Let’s drink and party the ALESTORM way – we’re only here to have fun!
Ahoy, filthy landlubbers! ALESTORM has just landed ashore with a brand new single, “Treasure Chest Party Quest”, fresh off of their upcoming album, Curse of the Crystal Coconut, out May 29, 2020 via Napalm Records. In true, raucous ALESTORM fashion, this chant-a-long foot-stomper will have you amped up to party in no time, and provides a hefty sample of what’s to come on the upcoming album.
With “Treasure Chest Party Quest”, Captain Christopher Bowes & Co. make one thing crystal clear: they will come for your treasure chest while partying so hard, they probably won’t even remember they stole your riches. Try to get this song out of your head – we dare ya!
But that’s not all! To the delight of seafarers everywhere, ALESTORM has also dropped a rowdy new video for the track – a wild visual ride through the minds of the “Pirate Metal Drinking Crew” that only they could dream up. Track suits, gambling, sportscars and newborn babies galore… they’re just here to have fun!
ALESTORM on the new video: “Oh wow! We tried our very best to make a video that would alienate as many of our fans as possible. I think we succeeded! This song is about giving birth to yourself, selling out, and driving awful Yugoslavian cars. All the classic elements of pirate metal!”
The“Pirate Metal Drinking Crew” is back to show all you filthy landlubbers what they’re made of! The band’s sixth long-player features eleven tracks presented true ALESTORM fashion, featuring guest performances from musical greats like Ally Storch of Subway To Sally (violin on the entire album) and Captain Yarrface of Rumahoy! A must-have, riff-laden anthem at any party, “Treasure Chest Party Quest” takes the listener onto a journey into the depths of “Tortugas” darkest taverns and Christopher Bowes’ unique sense of humor. The smashing, lively track “Chomp Chomp”, featuring vocals of Vreth of Finntroll, may make you never want to enter the open waters again, but will definitely entice you to dance along with its addictive melodies. “Pirate Metal Drinking Crew” is yet another foot-stomping anthem on the album that excels with a catchy rhythm and indelible hook. Be careful to not anger the great pirate Scurvy, or he might just unleash the Curse Of The Crystal Coconut with the brutal riffs of the “Pirate’s Scorn” upon you. Whether the album makes you want to grab a fresh coconut and sip it or open up a nice bottle of beer – it will definitely lead to a wild piratical escapade. For the extra-adventurous pirates amongst you, ALESTORM will release a 2-CD Mediabook with ground-breaking 16th century interpretations of the songs. Be sure to get yours.

Atreyu have shared the video for “Super Hero” from their 2018-released album In Our Wake. The track features appearances from Avenged Sevenfold frontman M.Shadows and Underoath drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie.
Watch it here:
Atreyu feat. M. Shadows & Aaron Gillespie – Super Hero
“Our song ‘Super Hero’ was written about what it’s like to be a parent and the vast amount of time, effort, energy, and hard work it takes to be a real-life superhero for your children,” the band says. “The song also has a broader meaning, especially given the current situation the entire world is dealing with. There are many superheroes out there who appear in many forms — namely the first responders, medical personnel, and health care workers who are putting others first as they work to fight COVID-19 and to save lives. We dedicate this song to them.”
Atreyu are working on their eighth album, due out via Spinefarm Records later this year.

When COVID-19 disrupted Dirty Honey‘s plans to return to Australia to record new music with legendary producer Nick DiDia, frontman Marc LaBelle concocted an idea to make use of the unexpected downtime: Suitcase Sessions.
“I’ve always wanted to shoot videos out in nature, in non-traditional locations, and have a high-quality recording rig that was small enough to fit in a suitcase,” LaBelle explained.
The band debuts their first session today: a stripped-down version of “Heartbreaker” in front of a stunning stretch of mountains in Lone Pine, CA, a location synonymous as the backdrop for the most celebrated Westerns filmed since the 1920s. Check out the video (directed by “Rolling 7s” Director Scott Fleishman) here:
Dirty Honey – Heartbreaker (Suitcase Sessions)
“I’ve taken my motorcycle up to Lone Pine for a couple of years now, so I know the area really well,” LaBelle explained. “‘Heartbreaker’ was written on an acoustic guitar, so there was something special about performing it acoustically with those snow-covered Sierra Nevada peaks in the distance.”
Also today, the band members – vocalist LaBelle, John Notto/guitars, Justin Smolian/bass, and drummer Corey Coverstone – see their second single, “Rolling 7s,” explode into the Top Five at U.S. Rock Radio. “Rolling 7s” follows the band’s debut single into the upper echelons of the U.S. and Canadian Rock Charts, coming in at #5 this week. “When I’m Gone” made record industry history last Fall when it because the first track by an unsigned artist to go all the way to #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart.
“I think a lot of us can find ourselves in toxic environments that we eventually learn to call home,” says singer Griffin Dickinson. “It’s easy to get comfy in a bad place yet simultaneously very difficult to make the choice to leave those bad places when the threat of the unknown is so daunting. This song is about taking your life into your own hands, knowing your worth, and making those life-changing decisions that are terrifying yet liberating in equal measure.”

New Delhi based Indian Metal Band BLOODYWOOD has released the official music video for their newest single, “Yaad.” Shot in between the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas and urban India, the music video celebrates the universal human experience of love and loss through a moving story between a man and his companion dog.
“’Yaad’ (Hindi for ‘remember’ or ‘in memory’) is about the power of accepting the loss of a loved one and moving on. The lyrics celebrate the permanent impact they have on us, reiterating the belief that we carry them in our best memories, no matter how far apart we may be, says Karan Katiyar, Bloodywood’s Founder/guitarist, “I lost my dog 10 years ago and I still feel the loss to this day. I wanted the video to show the bond between a man and his dog to highlight its message.”
In spirit of the message within the song and video, Bloodywood funded the purchase of an animal ambulance for a local non-profit animal shelter called The Posh Foundation, who had to recently scrap their existing ambulance due to overuse and break-downs and were in dire need of a new one.
Old Van
New Van
The new ambulance, which will help save the lives of over 27,000 homeless animals in the National Capital Region of India over the next 5 years, was purchased by the band using the profits made on their very successful 2019 debut tour of Europe named Raj Against the Machine Tour and through their crowdfunding page on Patreon.
Bloodywood were scheduled to make their US debut at the Sonic Temple Festival which has been cancelled due to the CoronaVirus. Karan adds, “We had the US tour planned and we have dates in Europe in August, We are very sad we didn’t get to play for our American fans, and hope our August European festival dates don’t get cancelled. No matter what happens in 2020 we will be back in 2021”
The European Festival Dates: 07/08 @ Bloodstock Festival – Derby, UK 08/09 @ Alcatraz Festival (Swamp Stage) – Kortrijk, BE 08/14 @ Reload Festival – Sulingen, DE 08/15 @ Summer Breeze Open Air – Dinkelsbühl, DE
Bloodywood is a metal band from India known for pioneering a sound that seamlessly fuses Indian folk instruments with metal to devastating effect. Expect to hear the percussive power of the mighty Dhol, the melancholic flute, the single stringed Tumbi and several other uncommon, yet distinctly characteristic sounds from India. A combination of thunderous Hindi/Punjabi choruses and meaningful yet unforgiving rap verses along with the ethnic instrumentation makes Bloodywood a truly unique experience.
