Two of the biggest bands in heavy metal – Megadeth and LAMB OF GOD – will be joining forces on a co-headline tour across North America this year, presented by SiriusXM. And to add to the firepower of this already formidable tour, Trivium and In Flames are joining, making this THE must-see heavy music package of the year. Tickets will go on general sale Friday, February 14 from livenation.com

Megadeth, fueled by Dave Mustaine’s triumphant return to the stage following his diagnosis and recovery of throat cancer, will embark on their first North American tour since 2017. Speaking on the epic announcement, Megadeth’s leader and frontman, Dave Mustaine says, “Hello me! I’m back again, better than ever and coming to a town near you with Lamb of God, Trivium and In Flames. If you want high octane metal madness this is the tour for you.”

LAMB OF GOD released their first new music in five years last week with the single “Checkmate.” The track is the first to be released from the band’s self-titled eighth studio album, due out May 8, which is one of the most anticipated and important metal records of the year. Commenting on their upcoming co-headline run, Mark Morton, lead guitarist of LAMB OF GOD, adds, “The world has never needed heavy more than it does today and top to bottom, this tour delivers! LAMB OF GOD has toured with and been friends with all of these bands for years, but for all of us to be on the same bill is something extra special. Come early and stay late. This is THE metal tour of the year.”

Trivium’s Matt Heafy adds, “We are happy to be a part of the biggest real metal tour of the year. This tour is the main event and represents heavy metal and the culture that goes with it.“

With In Flames singer, Anders Fridén stating, “We were honored to be asked to join this package. We were actually supposed to take this summer off, but of course we couldn’t say no. After playing shows with all of these guys for years, 2020 is going to feel like a kick ass reunion. See you on the road, Jesterheads!”

Produced by Live Nation, this epic 55-city tour will stretch across summer and fall, kicking off June 12 in Bristow, VA, and hit every region of the U.S. before wrapping November 13in Reno, NV. Multiple Canadian shows are scheduled as well. See full itinerary below.

Bowling for Soup & WWE Present: “Alexa Bliss” – The Single

Wrestling and rock music have been intertwined throughout the years to great success. Now the Grammy nominated legendary pop punk band Bowling For Soup have teamed up with one of WWE’s biggest stars to bring you the next chapter of the two worlds colliding with a fantastically catchy new single.

A couple of years ago, WWE Superstar and then Raw Women’s champion, “The Goddess” Alexa Bliss revealed in an interview that Bowling For Soup were her favourite band. This led to her striking up a friendship with Bowling For Soup frontman Jaret Reddick, with Alexa and the band regularly swapping social media posts and Jaret being invited as Alexa’s guest to the 2018 Royal Rumble Pay Per View. Last year Bowling For Soup returned the favour, with Alexa being invited on stage at a Spring 2019 Bowling For Soup show.

Fast forward to Autumn 2019 and Bowling For Soup were in the studio, crafting riffs and melodies for their next single. The idea for what, or more importantly who, that single should be about came naturally – Alexa Bliss!. With a main riff thats perhaps the heaviest in the history of Bowling For Soup, combined with frenetic verses, a chorus bigger than their home state of Texas and more references to Alexa Bliss and WWE than an episode of Smackdown, this is a song that will thrill fans of BFS, WWE and beyond. The video for the single, which partly pays homage to the 1980’s movie Weird Science and stars none other than Little Miss Bliss herself, can be enjoyed here:

The track is also available to stream or download on SpotifyAmazon Music and Apple Music

What does Alexa Bliss think about having her very own song written for her by her favourite band? Lets hear directly from Alexa herself:

“This song is amazing 🙂 filming the video was such a great time I had a blast. It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when your favorite band in the world makes a song about you. And Jaret is always so fun to work with and be around :-)”

Meanwhile, Bowling For Soup main man Jaret Reddick has been equally as enthusiastic about working with Alexa:

“Meeting Alexa Bliss was insane! Here is the freakin’ WWE Womens champ, and she likes our band! I’ll admit, I checked her socials after we met the first time and saw that she had worn our shirt in a photo, and tweeted about listening to us in class while still in Ohio haha…

We became fast friends. She has been such a pleasure to get to know and has been so awesome to me and my family…why WOULDN’T I write a song about her?!? ”Five feet of amazing!!!”

The release of “Alexa Bliss” comes just days before Bowling For Soup kick off their huge ‘Together Again’ UK tour with Simple Plan and Not Ur Girlfrenz. All the shows apart from London and Brighton are now sold out! For London and Brighton, you can get the last tickets at https://www.bowlingforsoup.com

MISERY INDEX Premiere “History is Rotten” Mini-Documentary

Death metal stalwarts MISERY INDEX have teamed up with Metal Hammer (UK) to premiere their brand new mini-documentary, “History is Rotten,” which explores the history of the band. You can watch the documentary in full HERE.

