HEILUNG Announce Headline Show at Red Rocks Amphitheater

Following an extremely successful first ever tour of North America, in which every venue sold out, enigmatic pagan collective HEILUNG are returning to the states for one spectacular evening! The Danish formation will be bringing their mesmerizing ritual to the historic, century-old Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO on October 6. Ticket pre-sales will start on Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00 A.M. MST. General on-sale will start on Friday, March 6 at 10:00 A.M. MST. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

HEILUNG will be supporting their 2019 release, ‘Futha,’ which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Heatseeker charts and #4 on the Billboard World Music Charts, placing on a total of seven Billboard charts within the first week of its release.

Moreover, HEILUNG has recently announced the standalone Blu-Ry for their ‘Lifa’  live film. Filmed during a late summer night at Castlefest 2017 in The Netherlands, ‘Lifa – Heilung Live at Castlefest’ captures HEILUNG‘s legendary debut performance. This will be the first time that the mesmerizing footage is available worldwide as a stand-alone audio/visual (Blu-ray) piece. ‘Lifa’ lays bare the power and majesty of the enigmatic Danish trio’s deep and enchanting live ritual for all to experience.

The Blu-ray will be released on April 24 via Season of Mist and can be pre-ordered HERE.

The digital stream of ‘Lifa,’ which has over 4 Million views to date, can be seen below. Earlier this year, HEILUNG brought their mesmerizing live ritual to states and Canada for the first time ever, which sold out every venue within 72 hours of announcing.

During this year’s Game Awards, HEILUNG announced that they will be working with U.K.-based gaming company Ninja Theory on the soundtrack for their upcoming game, ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.’ The announcement trailer for the new game features HEILUNG‘s song ‘In Maidjan,’ which is taken from their debut album, ‘Ofnir.’ Watch the trailer HERE.

Speaking of the collaboration, HEILUNG comment, “It is with the uttermost joy and deepest respect that we can finally reveal: Heilung is collaborating with Ninja Theory on the soundtrack for ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.’  From the very first meeting with co-founder & Chief Creative Ninja Tameem, Commercial Director Dominic, and Audio Lead David, we discovered that although we work on very different platforms, the core is very much alike.  Both Heilung and Hellblade are deeply inspired by nature and history, and aim to alter your state of mind.  We are looking very much forward to present this hybrid child, born from a meeting between ancient spirits and the technology of tomorrow.”

This was not the first time HEILUNG‘s music has been featured in a commercial, as “Krigsgaldr” was featured in a 2018 commercial for the Adidas x Alexander Wang collaboration. Watch the commercial HERE!

‘Futha’ was released on June 28 and can be streamed HERE and ordered HERE.

Speaking about ‘Futha,’ BILLBOARD wrote, “Tracks like ‘Norupo,’ which is led by female vocals, is beautiful and melodic, and the choir and tribal percussive background of ‘Othan’ is trance-like.” You can read the full feature, which includes an interview with HEILUNG‘s Kai Uwe Faust, HERE.

The band has teamed up with a team of producers and are eager to release new music. S/T featured standout tracks like “Waking Lions,” & “Be Legendary” which both landed on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock Song Of The Year Charts for 2018 & 2019.

Kakaty continues, “We have been grinding away, narrowing down 30 written songs to the top picks… We are in the final stretch of making music. We have a few completely finished! We have been working with multiple producers that fit each song’s dynamic, and we can’t wait to unleash these new songs to the world.”

Diet Cig Announce Sophomore Album & Share New Single “Thriving”

They’ve been compared to tornadoes, firecrackers, and lightning storms, and described as genuine, unapologetic, and down-to-earth. And today Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman of gutsy rock duo Diet Cig are excited to announce the forthcoming release their sophomore full-length, Do You Wonder About Me? on May 1 via Frenchkiss Records. They are also happy to share the newest single off the LP, lead track “Thriving,” and note, “Thriving” is a cathartic, campy release of feelings. Its about the duality of absolutely THRIVING without someone but also desperately wanting them to notice you doing so. Inspired by the melodrama of reality TV and musical theater, we wanted the song to bounce back and forth between a lavish personal anthem and the anguish of feeling forever beholden to others opinions.”

