Lindsey Stirling Announces Charity Outreach Program for COVID-19 Relief

Platinum-selling electronic artist, violinist, and multi-talented entertainer Lindsey Stirling has found a variety of new ways to connect with her worldwide fanbase this year, despite coronavirus upending her world tour to support her latest #1 album Artemis. To help families with dire economic needs as a result of COVID-19, Stirling created the charity outreach program The Upside Fund and, since its launch in April, has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to help. Today, June 30thStirling is announcing that The Upside Fund, named after her single “The Upside,” is now open to accepting tax-deductible donations and has extended its reach to include anyone with immediate economic assistance (such as housing/rent, utilities, medical bills, food) as a result of all of the events that have transpired recently across the globe. “All of us have felt the effects of COVID-19,” shares Lindsey Stirling. “If this would have happened when I was just starting out, it could have been the end of my career. With so many people at risk of losing everything, I knew I had to do something. I started encouraging my fans who are struggling financially to apply for assistance through my website so that I can try to help. Those of us fortunate enough to be able to give back have a responsibility to do whatever we can to help those who are in jeopardy during this hard time. It’s time for us to come together with our communities and lift where we stand.”

I Prevail Share VR Version of “DOA” Video

I Prevail have just dropped the VR version of their thought-provoking video for “DOA,” which features rap dynamo Joyner Lucas.

“The video will take you inside the world we built for ‘DOA’ and give you a front row seat to the problems we are facing,” the band says.

Watch it here:

View the original video here.

I Prevail continue to defy the odds. The band has generated well over 200 million total streams on last year’s sophomore blockbuster TraumaThe group also received nominations for two GRAMMY Awards in 2020 — in the categories of “Best Rock Album” for Trauma and for “Best Metal Performance” for the single “Bow Down.”

I Prevail and their accomplishments were lauded by mainstream press, including Variety,NPR, and Psychology Today.

The band’s most recent single “Hurricane” landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Chart. It marked the first chart-topping single of the band’s career. The acoustic version, dubbed “Hurricane (Reimagined),” is available here. I Prevail also shared “Feel Something,” a track with EDM artist Illenium. Listen and “feel something” here.

I Prevail have also managed to forge a direct and immediate connection with fans through their music. They took a mental health breakdown and turned it into a powerful body of work. Their numbers—north of 200 million streams and 100 million views and a Top 15 debut on the Billboard Top 200 — are why the band has ascended to the uppermost echelon of the rock genre.

Sevendust Release Soundgarden Cover

Heavy metal legends Sevendust have unveiled a new lyric video for their cover of the Soundgarden classic “The Day I Tried To Live.” The song is the first piece of new music from the band since 2018’s critically acclaimed All I See Is War.

The band chose the song to return to the airwaves with after seeing the societal changes happening around the globe. The lyrical message of learning to live a better life is as relevant today as they were when the song was first released in 1994. The song is available for purchase now here. The new track was produced Michael “Elvis” Baskette, who first worked with the band on their last album. The lyric video for the song was created by Wayne Joyner (known for his work with Dream Theater). It features a lone figure walking down a road thinking about his life with clips of the band woven throughout.

The video can be seen here:

“Soundgarden is such an important band to all of us in Sevendust and this love for them goes all the way back to when we were starting,” explains Lajon Witherspoon. “We discussed trying to do one of their songs and our producer Elvis suggested ‘The Day I Tried To Live.’ I would have been fine with any of those songs personally. When I first heard it, I thought the lyrics were timeless. The lyrics are about trying to experience new things and change the way you live, and we see examples of that every day with what is happening around the world. To have the chance to cover this song and release it is so special to all of us. Thank you, Chris Cornell and Soundgarden.”

Sevendust is known for their high energy live shows and even though the recent Covid-19 has stalled most touring globally, the band has some dates announced. They are scheduled to be part of the Rebel Rock 2020 festival in Orlando this September and have dates in Australia booked for February 2021. More dates will be announced when information becomes available. Fans can go to www.sevendust.com for more information on all dates, VIP packages and ticket purchase links to all shows.

In 1994, Sevendust first forged a familial tie amongst each other that translated into one of the most diehard audiences in the game. To this day, the connection between fans and the GRAMMY® Award-nominated gold-certified hard rock outfit only grows stronger. A trifecta of now-classic gold albums—Sevendust [1997], Home [1999], and Animosity [2001]— ignited their journey. Known as an equally intense and unforgettable live force, they’ve consistently packed houses around the world and decimated stages everywhere from Rock on the Range and Woodstock to OZZfest and Shiprocked! 2015’s Kill The Flaw represented a high watermark. Bowing at #13 on the Billboard Top 200, it scored their highest debut on the respective chart since 2010 and marked their fifth consecutive Top 10 on the Top Rock Albums Chart and third straight Top 3 on the Hard Rock Albums Chart. Most impressively, the lead single “Thank You” garnered a nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance” at the 2016 GRAMMY® Awards, a career first. All I See Is War continued the band’s success debuting at #28 on the Billboard 200 and has become a favorite among critics and fans alike thanks to singles like “Dirty,” “Medicated” and “Risen.”

Mixed by David Castillo, mastered by Ted Jensen, produced once again by Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder), and featuring artwork by Branca Studio, The Valley is a reference to the part of Hardin Valley (west of Knoxville, Tennessee) where vocalist Phil Bozeman grew up. Set against this backdrop, he approaches his subject matter unflinchingly, building upon everything that came before, making it clear that he has survived that which he was forced to endure and is not afraid to confront it. “Phil has been upfront in his lyrics in the past about hardships he endured in his life as a child, and I believe with this record we tried to paint a better picture of that,” says guitarist Alex Wade, who alongside his bandmates, stands 100% behind everything their vocalist has to say. “I feel our music is Phil’s release from his past, being able to get it out and speak about it, and hopefully anyone who hears it that may have gone through similar experiences can find some release in it as well.”

