“’The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste’ just turned 30. Don’t miss it this time because we’ll be in wheelchairs for sure in another 30 years. May the fence be with you!”

“The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste” was released in November 1989 and features hit singles “Thieves,” “Burning Inside” and “So What.” The record further cemented Ministry and Jourgensen as music innovators ahead of their time, producing a voluminous, aggressive sound that became a trademark for the industrial music genre.

Mötley Crüe Introduces TUK SMITH & THE RESTLESS HEARTS

If rock is dead, someone forgot to tell Tuk Smith. He flies the flag for the genre in the same way as today’s rock idols have.  So it is only fitting he open for some of them – Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett will ‘introduce’ Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts via their upcoming stadium tour.

After cutting his teeth — among many other things — for nine years as the frontman for the Atlanta rock band Biters, Tuk’s solo debut sees him further expanding the reaches of his musical vision into an album that unifies multiple musical styles. Tuk’s debut album, Lookin’ for Love, Ready for War, showcases the versatility of his songwriting. From instantly infectious anthems to intricately arranged rockers and  Americana-tinged ballads the album favors dedication over debauchery. In many ways it’s a musical homecoming for Smith that shows that though he’s covered with battle scars from perfecting his craft, he’s come out on the other side with an amazing collection of songs.

Produced by the legendary Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Eric Clapton, My Chemical Romance) explains “People that really like honest-to-god Rock and Roll – this is the kind of stuff they’ll love.  If you are a Tom Petty fan or a Bruce Springsteen fan, if you like really great old-fashioned American Rock and Roll then I believe you’ll like Tuk’s music because it’s cut from that same cloth.  It’s original and it is it’s own thing, I think he’s the real deal!”  “What Kinda Love,” is an instantly infectious anthem that unifies Tuk’s love of rock, punk and glam into a unique amalgam of what’s missing from today’s musical landscape. “What Kinda Love” has Joan-Jett-meets-John Mellencamp grandeur and is part of a collection of songs that are a testament to the fact that you don’t need to follow trends in order to create art that fosters a connection with your audience.

Tuk produced and wrote the video, of which he explains “I think when people first hear the song they might not get its meaning right away. I wanted to create a narrative in the video that helped complement the lyrics. Having full creative vision as an artist is as rewarding as it is daunting. If something doesn’t pan out right there is no one to blame but yourself, but it’s the best feeling when your vision becomes reality. I had so many close friends and family act, be extras, and work on videos with me. I’m so lucky to have such a pool of talent and characters to pull from.”

The Word Alive Announce New Album “MONOMANIA” + Drop Video For Title Track

The Word Alive — Telle Smith (vocals), Tony Pizzuti (guitar, vocals) Zack Hansen (guitar, vocals), and Matt Horn (drums) — have announced their new album MONOMANIA. The album, produced by Eric Ron (Panic! At The Disco, Godsmack), arrives February 21 on Fearless Records.

The band has just shared the video for the title track. Watch it here:

“With ‘MONOMANIA,’ I wanted to capture the emotional roller coaster we go through as we continually kill our true selves battling the ‘madness’ we feel as we struggle with who we are, wondering at times if there’s any point to all of this,” says Smith about the track itself. “Sometimes, we’re so desperate to be heard that we get lost attempting to fit in or to stand out. It’s fucking hard learning what feels like hard lessons over and over. We fail to take ownership of our thoughts and actions, pulling us further away from facing who we are. You only really overcome that by trusting in yourself, because that’s the only way you can break the cycle.”

The Arizona-based band previously teamed up with The Noise to premiere the anthemic track “BURNING YOUR WORLD DOWN.” Listen here and here.

“When you listen to our new music, I hope you have a better understanding of our entire career,” Smith says, encompassing the album as a whole. “Maybe you can see the whole story and realize that we’re not different from you. We’ve been through it all, but we’re always trying to learn, grow, and leave something behind we feel will help people. This is our purest work. This is everything we’ve been through in the last couple of years. It’s the best conclusion of the last 10 years and the best opening to the next 10.”

The Word Alive are touring this winter with Falling In Reverse. All dates are below.

ORDINARY MAN will be available as a standard CD, deluxe CD, black vinyl, deluxe gatefold swirl color vinyl, picture disc and digital album. In addition, all physical copies of the album will include a unique code that will allow the purchaser to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win one of over 300 OZZY prizes (including an official OZZY laminate to get into any show on the 2020 “NO MORE TOURS 2,” meet and greets with OZZY, a gift certificate to the OZZY global store and much more!) All details on the sweepstakes can be found at www.ozzy.com.

“It was a lot of fun to do though it’s a lot different from my other albums,” OZZY says of the album. “We recorded it quickly, which I haven’t done since the first Black Sabbath album. This made it a different process, which I actually enjoyed.”

Recorded in Los Angeles, the album features producer Andrew Watt on guitars, Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) on bass and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums. Beyond the core band, ORDINARY MAN, features a who’s-who of OZZY friends and collaborators including Elton John, Post Malone, and Tom Morello.

“It all just came together,” OZZY explains of the guest stars. “Slash is a dear friend of mine, as is Elton. When I was writing ‘Ordinary Man,’ it reminded me of an old Elton song and I said to Sharon, ‘I wonder if he would sing on it?’ We asked and lo and behold, he agreed and sings and play piano on the song.”

The Amity Affliction Announce New Album & Release New Song “Soak Me in Bleach”

The Amity Affliction Announce New Album
Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them

Album Arrives February 21 via Pure Noise Records

ARIA-certified Australian metalcore trailblazers THE AMITY AFFLICTION — Joel Birch [vocals], Ahren Stringer [vocals, bass], Dan Brown [lead guitar], and Jon Longobardi [drums]— have announced their new album Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them. The album arrives February 21 and will be the band’s Pure Noise Records debut. It’s available for pre-order here.

To celebrate the announcement, the band unleashed a scalding new song and music video entitled “Soak Me In Bleach.” Fusing together airtight riffs, a thick groove, and a powerhouse melody, the track perfects the band’s signature combination of hard-hitting hooks and rhythms. It builds towards one of the biggest vocal refrains of the band’s career. Meanwhile, the video brings the track to life in cinematic fashion. Watch it here.

The Amity Affliction “Soak Me In Bleach”

“This album is a result of our re-found love for heavy music,” The Amity Affliction says. “We wanted to make a heavier album to back up our most recent releases to let our fans know that we understand what the majority want to hear from us. We have experimented creatively over the years and are now able to apply what we’ve learned to what we consider the perfect blend of Amity new and old.”

“Soak Me in Bleach” follows the explosive first single “All My Friends Are Dead,” which has clocked nearly three million streams since its release. Both tracks represent some of the heaviest, most memorable material and the most relatable lyrics of the band’s deeply personal catalog. As always, The Amity Affliction hold nothing back, allowing fans to get closer than ever on Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them

The Amity Affliction are gearing up to embark on a tour of their native Australia, which runs from January 9 through January 29. The band will support Beartooth in Europe from February 16 through March 6. U.S. touring is planned for spring.
