Backstage at Sonic Temple 2019, Amigo The Devil took some
time on his day off to talk about an upcoming tour with Dropkick Murphys,
performing at DWP festivals, reactions to his songs about death, and more.

If you’ve ever heard a room full of people yelling “I hope your husband dies” in a some harmoniously sloppy, drunken unison, you’ve probably stumbled into an Amigo show.
Danny Kiranos, better known to the masses as his musical counterpart Amigo The Devil, has been challenging the expectations of traditional folk, country music purists, and rock/extreme metal fans alike with his morbid, yet oddly romantic, take on folk that has amassed a dedicated and cult like fan-base.

Gojira at Sonic Temple 2019
After Gojira finished their set on the main stage at Sonic Temple, they proved to everyone just how metal they are.
That’s a big cliche to lay out as you hear many bands talk about how metal they are, but Gojira has raised that bar by a mile. What started out as a great show including a surprise appearance from Randy Blythe, turned into an immolation to the metal gods.
During bursts of pyro on a windy day in Columbus, Christian Andreu was engulfed in flame and caught fire mid song. After the song was over and seeking the attention, Joe Duplantier took to the mic asking if he was OK.
After a few slow riffs and nervous waiting, Joe asked that the crowd get Christian back on stage through chanting his name. A few moments later Andreu returned and finished the entire set with Gojira.
Whether it was Christian’s return or the band just being on their game, this was by far one of the best performances of the entire festival. The mosh pit and crowd surfers for “Stranded” looked like a crash test dummy testing site. No one could stay still and Gojira had every Temple patron’s attention.

After the fantastic Sonic Temple Festival in Ohio, six of us
got together to go over what we all saw, loved, and laughed at. It’s a long video of us laughing and talking
about our favorite performances. Sit back

Disturbed at Sonic Temple 2019
It was a unique show for Disturbed at Sonic Temple Festival. After a scare with some pyro and extreme wind earlier in the day, the band performed with their instruments and ability; having no stage setup or production.
In some ways I think this helped prove to thousands that Disturbed are much more talented than many people give credit. David Draiman’s voice carried throughout the MAPFRE Stadium. His delivery alone was enough to hook people in on Disturbed in 2019.
The band performed for over an hour with a range of songs going back to The Sickness all the way up to last year’s Evolution. Hearing “Ten Thousand Fists” with an entire crowd all raising their arms up was a memorable moment for everyone at the temple.
Disturbed will be going on the Evolution Tour later this fall through North America. You can find tour dates on their Facebook page here: Disturbed on Facebook

Ghost at Sonic Temple 2019
It’s not a secret that Ghost knows how to win a crowd over. Cardinal Copia and the Nameless Ghouls have proven why their once cult following is now an international phenomenon. Every festival goer who had never seen Ghost before was turned into a fan after being swept away by this performance in Ohio.
We danced along to “Dance Macabre” and were told our “taints will be tickled” by Cardinal Copia (yes, he really said that). Ever since Prequelle was released last year, it can’t be stressed enough that Ghost is now a mainstay in the rock and metal world.
It’s greedy to ask a band return to a festival’s following year, but it feels like any big rock and metal festival without a sermon would be missing out. Sonic Temple needs clergy and these demons should always be welcome.
Regardless if it’s a Papa or Cardinal and who is under a Ghoul mask, this band has proven to be a show worth checking out. Ghost will be going on “The Ultimate Tour Named Death” later this year through North America. You can find tour dates on their Facebook page here: Ghost on Facebook

Cold Kingdom Release Music Video for “A New Disaster”
Cold Kingdom
Hard Rock Band COLD KINGDOM has released the official music video for “A New Disaster,” the debut single off of their upcoming LP, due out May 24th, 2019.
“The process we went through to create this album really pushed us to find the things we needed to address and talk about in these songs, because we didn’t have a lot of time to waste. It ended up becoming the most adventurous thing we’ve ever done as a band. Every song comes from a very real and genuine place, and as a result we have a record that we’re extremely proud of and excited to be playing live throughout 2019.” – Cold Kingdom
Born of Minneapolis in 2014, Cold Kingdom is a full-out, juggernaut hard rock band that dispenses a lethal combination of fury and sentiment, delivering emotional lyrics wrapped in an unbreakable hard rock casing.
Cold Kingdom brings an unfailing drive to play energy-filled
shows every time they walk on stage, a quality that gets ever-rarer in today’s
arena. In their years of performing live they’ve had the experience of touring
the west coast in support of Shinedown and opening for acts
such as Chevelle, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Saving
Abel, Puddle of Mudd, and Nonpoint, as well as
contributing to some of the Midwest’s largest music festivals, including Northern
Invasion, RockFest, Summerfest, Moondance
Jam, and Halfway Jam.
Their first released album, The Moon and the Fool,
brought their musical dreams roaring to life, with the singles “Crash
Poet,” “Let it Burn,” and “Surrender” quickly becoming
fan favorites. Their eponymous EP, produced by Shinedown’s Eric Bass,
further pushed their rock to an even greater creative edge with songs like
“The Break” and “Perfect Chambers”. Their long-awaited full
length album release for 2019 represents a creative outpouring for the band,
with “A New Disaster” leading the charge.
More than just a band, this close-knit family is always looking forward to new challenges, new venues, and new fans, because that’s what it’s all about to Cold Kingdom: the fans. The Midwest is their home, but they’re excited to grow and make new friends all around the country, bringing their distinctive sound to all corners, both domestically and beyond. Cold Kingdom is also forever thankful to the friends, family, fans, bands and companies that so significantly contribute to their success.
