Beartooth Return To Florida For A Riot | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

In a wet patch of grass on day one of Welcome To Rockville 2019, Beartooth had the wildest crowd of the festival up to that point. It’s become a standard now for Beartooth that when they play at any festival, the crowd will be present and get as wild and unruly as possible.

Florida is already a chaotic place. Look up #FloridaMan on Twitter if you want proof (brace yourself for what you’ll find). But Beartooth working up a crowd of thousands in Metropolitan Park only added to the sunshine state’s insanity.

Beartooth has been promoting their latest album Disease which came out in September 2018. This is the band’s third full album and what FM/SiriusXM are still playing due to requests from what’s becoming a diehard fanbase.

They will be attending various festivals throughout the remainder of 2019. You can find their dates and more information on their Facebook page here: Beartooth on Facebook

Incubus Has The Best Concerts To Sing Along With | Photos | Welcome To Rockville 2019

It’s hard to believe that Make Yourself has been out for twenty years. It’s harder to believe that when you see Incubus live because when you hear them, you can tell they still have it.

Incubus closed out the Metropolitan Stage on day three of Welcome To Rockville. This was the second time I have seen Incubus live and what I love about watching this band is that after a few songs the entire show turns into a sing-a-long from the crowd. It’s almost impulsive that you can’t stay quiet and you want to sing with Brandon Boyd.

Whether it’s a jam session or a glorified choir of thousands in Florida, the show is still described as something people enjoyed. It wasn’t about looking tough or trying to grab everyone’s attention to steal the show. Incubus just did what they do best, and people left with a smile on their face because of it.

Incubus has recentely announced a massive US tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Make Yourself. You can find tour dates and more info on their Facebook page here: Incubus on Facebook

Dorothy Talks Writing A New Album, Upcoming Tour With Breaking Benjamin, A Creepy Fan Wearing Her Own Lipstick & More

At Welcome To Rockville 2019, Dorothy stopped to talk about writing for her upcoming third album and playing on her longest tour ever with Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle.

She also talks about one of her craziest fan stories including a crazy guy with lipstick. It’s intense. I am legit happy that she is still alive and hasn’t been abducted or something.

Bring Me The Horizon Bring Their Mantra with Fire | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

Bring Me The Horizon has stepped up their stage performance and presentation and it really shows. On stage dancers, pyro, uniforms, and a lot of lighting. It really feels like BMTH has come out swinging and the men are reinvigorated. Day three of Welcome To Rockville was in for a surprise with everything that BMTH brought.

Hearing songs range from “The House Of Wolves” to opening with “MANTRA”, it proved to me that Bring Me The Horizon are able to mature while still able to perform the hits. I admit that I wasn’t crazy about the band’s latest album Amo, but hearing the songs live made a better impression on me and the music is infectious in a live setting.

The last time I heard Oli Sykes sing live in 2017, he was having serious throat/voice issues. In 2019 it sounded like he was back in form and could deliver on multiple levels. It’s good to hear him doing well.

Bring Me The Horizon is going on tour through the US this summer as well as making festival appearances. You can find more info on their Facebook page here: Bring Me The Horizon on Facebook

Bring Me the Horizon (often abbreviated as BMTH) are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004. The group consists of lead vocalist Oliver Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish.

They are signed to RCA Records globally and Columbia Records exclusively in the United States. The style of their early work, including their debut album Count Your Blessings, has been described primarily as deathcore, but they started to adopt a more eclectic style of metalcoreon later albums.

Furthermore, their fifth album That’s the Spirit marked a shift in their sound to less aggressive rock music styles.[ In addition, their sixth album Amo saw a shift into different genres, such as electronicapop and hip hop.

Evanescence Returns To Jacksonville | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

In the opening of Evanescence’s set on day one of Welcome To Rockville, Amy Lee said that Jacksonville is a special place with a lot of history for the band. May 3rd, 2019 also marks the return of Evanescence to this specific festival.

This was my third time seeing Evanescence live; previously in 2016 and then summer of 2018 on the special tour with Lindsey Stirling. Amy Lee said that they had a great time doing something different through last year, but it’s now time to get back to what they know.

Amy Lee span around like a ball of energy as she usually does to huge backlighting and strobes. The band were into it. The crowd at Rockville may have been soaked from the bad weather earlier in the day but people still crammed in by the thousands for the set.

We keep hearing about potential new music from Evanescence. The most recent being the reimagined Synthesis which stripped down many of the band’s greatest hits into digital and electronic works). Here’s hoping we can get something new in 2019. If Tool can announce a new album in 2019, then anything is possible.

Evanescence is continuing their festival and amphitheater tour through various US cities and will be heading to Europe later this year. You can find more info on their Facebook page here: Evanescence on Facebook

Killswitch Engage Perform Their Rain Dance In Florida | Photos | Welcome To Rockville 2019

It was about four songs into Killswitch Engage’s performance that the flood rain started coming in and the band’s performance was cut short. The festival evacuation proceeded and metal fans shed a little tear in the rain knowing they had to leave a great band behind on stage.

In those four songs KSE still delivered. Whether it’s Adam drinking a beer while playing or Jesse screaming his head off, they always make sure fans get what they expect and then some.

What I love about watching Killswitch Engage live is that it’s how music and a live show should be: fun. You have a good time while watching this band play. It’s not an overly dramatic presentation or 20 minutes of a band member talking about current issues to stay topical and relevant (some bands are great for that but some really force it). KSE wants to play. That’s what takes priority.

The good news is that KSE is going on tour with Parkway Drive. Check out that tour if it comes remotely close to where you live. You can find the band’s upcoming tour dates on their Facebook page here: Killswitch Engage on Facebook.

Before Wilson’s set at Welcome To Rockville 2019, Chad and Puhy talk about their experience in Florida, performing live, going on tour with Steel Panther, and give a recap on their craziest fan experience ever.

Rob Zombie Closes Out Day Two of Welcome To Rockville with Alien Dancing | Photos | Welcome To Rockville

It was an extremely sweaty night on day two at Welcome To Rockville but that’s not going to stop everyone from coming to the party. Anyone who has ever seen Rob Zombie live knows that the good times go down as soon as “Dead City Radio” starts being played.

There is talk that Rob Zombie will have a new album in 2019, but in the meantime we got to relive many of the hits from the deadman’s legacy; both from 90’s hits all the way up to songs from 2016’s The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser. It was during the first few songs that a giant alien was brought on stage to dance along that I think everyone realized they were in for a wild Saturday night.

As dark as it got that night, the UFO lights along with the monsters on stage made sure everything was illuminated. Hearing “Dragula” live never gets old and every time Rob performs, you can tell it’s meant to entertain every single time. It’s never a case of going through the motions.

Rob Zombie will be making other festival appearances along with touring and if we are lucky, new music. You can keep up to date with everything Zombie-esque on the Facebook page here: Rob Zombie on Facebook
