Batushka Share New Song + Video For “Wieczernia” New Album Hospodi Out July 12 Via Metal Blade
Records
Batushka
Emerging from the shadows of eastern Poland back in 2015, black metal band Batushka have established themselves as one of the modern era’s most powerful and evocative bands.
Harnessing the fire and fury of arcane black metal and channeling it through the reverberant grandeur of ancient rituals of worship, the band’s debut album Litourgiya stood apart from the extreme metal hordes: a monument to originality, depth and dark mysticism that swiftly cast its spell over the metal underground and beyond.
The band will release its sophomore album Hospodi through Metal Blade Records on July 12. The album is available for pre-order here, here, or here.
Named after an Old Church Slavonic word for “God,” Hospodi enhances all the unique qualities that made the band such an instant phenomenon, while offering an entirely distinct and fresh sensory experience. The album boasts the most ferocious and bewitching songs the band has penned to date — along with a newfound sense of rock swagger.
“The whole album is a concept based on the Liturgy of Death, the prayers for the dead, and Orthodox funeral rites and dirges,” said the band. “It’s all about a ritual that involves the dead and the mourners. We also used a lot of old folk songs and elegies from our homeland. These are sung during the wake, around the casket, in the deceased person’s home. Nowadays, only a few older people know them and still sing them accordingly in our region. We decided to cherish that tradition and I’m glad that with our album these songs and rites will survive.”
Crown The Empire Release “Sudden Sky” Video Band Announces Tour With Attila, Veil Of Maya, & Gideon
Crown The Empire
Crown the Empire have dropped the new video for “Sudden Sky.” Watch it here.
The band issued the following statement offering insight
into the song and the video.
“We’re born into this world with nothing. No
preconceptions. No knowledge of how we got here. No awareness of what or who we
are. This is where conformity begins…
“Today, our society is being shaped by the digital
revolution. Technology is growing at an exponential rate. Humans are
more connected than ever before. Unlimited information is in the palm of
our hands. But there’s something wrong…we’ve become emotionally
disconnected.
“Instead of confronting our problems, we numb them with
drugs and technological overload. We’re addicted to social media and instant
gratification. The lines between what’s real and what’s not are extremely
blurred.
“There’s a glitch in this system and we need to find a solution before it’s too late…The music video for ‘Sudden Sky’ is a visual representation of this never-ending cycle. By watching this, you are submersing yourself into our view on the current state of humanity. Thank you for listening. We hope you enjoy.”
The band previously shared the video for “what i am.” Watch + listen here. Crown the Empire also previously dropped the epic new song + video for “20/20.” Watch + listen here.

NorthlaneRelease New Single “Talking Heads” New Album Alien Out August 2
Northlane
Northlane have released their brand-new single,”Talking Heads,”taken from their upcoming fifth studio album, Alien, out August 2 via UNFD. Listen to “Talking Heads,” which premiered last night via Twitch, here.
The song “talks about the insecurities and anxiety that come with growing up in a violent home with drug addicted parents,” said singer Marcus Bridge. “That trauma had made it difficult to express my thoughts and ideas in the past, both emotionally and creatively.”
Bridge adds, “We started working on this song pretty early in the process and I think writing it actually started to erase a lot of that insecurity, helping me open up a lot more for the rest of Alien. I think it’s important to know that there are a lot of people who feel the same way. I hope with this song and the issues talked about on rest of the album, that people will start to feel comfortable opening up about their past, turning it from a weakness to a strength in the process.”
The band previously dropped the new track “Bloodline.” Listen to the song and watch the video here.
Fans can pre-order Alienhere. Alien is also available with exclusive vinyl, CD, and merch options in limited quantities worldwide here.
In support of Alien, Northlanewill return to North America for a headline run throughout August and September with Erra, Currents, and Crystal Lake. All North American dates are below.
For a band that have traditionally focused on wider issues in the outside world, Alienis easily the most personal statement of their career. “I was raised in hell but I made it out,” Bridge said. “Raised in a place I shouldn’t have been, and no child should have been. But I’ve been able to break free.”
While some long-time listeners might assume that the title Alienis a continuation of the space and futuristic themes that have characterized previous Northlanealbums, it is instead a reflection of the alienation Bridge felt as a child “who grew up in a weird, unusual household and who was bullied at school because of it.”
Produced by the band, the album was recorded at Chris Blancato’s studio in Sydney, where Northlane recorded their first EP, 2010’s Hollow Existence. Bridge did his vocals at Sydney’s Electric Sun Studios, where the quintet made their 2011 debut album Discoveries.
For a band marking their tenth anniversary in 2019, Alien is a bold leap forward; the work of a group fighting their way out of their corner by moving forward rather than looking back. Their previous three albums may have debuted in the Top 5 in — with Nodelanding at Number One before going on to win an ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album, an accolade also awarded to Mesmer. But Northlaneare in no mood to play it safe.

fit in with what everybody else is doing.”

