LORNA SHORE’s new album, “Immortal,” out today, is nothing short of a shock of blackened, symphonic ambitions and epic intents that has been hailed as “dynamic,” “deftly melodic” and some of the band’s best work to date.
To celebrate the band has released their latest video for the track “King Ov Deception.” Watch here:
Austin Archey (drums) comments: “To celebrate the release day of ‘Immortal,’ we have for you the official music video for ‘King Ov Deception.’ The video was shot in late 2019 by our long time collaborator Joey Durango. He worked hard to make us a beautiful visual for this song, and we hope you enjoy it.”
After touring North America with Fit for an Autopsy, Rivers of Nihil, The Last Ten Seconds of Life and Dyscarnate LORNA SHORE will embark on a European tour shortly after the release of the album.

Elder, the “masters of … epic-scale rock composition” (Rolling Stone) and “one of the most restless and inventive forces at work in the…underground,” (Stereogum), have set an April 24 release date for one of the year’s most eagerly-awaited rock releases: Omens (Armageddon Shop).
“To me, Omens is our most complete work to date: a set of songs that express the breadth of the band’s collective influences,” explains singer/guitar player Nick DiSalvo. “After recording The Gold & Silver Sessions EP, it felt like we fully scratched the itch to explore our minimalist side, taking a step back from the proggy song structures and heavy guitar work of our previous records and just letting the music drift along. When beginning to work on Omens, the goal was to integrate these two tendencies in the band – to make a modern day progressive rock record, but also to take time to jam and float when need be. Most importantly, I feel the spirit of adventure in our music is alive and well, and we missed no opportunity to bring in a whole new arsenal of sounds to the record.”
The five song, 54-minute album is a concept album that mimics the lifespan of a civilization, and also reads as a commentary on our own society hell-bent on profitability at the expense of our own lives and environment. Omens was produced by Peter Deimel (Anna Calvi, The Kills, The Wedding Present) and recorded at Studio Black Box in Noyant-La-Gravoyêre, France. Deimel and DiSalvo mixed the collection.

The time has arrived for legendary bay area thrash metal giants TESTAMENT to unleash new thunder to the masses and reveal their thirteenth studio album, Titans Of Creation, which will be released on April 3 via Nuclear Blast.
Today, the band releases the lyric video for the first single, “Night Of The Witch” here:
Chuck Billycomments, “It has been months since the final mixing of ‘Titans Of Creation’ and we are eager for fans to hear it. We feel that we put a lot into this record and at the end of the day it is a TESTAMENT record that stands on its own. We are very proud of ‘Titans Of Creation.’”
“’Night Of The Witch’ uses old school lyrics about witches chanting in the moonlight and casting spells. The beauty of this song is that I worked Eric’s vocals into the chorus. I wanted to incorporate him as he does Dragonlord and this song was a perfect match. It is a heavy song and a great way to introduce everyone to ‘Titans Of Creation.’”
Titans Of Creation was produced by Chuck Billy and Eric Peterson while Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios handled co-producing, recording and engineering. Andy Sneap was responsible for the mixing and mastering of the album. Eliran Kantor stepped up once again to create a new masterpiece of artwork for the cover of this release.

Just as the elements of this planet thrive within all living creatures, each musician in TESTAMENT represents a necessary component of this latest musical creation. Still filled with a massive and unstoppable energy since their last release, TESTAMENT has taken their style to the next level and present an album that is loyal to the roots of traditional thrash metal while still including the alluring, brilliant and progressive ingredients they are known for.
SHVPES have released the video for the new song “HOT HEAD.”
Witness the band perform “Hot Head” under, let’s say, compromising conditions here:
“You never know what’s going on with someone behind the scenes, as people can be going through a lot and appear to be absolutely fine,” says SHVPES frontman Griffin Dickinson. “When shit gets ugly, it can affect the way you see the world and that can manifest itself in ugly, negative traits. This song is reflecting on those traits and the knock on affect it can have on the people around you. Musically, it’s a big step into a more solidified direction for our band. We’ve always had an eclectic approach to writing music. But with ‘Hot Head,’ I think we’ve really found our own lane.”
Shvpes latest album Greater Than is available now via Search & Destroy/Spinefarm Records. Get it here.
U.S. fans can catch SHVPES at ShipRocked Festival 2020 — a 5-day, rock-fueled cruise between New Orleans and Mexico.

