Dorothy Kicks Off Longest Tour To Date | Photos | St. Louis, MO

There are few blues-rock groups going today that can stand out in a scene filled with metalcore and riff-chugging post-grunge bands. There are even fewer that front a strong female vocalist. Dorothy not only stands out in this way, but towers over other bands that attepmt the sound.

On an extremely hot day in St. Louis, Dorothy performed to over 10,000 people on the first date of Dorothy’s longest tour to date supporting Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle. There were some technical difficulties in the opening few minutes with audio levels, however everything sounded fine from the crowd. It might have been issues with the in-ear audio because the guitars and vocals came in solid through the amphitheater.

It’s worth pointing out that some big concerts don’t have the entire venue packed until later in the night for headliners. That was not the case last night as Dorothy performed in front of a packed house in the late afternoon.

New music is being written according to an interview this past May. Hearing some of her biggest songs played live reinvigorated my interest to hear what she has planned for the future.

Dorothy will be on the massive tour going through the rest of summer and into fall. You can find upcoming tour dates on the Facebook page here: Dorothy on Facebook

No one can be unhappy when handed a balloon.

That theory was proved when Circa Survive vocalist Anthony Green was thrown a blue balloon on stage in which he made sure it became a part of the show. After screaming into it and using it as a paddle-ball type toy, the man found a way to make something as simple as a balloon seem intense.

The Pennsylvania based band were swarmed in colors and smoke throughout their set which added a crazy ambiance for the rain-soaked crowd in St. Louis. Circa Survive proved why they are one of the big four of this tour with their performance here. The band has a presence on stage that is hard to ignore.

This was my second time seeing the band perform live, the first being in a smaller club in Jacksonville back in 2014. I can’t stress enough that Circa knows how to give fans their money’s worth regardless of the venue or situation. Circa Survive is a band that I feel would benefit any tour and especially supporting the big national names or performing at Danny Wimmer Presents festivals.

Circa Survive will be continuing on the Rockstar Disrupt Festival this summer. You can find tour dates and more info on the band’s Facebook page here: Circa Survive on Facebook

It was twelve months ago that The Used visited St. Louis, MO as a part of the final Vans’ Warped Tour. Twelve months later, they return with the Rockstar Disrupt Festival.

While on stage during the endless rainstorm that Monday, it felt like the band was there to make a statement. Whether that statement was a direct remark and saying goodbye to Trump, or encouraging everyone to raise their middle finger, it was clear that they had a sense of focus and energy in their performance.

The band is currently promoting their latest album The Canyon which came out in 2017. Here’s hoping we will hear new music soon.

Setlist:
Take It Away
The Bird and the Worm
Listening
All That I’ve Got
The Taste of Ink
I Caught Fire
Wonderwall
Buried Myself Alive
Blood on My Hands
Pretty Handsome Awkward
A Box Full of Sharp Objects

The Used will be continuing on the road with Rockstar Disrupt Festival this summer. You can find upcoming tour dates and more information on the band’s Facebook page here: The Used on Facebook

The Struts Release Video For “Dancing In The Street”

The Struts Release Video For “Dancing In The Street”
Band On North American Headline Tour

Interscope rock band The Struts release the video for new song “Dancing In The Street” today.  Watch the clip here.

The band gives a new take on the 60s classic that has been recorded by numerous artists. “Our take on ‘Dancing In The Street’ was about bringing in the best elements of all the versions that already exist,” says The Struts lead singer Luke Spiller.  “Its got soul and feels great to play live. It really gets people moving and dancing of course. I hope everyone else enjoys it.”

This newly recorded version of “Dancing In The Street” is featured in The Dodge brand’s summer advertising campaign which launched across television, social and digital channels last week.  Watch the 30-second television spot here.

Formed in Derby, England in 2012, The Struts have found themselves massively embraced by some of the greatest icons in rock-and-roll history. Along with opening for Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Guns N’ Roses, the U.K.-bred four-piece was also hand-picked by Mötley Crüe to serve as the supporting act for their last-ever performances.

The Struts released their sophomore albumYOUNG&DANGEROUS in the fall of 2018 and have been on the road nonstop since their formation including worldwide headline shows and prestigious festival plays including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Bottle Rock, Isle of Wright and many more. The Struts recently finished up a sold-out European tour and are currently touring the states on their Young& Dangerous Tour 2019. Visit thestruts.comfor more info.

Texas Hippie Coalition Releases “Dirty Finger” Music Video

Texas Hippie Coalition Releases
“Dirty Finger” Music Video

Texas Hippie Coalition has released a new music video today for “Dirty Finger.” Once again directed by veteran director Justin Reich (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, EVERY TIME I DIE) this is the second music video the band has released from their recently released LP, High In The Saddle

“Let me see your dirty finger in the air! This set was the most fun I’ve ever had shooting a video, bar none, we just cut loose” says frontman Big Dad Ritch. “Around 4:20 pm, we started partying, grilling, drinking, and burnin’ with a bunch of friends and extended family. BarBQ, Beer, and Bud! Living in live color! That’s OUTLAW Baby!”