When Abbath announced that he had left IMMORTAL, it sent massive shockwaves through the metal scene. The iconic frontman had long become the “face” of the Norwegian black scene, his image synonymous with the genre. Upon releasing his debut album with his eponymous new band, ABBATH, in 2016, trve fans were satiated with a dose of icy, blackened fury.
Now, the Norwegian giant returns for round two, armed with a refined lineup and ready to strike with a sophomore effort that is sure to once again exceed the expectations of Abbath’s loyal fanbase. ‘Outstrider’ sees a maturation in sound, delivering a tighter, well-rounded offering from the band as they come into their own identity.
While there are moments that certainly channel the frosty hallmarks of IMMORTAL, there is no danger ofABBATH repeating that formula. ABBATH draws from NWOBM and melodic influences, adding a fresh new flavor to the sound that the band’s founder came to define.
‘Oustrider’ consists of eight, crushing original songs and concludes with a fiery BATHORY cover. The album promises a full-on aural assault from start to finish with frigid riffage and a robust pocket that are layered with vocals from one of the most identifiable voices in black metal. If you thought ABBATH came in hot with their last record, just wait until you hear this!

Texas Hippie Coalition Releases “Moonshine”
Music Video
Texas Hippie Coalition has released a new music video today for their current single “Moonshine” exclusively via Revolver Magazine. Directed by veteran director Justin Reich (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, EVERY TIME I DIE) this is the first music video we’ve seen from the group from their latest LP High In The Saddle due out tomorrow.
“I’ve always wanted to make a Quentin Tarantino type video, flashing forward & back,” says frontman Big Dad Ritch. “Grainy and sexy like an old B movie. Grindhouse style. That’s the direction we took with the video.”
As heard on SiriusXM’s Octane “Test Drive”, “Moonshine” was the third most added at the BDS Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart last week. “Moonshine” oozes everything THC stands for and smells like. A true THC manifesto, if ever there was one: swampy grooves, Crüe type partying, and a Man in Black style saga.
Big Dad Ritch adds, “Some men refer to their lady as the light of their life, their sweet sunshine. Me being a man of the darkness, a lord of the night, I do all my dirty deeds under the moonlight. I call my sweet thang, my MOONSHINE.” Texas Hippie Coalition is out on the road right now on the aptly named “Haulin’ Moonshine Tour” with roughly two weeks to go. Tickets are on sale now.
Tour Dates: 5/30 Cincinnati, OH Riverfront Live 5/31 Syracuse, NY Lost Horizon 6/1 Brooklyn, NY Knitting Factory 6/2 Clifton, NJ Dingbatz 6/4 Pittsburgh, PA Craft house 6/5 Lancaster, PA Chameleon Club 6/7 Richmond, VA Canal Club 6/8 Jacksonville, NC Tar-heals 6/9 Johnson City, TN OT’s 6/19 Austin, TX Dirty Dogg Saloon 6/20 Houston, TX Scout Bar 6/21 Dallas, TX GMBG
THC will release High In The Saddle, tomorrow,
May 31, 2019, via Entertainment One (eOne). High in the Saddle is
a record full of unashamed, full-throttle ass kicking. It’s the band’s second
pairing with producer Bob Marlette (Black Stone Cherry, Rob Zombie) and sixth
album overall, on the heels of their #2 Billboard Heatseekers slab, Dark
Side of Black. Pre-orders are available now.
Backyard barbeques, barroom brawls, tent revivals, and big
rock festivals alike are suitable environments for the Red Dirt Metal of THC, a
band with a sound so devilishly electrifying that they had to come up with a
new genre to describe it.
BIG DAD RITCH captains this pirate ship of bikers, outlaws,
troubadours, and hellraisers, welcoming all comers to the THC party with
gregarious charisma and Southern charm. Across a half dozen albums, countless
club gigs, and show-stealing performances at Rockstar Mayhem, THC has spread
the good word of big riffs, big hooks, and wild times.
Ritch puts the band’s evolution in Old West terms. “In
the beginning, you’re an outlaw looking for direction. You gotta get the best
guys for the job behind you,” he explains. “Now we know how to
rob banks, how to rob stagecoaches, and how to rob trains.”
“I’m just out to have fun, man,” Ritch says with
genuine modesty. “I never look at this as something I have to do. It’s
something I /get/ to do. I just thank the Lord above that He has given me this
talent that has allowed me to garner these wonderful things in life.”
Texas Hippie Coalition continues to ride or die for truth-telling, unashamed, Red Dirt Metal badassery, winning over new acolytes every damn day. As Blabbermouth once asked:“How many more reasons do you need to try a little THC? Everybody’s doing it.”
The Blue Stones Release “Be My Fire” Music Video New Lp Black Holes Out Now
Alt-rock duo The Blue Stones release the new video for the single “Be My Fire” today.
“We like to think of ‘Be My Fire’ as a metaphor for love
and lust,” says frontman Tarek Jafar. “We wanted a
video that would capture fun, flirting and pursuit. ‘Be My Fire’ is that song
you hear when toggling between fantasy and reality.”
Just wrapping a U.S. tour supporting Grandson and several
festival dates including Bottle Rock, Shaky Knees, LaureLive, and 98Rock
Festivals, The Blue Stones are working on new music with plans to release new
material this Fall. Later this year, the band will be heading
overseas to headline their first European tour. Fans in Europe can expect to
see a brand new set. Full tour dates are below.
The Blue Stones recently released three new videos filmed when the band stopped
by SiriusXM. In addition to two original songs, the group did a knockout cover
of The Rolling Stones classic, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Those
tracks and more are featured on an all-new EP that came out on January 11,
2019, titled, Live In SiriusXM Studios.
Late last year the group debuted a music video for their hit single, “Black Holes (Solid Ground),” via Billboard Magazine. Directed by Jason Lester and filmed in Los Angeles, CA, this was the first music video the band had released from their new LP. “Black Holes (Solid Ground)” peaked at #31 on the Alternative Chart and #22 on the Mainstream Rock Chart simultaneously, a feat not many artists get to claim and even fewer claim on an independent record label.