Since forming in 1996, Boston’s Dropkick Murphys have sold a staggering 7 million albums worldwide. Recently, Dropkick Murphys‘ song “Rose Tattoo”–from their Signed and Sealed in Blood album–was recently chosen by Loudwire as one of the “Top 66 Best Of The Decade Rock Songs,” appearing at #21 on the list.
Dropkick Murphys–Al Barr (lead vocals), Tim Brennan (guitars, accordion, mellotron, whistles, vocals), Ken Casey (lead vocals, bass guitar), Jeff DaRosa (banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonica, acoustic guitars, vocals), Matt Kelly (drums, percussion, vocals), James Lynch (guitar, vocals), Kevin Rheault (touring bassist), Lee Forshner (touring bagpipe player)–continue to tour in support of their 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory album (released through the band’s own Born & Bred Records in 2017), which debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 and was the #1 independently released album.
Have you ever been to a show and immediately thought – ‘damn, I wish I’d also been here the first night’? Those were my thoughts of near-instantaneous regret when I realized, standing in the photo bit for Heilung‘s second NYC “ritual,” that this was not going to be like every other concert that’s come before.
With core members hailing from Germany, Denmark and Norway, Heilung can be described as experimental neo-pagan folk, but that’s where the simple descriptions stop. Heilung is more than just a Nordic metal band, they are, for all intents and purposes, a fully immersive experience. Self-described as “amplified history,” Heilung evokes sounds and energies from Bronze, Iron and Viking Ages with the use of historically accurate dress, instruments and lyrics.
Overall, the band is stunning. Heilung has crafted their performance into something completely absorbing – ritualistic sure, but also intense, immersive and judging by the reaction of many fans packing Webster Hall to capacity on Wednesday night, emotional. The vocals are haunting, the shamanic drums elevating, the battle cries liberating. And true to their name (heilung means healing in German), I could hear numerous fans exhale in relief and comment how the night had been a needed release.
Given the success of this short, but incredibly sweet, first run through the US, I can only hope that Heilung return to our shores in the near future.
In the meanwhile, check out some photos from Wednesday night’s show below. And scroll further down to see Heilung’s 2017 full performance Lifa on their YT channel.

The Amity Affliction Premiere New Song “Catatonia”
New Album Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them Arrives February 21, 2020.
ARIA-certified Australian metalcore trailblazers THE AMITY AFFLICTION have teamed up with Loudwire to premiere the new song “Catatonia.” Listen here.
“If you listen carefully, you’ll hear this is a sister track to ‘All My Friends Are Dead,'” says vocalist/ bassist Ahren Stringer. “We wrote it to bookend the album and keep it heavy fuckin’ metal. Lyrically, I think it ties the whole theme of the album together and wraps up what Joel [Birch] is trying to get across. Even though everything might seem perfect from the outside, sometimes being broken on the inside can never truly be fixed.”
The song lives on the band’s upcoming album Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them. The album arrives February 21 and will be the band’s Pure Noise Records debut. It’s available for pre-order here.
The Amity Affliction — Joel Birch [vocals], Ahren Stringer [vocals, bass], Dan Brown [lead guitar], and Jon Longobardi [drums] — previously released the video for “Soak Me In Bleach.” Watch it here.
“This album is a result of our re-found love for heavy music,” The Amity Affliction said upon announcing the record. “We wanted to make a heavier album to back up our most recent releases to let our fans know that we understand what the majority want to hear from us. We have experimented creatively over the years and are now able to apply what we’ve learned to what we consider the perfect blend of Amity new and old.”

In celebration of the band’s return in December, the USC Marching Band performed “Welcome To The Black Parade” outside of the Shrine Expo Hall show HERE.
Formed in Newark, NJ, My Chemical Romance made its debut in 2002 with the independently released album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. The band signed to Reprise Records the following year and made its major label debut with 2004’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, now 3x certified Platinum. The album contained the Platinum hit “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” the Gold-certified “Helena,” and “The Ghost of You.” Rolling Stone hailed their third studio album, The Black Parade (3x Platinum) as one of the top albums of 2006. Lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” topped both Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart and the UK’s Official Singles chart and is now 3x Platinum. The band toured extensively behind the album – appearing as characters from The Black Parade – and released the live album The Black Parade is Dead! in 2008. Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys was released in 2010 and topped Billboard’s Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It was followed by a series of singles which as a whole made up the Conventional Weapons release in 2013. My Chemical Romance’s songs continue to rack up half a billion global streams each year.
