My Chemical Romance to Headline Riot Fest 2020

My Chemical Romance
To Headline Riot Fest 2020

Limited 3-Day Passes On Sale Now
Starting at $139.98

Riot Fest organizers announced today that the recently reunited My Chemical Romance will headline Riot Fest 2020. The three-day festival takes place September 11, 12 & 13 at Douglas Park in Chicago; 3-day passes are on sale now.

The news of My Chemical Romance’s reunion and subsequent comeback shows in Los Angeles was met with immense excitement from their legion of fans, many of whom never got a chance to see the band live during their initial 11-year run. Now, seven years after disbanding, fans both old and new will witness the band deliver an unforgettable performance at Riot Fest 2020—and starting today, fans can get a limited number of 3-day passes starting at $139.98 ahead of the full lineup, to be revealed Spring 2020.

My Chemical Romance initially announced their reunion on Halloween 2019 with a pair of shows at the Shrine Expo in Los Angeles, which took place at the end of December. Both shows sold out almost instantly and garnered critical acclaim from multiple journalists and publications; Rolling Stone wrote, “Though the 2010s saw dozens of emo band reunions bubble up and dissipate, it’s with this landmark concert that MCR ceases to be a nostalgic act, and proves its mettle as a timeless, rock & roll band for the ages.” Forbes similarly remarked, “Tonight was a celebration, an earned one, between fans who joyously welcomed back a band they thought they had lost forever and a group that oh-so-deserved this moment of being praised, of being feted for their legacy, for their impact and for being a generational act for fans discovering rock music in the 2000s.”

With their emo-punk songwriting, theatrical vocals, and neo-goth appearance, My Chemical Romance rose from the East Coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. Comprised of frontman Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way, and guitarists Ray Toro and Riot Fest alumni Frank Iero, the band captivated millions of fans with the its iconic imagery, stage presence, and best-known singles—including “Helena,” “I’m Not OK (I Promise),” “Teenagers,” and “Welcome to the Black Parade.”

THEORY – Say Nothing | Album Review

A video album review on Say Nothing, the seventh studio album from Canada’s Theory Of A Deadman (or THEORY).  This album is advertised as the scariest album the band has ever created.  Click below to watch.

Theory of a Deadman (abbreviated as Theory or TOAD) is a Canadian rock band from Delta, British Columbia. Formed in 2001, the band is currently signed to Roadrunner Records as well as 604 Records. The band also includes traits of other music styles, such as country and acoustic, as well as their post-grunge and alternative rock base. They have had eight top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, including three No. 1 hits, “Bad Girlfriend“, “Lowlife” and “Rx (Medicate)“.

Say Nothing is the upcoming seventh studio album by Canadian rock band Theory of a Deadman, due to be released on January 31, 2020, through 604 Records in Canada and Atlantic and Roadrunner Records in the United States. The record will tackle issues such as domestic violence and racism. The band opted to continue their collaboration with Swedish music producer Martin Terefe—who worked with them on their previous album Wake Up Call—returning to London in April 2019. Their prior album marked the group’s departure from their usual hard rock sound to a more pop- and pop rock-infused style and was met with mixed reviews from critics.

VISTA Announce New EP ‘The Repair’, Out February 14th

Electronic alt-rock trio VISTA have announced their new EP The Repair, out February 14th. This Friday, they will share the first single off the EP, “Dirty Laundry“. Fans can pre-order The Repair, now: http://bit.ly/2G8UDKA

Speaking to the new EP, the band said, “The Repair is the next piece of The Trilogy era, and revolves around repairing our ruins.” They continued, “On the first EP of this era, The Ruins, we went into depth about our personal ruins, including grief, escape, denial, and heartbreak. The Repair continues the evolution and delves into the process of fixing our broken parts.”

Although more than two years have passed since the release of VISTA’s 2017 sophomore EP Long Live, the New York-based electronic alt-rock outfit remained consistently active, having since completed five US tours, released four singles (including their highest-streamed song to date, “Witch Hunt“), shared the stage with Fearless Records’ Set It Off, and earned music video rotation in Journeys’ stores nationwide. The compelling trio, has elevated the word ‘independent’ to their own playing ground, racking up nearly 700,000 streams alone on Spotify.

