Deftones Discography | Tier List
Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. It was formed by Chino Moreno (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Stephen Carpenter (lead guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). During their first five years, the band’s lineup changed several times, but stabilized in 1993 when Cunningham rejoined after his departure in 1990; by this time, Chi Cheng was bassist. The lineup remained stable for fifteen years, with the exception of keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado being added in 1999. The band is known as one of the most experimental groups to have come from the alternative metal scene, and are sometimes dubbed by critics as “the Radiohead of metal”.
Texan riff masters The Sword have unveiled “Winter’s Wolves“, the second installment of their 3-song Conquest Of Quarantine lockdown session.
Bassist Bryan Richie adds, “Envision large plumes of cannabis smoke or get DIY on it and create your own as you listen to this quarantine rendition of our classic track Winter’s Wolves. It was just as fun and lively as the original version we cranked out in my bedroom some 15 years ago now! Hope y’all enjoy!”
The lockdown session marks The Sword‘s first live performance together since the band went on hiatus in 2018. The first track shared, which premiered last week with Consequence Of Sound, showed the band putting their own inimitable spin on the T-Rex classic, “Children of the Revolution“. Watch that here and stay tuned for the final installment soon.
The Sword’s triumphant live return from hiatus was scheduled to be with Primus this summer as part of their mammoth A Tribute To KingsUS trek. But the pandemic had other plans. Not wishing to deprive fans of the live performances they’ve been waiting so long to see, The Sword got creative and so was birthed the Conquest Of Quarantine lockdown session.
Explains bassist Bryan Richie, “It was a lot of fun getting together with Kyle and Jimmy to record these tracks, and thanks to the miracles of modern technology we were able to lay down a wicked session with JD all the way from North Carolina. Crank this from the comforts of your couch, Conquest of Quarantine brought to you with minimal overdubs and maximum rocking.”
“Children Of the Revolution” and “Winter’s Wolves” will be followed by one final clip, released next week, so be sure to keep it locked to their socials or subscribe at YouTube so you don’t miss the full epic session.
Thankfully, fans will still be able to catch the The Sword in person with Primus on the rescheduled A Tribute To Kings tour in 2021, appearing for the dates listed below.

Marilyn Manson announces the release of his eleventh studio album WE ARE CHAOSout September 11 via Loma Vista Recordings. Co-produced by Manson and GRAMMY® Award winner Shooter Jennings [Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker], the ten-track opus was written, recorded, and finished before a pandemic blanketed us all. Manson heralds the record’s arrival with the title track and lead single “WE ARE CHAOS,” released today. The accompanying video is directed, photographed and edited by Matt Mahurin.
Manson’s painting, Infinite Darkness, which can be seen on the album cover, was specifically created to accompany the music. His fine art paintings continue to be shown all over the world, including gallery and museum exhibitions from Miami to Vienna to Moscow.
Manson says of the album, “When I listen to WE ARE CHAOS now, it seems like just yesterday or as if the world repeated itself, as it always does, making the title track and the stories seem as if we wrote them today. This was recorded to its completion without anyone hearing it until it was finished. There is most definitely a side A and side B in the traditional sense. But just like an LP, it is a flat circle and it’s up to the listener to put the last piece of the puzzle into the picture of songs.
“This concept album is the mirror Shooter and I built for the listener – it’s the one we won’t stare into. There are so many rooms, closets, safes and drawers. But in the soul or your museum of memories, the worst are always the mirrors. Shards and slivers of ghosts haunted my hands when I wrote most of these lyrics.
“Making this record, I had to think to myself: ‘Tame your crazy, stitch your suit. And try to pretend that you are not an animal’but I knew that mankind is the worst of them all. Making mercy is like making murder. Tears are the human body’s largest export.”
WE ARE CHAOS – Tracklist: 1. RED BLACK AND BLUE 2. WE ARE CHAOS 3. DON’T CHASE THE DEAD 4. PAINT YOU WITH MY LOVE 5. HALF-WAY & ONE STEP FORWARD 6. INFINITE DARKNESS 7. PERFUME 8. KEEP MY HEAD TOGETHER 9. SOLVE COAGULA 10. BROKEN NEEDLE

KORN have shared a cover of The Charlie Daniels Band classic “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” [feat. YelaWolf] exclusively via Bandcamp today HERE.
All proceeds from the track will be donated to Awakening Youth, a nonprofit organization devoted to young people faced with the loss of a parent due to divorce, addiction, death, being surrendered for adoption, or other reasons.
Over a galloping bounce, the band rip dueling guitar leads as distortion bleeds into eerie feedback. Frontman Jonathan Davis tears through this timeless story, trading off verses with YelaWolf as they take on the roles of “The Devil” and “Johnny.” The fiddle battle for Johnny’s soul has never sounded quite like this. Recorded during the sessions for the critically acclaimed chart-topping epic THE NOTHING, the track honors the late Charlie Daniels.
“I’ve always said it, but country music is some of the darkest ever,” said Davis. “Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and, of course, Charlie Daniels all turned pain into some really powerful music that sounded alive. ‘The Devil Went Down To Georgia’ is a classic story, and we wanted to release it now to help others in need.”
This continues the relationship between Korn and Awakening Youth. The organization figured prominently in the documentary LOUD KRAZY LOVE about guitarist and co-founder Brian “Head” Welch. Awakening Youth fulfills a mission to uplift at-risk young men and women in the wake of losing a parent. The team offers one-on-one individualized support to personally encourage and motivate and, ultimately, restore families.

