Pop Evil debuts new single “Breathe Again”

After teasing something new for the past few days, Michigan’s own, POP EVIL, debuted their third single of the year, “Breathe Again”, and revealed the title of their sixth album, Versatile, due out in 2021. After surprising their fanbase with the most significant stylistic shift in sound to date with “Work,” POP EVIL have championed that success into the explosive catharsis found on their new single. More dialed in than ever, Leigh Kakaty flexes his songwriting growth and vocal capabilities across one of the band’s most uplifting and soaring choruses to date. Channeling the groove of their latest Top 10 single “Work” and the chugging riffs of its companion track “Let The Chaos Reign,” “Breathe Again” marks one of POP EVIL’s most diverse and captivating releases to date. The band continues to bridge their heaviness with cinematic melody, indicating what’s to come on their forthcoming album due out next year via Entertainment One (eOne).

POP EVIL has been a staple at major festivals and in theaters and clubs for over a  decade, despite the group’s relative youth. As they’ve ruled the roost with No. 1 Billboard Rock singles like “Trenches,” “Deal with the Devil,” “Torn to Pieces,” “Footsteps,” and “Waking Lions,” they’ve taken their inspired message to the people, on tours with modern rock titans and veteran acts alike. The band bunkered down in Los Angeles in the winter of 2019 to put the finishing touches on the yet to be titled new album due out in 2021 via Entertainment One (eOne). The band also enlisted new creative teams of producers and collaborators to emphasize the band’s sound’s uniquely varied aspects.

As “Breathe Again,” “Let The Chaos Reign,” and “Work” might suggest, the contrast and fearless genre-defying cross-cultural pollination have never been more pronounced than on album number six. The preproduction process yielded close to 30 songs, whittled down to the most potent 12 representing everything about POP EVIL. This new effort will be the highly anticipated follow up to their self-titled album that came out two years ago to high critical praise, with outlets like Loudwire saying, “their self-titled effort delivers a solid top-to-bottom listen.” Collectively, the band’s previous five albums account for over 600 million worldwide streams.

Underoath Releasing Audio & Video From “Lost in the Sound of Separation”

After their groundbreaking, unparalleled, and influential OBSERVATORY livestream series this past July, which grossed almost $800,000 in total sales (including tickets, merch, and vinyl) across 54 countries, GRAMMY-nominated band UNDEROATH are issuing the audio and video from the first livestreamed show of the full album performance of 2008’s Lost in The Sound of Separation. The audio was remixed by Chad Howat (Paramore, K. Flay.)

Underoath were one of the first artists to produce an immersive, full production that was completely livestreamed — to this day, the vast majority of streams aren’t truly live. Underoath approached this series as more than just the live performance, and as they launch Phase 2 of OBSERVATORY, they want fans to be able to access or own the audio and video from the groundbreaking event. If fans aren’t interested in owning the material, they can still listen to the show anytime via their favorite streaming platform. Music videos of select songs will be released weekly for each show.

The material is accessible here.

Revolver has also partnered with Underoath to offer a limited vinyl pressing for each of the three studio albums featured in the OBSERVATORY series.

The OBSERVATORY series influenced countless others in the livestreaming space and was featured in BillboardForbes, CNBC, Revolver, Loudwire, Alternative Press, and Rock Sound.

For OBSERVATORY, the band performed a show per week, broadcast from a secret location and including a groundbreaking new stage design utilizing full touring production exclusively built for these online performances. The series kicked off with the Grammy-nominated Lost In The Sound of Separation, followed by the gold-selling Define the Great Line, and wrapped with They’re Only Chasing Safety, which also achieved Gold status.

Las Vegas-based rock n’ roll girl gang, CHERRY BOMBS are set to bring their incendiary dance & cirque performance art to a virtual theater for the very first time in January 2021. The high-octane collective have unveiled details of their debut streaming extravaganza, Macabarétwith viewers able to select from three show dates (1st, 2nd & 3rd January 2021) and two start times per day (12pm & 6pm Pacific, 3pm & 9pm Eastern, 8pm & 2am GMT, 9pm & 3am CET). Macabarét follows the story of a man tangled in a delicious web of torment and retribution. When he finds himself stranded in the middle of the desert, he makes his way to an unassuming saloon, hoping for help, but what he finds is a taste of his own medicine. Visually stunning and sonically intense, Macabarét is the next step in the evolution of the CHERRY BOMBS’ already high-octane show, combining dance, fire and aerial skill sets within a storyline about what happens to someone who runs out of luck… at the White Dog Saloon. Tickets are on sale now, priced at an early bird rate of $15 each until November 27 by clicking here or by heading over to whitedogsaloon.com. Thereafter, tickets increase in price to $20 and ticketing ends at 12 Noon PST on December 31. Merch & ticket bundles are also available, including exclusive Macabarét merch, the 2021 CHERRY BOMBS official calendar, a directors cut of the virtual show and VIP virtual Meet & Greet options.

Alicia TaylorCHERRY BOMBS‘ founder, creative lead and artistic director, says:

Macabarét is the next step in the evolution of CHERRY BOMBS. Traditionally, we presented our shows in variety-style, but this time, I wanted to do something completely different. I spent months writing a fun and entertaining storyline for this new production, loosely based on folklore surrounding the goddess Pele and what happens to those who cross her, something I learned while living in Hawaii. CHERRY BOMBS will bring all the familiar daredevil elements that our fans expect and love, along with a few new surprises. There is intention behind every detail: every movement, piece of wardrobe, music choice, and character. Having to cancel our tour due to COVID seemingly ruined our chances of debuting this show to our fans. However, a light in this storm has emerged as an opportunity to bring this show globally, and in a distinctive and artistic cinematic style. If you’re a fan of rock and metal music, you will enjoy experiencing some of your favorite songs in an entirely new way.”