“Dirty Finger” embodies Texas Hippie Coalition in every way. A real THC manifesto, if ever there was one: swampy grooves, Crüe-type partying, and a Man in Blackstyle saga. It is a face-melting fireball of fun that works just as well in an arena or with a solitary sing-a-long while speeding down the highway.

Texas Hippie Coalition also recently wrapped up the “Haulin’ Moonshine Tour,” reeling in some serious critical acclaim. After a recent show at The Tarheel in Jacksonville, NCSideStage Magazine reported, “You will not regret this live show–it’s more than just music, but a family experience at a Hippie show.”

THC released High In The Saddle, on May 31, 2019, via Entertainment One (eOne) to high praise. Classic Rock Magazine already added the album to the list of “50 Best Rock Albums of 2019 (so far)” saying, “’High In The Saddle’ is a ridiculous yet somehow magnificent album, riddled with redneck clichés, with songs that might be cast as novelty were they not so well written.”

High in the Saddle is a record full of unashamed, full-throttle ass kicking. It’s the band’s second pairing with producer Bob Marlette (Black Stone Cherry, Rob Zombie) and sixth album overall, on the heels of their #2 Billboard Heatseekers slab, Dark Side of Black

Backyard barbeques, barroom brawls, tent revivals, and big rock festivals alike are suitable environments for the Red Dirt Metal of THC, a band with a sound so devilishly electrifying that they had to come up with a new genre to describe it.

BIG DAD RITCH captains this pirate ship of bikers, outlaws, troubadours, and hellraisers, welcoming all comers to the THC party with gregarious charisma and Southern charm. Across a half dozen albums, countless club gigs, and show-stealing performances at Rockstar Mayhem, THC has spread the good word of big riffs, big hooks, and wild times.

Ritch puts the band’s evolution in Old West terms. “In the beginning, you’re an outlaw looking for direction. You gotta get the best guys for the job behind you,” he explains. “Now we know how to rob banks, how to rob stagecoaches, and how to rob trains.”

“I’m just out to have fun, man,” Ritch says with genuine modesty. “I never look at this as something I have to do. It’s something I /get/ to do. I just thank the Lord above that He has given me this talent that has allowed me to garner these wonderful things in life.”  Texas Hippie Coalition continues to ride or die for truth-telling, unashamed, Red Dirt Metal badassery, winning over new acolytes every damn day. As Blabbermouth once asked:“How many more reasons do you need to try a little THC? Everybody’s doing it.”

“Thank you for sticking around until the end of the night everyone.” That was the introduction from Dustin Kensrue as he addressed the waterlogged crowd in St. Louis after a full day of rain and music.

The Rockstar Disrupt Festival is a big tour that in some ways replaced the idea of Warped Tour, now that Warped is only doing three big festival weekends. Even though it was a different feeling at Disrupt, this still feels like the spiritual successor to years of Warped Tour.

This was a set where the music took stage as opposed to a live spectacle with pyro or onstage antics. The band sounded great as they always do. This was my third time seeing the California natives and they have stayed consistently solid since their return in 2015.

Thrice will be continuing on the Rockstar Disrupt Festival this summer. You can find tour dates and more information on the band’s Facebook page here: Thrice on Facebook

Sum 41 Get Ready For Order In Decline | Photos | St. Louis, MO

Days before the release of Order In Decline, Sum 41 took the stage at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in St. Louis, MO on an extremely rainy day on the Rockstar Disrupt Festival.

This was the second time I had seen Sum 41 live. The first time was at Warped Tour 2016 in Orlando, FL and I honestly think the band is more focused and in tune as the years have gone on. Even with the lively and fun cover songs the band performed at the amphitheater, you can sense the intensity and drive from the band.

I honestly think part of that intensity comes from the upcoming release. Order In Decline is a fantastic album and arguably the band’s heaviest to date, going back to punk roots of standing up to the man while incorporating shades of metal. Order In Decline will be proof that the Canadians still have much more to offer in rock and they have no problem pointing out where the problems are in the world.

Sum 41 will be continuing on the Rockstar Disrupt Festival this summer and then hitting up big festivals in the US. You can find upcoming tour dates on the band’s Facebook page here: Sum 41 on Facebook

Killswitch Engage Drop New Song “I Am Broken Too”

Killswitch Engage Share New Song “I Am Broken Too”
New Album Atonement To Be Released August 16

Grammy-nominated and Gold-selling hard rock heavyweights Killswitch Engage have just dropped the new song “I Am Broken Too.” Listen and watch the lyric video here, which features singer Jesse Leach’s handwritten lyrics.

