Zeal & Ardor Share New Song “Run”

It’s been a provocative, stimulating 18 months for black metal blues alchemists ZEAL & ARDOR

Channeling the energy from this profound period of reflection into writing new music, ZEAL & ARDOR offer a first hint towards their forthcoming, self-titled third album, debuting portentous, intense new song “Run.”

Listen here.

ZEAL & ARDOR’s thoughtful frontman Manuel Gagneux elaborates, “‘Run’ is the first single we are releasing off of our self-titled album because, while there are definitely familiar elements present, it sets the tone for things to come. It is surely one of our most aggressive songs yet, but that is just a vanguard of what lies ahead. So run while you still can.”

Acclaimed second album Stranger Fruit was released by MVKA in 2018, following the global attention-getting debut Devil Is Fine. Last October, the band shared a striking, standalone 6-track EP Wake of a Nation

Stay tuned for more information soon.

Gemini Syndrome Announce 2021 Summer Tour Dates

LA alternative metal band Gemini Syndrome have just announced that after a lengthy, multi-year absence from touring that they will be returning to the road this summer. The band will be joined by A Killer’s ConfessionOvtlier, and Pushing Veronica. Also added to a select number of shows will be Eva Under Fire. All tour dates are listed below.

The band will be touring in support of their recently released videos and singles “Die With Me”, “IDK”, “Reintegration”, and their forthcoming new studio album

“We’re very excited to get back on the road this summer with some great friends. After all that the world has been through, it will be nice to be part of the communion of synners once again. See you all soon!” says Gemini Syndrome vocalist Aaron Nordstrom

Drummer Brian Steele Medina continues, “It’s great to get back out and visit with our brothers and sisters again. Now more than ever we could all use music and human contact to balance out the pandemic, murder hornets & Pentagon UFO videos.

Gemini Syndrome have recently released their new track and music video for “Die With Me” via Century Media. Watch the music video HERE and purchase/stream the track HERE. The track has recently entered the Active Rock radio charts, and sets the stage for the band’s new album (their 3rd overall) which is scheduled to be released later this year. Full details on the new studio album will be released at a later date.

“23, Shakespeare, The divine wedding of yin and yang… ‘Die With Me’ is an invitation for the listener to come along on the journey of self-discovery with us, which ultimately leads to the death of the lower self and the resurrection of the higher self. Lao Tzu said, ‘The one created the two, the two created the three, and then came the 10,000 things.’  2 and 3 respectively correspond to the male and female energies. 2 being a single line and 3 being a triangle or vessel. Therefore 23 signifies the merging of the seemingly opposite energies of male and female,” states Gemini Syndrome vocalist Aaron Nordstrom about the newest release.

Gemini Syndrome drummer Brian Steele Medina adds, “In our life we have many deaths, and many reincarnations, and these experiences transform us into a more complete version of our true self… Though while we’re going through it, it’s often uncomfortable, painful, and we tend to avoid these spiritual growth spurts because we’re more comfortable sitting in our pain and shit, than walking through it. So, after we’ve walked through enough of these challenges, we might seek out that person, or tribe whose combined experience could help each other traverse that path to transmutation.”

“Our video for ‘Die With Me’ is designed for the watcher to be exposed to certain signs and symbols and evoke a spiritual experience.” continues Medina. “It depicts a young initiate performing a ritual at her sacred altar. The blindfold symbolizes that her quest for truth must begin within. She contemplates time, and she laments death and learns that time is an illusion. She scribes the language of her heart as she cries out to the Universe, (Uni-Verse = The One Song.) And we’re all dead, so that’s cool too.”

The video for ‘Die With Me’ shows a different side of death than we’ve shown before. Even though we’re all fatally wounded in some way, we’re still performing and extending our invitation. Maybe the girl is performing a ritual to help our souls cross the river styx? Or to keep us animated in our now, dead state,” adds Nordstrom about the “Die With Me” music video.