Pre-order Do You Wonder About Me? here.

“Thriving” is the follow up to last month’s “Night Terrors” which was included on NPR’s “All Songs” broadcast week of release. Stereogum proclaimed it “quite a comeback” further noting, “the real powerhouse of this track is the drums, which launch the atmosphere headlong into weightlessness…meek vulnerability in the daintiness and girlishness of the vocals add an irresistible sweetness.” Uproxx included the song in their “best of the week” and said “with their signature powerful guitar chords and crashing cymbals, ‘Night Terrors’ gives fans a look into the band’s new era.”

Diet Cig’s live shows are a whirlwind of belting and high-kicks, their pure energy as yet unmatched. The band have confirmed their first set of North American and UK dates in support of the new album and the first U.S. show is on May 14 in Philadelphia. The band will also play Brooklyn and Chicago before the run concludes in Charlottesville, VA on June 6. They have just confirmed a new set of dates in October that kick off October 3 in Pittsburgh, PA ending in Los Angeles, CA on October 22. Tickets for the newly announced shows will go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10am local time. All dates are listed below.

Do You Wonder About Me? Is the follow-up to 2017’s Swear I’m Good At This. The new record marks a more intentional, self-assured Diet Cig; not only in Luciano’s radically intimate, acerbic lyrics, but in the duo’s sound as well. Luciano and Bowman moved to Richmond, VA in the summer of 2017 as a place to “hide out and make music,” and it was there that they wrote Do You Wonder About Me?, Diet Cig’s ode to growing up.

“We spent a lot of time after the first record growing as people, being humans outside of tour for a little bit, and trying to shed the imposter syndrome.” Luciano says. Spending the time to make the kind of music they really wanted to make and making sure they felt good about it was crucial to the success of tracks like “Night Terrors.” It’s a slower-paced song than Diet Cig’s usual, but just as biting; a song about reckoning with all the past versions of yourself. As Luciano puts it, “Am I still these people, or have I shapeshifted?” It’s essentially the thesis of Do You Wonder About Me?, considering and accepting the embarrassing aspects of your identity, and how they’re just as much a part of you as the good stuff.

“When we made our first record we almost felt like we had something to prove,” Luciano says. Much of it was written on tour—the kinks in the songs worked out by playing them live. But the writing and recording of Do You Wonder About Me? was imbued with more freedom. Diet Cig had the sense that they could make whatever they wanted. Luciano and Bowman, instead of practicing live to an audience, worked on their songs over the course of a year in their practice space, and ended up finishing tracks with their longtime producer Chris Daly at Headroom Studios in Philadelphia, PA, and back in New Paltz, NY at Salvation Recording. Instead of making sure they’d fit their live show, Diet Cig tinkered with songs until they felt right to them. As a result, Do You Wonder has a freshness, a gleaming new direction. Fewer boundaries. More truth, more honesty.

Anti-Flag Add New Dates + Partner With Organizations On Spring Tour

Anti-Flag Add New Dates
To Spring 2020 North American Tour

Partnering With Amnesty International USA,
Punk Rock Saves Lives, and Headcount

Hot on the heels of the release of their latest album, 20/20 Vision, political punk icons Anti-Flag are set to return to the road in North America beginning March 11 in Ottawa, ON. The tour runs through May 30 in Seattle and includes the band’s ANTIfest on March 28 in their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. ANTIfest is the band’s very own festival they have hosted in various locations — mainly in Europe and UK — since 2012.

In addition to the previously announced tour dates, the band today announced a stop in Phoenix, Arizona on May 15 at The Rebel Lounge. The band has also added three additional California shows. They are as follows: 5/16 Los Angeles, CA at Echoplex; 5/17 San Diego, CA at Casbah; and 5/19 Santa Ana, CA at Constellation Room.

Once again Anti-Flag are partnering with three organizations that share the band’s values and ethos. They are teaming up with Punk Rock Saves Lives, Amnesty International USA, and HeadCount on the tour.

