Halestorm + Evanescence Announce Fall 2021 Arena Tour

Evanescence and Halestorm are returning to the concert stage in the U.S. this fall. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off Friday, November 5th, in Portland, OR, and take the bands to arenas across the country before wrapping up in the Northeast right before the holidays.

General on-sale begins Friday, May 14th at 10am local time at LiveNation.com. Limited VIP packages will be available for purchase that include premium seating, access to attend Evanescence’s Soundcheck followed by a moderated Q&A with the band, exclusive merchandise items, and more. A May 12th presale exclusively open to top Spotify listeners of both Evanescence and Halestorm will precede the general on-sale.

The tour will bring together two of the top women in rock — Amy Lee and Lzzy Hale — for a truly badass experience night after night. Close friends as well as close collaborators, just last year, Lzzy performed back-up vocals on Evanescence’s “Use My Voice,” and Amy joined Lzzy on a new version of Halestorm’s “Break In.” In addition to new music and the biggest hits from both women, the shows will highlight their personal bond and the music that’s come of it.

Amy Lee said, “Words can’t express how excited we are to go back on tour with our friends and rock out again. We’ve been building this new music in isolation for over a year and dreaming of what it will be like to finally play it live, and to experience it together with our fans for the first time. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Lzzy Hale said of the upcoming tour, “We have all been mourning the loss of live music, and patiently waiting, looking toward an uncertain future. Finally the future looks bright and I can’t think of a better way to break the silence than with our dear friends in Evanescence. I can only imagine how it will feel to step on stage again night after night, and reconnect with all of the fans whom I’ve missed so much. Get ready for intense emotions, loud performances, and a newly exhilarated energy unlike any tour we’ve experienced in the past. Looking forward to seeing you all!”

This Thursday, May 13th, fans can get a sneak peek of Evanescence playing live during their “Driven to Perform” Cooper Tire livestream concert, which features songs from their recently released Top Rock Album, The Bitter Truth, along with older favorites. Register for the free livestream concert here. And watch Evanescence perform their new single “Better Without You” on The Kelly Clarkson Show today on NBC (check local listings).

The Bitter Truth debuted in March as the #1 Current Rock and Alternative album in the U.S., and the band will bring audiences a high-octane rock energy to match the album, which The LA Times hailed as their “fiercest songs to date.” Consequence of Sound said of The Bitter Truth, “Amy Lee and company triumphantly return … and it’s certainly worth the wait,” and the shows with Halestorm this winter will further prove it.

Hale just completed filming of the inaugural season of Hit Parader’s new music competition show NO COVER, appearing as a celebrity judge alongside Alice Cooper, Bishop Briggs, Gavin Rossdale, and Tosin Abasi. She also hosts A Year in Music for AXS TV; Season 4 premiered last week. The vocalist also appeared on the theme song for the Netflix film Thunder Force along with Corey Taylor, Scott Ian, and more. Myles Kennedy Releases Lyric Video for “Love Rain Down”

With the release of his sophomore solo album just days away, MYLES KENNEDY showcases the musical diversity of The Ides Of March (out May 14, 2021 via Napalm Records) with the unveiling of the pensive ballad “Love Rain Down”. The song showcases the softer side of the upcoming album.

The genesis of the track has been around for years and is reminiscent of what fans and critics were drawn to on his debut solo album Year Of The Tiger. The acoustic introduction builds until the band – drummer Zia Uddin and bassist/manager Tim Tournier – joins in on the second verse and rides out the rest of the track. Lyrically, Myles delivers a plea born out of the longing for answers and solace from all of the dark possibilities of the day as he sings “Let your love rain down. Let it wash away the sorrows I’ve found.”

Watch the visualizer for “Love Rain Down” HERE and below:

While Year Of The Tiger was more of an acoustic exploration through Myles’ mind, The Ides Of March finds him strapping on his electric guitar and pushing himself as a guitarist/songwriter. The Ides Of March was produced by longtime collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette.

Prior to his latest song, Myles released album-opener “Get Along,” the title track and longest song on the album “The Ides Of March” and the current single “In Stride”. “In Stride” is moving up the Active Rock charts and is currently in the Top 25.

