Apocalyptica + Sabaton’s Joakim Brodén Release New Single

Apocalyptica Debuts New Song/Video
“Live Or Die” ft. Joakim Brodén

Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers Apocalyptica release their brand-new track and music video, “Live Or Die (featuring Joakim Brodén)” (Silver Lining Music).  The song, which boasts what is certainly one of the most dynamic liaisons in heavy metal – the spellbinding music of Apocalyptica and the potent, iconic vocals of Sabaton’s Joakim Brodén – is a fierce battle cry focused on the desecration of our planet.  “Live Or Die” was composed by Apocalyptica and recorded in Finland with Apocalyptica and Martin Hansen (Scorpions) producing.   The video, directed by Ville Juurikkala and filmed in Berlin, Germany on January 25, is a fiery performance piece that features Brodén on vocals.  You can check out the music video HERE;  the track, which will be available exclusively in digital form, can be accessed HERE.

Apocalyptica and Sabaton have a new but notable history of collaboration.  Most recently, the two bands recorded a version of the 2010 Sabaton track  “Angels Calling,” released in November 2019, with a companion music video. In addition, Apocalyptica was Special Guest on Sabaton’s just-concluded, critically-acclaimed, SRO, 15-country European tour, that included Apocalyptica joining Sabaton onstage every night for a half dozen songs.  As one UK reviewer wrote, “The chemistry between the two bands was absolutely incredible.  Apocalyptica were throwing around their cellos just as hard as Sabaton were throwing around their guitars.”

In support of its current studio album release, the all-instrumental Cell-0, (Silver Lining Music), Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén – will kick off the first leg of its 2020 North American tour on May 3 in Orlando, FL.  The band will bring its moving and bombastic live performances to 20 cities over a three-week period wrapping up on May 26 in Boston, MA. With a setlist that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica’s performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band’s rich catalog.  Lacuna Coil will support on all North American dates.  Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.

ENTER SHIKARI Debuts “{ The Dreamer’s Hotel }” Video

Enter Shikari Share Video For
{ THE DREAMERS HOTEL }

New Album
Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible
Released April 17th, 2020

Following the announcement of their sixth album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible, released April 17, 2020ENTER SHIKARI have shared the video to first single “{ The Dreamer’s Hotel }” which was Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In the World on February 10th.

“{ The Dreamers Hotel }” video was shot in Paris in February 2020 and directed by visual artist Polygon (Tame Impala, Bring Me The Horizon), who also directed Enter Shikari’s previous single “Stop The Clocks.”

“We took another wonderful trip to Paris once again to record a video with our friend Polygon. We built minimal hotel sets and used psychedelic analogue effects to create a space that reflects the hope but also the desolation of the song.” (Rou Reynolds)

Today, the band also announced additional intimate live shows, in Moscow, Russia and New York City as part of their run of special album launch shows in April, which includes Hamburg, Germany and Paris, France, both selling out within hours of going on sale. Mercury Lounge (217 East Houston St., NYC) will be the location for their show on May 12th.

Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible is produced to dazzling effect by renowned frontman and visionary Rou Reynolds from a band at the peak of their creative output with a unique story, underlining their 13-year succession as a pioneering and uncompromising musical force. This is an album about possibility, the unnerving irony of endless possibility, the band asking themselves what they can achieve as the world questions “what is possible?”.

Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible is a lucid soundtrack for a new decade, with a poignant social commentary that expertly leads the listener from pure pop to scorching punk-rock fury, through four-to-the-floor beats and beautiful orchestral composition. “Waltzing Off The Face Of The Earth” (I. Crescendo) and (II. Plangevole) draws you into the madness of modern life, “you can’t trust your own eyes, and you only hear lies, our future’s been denied and there’s nowhere to hide now that nothing is true and everything is possible.” “Elegy For Extinction” is a classical gem recorded in Prague with the City Of Prague Symphony Orchestra and arranged by renowned film and television soundtrack composer George Fenton (Gandhi, Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Groundhog Day, My Name Is Joe), and the first single “{ The Dreamers Hotel }”  a lavishly produced anthem.

The last decade has seen Enter Shikari increase their stature year on year, a rare career story which has taken them to four Top 10 albums in the UK, millions of streams, huge sellout world tours (most recently in Russia and two American), as well as multiple awards: last year crowned Best British Band by Rocksound, with Best Album from Kerrang! for The Spark at 2018’s Awards.