“With every tour we do, we’re searching for creative ways to inject empathy into the show,” the band says about its latest initiatives. “These organizations are fantastic opportunities to share simple ideas, create tangible victories and spread empathy. The social, economic, racial, and environmental justice we all seek is within our reach. The future we wish to see contains the work we all put in now. We hope these shows serve as rallying points for people to recognize in 2020 you’’re not alone, in a world where the status quo is violent, bigoted, and predicated upon fear…. to be kind is a radical notion and punk as fuck.”

Punk Rock Saves Lives will be promoting an important petition that looks to lower the price of insulin at the shows. The organization will also be running a canned food drive at every show,” the band explains.

Anti-Flag furthers, “Amnesty International USA, as always, will be doing the real mobilization and advocacy work to demand that basic human rights be respected. Their work is tireless and their commitment to human rights is unparalleled. It is an honor to have their teams of local activists and human rights advocates out on these shows.”

HeadCount will have information on voter registration, voting rights, important dates and more,” the band shares. “As we’’ve seen with the 2016 presidential election, the winning of these positions of power carries real weight. We feel it is tremendously important for people to educate themselves on their local and national political policies and carry the empathy of shows and the punk rock community into the voting booth with them,” the band explains. Fans can text “Voter AF” to 40649 to register to vote and sign up for election alerts.

For over two decades, Anti-Flag have been at the forefront of socially conscious punk rock, tirelessly releasing music, touring, organizing, and introducing generations of fans to progressivism through fiery protest songs. With 20/20 Vision, the Pittsburgh, PA based band prove that they have plenty of vitriol left, aiming to face the challenges of our chaotic sociopolitical times head on. The band pull no punches lyrically, immediately drawing a line in the sand against the fascistic hate mongering of the Trump administration and making it clear that 20/20 Vision is an album intended to explicitly address the here and now.

Neck Deep Announces Fourth Full-Length Album ‘All Distortions Are Intentional’

Neck Deep have officially invited fans to join them on their next journey with today’s announcement of their highly anticipated fourth album All Distortions Are Intentional. No mere collection of songs, All Distortions Are Intentional is conceptually rich, with themes of disconnection, existential confusion, and the search for meaning. Due out July 24, 2020 via Hopeless Records, All Distortions Are Intentional is available for pre-order today at http://smarturl.it/NDADAI.

The album tells the story of a loner named Jett, who lives in a place dubbed Sonderland, a combination of “Wonderland” and the somewhat obscure word “sonder”: the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own, with their own ambitions and worries. “It’s that strange existential realization that you are not the entire world,” explains singer Ben Barlow“Everyone around you feels and lives the same way that you do. You’re just an extra in their story.”

The concept kicked off after the writing of lead single Lowlife“,which welcomes fans into Sonderland along with protagonist Jett and the love of his life, Alice. Fans can meet these characters and enter their world with today’s music video release, created by YHELLOW with the original treatment ideas coming straight from Barlow’s mind. It is vibrant and visceral and is the perfect invitation into the world of Sonderland. Although the songs on All Distortions Are Intentional are told through the lenses of these characters, it is still uniquely reflective of the lives that each member of Neck Deep have lived. “Writing ‘Lowlife’, it was like I was tapping into this part of my own personality, my own psyche” shares Barlow.

All Distortions Are Intentional was produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Ariana Grande, One Direction) and was recorded in Wales at the legendary Monnow Valley Studio, which has been a recording home for artists like Oasis, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Joss Stone and more. Squire and Neck Deep tucked themselves away at the world famous residential studio, located in the gorgeous but remote Wye Valley in the heart of the band’s native Wales. The decision to create the album ‘at home’ was an important one; on the eve of what’s certain to be Neck Deep’s greatest exposure to the world yet, it’s a grateful and decisive acknowledgment of where they’ve come from, both literally and figuratively.

Meanwhile, Ben’s brother and longtime Neck Deep collaborator Seb Barlow handled the album’s gargantuan mix, a process that saw him grow so close to the material that he formally joined the band as bassist at the completion of the process.