Gemini Syndrome spent the better part of 2018-2019 writing the final installment of their long planned three album trilogy. They retreated to drummer Brian Steele Medina’s Las Vegas home studio, where they meticulously crafted song after song, relentlessly reworking and rearranging the musical arrangements until they were fully satisfied. After an exhaustive writing process, Gemini Syndrome relocated to Good Sounds Studio in Tempe AZ, where producer Matt Good would help realize the collection of songs. Medina recalls, “We absolutely loved working with Matt and he completely understood where we wanted to take this album creatively and what it was going to take to bring the third chapter of this trilogy to light. Our actual collective blood, sweat and tears went into its creation.”

“Die With Me” follows the release of “IDK” and “Reintegration” and is the band’s first new music since the release of their sophomore album Memento Mori (2016), which hit #1 on Billboard Heatseakers Chart and spawned five singles: “Eternity”, “Anonymous”, “AliveInside”, “SorryNotSorry”, and “RememberWeDie”. Stay tuned for more details about the band’s forthcoming third album by following the band on socials.

TOOL’s Lateralus Hasn’t Aged At All

This video reflects on twenty years of TOOL’s third studio album Lateralus, and how in the past 20 years the album hasn’t aged at all. Click below to watch a video looking back at Lateralus and scroll below to hear music from the album.

Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1990, the group’s line-up includes drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James KeenanJustin Chancellor has been the band’s bassist since 1995, replacing their original bassist Paul D’Amour. Tool has won four Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.

Lateralus (/ˌlætəˈræləs/) is the third studio album by American rock band Tool. It was released on May 15, 2001 through Volcano Entertainment. The album was recorded at Cello Studios in Hollywood and The Hook, Big Empty Space, and The Lodge, in North Hollywood, between October 2000 and January 2001. David Bottrill, who had produced the band’s two previous releases Ænima and Salival, produced the album along with the band, and became the last Tool album produced by Bottrill to date. On August 23, 2005, Lateralus was released as a limited edition two-picture-disc vinyl LP in a holographic gatefold package. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling more than 555,200 copies in its first week of release. It was certified double platinum by the RIAA on August 5, 2003. On February 13, 2015, the album was certified Gold by the BPI. It was also certified platinum in Australia, and double platinum in Canada. Beartooth Share New Song “Fed Up” off Upcoming Album ‘Below’

Gold-selling, Columbus, Ohio-based rock band Beartooth have just shared the fast ‘n’ furious new song “Fed Up” from their fourth studio album, Below, which arrives on June 25 via Red Bull Records.Below is available for pre-order here.

Listen to “Fed Up,” which roars out of the gates and never lifts its foot off the gas for even a nanosecond, here

“‘Fed Up’ was written mid lockdown,” says Shomo. “I really couldn’t think of what to write about so I just started thinking, ‘What am I fed up with in life at the moment?’ and wrote it down. The vibe of this song is garage rock with muddy, blown-out tones. We mixed that with the more pop styling on the vocals, and it made for a really special track.”

The band will also return to the road this summer on a headline tour. The Below Tour kicks off on August 14 in Las Vegas and winds through the country before wrapping in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 25. All confirmed dates are below, including several festivals at which the band will appear.  Get tickets here or here. In other Beartooth tour news, the band was just announced to appear at Louder Than Life.

Beartooth thrilled their legion of faithful fans in late March with a blistering one-two punch! First, they surprise-dropped “Devastation.” The band quickly followed with the video for “The Past Is Dead.” The clip finds the band in performance mode, which is its most natural state. The members are surrounded by a stunning display of pyrotechnics and an otherworldly demon named “Barry,” who has been dubbed the official mascot for the album cycle and can be spotted in the album cover art pictured below. The band also recently shared their latest single, the hyperkinetic new track “Hell Of It.”

The Dead Deads Announce Album + Drop “Murder Ballad II” feat. Corey Taylor

THE DEAD DEADS, the Nashville-based power trio that combines elements of alt rock, punk rock, and metal into a fingerprint-distinct blend, will release their new album Tell Your Girls It’s Alright on August 20 via Rumble Records. Pre-order it here.