As things around the world continue to improve coming out of the recent global pandemic, MYLES KENNEDY has a few tour dates confirmed as The Ides Of March Tour, with more dates to be announced. Myles will be making stops in Kansas City, MO at the Uptown Theater on June 23, Lincoln, NE at the Bourbon Theatre on June 24, and as part of Danny Wimmer events alongside Halestorm in Hoffman Estates, IL at the Now Arena on June 26 and Oshkosh, WI at Ford Festival Park on June 27. All shows will be socially distanced with Covid protocols in place. All information on shows and tickets can be found at www.myleskennedy.com.

ANDREW W.K. to Release New Full-Length Album, “God Is Partying”

Hark, disciples of partying – the long wait is finally over! Napalm Records and ANDREW W.K. are thrilled to announce the impending release of the iconic Party God’s fifth full-length studio rock album, God Is Partying. The long-awaited nine track opus of maximalist rock grandeur is set for release on September 10, 2021.

Hovering in the fluorescent spotlight of his legendary party power, God Is Partying sees ANDREW W.K. ransack the corners of the human psyche, reaching a triumphant apex in his catalog, 20 years after the release of his chart-topping 2001 full-length debut, I Get Wet. Emotive yet steadfast, ominous yet invigorating, God Is Partying embraces both the break-ups and break-downs of life, and ANDREW W.K. once again provides his audience with the perfect soundtrack to celebrate life in all its perplexing and euphoric intensity.

Today, audiences can experience another early serving from the album, in the form of ANDREW W.K.’s latest single, the structurally unconventional and atmospherically unnerving, “I’m In Heaven”, alongside an equally idiosyncratic new music video. As the follow up to the colossal sonic success of the recently released “Babalon”“I’m In Heaven” offers a refreshingly dissonant and weighty dose of what’s to come on God Is Partying.

Phem C. Palmer, the director of “I’m In Heaven”, discusses how they constructed the video’s visual language:
“A secret is no longer a secret if it isn’t being kept, and this is how we approached the spirit of meaning as it applies to the non-diegetic sound images in the ‘I’m In Heaven’ video.”

Showcasing his indisputable musicality, God Is Partying features ANDREW W.K. performing all the album’s instruments, in addition to co-producing the album with his long-time recording partner, Grammy Award-winning engineer, Ted Young.

Channeling the manic euphoria that has compelled ANDREW W.K.’s auditory insignia for decades, God Is Partying is soaked with a flood of epic energy – often traversing seemingly impenetrable lyrical themes while remaining refreshingly relatable, inspiring, and vital for survival. From sinister metallic bastions like the buzzing single “Babalon”, to the timeless story telling of “Remember Your Oath”, the album will have fans embracing their own party power and reveling in the depths of musical euphoria. God Is Partying opens triumphantly with ANDREW W.K.’s hyper-melodic keyboard stylings introducing the menacing and magical music of “Everybody Sins”, perfectly setting the scene for the dramatic immensity to follow. Tracks like the poetic, “No One To Know”, and the soaring tension of “Stay True To Your Heart”, transport the listener to the precipice of a paradoxically infinite sonic horizon – rising into synthesizer-infused epics of mega-jumbo rock music, each track showcasing another example of ANDREW W.K.’s expanding abilities as a vocalist and songwriter. Only halfway through the album is the listener driven directly into fiery depths with the massive track, “I’m In Heaven”, before ascending back up and into the sonic stratosphere with the tracks “My Tower” and the album’s gargantuan closer, “And Then We Blew Apart”God Is Partying is a true ode to the quiddity of ANDREW W.K..

Rise Against Reveal Defiant New Video For “The Numbers”

On the heels of May Day, coupled with a sample of the (Russian translated) French anthem, “L’Internationale,” Rise Against releases “The Numbers,” the lead-off track from the band’s upcoming album, Nowhere Generation, due out June 4 (Loma Vista Records).  Accompanying the release is a defiant visual, encapsulating the spirit of “L’Internationale,” a song that has been an anthem for working people since the late nineteenth century.  Watch the video HERE or below.

The visual for “The Numbers” was conceived and directed by Indecline, the American Activist Collective comprised of graffiti writers, filmmakers, photographers, full-time rebels, and activists.  Indecline’s projects focus on social, ecological and economical injustices carried out by American and International governments, corporations, and law enforcement agencies.

