Really driving home the fact that the #NDUnit is stronger than ever Neck Deep have joined with fans to create a music video for brand new single “When You Know.” After the current COVID-19 crisis derailed the band’s plans for their music video shoot, they took to the internet to ask fans, friends and fellow artists to help them create a one-of-a-kind lyric video for the track.
Speaking of the new song, singer Ben Barlow says, “‘When You Know’ is a song about realizing you’re in love. The old saying ‘when you know, you know’ was in my mind with this one.”
“In the timeline of ADAI this is where Jett realises, after a wild night out, and another night talking about how they see the world and realising they share similar feelings, that he is in love with Alice,” reveals Barlow. “The mutual feeling of not belonging, the difficulties of their day to day lives and battling their inner insecurities, yet now having each other to ease the pain and giving a sense of purpose is the key take-away from this song. It’s a pretty straight up summer love song, but one that’s mega catchy and feel good – a stark contrast to some of the more emotionally heavy songs on the record.”
Fans can stream the new music video today here:
“When You Know” joins “Lowlife“as the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, All Distortions Are Intentional. Due out July 24, 2020 via Hopeless Records, this is no mere collection of songs. All Distortions Are Intentional is conceptually rich, with themes of disconnection, existential confusion, and the search for meaning.
The album tells the story of a loner named Jett, who lives in Sonderland, a combination of “Wonderland” and the somewhat obscure word “sonder”: the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own, with their own ambitions and worries. “It’s that strange existential realization that you are not the entire world,” explains singer Ben Barlow. “Everyone around you feels and lives the same way that you do. You’re just an extra in their story.”
The forthcoming album is the follow up to 2017’s monumental release, The Peace And The Panic, which catapulted the band into mainstream success with a #2 charting position on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and welcomed their first U.S. Late Night TV performance. All Distortions Are Intentional is a journey of self-discovery and personal expression not unlike the rise of the band itself.
Neck Deep enlisted the talents of Grammy-nominated A-list producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Ariana Grande, One Direction) to create ADAI, recording in Wales at the legendary Monnow Valley Studio, which has been a recording home for artists like Oasis, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Joss Stone and more. Squire and Neck Deep tucked themselves away at the world-famous residential studio, located in the gorgeous but remote Wye Valley in the heart of the band’s native Wales. The decision to create the album ‘at home’ was an important one; on the eve of what’s certain to be Neck Deep’s greatest exposure to the world yet, it’s a grateful and decisive acknowledgment of where they’ve come from, both literally and figuratively.
This fall, Neck Deep will be kicking off their North American headline tour in celebration of All Distortions Are Intentional. The tour kicks off November 6th in Nashville, TN and will hit Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore, Kansas City, Austin, Philadelphia, Toronto and more before wrapping up for one of their biggest US shows to date in New York City at Terminal 5.

Neck Deep leapt from side project to full time band in 2012, after a single track online led to a pair of EPs followed by a deal with Hopeless Records. They struck a chord with a burgeoning audience, quickly heralded as leaders of a resurgence in hook-heavy punk, with an immediate accessibility and fun attitude combined with genuine concern for issues like loneliness, depression, and anxiety. The instant relatability of the band’s songs and overall approachable attitude endeared them to a new and incredibly passionate generation, with devotion to rival the biggest titans of melodic rock.
All Distortions Are Intentional marks Neck Deep’s arrival as an arena-confident band. Having mastered all of the strengths of the scene that birthed them, Neck Deep have evolved to this next stage, and as their crowds grow larger, it’s clearer than ever just how much this “silly little band” has come to mean to people.

Mongolian rock sensation THE HU is releasing a brand-new music video for “Wolf Totem” featuring Papa Roach front man Jacoby Shaddix. The video is the first from the soundtrack of The Retaliators, a new horror-thriller from Better Noise Films, and features footage from the film. This new version of the video comes on the heels of the tremendous success of the original, which has over 10 million views online.