Named “…the strongest release of [Whitechapel‘s] career…” (Exclaim) and containing “…a healthy helping of killer cuts…” (No Clean Singing), The Valley can be previewed and purchased at: http://www.metalblade.com/whitechapel

Trivium Presents: A Light or A Distant Mirror

On Friday, July 10th at 4:00PM ET, Trivium, the kings of streaming who have been embracing the art of the livestream for years, will play their first live show since the April 2020 release of their new album What The Dead Men Say.

This will be a brand new production and the arena-style visual show will stream globally from Full Sail Live, the state of the art event and broadcast arena at Full Sail University in the band’s hometown of Orlando, Florida.

Trivium will debut a new stage show that is cohesive with new album visuals and will perform songs from the new album onstage for the first time.

Pre-show festivities will kick off at 3:00PM ET and will feature event host Terry Bezer of the Mosh Talks show on Knotfest.com, who will lead viewers through interviews, clips from pre-production week, and an opening support slot from Reading, England’s Sylosis.

Tickets for the event are $9 and will be available at live.trivium.org on June 25 at 12:00PM ET.

Exclusive, limited edition event merchandise and VIP bundles can be purchased here

A portion of the profits of the show will go to benefit the music therapy program at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, a non-profit hospital.

“We had to get creative when we heard there was no touring this summer,” the band explains. “We held off on the Zoom concerts and asked our creative/production team to come up with the biggest real-time live metal streaming event of the summer and what we now have to present to you is our show called ‘A Light or a Distant Mirror.’ This performance will be 100% live and is not pre-taped. We will have a brand new epic stage set and lights, and we will bring it 100 percent. We are thankful to our friends at Full Sail University, who are providing us a first class performance arena and the Maestro broadcast team for streaming our show to the corners of the earth! We hope you can join us.”

“Hosting this virtual concert with Trivium is a true full circle moment for us on numerous levels,” says Jay Noble, Full Sail University’s VP of Alumni & Event Production. “Before its release, the album What The Dead Men Say was recorded on campus in our flagship professional recording studio — the Audio Temple, with Course Director Darren Schneider serving as a Recording Engineer. That experience allowed us to welcome home Full Sail graduate and Trivium guitarist, Corey Beaulieu, alongside the entire band including lead guitar and vocalist, Matt Heafy, who can recall recording at Full Sail during his teen years. Through our latest collaboration with Trivium, we are excited to bring this unique livestreamed musical experience to Trivium fans, our university community, and audiences around the globe, during a time when music is needed most.”

SEETHER Returns With First New Album in 3 Years

Three years after releasing their critically acclaimed record Poison The Parish, multi-platinum selling rock band SEETHER announces their highly anticipated return with the new album, Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum out August 28th2020 via Fantasy Records. Translating to “If You Want Peace, Prepare For War,” the album features 13 new tracks, a primal mix of euphoria and misery, undoubtedly some of the strongest material of SEETHER’s illustrious career, including the beautifully tormented first single “Dangerous” released today alongside an animated music video created by noted Turkish director Mertcan Mertbilek (Santana, Ray Charles, Ravi Shankar, Elvis Costello).

See the music video for “Dangerous” here:

“These songs are carefully crafted to nestle in your ears like a tiny velvet rabbit clutching a switch-blade,” says front man Shaun Morgan, his flair for vivid imagery on full display. That bold openness strikes a chord musically and lyrically on songs that explore and eviscerate demons both personal and cultural. “This whole album is kind of me going through that process. I’m exposing myself to a degree I’m not normally comfortable with,” he says. “But I think it’s OK. I’m proud to be a little bit more vulnerable on this album.

Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum, SEETHER’s eighth studio album, was produced by Morgan and engineered and mixed by Matt Hyde (Deftones, AFI) in Nashville from December 2019 through January 2020. The band is joined on the album by newest member, Corey Lowery (ex-guitarist/vocalist for Saint Asonia and Stuck Mojo) Morgan’s friend of 16 years, who also assistant-engineered the album. “Corey has a lot of experience and is an inspiring guitarist as well; he’s the older brother I’ve always wanted,” Morgan adds. SEETHER’s rock-solid rhythm section is bassist and founding member Dale Stewart, and drummer John Humphrey (who joined in 2003).

The push-pull on Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum is as dynamic as it is memorable as Morgan brings his intimate singer-songwriter sensibility to the band’s heavy rock grooves. Drawing on influences including the dark and raw honesty of grunge’s epic guitar attack and the South African underground punk and metal that Morgan (and Stewart) grew up on, SEETHER’s sonic brew is unmistakable and timeless.

The new album’s haunting, unforgettable “Dangerous” is an instant standout. While the band prefers to leave “Dangerous” open to interpretation, lyrics like, “It’s so dangerous all this blamelessness / and I feel like I lost all the good I’ve known” are a passionate and pointed indictment of self and society at large. “Beg,” where Morgan snarls, “See hope fading out of your eyes / This time the pain is going to feel unreal,” is similarly unrelenting. The chorus’s point-blank demand, “beg, motherfucker!” is a primal rock rallying cry. Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum’s brutal but beautiful lyrics infuse these songs with cathartic urgency like this from the track “Failure”: “I live my life like a broken-hearted failure / I’m trying to shed some light on the scars left by the razors.”
