carnival of Madness tour in 2013; Knotfest in 2014; Rockfest and Rocklahoma in 2015; Louder Than Life in 2017; Aftershock in 2014 and 2017; and Welcome to Rockville in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019.