The Trilogy era is a personal testament to VISTA’s evolution since their inception in late 2015. A distinct blend of active rock and cinematic pop, The Repair expands on the notable experimentation and haunting lyricism of their prior release, 2019’s The Ruins. The band’s signature dark, synth-laden production is still present, but it’s impossible to ignore their contagious hooks and elevated sense of self. With the upcoming release of The Repair and their upcoming The Trilogy tour, VISTA is hardly at a climax; they are poised for a revival.

VISTA is
Hope Vista (lead vocals),
Greg Almeida (guitarist),
Mikey G (drummer).

The video is inspired by the Mexican holiday “Día de Muertos,” a day of remembrance and celebration of loved ones who have passed, with which it shares the sentiment that as long as we keep their memories with us, a piece of them is still alive. Watch the music video for “Hold on to Memories” here.

The band previously shared their live video for “Hold on to Memories,” directed by Rafa Alcantara. The video captures a moment during Disturbed’s live show where the band perform alongside a video collage of their favorite memories, with photos and videos of their friends and families, both here and gone. Watch the live video for “Hold on to Memories” here.

Disturbed have continued their record-breaking streak at rock radio, claiming the title of “2019’s Most Played Artists” in the Active Rock format. The band earned their seventh consecutive #1 on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart and Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs Chart with their latest single “No More,” an achievement unmatched by any artist in history. Disturbed have earned ten #1 singles on the chart, including “A Reason To Fight,” the track that initially broke the record earlier this year. “No More” is the third top-charting single from the band’s #1 album, Evolution (Reprise Records).

About Disturbed:
Simply put, DISTURBED are one of the most successful rock bands in modern history. The multiplatinum-selling quartet accomplished the rare feat of achieving five consecutive number one debuts on the Billboard Top 200. That accolade historically elevated them to rarified air alongside Metallica, the only other hard rock group to do so in the history of the chart.  Immortalized (2015) received a platinum certification and spawned the triple-platinum crossover smash “The Sound of Silence,” which garnered a nomination at the 2017 GRAMMY® Awards in the category of “Best Rock Performance.” Since their formation in 1996, the band has sold 16 million albums globally and scored twelve No. 1 singles at Active Rock Radio. Their quadruple-platinum 2000 debut, The Sickness, formally announced their arrival as hard rock leaders, with that status solidified by subsequent GRAMMY® Award nominations as well as gold-, platinum- and double platinum-certified records, as well as countless sold-out shows around the globe.  Named “Best Rock Artist” during the 2017 iHeartRadioMusic Awards, Disturbed continue to boldly forge ahead with the release of their aptly titled seventh offering, Evolution.

About STAIND:
Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, Johnny April and Jon Wysocki formed Staind in 1995,in their hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. Over the course of their career, the band released seven studio albums and eight Top 10 singles, selling over 15 million albums worldwide. Break The Cycle, released in 2001 and RIAA certified 5x platinum, featured the smash single, “It’s Been A While,” one of the most played songs in modern rock radio history, spending 20 weeks at Number 1. Staind is currently comprised of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Sal Giancarelli. This year STAIND reunited for a few select dates, after a five-year hiatus.

About Bad Wolves:
Bad Wolves consists of vocalist Tommy Vext (ex-Divine Heresy), drummer John Boecklin (ex-Devil Driver), guitarist Doc Coyle (Vagus Nerve, ex-God Forbid), guitarist Chris Cain (Bury Your Dead) and bassist Kyle Konkiel (ex-In This Moment). They released their debut album, Disobey (May 2018), via Better Noise Music, which reached #22 on the Billboard Top 200, #2 on the Hard Rock Chart, #4 on Rock, and #8 on the Top Current Albums Chart. Their global breakout single, “Zombie,” is certified Platinum in the U.S. and Sweden, double Platinum in Canada, Gold in Australia and IMPALA Diamond in Europe. The track has topped-charts worldwide, including the U.S. iTunes Overall and Rock charts, Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart, while also reigning atop the Active Rock radio chart for three straight weeks. The album yielded the follow-up tracks “Hear Me Now,” featuring Diamante, and the soaring ballad “Remember When,” which both reached #1 at Active Rock Radio. The official music video for “Zombie,” a tribute to the late singer Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries and an homage to the original, has garnered over 255 million views across platforms. On June 19th, 2018, Bad Wolves presented a $250,000 check to Dolores O’Riordan’s four children, with a continued promise to donate all of their royalties from the song to them.  In 2019, they continued that momentum with their sophomore album, N.A.T.I.O.N. which came in at #1 upon its release on the Top Hard Rock, Current Hard Rock and Billboard Hard Rock charts. The single “Killing Me Slowly” recently hit #1 to make it 4 consecutive #1 songs for the band at Active Rock Radio.