Danny Wimmer Presents Announces Aftershock Festival Rescheduled To October 7 – 10, 2021
Metallica & My Chemical Romance Confirmed To Headline Aftershock 2021
Festival To Expand With The Addition Of A Fourth Night
Danny Wimmer Presents has announced that Aftershock 2020, scheduled for October 9 – 11 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA, has been rescheduled to October 7 – 10, 2021, and has released the following statement:
After all the harm caused by COVID-19, there is nothing that we wanted more than to be celebrating Aftershock with you this October at Discovery Park for what was going to be a monumental weekend. We, the artists, and Sacramento County all thought we had a shot at being the first post-COVID festival to happen. That really would have been incredible. We waited as long as we could but, unfortunately, the recent spike of cases now requires that we reschedule this year’s sold-out Aftershock to 2021.
As always, thank you so much for your patience. Please know that every decision we made for 2020, and will make for 2021, is with you, our fans and friends, at the top of our minds. We truly hope to see you in 2021. The world needs live music to return so we can feel connected once again, and we can’t wait to bring back the biggest rock experience on the West Coast.
The DWP team is already working hard on Aftershock 2021—October7, 8, 9 and 10—at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA. Aftershock 2021 will be headlined by Metallica and My Chemical Romance, who were both confirmed for the sold-out 2020 event. Metallica will still perform their highly anticipated two unique sets over two nights. The complete Aftershock 2021 lineup will be announced this October.
In addition, DWP is excited to announce a fourth night to Aftershock 2021, in partnership with Jack Daniel’s, as an epic celebratory evening to kick off the return of California’s favorite rock festival.
Metallica said: “Everyone in the Metallica camp is beyond bummed that we can’t come connect with all you incredible music fans in Sacramento and the surrounding area this October which, as you know, is just up Interstate 80 from where we are based. But obviously your health and safety, as well as that of everybody working the festival, and our crew is paramount. So, if that means we have to wait until the pandemic is contained to rock out with you all, that’s what we’ll have to do. We’re counting the days until we can see you in October 2021 and look forward to joining our brothers in My Chemical Romance and all the other great artists (to be announced) for an incredible weekend of music, good vibes, and plenty of aftershocks! See you in Sacramento at Aftershock 2021. Until then, hoping you all stay safe and sound and take care of each other. Much love.”
My Chemical Romance said: “It is a bittersweet moment looking at the 2020 calendar and watching all the incredible experiences we planned on sharing with each other and our fans this year slowly slip away. However, knowing that the world is historically changing for the better and that those experiences are simply postponed until next year for the safety of all involved, and not canceled, is a comforting and welcomed feeling. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this terrible pandemic and we support every effort to keep every human being safe and healthy. We look forward to being part of Aftershock 2021 in Sacramento, California on the weekend of October 7-10 with Metallica and so many other amazing bands. We are counting the minutes until we can see you all again, but until then please: Stay Safe, Stay Sane, Be Kind, and Keep the Faith. XO”
Aftershock 2020 pass purchasers will receive an email with their options on Monday, July 27, with details regarding their 2020 purchase. As an exclusive gift to all fans who defer to 2021, the newly added fourth night will be included for free.

Sex, Death & The Infinite Void is the second studio album from UK’s Creeper, released July 31st, 2020. The album comes with the intention (according to Will Gould) to create a rebirth for Creeper. Issues by Roadrunner Records in the US.
MOVEMENTS have announced their second album No Good Left To Give, out September 18 on Fearless Records.
The Southern California quartet — Patrick Miranda [vocals], Ira George [guitar], Spencer York [drums], and Austin Cressey [bass] — has also shared the visually stunning animated video for the first single “Don’t Give Up Your Ghost.”
“It talks about depression and suicidal thoughts and tendencies,” says Miranda about the moody and introspective track. “It’s told from the perspective of a person who is dealing with a friend who confides that he or she has attempted to kill him or herself. However, this person has been there as well and has even made suicide attempts, too. The person tries to console the friend and let him or know she’s not alone. It’s about not giving up when there’s so much more the world can offer. Even though you’re in a certain place right now, it doesn’t mean you’re going to be in the same place forever.”
Miranda elaborates further on the vibe of No Good Left To Give, saying, “At its core, the new record is what we’ve always been, which is emotional, real, and honest music. We all know each other very well and understand our respective styles. We’re discussing mental health, struggles with relationships, and relatable things from our lives. At the same time, it’s a little darker.”
Cressey echoes that sentiment, sharing, “The mood is a little heavier, for sure… We didn’t try to emulate anyone. It’s very pure.”