ALESTORM to Release Sixth Studio Album, “Curse Of The Crystal Coconut”

Ready or not, you filthy landlubbers – ALESTORM are back with another classic – an uncensored, satirical and glorious new album that only they could imagine! Two years after the release of their latest album, No Grave But The Sea, the pirate metal drinking crew will return with their raucous new conquestCurse Of The Crystal Coconut, to be released on May 29, 2020 via Napalm Records.

Beloved worldwide for their infectiously wild personas and even crazier, unabashedly catchy tunes, the ALESTORM crew – led by courageous Captain Christopher Bowes – is proud to present eleven bombastic pirate anthems in their signature unadulterated, chaotic fashion.
Breaking from the stereotypical portrayal of pirates as the lone wolves of the sea, on Curse of the Crystal CoconutALESTORM will be joined by Ally Storch of Subway to Sally (violin on the entire album) and Captain Yarrface of Rumahoy – amongst others! The variety of tracks featured on the album will satisfy even the pickiest adventure-seeker and become an instant soundtrack for the wildest pirate parties out there. “Chomp Chomp”, featuring the vocals of Vreth of Finntroll, may make you never want to enter the open waters again, but will definitely invite you to dance along to ravishing melodies. The catchy rhythm of “Pirate Metal Drinking Crew” makes the track yet another foot-stomping anthem in the assortment of these treasure-searching marauders. However, don’t take their rage too lightheartedly, as once they unleash the “Pirate’s Scorn” and its brutal riffs, there may be no coming back…

Of course, it wouldn’t be an ALESTORM album without their unique sense of humor – this, and much more, can be found on the party-smashing “Treasure Chest Party Quest” or the surprising “Zombies Ate My Party Ship”. Although the Curse of the Crystal Coconut may remain a mystery for now, one thing is for sure – it will make you throw all conventionalities aside and join this rowdy pirate crew on their most fierce and grim journey so far!

Dirty Honey Announces First-Ever Int’l Tour Dates

With a #1 debut single, a new track currently a top ten hit at rock radio in the United States and Canada, nearly 19-million total streams, and a just-completed, six-week SRO tour of the U.S., Dirty Honey, one of the hottest, new rock bands on the scene today, will head to the U.K. and Europe for its first-ever international concert tour.  The three-week trek kicks off June 5 and will combine appearances at legendary European rock festivals including Germany’s Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring, support dates with Alter Bridge and with Bush, and a handful of headline club shows.  With more dates to be announced, the confirmed itinerary is below.  For complete details regarding on-sale dates, ticket purchasing, and VIP packages, log on to https://www.dirtyhoney.com

“We are all so excited about this tour,” said Dirty Honey’s frontman Marc LaBelle.  “We’ve heard from so many musicians that fans in the UK, Europe and Australia have such a thirst for rock’n’roll, like nowhere else in the world, that they’re just the greatest audiences, and we can’t wait to experience that for ourselves.  We are all looking forward to playing shows in these cities that have so much rock’n’roll history.”

Before Dirty Honey heads off to the UK and Europe, the band is set to meet up with producer Nick DiDia (Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Dirty Honey’s debut EP) at his Byron Bay studio in Australia to record new music for release later this year.  While in Australia, the band will make its “down under debut” performing at the Byron Bay Bluesfest.  Also on the band’s Spring itinerary are North American headline shows, several rock radio station-sponsored concerts, appearances at major music festivals including Sonic Temple, Rocklahoma, and the Beale Street Music Festival.

While Dirty Honey has yet to step foot outside of North America, fans have been discovering the band all on their own in places from the UK to South America, despite the fact that Dirty Honey has no affiliation with any record company, so no label promotion.  The Features Editor at the UK’s Classic Rock magazine first heard Dirty Honey’s debut single, “When I’m Gone,” when it was played as the theme song at a WWE event last July.  The next day, that editor introduced British music fans to the band by naming the song a “Track of the Week” on Classic Rock‘s website;  in the current issue of the print magazine, Dirty Honey is the subject of the monthly “High Hopes” full-page feature.  In South America, “When I’m Gone” is currently the #1 track at Bogota, Colombia’s 97.9FM Activa Radio.  Word is, someone at the station read about the band in Billboard, found the song on Spotify, loved it and programmed it.  And, based solely on the astounding listener reaction, it’s now the station’s #1 song.