To herald the news, the band has dropped the video for “Murder Ballad II,” featuring iconic and inimitable Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor. The song is a power ballad that builds to gnarly crescendo before fading out and leaving you wanting more. So. Much. More.

“My little brother was teasing me the other day about the juxtaposition of our poorly-attended first gig playing a benefit show of Dead Milkmen covers to now releasing a duet with Corey Taylor,” says guitarist Meta Dead. “I know most people’s question is probably going to be: How did this happen? And the answer is: CMFT is nice as hell, and likes the kind of songs we write.”

Bassist Daisy Dead furthers, “It went from, ‘Yay, we’re on tour with Stone Sour’ to ‘Yay, Corey might want to co-write for the new record’ to ‘Yay, here’s a single and a video with CMFT,’ and it all felt pretty natural and also a bit surreal. I mean, our band dressed as Slipknot for Halloween once, so, yeah! It’s wild.”

Taylor himself spoke about the track and working with the band during an interview with Matt Pinfield. He says, “I got turned on to (The Dead Deads) by their album For Your Obliteration… which is such a great album and is some of the best songwriting I’ve heard in years. We had the chance to have them on some Stone Sour shows, and me and Tish hit it off as songwriters. She said, ‘I’ve got this idea for a follow-up to ‘Murder Ballad,’ which was essentially ‘Murder Ballad II.’ Through video, we went back and forth, building this song and working it out. It became something really really cool.”

“The song is a continuation of our song ‘Murder Ballad’ from a previous record,” Meta shares. “It was one of Corey’s favorite songs of ours, so when he and I were talking about what to write about, the idea surfaced to tell the continuing story of the two lovers from that song. At the end of the other song, they were both dead. This song picks up with them as ghosts. You can take it literally that way, or find your own meaning. Corey and I both really enjoy using colorful language that can be interpreted multiple ways. In fact, our sound engineer had no idea it was even about dead people, so that’s a good sign.”

Drummer McQueen points to the song’s roots rock vibe, saying, “It’s a place I can be very at home as a drummer, but Corey’s unique arrangement ideas kept it fresh and challenging.”

TELL YOUR GIRLS IT’S ALRIGHT TRACK LISTING:
“Sea Beast”
“Thinkers and Preyers”
“First Tooth”
Hey Girlfriend”
“Dead Inside”
“Murder Ballad II”
“Wait and See”

A diverse rock lineup has been announced for the next ShipRockedJanuary 22-27, 2022, onboard Carnival Breeze sailing from Galveston, Texas, with stops in beautiful Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico in the Caribbean. ShipRocked 2022 will feature multiple performances from Lamb Of GodI PrevailSteel PantherBadflowerSevendustAvatarP.O.D.Ayron Jones and many more, with a special performance from Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton. In addition, The Stowaways return as ShipRocked’s own all-star band, with a revolving cast of special guests to be announced.

Here’s what some of the 2022 ShipRocked artists had to say about the return of the ultimate rock music cruise vacation:

Mark Morton / Lamb Of God“We are thrilled to announce that Lamb Of God will be appearing on ShipRocked 2022! Live music is coming back in a big way and what better chance to make up for all the concerts you’ve been missing out on over the last year than to set out to sea for 5 days of non-stop rock?! Bring your sunscreen, Pedialyte and lots of Dramamine…Let’s gooooooo!”

Steel Panther:“Continuing the legacy of legendary seafarers who came before us like Captain Ahab, Captain Nemo and the great Captain Merrill Stubing, Steel Panther is proud to be a part of ShipRocked 2022. It will be the best fishing trip you have ever been on…if you’re fishing for a first mate or just an old-fashioned rockin’ good time.“

Johannes Eckerström / Avatar: ShipRocked have been very kind to us in the past, and we are happy to return. Who knows? Between the kayak excursions and live band karaokes we might just lose ourselves in the most disgustingly violent sets that ship has ever seen.”

Badflower: “We’re stoked to be a part of the ShipRocked family. Thanks for having us back in 2022!”