Moreover, MISERY INDEX have kicked off their European tour, in which they will be supporting NAPALM DEATH along with label-mates ROTTEN SOUND. The first two shows have already sold out in advance. The full itinerary can be found below.

MISERY INDEX will be touring in support of 2019’s ‘Rituals of Power,’ which can be heard in full HERE.

‘Rituals of Power’ can be purchased HERE.

Track-list
1. Universal Untruths (2:35)
2. Decline and Fall (4:36)
3. The Choir Invisible (4:26)
4. New Salem (3:24)
5. Hammering the Nails (3:46)
6. Rituals of Power (5:20)
7. They Always Come Back (5:08)
8. I Disavow (4:21)
9. Naysayer (2:26)

The band comment on the album: “‘Rituals of Power’ is a disavowal and warning against the consequences of our so-called ‘post-truth’ age. Each of the 9 songs revolves loosely around this theme, yet each track also stands very much on its own. As an album however, they are all brought to life as one ‘reanimated’ monster; it’s roughly 35 minutes of unhinged, yet cohesive, riff-driven aural ballistics. We were pissed off and on fire during both the writing and recording, and we think it shows in spades. We set out to write the best album we could, based on what we would want to hear first as fans of this music, and we could not be happier.”

MISERY INDEX return furiously with their brand new album, ‘Rituals of Power’! With their sixth full-length, the American icons of hard hitting brutality display the strength of maturity grown out of the experience gained as a relentless touring machine. The general trend of their continuous evolution to incorporate less core elements and move towards classic death metal finds a new high water mark.

When their debut EP ‘Overthrow’ was recorded in 2001 by vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton (ex-DYING FETUS) together with (then) guitarist and vocalist Mike Harrison and drummer Kevin Talley (ex-DYING FETUS), MISERY INDEX immediately charted a course to explore and push the limits of Death Metal and Grindcore, drawing influence from bands like MORBID ANGEL, NAPALM DEATH, TERRORIZER, BOLT THROWER and ENTOMBED. The erstwhile project shifted to a full time band when guitarist Sparky Voyles (ex-DYING FETUS) joined.

In 2003, MISERY INDEX unleashed their first full-length ‘Retaliate’, to exceptional reviews and followed by numerous support tours and festivals in Europe and North America. After several line-up changes, second album ‘Discordia’ was released in 2006 with even more touring in its wake. Their third full-length, ‘Traitors’ (2008) reaped raving reactions from both critics and fans and saw the band on the road again until 2009. Then MISERY INDEX dropped ‘Heirs to Thievery’ (2010) like a bomb on the Death Metal masses, shattering all expectations. The album was both a commercial and critical success, elevating the band to headlining slots. During that year, long time guitarist Sparky Voyles was replaced by Darin Morris.

A string of shows and festivals around the globe followed and on the Munich date of ‘Full of Hate Tour’ alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE, BEHEMOTH and LEGION OF THE DAMNED, the band recorded their first live album. Released early 2013, ‘Live in Munich’ perfectly epitomized the rawness and ferocity that MISERY INDEX elevated onto a new level with their fifth full length “The Killing Gods” in 2014.

Now with “Rituals of Power”, revolving around the concept of “truth”, MISERY INDEX are back with nine crushing tracks which tackle how ‘truth’ has been constructed and molded throughout history as a means to uphold power, regimes and ideologies. Brace, hold tight and run for cover, the wrath of MISERY INDEX is upon us and they are more furious than they’ve ever been.

The Used Announce ‘Heartwork’ – Due Out April 24

After months of anticipation and teasing with fans, The Used have officially announced they will be releasing their 8th full length studio album, Heartwork, on April 24th via Big Noise.

In addition to today’s announcement, The Used have released the second single from the forthcoming album, Paradise Lost, a poem by John Milton.” The song and accompanying video are larger than life and carry emotions and imagery so unique to The Used throughout, while tying in influences from one of front man Bert McCracken’s favorite authors.

“I’ve always been a bit obsessed with Paradise Lost,” shares McCracken. “I really dug deep into the poem and its author, John Milton. As I was reading a lot of his political essays I realized that a lot of what ‘Satan’ says in Paradise Lost are quotes directly from John Milton’s own mouth. A lot of people thought he was the devil back then. He had a huge problem with the show of opulence from the Church. He thought it was disgusting. His poem is about the failed revolution against the Church of England, which is Satan’s failed revolution on earth. And what’s more incredible or exciting than a failed revolution?”

Fans can pre-save the new album and stream the new single today at https://theused.ffm.to/heartwork.

Heartwork marks the return of John Feldmann to The Used family as he is producing the album and also the head of A&R at Big Noise.

I couldn’t be more honored or grateful to have one of my favorite bands of all time at my record label! They are one of the most influential bands of the last 20 years and we are making a career-defining album at the minute,” shares Feldmann. “They are one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen and Bert is quite possibly the best singer I’ve ever worked with. This has been a dream of mine since I met them in 2001.”