Watch “Wolf Totemft. Jacoby Shaddix” here:
THE RETALIATORS is a high-octane horror-thriller, starring Michael Lombardi (FX’s Rescue Me), Marc Menchaca (Ozark, The Outsider) and Joseph Gatt (Dumbo), with special guest appearances by some of rock music’s biggest names; Tommy Lee, Five Finger Death Punch, Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), The Hu, Ice Nine Kills, Escape The Fate and more. The film was written by Darren Geare and Jeff Allen Geare, and directed by Bridget Smith. It will be released in Fall 2020.
The original version of “Wolf Totem” charted at #1 on Billboard‘s Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart back in April 2019 and is featured on THE HU’sTop Ten-charting debut album THE GEREG (Better Noise Music). This is the band’s second single to go to Active Rock Radio, after “Yuve Yuve Yu” featuring Danny Case (From Ashes To New) peaked at #4.
“I’m honored to be part of such a powerful new blend of rock n roll,” says Shaddix. “The Hu are the real deal. Don’t sleep on this.”
THE HU has been making waves across the globe with sold-out shows and festival appearances presenting their signature brand of “hunnu rock” –a one-of-a-kind mixture of Western rock music combined with traditional Mongolian instrumentation and throat-singing in their native language.
The band has achieved wide critical acclaim and appeared on many 2019 year-end best-of lists. Loudwire listed THE GEREG among its Top Albums of 2019 and Revolver Magazine listed the band’s video “Great Chinggis Khaan” among the year’s Top 10. In the UK, THE GEREG placed among Top Albums of 2019 in Classic Rock and Metal Hammer magazines.
SoCal thrash metal force WARBRINGER will release their highly anticipated full-length follow up to 2017’s acclaimed Woe To The Vanquished, entitled Weapons of Tomorrow, on April 24 via Napalm Records. Today, the band has unleashed a new video for the grandiose album closer track “Glorious End”, which in theme with the album’s concept, presents itself as a war epic narrated by an exchange between two close heroes – father and son.
Check out the brand new video below, and witness the somber tale and splendiferous sound of “Glorious End”.
WARBRINGER vocalist John Kevill says:
“‘Glorious End’ is the grand finale of Weapons of Tomorrow, and a first-person narrative war epic. The verse is done as a father-son dialogue, in which the son promises the father that he will live up to his ancestor’s legacy of courage, honor, and duty. The song and title have a cruel twist of irony, as the protagonist’s bravery is rendered useless by the horrific new weapons of his time, and he questions the virtues of his father as he dies.
This kind of narrative storytelling element is something we feel is pretty unique to WARBRINGER among thrash metal bands. The music is hard-charging and aggressive, but also somber, grandiose, and well, glorious. The epic side of WARBRINGER is something we haven’t shared in a single yet, and we thought it was long overdue. Now onwards, brave sons.”
With Weapons of Tomorrow, WARBRINGER have not only proven a true mastery of their craft, but have spurred the forward shift of an entire genre – transporting thrash metal into a brand-new era. Building upon their internationally-acclaimed blistering attack, Weapons of Tomorrow showcases a refreshed technical approach and a heightened focus on unique lyrical and vocal style. The record takes the promise of the band’s previous release, Woe to the Vanquished, and carries it onward, presenting WARBRINGER at their absolute best to date – over 10 years into their careers.
Weapons of Tomorrow was recorded with acclaimed producer Mike Plotnikoff – producer on Woe To The Vanquished and for artists such as In Flames and Fear Factory – and mixed by Zack Ohren, who is credited for the mix on WARBRINGER’s sophomore album, Waking Into Nightmares, as well as his work with artists like Machine Head and Immolation.
Weapons of Tomorrow contains a variety of themes, presenting a self-contained concept with each track, but ultimately focuses on the over-arching notion of modern technology endangering society rather than advancing it.