Dirty Honey – Marc LaBelle/vocals, John Notto/guitars, Justin Smolian bass, and Corey Coverstone/drums – kicked off 2020 with a Best New Alt/Artist nomination for the upcoming 2020 iHeart Radio Music Awards, being named on Revolver’s Fan Poll as one of the “5 Bands Likely to Break Out in 2020,” was recognized as Canadian rock radio’s #1 International Breakout Artist for 2019, and has accumulated nearly 19-million total streams.  Not bad for a developing – and still unsigned – rock band.

Filmed during a late summer night at Castlefest 2017 in The Netherlands, ‘Lifa – Heilung Live at Castlefest’ captures HEILUNG‘s legendary debut performance. This will be the first time that the mesmerizing footage is available worldwide as a stand-alone audio/visual (Blu-ray) piece. ‘Lifa’ lays bare the power and majesty of the enigmatic Danish trio’s deep and enchanting live ritual for all to experience.

The Blu-ray will be released on April 24 via Season of Mist and can be pre-ordered HERE.

This was not the first time HEILUNG‘s music has been featured in a commercial, as “Krigsgaldr” was featured in a 2018 commercial for the Adidas x Alexander Wang collaboration. Watch the commercial HERE!

‘Futha’ was released on June 28 and can be streamed HERE and ordered HERE.

Speaking about ‘Futha,’ BILLBOARD wrote, “Tracks like ‘Norupo,’ which is led by female vocals, is beautiful and melodic, and the choir and tribal percussive background of ‘Othan’ is trance-like.” You can read the full feature, which includes an interview with HEILUNG‘s Kai Uwe Faust, HERE.

Kakaty and co have been hard at work in Los Angeles this winter, putting the finishing touches on the yet to be titled new L.P. due later this year. The band has teamed up with a team of producers and are eager to release new music. The latest effort will be the anticipated follow up to their S/T album that came out in 2018 to some high critical praise with outlets like LOUDWIRE saying, “their self-titled effort continues that delivers a solid top-to-bottom listen.”

S/T featured standout tracks like “Waking Lions,” & “Be Legendary” which both landed on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Song Of The Year Charts for 2018 & 2019.

Kakaty continues, “We have been grinding away, narrowing down 30 written songs to the top picks… We are in the final stretch of making music. We have a few completely finished! We have been working with multiple producers that fit each song’s dynamic, and we can’t wait to unleash these new songs to the world.”

Diet Cig Announce Sophomore Album & Share New Single “Thriving”

They’ve been compared to tornadoes, firecrackers, and lightning storms, and described as genuine, unapologetic, and down-to-earth. And today Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman of gutsy rock duo Diet Cig are excited to announce the forthcoming release their sophomore full-length, Do You Wonder About Me? on May 1 via Frenchkiss Records. They are also happy to share the newest single off the LP, lead track “Thriving,” and note, “Thriving” is a cathartic, campy release of feelings. Its about the duality of absolutely THRIVING without someone but also desperately wanting them to notice you doing so. Inspired by the melodrama of reality TV and musical theater, we wanted the song to bounce back and forth between a lavish personal anthem and the anguish of feeling forever beholden to others opinions.”

Pre-order Do You Wonder About Me? here.

“Thriving” is the follow up to last month’s “Night Terrors” which was included on NPR’s “All Songs” broadcast week of release. Stereogum proclaimed it “quite a comeback” further noting, “the real powerhouse of this track is the drums, which launch the atmosphere headlong into weightlessness…meek vulnerability in the daintiness and girlishness of the vocals add an irresistible sweetness.” Uproxx included the song in their “best of the week” and said “with their signature powerful guitar chords and crashing cymbals, ‘Night Terrors’ gives fans a look into the band’s new era.”

Diet Cig’s live shows are a whirlwind of belting and high-kicks, their pure energy as yet unmatched. The band have confirmed their first set of North American and UK dates in support of the new album and the first U.S. show is on May 14 in Philadelphia. The band will also play Brooklyn and Chicago before the run concludes in Charlottesville, VA on June 6. They have just confirmed a new set of dates in October that kick off October 3 in Pittsburgh, PA ending in Los Angeles, CA on October 22. Tickets for the newly announced shows will go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10am local time. All dates are listed below.

Do You Wonder About Me? Is the follow-up to 2017’s Swear I’m Good At This. The new record marks a more intentional, self-assured Diet Cig; not only in Luciano’s radically intimate, acerbic lyrics, but in the duo’s sound as well. Luciano and Bowman moved to Richmond, VA in the summer of 2017 as a place to “hide out and make music,” and it was there that they wrote Do You Wonder About Me?, Diet Cig’s ode to growing up.