The forthcoming album is the follow up to 2017’s monumental release, The Peace And The Panic, which catapulted the band into mainstream success with a #2 charting position on the US Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and welcomed their first U.S. Late Night TV performance. All Distortions Are Intentional is a journey of self-discovery and personal expression not unlike the rise of the band itself.

Neck Deep leapt from side project to fulltime band in 2012, after a single track online led to a pair of EPs followed by a deal with Hopeless Records. They struck a chord with a burgeoning audience, quickly heralded as leaders of a resurgence in hook-heavy punk, with an immediate accessibility and fun attitude combined with genuine concern for issues like loneliness, depression, and anxiety. The instant relatability of the band’s songs and overall approachable attitude endeared them to a new and incredibly passionate generation, with devotion to rival the biggest titans of melodic rock.

All Distortions Are Intentional marks Neck Deep’s arrival as an arena-confident band. Having mastered all of the strengths of the scene that birthed them, Neck Deep have evolved to this next stage, and as their crowds grow larger, it’s clearer than ever just how much this “silly little band” has come to mean to people.

New Age Thrash Titans WARBRINGER to Release New Album, “Weapons of Tomorrow”

Thrash metal force WARBRINGER is launching into 2020 with the announcement of their brand-new full-length release, entitled Weapons of Tomorrow, scheduled to drop on April 24 via Napalm Records. With this release, the SoCal five-piece have not only proven a true mastery of their craft, but have spurred the forward shift of an entire genre – transporting thrash metal into a brand-new era.

Building upon their internationally-acclaimed blistering attack, with Weapons of TomorrowWARBRINGER showcases a refreshed technical approach and a heightened focus on unique lyrical and vocal style. The record takes the promise of the band’s previous release, Woe to the Vanquished, and carries it onward, presenting WARBRINGER at their absolute best to date – over 10 years into their careers.

In celebration of the announcement of Weapons of TomorrowWARBRINGER has released a brand-new music video featuring a completely remastered version of their most recent single, “Firepower Kills” – exclusive to the new album!

WARBRINGER vocalist John Kevill says:
“’Weapons of Tomorrow’ contains two tracks you’ve previously heard, ‘Firepower Kills’ and ‘Power Unsurpassed’, which now appear on the record in new and improved form. ‘Firepower Kills’ is about advancing weapons technology. Modern science is an enormously powerful tool, and the human species must be very cautious about its use. This song looks at the last 100 years of scientific advances in weaponry and asks, ‘where does this lead?’ Musically, it’s a total thrashing burner, and the main riff ‘evolves’ throughout the song like the weaponry in the lyrics.”

Weapons of Tomorrow was recorded with acclaimed producer Mike Plotnikoff – producer on Woe To The Vanquished and for artists such as In Flames and Fear Factory – and mixed by Zack Ohren, who is credited for the mix on WARBRINGER’s sophomore album, Waking Into Nightmares, as well as his work with artists like Machine Head and Immolation.

Weapons of Tomorrow contains a variety of themes, presenting a self-contained concept with each track, but ultimately focuses on the over-arching notion of modern technology endangering society rather than advancing it.

John Kevill says about the lyrical content of Weapons of Tomorrow:
“I put a lot of thought and detail into the lyrical content of this album. There’s often a ‘storytelling’ component, in which the song’s lyrics develop or turn along with the music and structure of the song. All in all, Weapons of Tomorrow contains elements of our previous album, ‘Woe to the Vanquished’, but takes them further and in new and exciting directions.”

Regarding the band’s advancing sound, Kevill adds:
“While containing speed-driven burners like ‘Firepower Kills’ and ‘Unraveling’ and crushing stomps like ‘The Black Hand Reaches Out’ and ‘Crushed Beneath the Tracks,’ Weapons of Tomorrow goes really big on the epic tracks, containing not one but four. Each has its own character. The forlorn and semi-ballad ‘Defiance of Fate’ breaks serious musical ground for us and is like no song in our catalogue. ‘Heart of Darkness’ and ‘Notre Dame (King of Fools)’ offer different takes on a dark, black metal-oriented sound, and ‘Glorious End’ is a tragic war epic with a unique lyrical component.”