John Kevill says about the lyrical content of Weapons of Tomorrow:
“I put a lot of thought and detail into the lyrical content of this album. There’s often a ‘storytelling’ component, in which the song’s lyrics develop or turn along with the music and structure of the song. All in all, Weapons of Tomorrow contains elements of our previous album, Woe to the Vanquished, but takes them further and in new and exciting directions.”

Adrenalin-fueled, Rock n’ roll circus and recent JUNO nominees, PALAYE ROYALE, have released an animated video for their brand new single, “Little Bastards“, the opening track of their highly anticipated new album THE BASTARDS– releasing May 29th on Sumerian Records. You can watch the animated video here and below and you can pre-order THE BASTARDS along with special edition merch bundles over at PalayeRoyale.com
The story board for the new animated video for Little Bastards is based on the band’s upcoming graphic novel that has been written and drawn by drummer Emerson Barrett and XO Billie. It reflects this time of isolation and shows the bands innate ability to deliver enormous creativity, even during times of isolation and great challenge.
Speaking on the new song and video, guitarist Sebastian Danzig says,
“Little Bastards is the opening track from our third album, The Bastards. Musically we show the direction of the album all in a single track. The vulnerability, the truth and the aggression all wrapped together in a three and a half minute track which will set the listener up for what is too come for the next 14 tracks and what corners we will touch.
Lyrically it trails from our latest release “Lonely” but displaying the frustration and anger towards individuals that are meant to be friends.
Visually we wanted to display our current state which is complete isolation from the world; trapped inside a house but yet the toxic society has found its way inside. We have to “band” together to keep our circle of trust and honesty tight.“
PALAYE ROYALE have been teasing their 3rd studio album, THE BASTARDSsince last year. Surrounded by a utopian world created by the band, THE BASTARDS is set in a place that is a reflection of their own lives, but in a mythological sense. Speaking on this special world he and his brothers have created, Emerson Barrett adds,
“It takes place around the island of Obsidian and it’s set in 1888. In short, it’s a world that started off with intentions where the island encouraged free thinkers and artists to exist and, as everything does in life, eventually it becomes this political power and evil toxicity that comes with everything. To remain a true individual in the society, you must wear a gas mask.”
Musically, the album is an enormous step-up for the band. It is, in turn, dark, lush, angry, vulnerable, caustic and warm. From the grandiose Bond-theme-esque ‘Tonight Is The Night I Die‘, to the darkly jarring ‘Anxiety‘, from the quietly heartbreaking refrain of ‘Lonely’ and the massive fuzzed up, distorted guitars of ‘Nightmares (Coming Down)‘,THE BASTARDSdemonstrates just how far the band have expanded their writing and musical dexterity, rounding out their already accomplished arson with flourishes of electronics, metal beat-downs, drum n bass beats and haunting string arrangements. There are singles on the album, luminous highlights, but it’s also a piece of work that works beautifully when listened to as a whole.
Lyrically, the album addresses a number of important issues, prevalent to today’s youth – struggles with mental health, the gun violence epidemic, substance use as a means to escape a difficult reality and parental abandonment all play a part in the album’s rich lyrical tapestry. Speaking on the band’s refreshingly honest and open approach to writing on the new album, Remington adds,
“We need a little honesty and a little truth. The world is getting so tainted by everyone trying to be so fucking perfect and so goddamn PG and trying to walk this line of not trying to offend anyone. People need to be themselves, just for 20 minutes at least.”
In short, THE BASTARDS is an album that demands your attention. The world needs PALAYE ROYALE right now and PALAYE ROYALE have delivered in spades.
Pre-orders for THE BASTARDS are available now from palayeroyale.com with a huge variety of special pre-order items including a nail polish set limited to 1,500 sets, limited edition gas masks limited to 250 pieces, a limited edition The Bastards leather jacket and limited edition mugs limited to 250 as well as a varitey of t-shirt designs, long-sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts and a hoody.