RED DEATH Continue North American Tour with Enforced

“They’ve honed their craft and perfected their attack.” – Stereogum

Red Death are still as likely as ever to send you into the sort of seeing-blood haze that the best hardcore can induce.” – Stereogum

“It’s totally fun, well-executed thrash.” – Metal Sucks

“Vocally, Sickness Divine offers all the brutality fans of Hardcore could ask for while the guitars, bass, and drums provide all of the tools needed for quality Thrash Metal without sounding dated.” – Cryptic Rock

After receiving unanimous praise for their new album Sickness Divine, released November 29 through Century Media Records, the band continues their North American Expedition tour with Enforced, wrapping February 1 in Philadelphia. United by a love for Master Of Puppets– era MetallicaAnimosity-era Corrosion of ConformityDischarge and the best of 80’s thrash metal, RED DEATH was born out of a 2013 basement jam session between drummer Connor Donegan (also of Genocide Pact), guitarist Ace Mendoza and frontman Chad Troncale. RED DEATH became an underground favorite with the release of 2015’s Permanent Exile followed by US gigs and tours with the likes of Power Trip and Obituary. With 2017’s Formidable Darkness album and a line-up that saw Troncale assume bass and vocal duties as well as the addition of Enforced guitarist Will Wagstaff, RED DEATH proved themselves a force to be reckoned with as they blasted stages around the world.

THEORY Releases New Song “World Keeps Spinning”

Multi-platinum band THEORY (Theory Of A Deadman) has released “World Keeps Spinning,” the latest track off their forthcoming studio album, Say Nothing, out next Friday, January 31st via Atlantic Records. The evocative song written by lead vocalist Tyler Connolly is a profound autobiographical track about depression and anxiety. PRESS HERE to listen to “World Keeps Spinning,” which first premiered on MXDWN. On Say NothingTHEORY is speaking up through timely lyrical commentary that finds the band’s finger on the pulse of the current climate and the issues that our society is grappling with today, threaded together with a message that’s both a cautionary warning and a hopeful wish for our collective future.

“One of the most personal songs I’ve ever written, ‘World Keeps Spinning’ discusses the battle with depression and anxiety, and the constant struggle between feeling great and feeling like ‘what’s the point,'” shares Connolly. “This is a song a lot of people are going to relate to.”

Say Nothing is available for pre-order at all DSPs and each pre-order includes instant downloads of previously released tracks “History of Violence,” “Say Nothing,” “Strangers,” and “World Keeps Spinning.”PRESS HERE to pre-order Say Nothing; album and bundle packages are also available at the official THEORY webstore.

The album’s lead single “History of Violence,” which has already racked up more than 4 million collective streams and is currently #4 at Active Rock Radio, is a powerful song that turns the tables on a story of domestic violence. PRESS HERE to watch the gripping video, illustrating a searing snapshot of a woman enduring an abusive husband as she plans to fight back, eventually ending up in jail but free of her abuser. THEORY has been encouraging anyone affected by domestic abuse to call the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) for help. For their upcoming U.S. tour, THEORY has also partnered with PLUS1 to donate $1 from every ticket sold to organizations dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence and building a community free of abuse.

Peeling back the layers of THEORY‘s depth and breadth like never before, Say Nothing, recorded in London with producer Martin Terefe [Jason Mraz, Yungblud], is a continuation of their musical and thematic evolution, displaying the band’s powerful storytelling in full force and introducing fresh sounds and sonics. With undeniable anthems, scorching songcraft, experimental vision, rock ‘n’ roll attitude, and clever pop ambition, THEORY explores domestic violence, racism, the divisiveness in American politics, anxiety and depression, and more on the 10-track album, the band’s seventh studio album. Title track Say Nothing is a stark, emotional song about a communication breakdown in a relationship that ultimately leads to its demise. Addressing the current tense state of American politics and the divisive nature of our culture, Strangers strikes a chord with its thought-provoking prose, calling out how nasty it has become between those with differing political affiliations and our society’s increasing inability to openly listen and relate to one another.