Feldmann signed The Used to Reprise Records in January 2002, one short year after the band formed in Orem, Utah. He also produced some of the band’s most monumental albums including their self-titled debut, Maybe Memories, In Love and Death, Lies for the Liars, Vulnerableand Imaginary Enemy.

On Heartwork, McCracken shares “The new album plays on the emotions, the sincerity, and the vulnerability of the first record and In Love and Death, with a little bit of the flair from Lies for the Liars.”

Standing in the streaming circle pit with Kesha and Halsey, the album is just as modern sounding. John Feldmann’s production is that professional. It sounds really good. Those are two really random examples, but I think if you listen to both of those records, the songs are all over the place: dance, pop, actual punk rock riffs and drums. I think music is so all over the place right now that The Used fits in perfectly.”

The band is currently on the road for a completely sold out intimate tour with support from Dragged Under. This up close and personal show is unlike any other Used show you have seen. The band has spent the last couple of weeks performing previously released single “Blow Me (Feat. Jason Aalon Butler)live. It is frenetic and explosive while showcasing the undeniable vocals of front man Bert McCracken and has absolutely taken these small rooms by storm.

August Burns Red Announce New Album “Guardians”; Release New Song “Defenders”

August Burns Red
Announce New Album Guardians,
Out April 3rd, 2020 via Fearless Records

Band Drops Video For New Song “Defender”
Watch + Listen HERE

August Burns Red have been upholding the artistic pillars of technical proficiency, airtight grooves, and thoughtful lyricism in the hard rock world for 17 years now. The two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated Pennsylvania quintet—JB Brubaker [lead guitar], Brent Rambler [rhythm guitar], Matt Greiner [drums], Jake Luhrs [lead vocals], and Dustin Davidson [bass]—are pleased to announce their eighth full length, Guardians, out April 3 on Fearless Records. The album is available for pre-order here.

ABR have just shared the video for the new song “Defender.” Watch + listen here.

“The song ‘Defender’ is about having that person who can come in and take some punches for you, and be in your corner during hard times,” says Rambler. “I am quite the comic book fan and I thought the lyrics could easily turn into an awesome animated short story — kind of like if the pages of a comic were to come to life. Luckily, everyone else agreed and we have this sick video to go along with the song.”

The band also revealed that the album is their most truly collaborative effort to date.

Guardians is the culmination of a complete and total team effort,” says Brubaker. “Dustin and I collaborated musically more than we ever have before. Jake and Brent collaborated vocally more than they ever have before. Matt bounced more drum ideas off of us than we could even comprehend.  It was the most time we’ve ever spent in the studio on one album. We’re all so proud of this record, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

August Burns Red will embark on a tour with Killswitch Engage and Light the Torch this spring in support of Guardians. All ABR tour dates are below.

LAMB OF GOD has revealed a brand new single and video, “Checkmate,” from the band’s first release in five years and the first to feature new drummer Art Cruz. The self-titled album is due out May 8 via Epic Records.

Watch “Checkmate” now at: http://lamb-of-god.com.

“‘Checkmate’ brings together all the components of the LAMB OF GOD sound that we’ve been developing over the last two decades, but with the ambition and ferocity that comes with the start of a new chapter for our band,” says guitarist Mark Morton. “Re-energized and reignited, this is LAMB OF GOD 2020. We’ve never been more excited.”

The fact that the band’s eighth studio effort would warrant ‘self-titled’ status is a testament to the band’s pride and satisfaction with these songs and this period in their creativity.

“Putting only our name on it is a statement,” Blythe says. “This is LAMB OF GOD. Here and now.”

A true collaboration between all members of the band, LAMB OF GOD’s eighth studio album is an amalgam of each individual’s contributions, blended to create a singular style. Guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler fuel the album with a mountain of riffs, taking what the band are known for, and unbelievably, upping the ante to new levels. The rhythm section of John Campbell, looming large as a rhythmic shadow, and drummer Art Cruz, who makes his studio debut with LAMB OF GOD here on this record, underpin the proceedings with passion, sweat and expansive dynamics. Vocalist D. Randall Blythe is as angry, insightful, and informed as ever. Never one to shrink from facing the darker aspects of our nature head-on, Blythe delivers with no punches pulled, and as only he and the band can in 2020.

In celebration of the release of “Checkmate” and the announce of the new album, LAMB OF GOD will appear at a special show at the House of Vans in Chicago on February 14. The event is free and fans can RSVP beginning at 12 noon CST today at HouseOfVans.com The event will include a photography exhibit featuring photos from D. Randall Blythe that will be included in the new album artwork. Harm’s Way will open the show.

In the midst of writing the ten songs that appear on Lamb Of God, the group hit pause on the works-in-progress to man the stage as main support Slayer’s “The Final Campaign.” After months of playing their best-known songs nightly, LOG returned to the new tracks and began to work with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth, Gojira, Trivium). Special guests Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) and Chuck Billy (Testament) also make appearances on the new album.