THE BASTARDS Track Listing 01 Little Bastards 02 Massacre, The New American Dream 03 Anxiety 04 Tonight Is The Night I Die 05 Lonely 06 Hang On To Yourself 07 Fucking With My Head 08 Nervous Breakdown 09 Nightmares 10 Masochist 11 Doom (Empty) 12 Black Sheep 13 Stay 14 Redeemer 15 Lord Of Lies (Bonus track)
PALAYE ROYALE are leading a generation in togetherness through honesty, danger and infectious art-punk. They have clocked up over 70 million total streams on Spotify, over 44 million views on YouTube and have a combined social media following of over 1 million fans.
Their album Boom Boom Room Side Bwas released in September 2018 via Sumerian records and saw an impressive first week on the Billboard charts, debuting at #17 on the Top Albums Chart, #3 Top Alternative and #6 Top Rock. The lead single from the album, ‘You’ll Be Fine’ hit #23 at rock radio and to date has had 10.5 million streams on Spotify.

That, plus appearances at festivals such as Reading and Leeds, Download, Sonic Temple, Isle of White, PinkPop and Nova Rock, has seen PALAYE ROYALE hone their live set into something visually and sonically stunning.

Multi-platinum hard rock titans GODSMACK have released the video for their new hit single “Unforgettable” from their latest smash album WHEN LEGENDS RISE (BMG).
With music programs continuing to be at risk in schools across the country, it was important for the band–Sully Erna [vocals, guitar], Tony Rombola [guitar], Robbie Merrill [bass] and Shannon Larkin [drums]–to make a video about the power of music to uplift lives. They invited 400+ aspiring musicians from all over New England to join them at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, NH for the shoot.
The “Unforgettable” video (directed by Noah Berlow) culminates a two-year process where the band involved students, starting with the recording of the song when 20 students joined them in the studio to provide vocals on the chorus. These same students were also invited to perform the song live onstage with GODSMACK at their show in Gilford, NH on August 22, 2018 at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. Earlier this year, the band returned to the Gilbert H. Hood Middle School and enlisted students to rehearse with them the day before the shoot to prepare them for the filming. As part of the band’s visit, SULLY talked to the students about his life–the challenges, blending in, how music saved him–and encouraged the young musicians to continue to pursue their dreams.
“We took these middle school students on a two-year long journey to show them how important music truly is to us all,” SULLY says. “Throughout 2018, we continued to include these kids in all aspects of the process by showing up at their school and personally teaching them the song, including them to join a part of our world tour inviting them to perform live onstage with us, taking them to NYC to further educate them on the business side of the music industry, visiting them at their schools to talk to them about the gift of music, and ultimately inviting them to shoot their first ‘official music video’ with the band.”
“Unforgettable” comes on the heels of last year’s career first for the band when they scored three #1 singles from GODSMACK‘s critically acclaimed and seventh studio album WHEN LEGENDS RISE. The song is currently at #11 on the active rock charts. It follows “Under Your Scars,” which was the group’s third #1, and the album’s two previous tracks that were #1 active rock hits: “When Legends Rise” and “Bulletproof,” the latter of which was recently certified Gold in the U.S. and was also the most-played song at rock radio in 2018. WHEN LEGENDS RISE entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart in the top ten (#8), with four #1 placements on other charts: Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Music Albums, Top Independent Albums and Top Alternative Albums.

Due to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic forcing the closure of warehouses and production facilities, Nordic folk outfit WARDRUNA have made the decision to postpone the release of their fifth full length album, KVITRAVN–which translates to ‘White Raven’–from its originally scheduled release date of June 5, 2020 until January 22, 2021 via BY NORSE MUSIC in the U.S. and SONY MUSIC / COLUMBIA RECORDS (worldwide excl. U.S.). It will remain available for pre-order during this time (links below). WARDRUNA will proceed to keep plans for their anticipated return to North America this Fall on a solo run from September 24 to October 20, dates of which are listed below. The band will continue to reveal new music throughout the year.