“‘The Numbers’ has given our collective another opportunity not only to work with a band we’ve looked to for inspiration since their early records, but also a chance to create the kind of strong visual content that aims to inspire and educate.  Beyond simply showcasing global protest movements, this video is to serve as a reminder that we are all living in a golden age of resistance and need to use our privileges to commit ourselves to wholeheartedly pulling the rope in the opposite direction.  Or, to put it more bluntly, don’t be like your parents’ generation.  Give a fuck and prove it.”  – INDECLINE

Megadeth And Lamb Of God Announce Rescheduled Tour Dates

It’s time. MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD cannot be stopped and today announced the rescheduled run of the Metal Tour Of The Year. Joining them, as previously planned, will be special guests TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES, heralding the long-awaited return to the stage for these bands, who are every bit as excited about these historic and not-to-be-missed shows as fans are. Tickets for the rescheduled dates will go back on-sale beginning Friday, May 7th at 10am local at LiveNation.com.

MEGADETH, fueled by Dave Mustaine’s triumphant return to the stage following his diagnosis and recovery of throat cancer, will finally embark on their first North American tour since 2017. Speaking on the long-awaited announcement of the rescheduled run, MEGADETH’s leader and frontman, Dave Mustaine says

“Can you hear that sound of armies on the march – of destruction on the horizon? That’s this tour, coming for you. We cannot wait to return to the stage and I promise you you do NOT want to miss these shows. You’re not going to know what hit you!”

LAMB OF GOD pressed ahead with the release of their crushing self-titled album, Lamb of God, which was one of the best-selling metal albums of 2020. The band now looks to take the show on the road as they return to the stage for the first time since the release of the record. Randy Blythe, inimitable frontman of LAMB OF GOD, adds

“It’s been far too long since we got together to do our thing— by ‘we’ I mean bands, road crew, bus drivers, truck drivers, local venue staff, vendors, audience, parking lot attendants, the freaking janitors- the whole damn enchilada. ALL OF US. TOGETHER. Everyone has been waiting, but the time has come to put the puzzle back together— I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been more ready to hit the road with lamb of god. See y’all in a few months with Megadeth, Trivium, & In Flames. Over a year with no live music? These shows are gonna be INSANE…”

TRIVIUM’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy adds

“The Metal Tour of the year couldn’t be stopped by anything. It is still happening, and we can’t wait to bring back shows with this monumental tour. We’re ready. Are you?”

With IN FLAMES singer, Anders Fridén stating

“I can’t really describe how good it feels to be really talking about going on tour, let alone The Metal Tour of the Year. This setup is long overdue and we can’t wait to finally make it happen.”

Produced by Live Nation, the epic, rescheduled tour will now kick off on Friday, August 20th in Austin, TX and hit a further 26 cities before wrapping in Quebec City, QC on Saturday, October 2nd . Full tour itinerary below.

Chevelle Release “Mars Simula” Video

Today, multi-platinum rock band Chevelle uncover the music video for their latest single “Mars Simula.” A standout from their chart-smashing ninth full-length album, NIRATIAS., the video premiered earlier today via an exclusive on Facebook. Watch the video HERE and get NIRATIAS HERE via Epic Records.

At the beginning of the clip, the camera focuses on a snowy old school television set as a reflective monolith flashes on the screen. Inside of this otherworldly cube, Chevelle perform the track in the glow of a stunning frenetic light show, slamming along to each drum hit and riff. As the song crescendos towards a hammering hook, vocalist and guitarist Pete Loeffler engages in a free fall through a circle of spotlights only to resume rocking.

NIRATIAS arrived with a bang last month. It landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 at #9 as the firstnew release to chart within the Top 10 in over three weeks, regardless of genre. Not to mention, it clinched #1 on five Billboard charts—Rock Album, Alternative Album, Hard Music, Overall Album and Internet Album. It has already racked up 20 million-plus streams with “Mars Simula” eclipsing 1.3 million on Spotify. Additionally, the lead single Self Destructor bolted to #1 at Active Rock radio, marking their 12th number 1 single at the format. “Mars Simula” impacts at Active Rock next week.