Weapons of Tomorrow Tracklist:
1) Firepower Kills
2) The Black Hand Reaches Out
3) Crushed Beneath the Tracks
4) Defiance of Fate
5) Unraveling
6) Heart of Darkness

Five Finger Death Punch – F8 | Album Review

A review on F8, the eighth full album from Five Finger Death Punch.  This album is the proclaimed rebirth of the band after getting clean and trying to return to form.

F8 Album Review

Five Finger Death Punch, also abbreviated as 5FDP or FFDP, is an American heavy metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2005, the band’s name comes from kung fu cinema. The band originally consisted of vocalist Ivan Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory, guitarist Caleb Andrew Bingham, bassist Matt Snell, and drummer Jeremy Spencer. Bingham was replaced by guitarist Darrell Roberts in 2006, who was then replaced by Jason Hook in 2009. Bassist Matt Snell departed from the band in 2010, and was replaced by Chris Kael in 2011. Spencer then departed the band in 2018 due to re-occurring back issues, and was replaced by Charlie Engen, making Bathory and Moody the only original members of the band.

F8 is the upcoming eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch. Scheduled to be released on February 28, 2020, the album is considered a “rebirth” of the band, according to guitarist Zoltan Bathory.  It is also the band’s first album with new drummer Charlie Engen who replaced Jeremy Spencer in 2018.

Trivium Announce New Album “What The Dead Men Say”; New Song “Catastrophist”

Trivium Announce New Album What The Dead Men Say
For April 24, 2020 through Roadrunner Records

Tour with Megadeth & Lamb Of God This Summer

Over the past 20 years, Grammy-nominated band TRIVIUM — Matt Heafy [vocals, guitar], Corey Beaulieu [guitar], Paolo Gregoletto [bass], and Alex Bent [drums]— have quietly claimed their place at the forefront of heavy music in the 21st century. The Florida-based band is pleased to announce that its ninth full length, What The Dead Men Say, will be released through Roadrunner Records on April 24. The album is available for pre-order here.

Today, the band has shared the video for the first single “Catastrophist.” Watch and listen here.

What The Dead Men Say is everything that is Trivium,” explains Heafy. “On this album, one can hear the proper ingredients of past, present, and future Trivium. The Trivium sound is having everything the band does — on one album.”

“With the new album, we took what worked on the The Sin And The Sentence and dialed it all up to 11,” says Gregoletto.

Beaulieu echoes that sentiment, saying, “We wanted to build on the foundation that we established with the last album. The record has all the elements that are Trivium — along with all of us wanting to keep pushing ourselves creatively. This led to a highly-inspired and fast-paced writing and recording process that really captures the energy of the band.”

Trivium will spend most of 2020 on the road in support of What The Dead Men Say. The band will tour with Megadeth and Lamb of God this summer and fall. All North American Trivium tour dates are below.

Trivium released its now-canonical album Ascendancy in 2005. It was recognized as KERRANG!’s “Album of the Year,” achieved a gold certification in the UK, and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. Metal Hammer placed it in the Top 15 of “The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of the 21st Century.” It ignited a string of six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and five straight Top 3 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, culminating on 2017’s benchmark The Sin And The Sentence. That album elevated the group’s total stream tally past a quarter-of-a-billion. Additionally, “Betrayer” received a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance.” Unanimous acclaim followed from Decibel, Loudwire, Ultimate Guitar, MetalSucks, and Metal Hammer who dubbed them, “quite simply one of the best bands in modern metal.” Not to mention, they performed alongside Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and many others and graced the main stages of Download, Bloodstock, KNOTFEST, and more. After two decades, eight albums, and hundreds of sold out shows, Trivium actualize the all-encompassing ambition they first set in motion back in 1999. On their ninth full-length album, What The Dead Men Say [Roadrunner Records], the Florida quartet ascend to an inimitable nexus of masterful melody, hypnotic hook-craft, tight thrash, black metal scope, and cinematic extremity.

Additionally, Heafy and Gregoletto will serve as special guests at the Mortal Kombat 11 Grand Finals Final Kombat 2020 on Sunday, March 8 in Chicago, Illinois. The event will crown the best of the best Mortal Kombat 11 players in the world..