“It is with heavy hearts and great disappointment that we announce that our upcoming album ‘Kvitravn’ will be moved to January 22, 2021,” says founder/composer EINAR SELVIK. “Closed-down production factories and heavily reduced logistic services due to the COVID-19 situation makes it impossible to go forth with the release as planned. Nobody knows how long this situation will last and therefore we feel it is best to set a realistic date with a higher certainty of us being able to execute the release in the manner needed. On a more positive note, we plan to release a good handful of songs in the time to come before the full album comes out, so stay tuned!”
Pre-order options for KVITRAVN are available via digital download here. The album is also available on CD and 180-gram 2LP gatefold vinyl (black or ltd. Edition white) here.
Since their formation in the early 2000’s initiated by Selvik, WARDRUNA have transcended genres, cultures and language barriers worldwide with their musical ode to ancient Nordic traditions with a #1Billboard World Music album (2016), massive music contributions to the History Channel’s “Vikings” and a 2018 sold-out headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
Beyond genre, theirs is a sound that must be truly experienced. WARDRUNA‘s first-ever concert was held in front of the 1,500-year-old Gokstad Viking ship in Oslo, NO and they’re the only band to have ever been allowed to hold an amplified concert at the Viking ship museum. Since then they’ve performed sold-out shows worldwide, including major festival headlining appearances (Hellfest, Roadburn, Summer Breez, Castle Fest, Echoes & Merveilles, Rock oz Arenes, Rock The Coast, etc.).

Finnish heavy melodic death metal unit WOLFHEART recently announced the upcoming release of their new full-length Winter War epic, Wolves Of Karelia, out April 10, 2020 via Napalm Records.
Today, WOLFHEART has revealed the unrelenting, heavy-hitting single “The Hammer“. A windmill-worthy intro is accented by sinister synth and marching percussion as the song switches effortlessly between black metal-inspired segments and melodic death metal riffage, closing with a somber acoustic passage. The video shows the band during the Wolves Of Karelia recording sessions with producer Saku Moilanen, giving fans an insider’s look at behind-the-scenes studio footage. The video was filmed by Valtteri Hirvonen and edited by Winternotes Production.
WOLFHEART frontman Tuomas Saukkonen says about the track and video:”‘The Hammer’ is the best song to describe the Finnish perseverance and willpower. ‘Never surrender, Never retreat, The last defender, The hammer of the north’. Those lines really underline the fact that no matter what the conditions were, the enemy had to be stopped. Nature was the anvil and you had to become a hammer, and between those two, no invading army could survive.
With the video we wanted to reflect the brotherhood in the band and the crew in contrast to the wrath of the lyrics.”
Just as wildlife itself maintains harmony with a violent clash of beauty and unpredictability, Wolves Of Karelia explores the band’s previously coined genre of “winter metal” – smoothly bridging a traditional approach of extreme genres while maintaining atmospheric and acoustic elements.
Listen to previously-revealed forlorn ode “Ashes” HERE, and the pummeling epic “Hail of Steel” HERE.
The album’s lyrical and musical content is inspired by the Winter War waged between Russia and the band’s native country, Finland, which took place during the winter of November 1939-March 1940. Finland ultimately managed to stop the Russian troops from invading their country. WOLFHEART mastermind and frontman Tuomas Saukkonen was inspired by the personal stories of local veterans, conveying the tales of what they experienced and survived from their perspectives. Somber, frostbitten and heroic, Wolves Of Karelia portrays these tales with stunning musical precision.
WOLFHEART‘s exclusive virtual concert experience will be revealed just two days from now! The performance was pre-recorded at the Finlandia Klubi in Lahti, Finland and will provide fans with an absolute rager of a concert without having to leave the comfort and safety of their own homes.
The purchase of a virtual ticket will grant access to a full HD pro-mixed multicam video of the entire set, a Q&A video and a bonus full gear overview video, to be delivered on April 9. To learn more and to purchase your “ticket” to this exclusive virtual WOLFHEART concert, CLICK HERE.