Chevelle are also set to bring NIRATIAS to the stage with their first show recently announced for June 27th in Hoffman Estates, IL outside at Now Arena. They will also play the  Inkcarceration Festival 2021 in Mansfield, OH, in September. Stay tuned for more soon.

Spiritbox Release New Single “Circle With Me”

Canadian metal outfit and one of this year’s hottest break out bands, Spritbox have released a brand new song “Circle With Me” today on Rise Records . The track features the glorious combination of ethereal vocals, bombastic riffs and savage screams that make up the utterly unique Spiritbox calling card. It is accompanied by a gorgeous music video directed by Orie McGinness, that perfectly compliments the lyrical theme of the song with a constantly revolving shot around the band as they perform.

Listen to “Circle With Me” here and watch the video here or by clicking the image below.

Speaking about the new track, Courtney LaPlante shares

This song was written in the studio as a last minute addition, one of the many reasons we are so grateful to no longer be exclusively working remotely. It captures the spectrum of emotions I’ve been feeling lately about my music. From the anxiety I feel about messing up, to a confidence meant to protect me from self doubt.
Visually, we wanted to present the viewer with the image of us that we miss the most: us performing on stage, with nothing to hide behind: instruments, some lights, and beautiful camera movement.

Circle With Me” follows the band’s two break-out, hit singles released last year – the heartbreaking and otherworldly “Constance” and the unrelentingly brutal “Holy Roller“. Between them, they have clocked up a staggering 18 million streams to date, with “Holy Roller” debuting at #25 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs and spending 7 weeks at #1 on SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s “Devil’s Dozen” with the remix version of the song feat. Ryo Kinoshita of Crystal Lake spending 5 weeks at #2.

Spiritbox recently finished work on their debut album which is slated for release later this year.

The husband and wife duo Courtney LaPlante and Michael Stringer made their debut with a self-released EP in October 2017, quickly building a cult following. In 2018 the duo found their musical counterpart in bass player Bill Crook and partnered with Pale Chord Music to continue to create and release music in single and EP formats and in Fall of 2020, signed with globally renowned label Rise Records.

Spiritbox have quickly become hotly tipped as one of the most exciting, creative and unique new forces to erupt from the world of heavy music. Pushing boundaries both sonically and visually with their beautifully haunting music videos that perfectly match the the juxtaposition of the ethereal, velvet textures of Courtney‘s singing voice and the visceral, rageful power of her screams as they soar over complex soundscapes that ebb and flow between brutally heavy riffing and and progressive, other worldly electronic-tinged passages.

Drawing their name from a device that some believe is capable of communing with the ldead, the band have a paranormal undertone that runs through everything they do, using EVP (electronic voice phenomena) recordings both at their live shows and within their tracks. A quick look at the music videos for fan favorites such as Belcarra,Blessed Be andRule of Nines and it’s clear to see that the band are no strangers to the macabre or paranormal.

Having toured the world many times over with their previous bands – metal outfit iwrestledabearonce (Courtney and Mike) and pop punk band Living With Lions (Bill) – Spiritbox absorbed the highs and lows of living as working musicians and decided to try a different and more sustainable approach when it came to releasing their music. They took the concept of supply and demand and applied it to their release model, focusing on making fans across the globe by using the social media tools available to them, releasing shorter bodies of music and removing touring from the plan until a demand was built. In doing so they quickly garnered a cult-like online following which has lead to over 66.6 million streams across all platforms and sell outs on every physical release and most merch items they’ve released to date.

In Feb of 2020 Spiritbox jumped on a plane and finally went on tour in support of After The Burial across Europe, which was unfortunately cut short due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Despite having to return to Canada early, Spiritbox have remained busy – recording the two new music, shooting the accompanying videos, launching their Patreon and working on their debut LP expected out later this year. The band are also scheduled to perform on major festival line-ups across Europe including Reading & LeedsDownloadRock am Ring and Rock im Park

Gojira Fortitude Album Review

Gojira are a French heavy metal band from Ondres. Founded as Godzilla in 1996, the band’s lineup—consisting of brothers Joe (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (lead guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass)—has been the same since the band’s name change to Gojira in 2001. Gojira have been known for their spiritual and environment-themed lyrics. They have gone “from the utmost obscurity during the first half of their career to widespread global recognition in the second”.