The Blue Stones have seen massive success in the new music business’ streaming model. Prestigious Spotify playlists like Rock This, Totally Alt, New Noise, Dirty Rock and more have all featured the band’s hit single, “Black Holes (Solid Ground).”
Fans will recognize “Rolling With The Punches” and “Black
Holes (Solid Ground)” as they have received several placements in
the USA Network’s hit show Suits, Showtime’s comedy series Shameless and ESPN’s
Monday Night Football. “Black Holes (Solid Ground)” which is
the official lead single has amassed over XX Million Worldwide Streams, an
impressive feat by an unsigned band.
Black Holes was released in October of
last year to some credible critical acclaim. Alternative Press put it well by
saying the band “is quickly carving out a name for themselves in the
Blues Rock, Alt Garage world-making stages quake and leaving only one question
in their wake: ‘All that from two guys?’”
Listening to the larger-than-life, but tight and precise blues-rock of The Blue Stones on their eOne debut, Black Holes, it is astonishing to discover just two people create all that sound and fury.
Blue OctoberGripping New Documentary Get
Back Up
Covers Their Struggles with Depression, Drugs, and Alcohol
“You have a choice. You can choose drugs or you can choose your family.”
It’s an ultimatum that no addict wants to hear, especially not a platinum-selling rock star like Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October. But that’s exactly what his wife Sarah said to him, as seen in the powerful and riveting new trailer for the upcoming music documentary GET BACK UP.
While the ultimatum is intended to be focused on his immediate family unit, this demand of finality can be seen as a universal plea that includes his band, management and ultimately his fans, as witnessed in powerful and gripping feature-length film as directed by acclaimed Emmy-winning director Norry Niven (Dexter, Chasing Shakespeare, American Idol).
The trailer which gets released on YouTube today offers a snapshot of Blue October’s – and more centrally, Furstenfeld’s – struggles and near-immolation with depression, drug and alcohol-abuse and how it affects the orbit around him and his ultimate and hopeful redemption and triumph of the human spirit.
Filmed over the span of nearly a decade through hundreds of shows worldwide, GET BACK UP isn’t just the story of Blue October’s meteoric rise to the top of the charts and then its equally quick demise. The film also deals with Justin’s mental health issues and thoughts of suicide which leads to a more personal story documenting Furstenfeld’s struggles and how they fractured and damaged his loving family.
“I always knew my head and heart were different. My head was darker… and my heart was much, much bigger,” says Furstenfeld in the film’s trailer. With his self-flagellation and recovery splayed out in the documentary, what ultimately saves him is his newfound balance between head and heart.
Mirroring the continued rise of his health, mind and family, Furstenfeld and Blue October has been on a similar rebound as well. When his addictions got the better of him, the health of the band suffered as well… but now, as he gains more and more strength and gets to a much healthier and happier frame of mind and body, the band’s music has witnessed a resurgence with the release of their ninth album I Hope You’re Happywhich debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Album Chart and #2 on its Alternative Album Chart. Known for their previous platinum singles like “Into The Ocean,”“Hate Me,” and “Calling You,” the new album, which embraces Furstenfeld’s new lease on life, enjoyed immediate success with its first two singles “I Hope You’re Happy” and “Daylight,” both of which charted high on US Alternative Airplay Chart.
After spending 25 weeks on the US Alternative Airplay Chart and peaking at #14, “I Hope You’re Happy” crossed over to the US Hot AC Chart, reaching #34 and being the 35th most-played song in 2018. “Daylight” hit #22 on the US Alternative Airplay Chart, making “Daylight” the second song from I Hope You’re Happy to impact this chart.
Their latest single “King” reached #34 on the Alternative Chart too, making it their third track on that chart’s Top 40 in less than a year. The fact that I Hope You’re Happy was released on indie label Up/Down-Brando Records makes this feat even more notable.
GET BACK UP will be premiering on the film festival circuit Fall 2019.