The song appears on the band’s eighth album, Atonement, out August 16 on Metal Blade Records. The album is available for pre-order here. KsE previously shared the new single “Unleashed.” Watch the visualizer here.

Leach discussed “I Am Broken Too” exclusively with Alternative Press. Read the interview here

The band is also donating a portion of the proceeds from the song to Hope for the Day, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention by providing outreach and mental health education through the use of music and art.

“This song is very near and dear to my heart,” Leach explains. “I wanted the listener to feel the urgency, the heaviness of the topic as well as a possible connection. Many people suffer from mental illness in one form or another. I want nothing more than for people to feel like they are not alone in this struggle. There is always someone there to help, to listen, and to be there for you. Don’t lose hope and don’t let your brokenness consume you. Broken can be fixed, or at the very least, maintained. No one is alone in this fight.”

Regarding the decision to work with Hope for the Day, Leach says, “I personally chose Hope for the Day to be the organization we partner with for this song. I admire their tireless efforts to spread mental awareness and suicide prevention. The phrase and the hashtag #ItsOkNotToBeOk is a simple yet powerful statement. I think it coincides with #IamBrokenToo perfectly! Johnny Boucher and his organization are out spreading the powerful message of connectivity and solidarity in this fight for understanding mental health issues. I’m honored to have them on our team for this song and this movement to continue to raise awareness and keep the conversation going for mental health issues.”

“‘I Am Broken Too’ is a song that truly encompasses what we need to be doing in society, talking about what we have been through,” Boucher says. “We know that by talking about our experiences, we are able to relate and be encouraged to ask for help. Hope for the Day has been working with KsE on breaking the silence around mental health since 2014, and we couldn’t be more excited to continue working with them on raising the visibility of resources in our communities.”

KsE will also be doing an exclusive in-store performance on August 14 at 5pm PT at Amoeba Music Hollywood. Fans will be able to purchase the album to get guaranteed admission and a limited-edition “Live at Amoeba” poster. All further details about this show are here.

The band will also perform at special intimate show at The Space in Las Vegas on August 13. Tickets go on sale today at this location.

Killswitch Engage are currently on tour with Clutch (see dates below). Fans attending the dates with Clutch will be able to purchase a limited edition laminate containing a unique code to receive a CD copy of the new album Atonement delivered to their front door on or just prior to the August 16 release date (may not apply for some of the festival dates).

Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Dates Announced with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents:
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour has announced that U.K. rockers Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes will headline their hotly-awaited Fall 2019 tour, supported by Canadian all-girl alt-rock band The Beaches. The tour launches on September 23 in NYC and hits major North American cities including Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and more.

Named by Loudwire as “a band to keep your eye on in 2019,” Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes blew listeners away with their debut album, Blossom, before hitting the UK Top Ten with 2017’s Modern Ruin. For Carter and co-songwriter Dean Richardson, however, it’s always been about the third album, and on End of Suffering, the pair have assembled a lineup of tracks that are at once deeply vulnerable while pulsating with the explosive energy that has earned the band legions of fans worldwide.

The band’s ability to connect with their audience spans beyond the recording studio; Carter’s mind-blowing performances have caused Revolver to deem him “one of rock’s most electrifying frontmen.” Known for getting up close and personal to sing and not only crowd surf, but to perform death-defying headstands atop the crowd, Carter is bringing his signature style to fifteen dates across the U.S. and Canada for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour this fall. Full tour routing is below.

“We are honoured to headline the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. It’s given an integral platform to some genre defining artists like Logic, 21 Savage and Post Malone; and we are very excited to have the opportunity to give some blood, sweat and rock n roll to our fans and the legacy of the Outbreak Tour,” says Carter.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes will be joined on the tour by The Beaches. The girl-next-door garage rock group (who count Sir Elton John among their fans) has spent the last few years blowing away audiences across North America and the UK. With the release of their third EP, The Professional, The Beaches is pumped to bring their edgy, infectious sound to the Outbreak stage.

Tickets for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour will go on sale on Friday, July 19th at 10a.m. local atwww.outbreakpresents.com and andtherattlesnakes.com, with Spotify pre-sale from Tuesday, July 16th at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, July 18th at 10 a.m. local time.

To further prevent sexual harassment and violence at live music events, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour are proud to team up with Calling All Crows’ Here For The Music campaign. Specifically, their team will provide prevention training to the band, crew, and select fans, advocate for effective and transparent policies on each venue of the tour, and educate attendees on how to promote community safety through outreach. $1 from every ticket sold on this tour will support the Here For The Music Campaign.