“We spent a lot of time after the first record growing as people, being humans outside of tour for a little bit, and trying to shed the imposter syndrome.” Luciano says. Spending the time to make the kind of music they really wanted to make and making sure they felt good about it was crucial to the success of tracks like “Night Terrors.” It’s a slower-paced song than Diet Cig’s usual, but just as biting; a song about reckoning with all the past versions of yourself. As Luciano puts it, “Am I still these people, or have I shapeshifted?” It’s essentially the thesis of Do You Wonder About Me?, considering and accepting the embarrassing aspects of your identity, and how they’re just as much a part of you as the good stuff.

“When we made our first record we almost felt like we had something to prove,” Luciano says. Much of it was written on tour—the kinks in the songs worked out by playing them live. But the writing and recording of Do You Wonder About Me? was imbued with more freedom. Diet Cig had the sense that they could make whatever they wanted. Luciano and Bowman, instead of practicing live to an audience, worked on their songs over the course of a year in their practice space, and ended up finishing tracks with their longtime producer Chris Daly at Headroom Studios in Philadelphia, PA, and back in New Paltz, NY at Salvation Recording. Instead of making sure they’d fit their live show, Diet Cig tinkered with songs until they felt right to them. As a result, Do You Wonder has a freshness, a gleaming new direction. Fewer boundaries. More truth, more honesty.

Anti-Flag Add New Dates + Partner With Organizations On Spring Tour

Anti-Flag Add New Dates
To Spring 2020 North American Tour

Partnering With Amnesty International USA,
Punk Rock Saves Lives, and Headcount

Hot on the heels of the release of their latest album, 20/20 Vision, political punk icons Anti-Flag are set to return to the road in North America beginning March 11 in Ottawa, ON. The tour runs through May 30 in Seattle and includes the band’s ANTIfest on March 28 in their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. ANTIfest is the band’s very own festival they have hosted in various locations — mainly in Europe and UK — since 2012.

In addition to the previously announced tour dates, the band today announced a stop in Phoenix, Arizona on May 15 at The Rebel Lounge. The band has also added three additional California shows. They are as follows: 5/16 Los Angeles, CA at Echoplex; 5/17 San Diego, CA at Casbah; and 5/19 Santa Ana, CA at Constellation Room.

Once again Anti-Flag are partnering with three organizations that share the band’s values and ethos. They are teaming up with Punk Rock Saves Lives, Amnesty International USA, and HeadCount on the tour.

“With every tour we do, we’re searching for creative ways to inject empathy into the show,” the band says about its latest initiatives. “These organizations are fantastic opportunities to share simple ideas, create tangible victories and spread empathy. The social, economic, racial, and environmental justice we all seek is within our reach. The future we wish to see contains the work we all put in now. We hope these shows serve as rallying points for people to recognize in 2020 you’’re not alone, in a world where the status quo is violent, bigoted, and predicated upon fear…. to be kind is a radical notion and punk as fuck.”

Punk Rock Saves Lives will be promoting an important petition that looks to lower the price of insulin at the shows. The organization will also be running a canned food drive at every show,” the band explains.

Anti-Flag furthers, “Amnesty International USA, as always, will be doing the real mobilization and advocacy work to demand that basic human rights be respected. Their work is tireless and their commitment to human rights is unparalleled. It is an honor to have their teams of local activists and human rights advocates out on these shows.”

HeadCount will have information on voter registration, voting rights, important dates and more,” the band shares. “As we’’ve seen with the 2016 presidential election, the winning of these positions of power carries real weight. We feel it is tremendously important for people to educate themselves on their local and national political policies and carry the empathy of shows and the punk rock community into the voting booth with them,” the band explains. Fans can text “Voter AF” to 40649 to register to vote and sign up for election alerts.

For over two decades, Anti-Flag have been at the forefront of socially conscious punk rock, tirelessly releasing music, touring, organizing, and introducing generations of fans to progressivism through fiery protest songs. With 20/20 Vision, the Pittsburgh, PA based band prove that they have plenty of vitriol left, aiming to face the challenges of our chaotic sociopolitical times head on. The band pull no punches lyrically, immediately drawing a line in the sand against the fascistic hate mongering of the Trump administration and making it clear that 20/20 Vision is an album intended to explicitly address the here and now.
