The Pretty Reckless have teamed up with Rolling Stone to premiere the video for the new single “Only Love Can Save Me Now” (Feat. Matt Cameron + Kim Thayil). The visual features the Soundgarden legends, as well.
“It’s hard to describe the feeling around our song ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now,'” says singer Taylor Momsen. “The song was born out of tragedy and brought to life by two of my favorite musicians of all time — Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. Hearing them play it is simply surreal. This song represents getting through the worst time in my life, and yet, is one of my proudest achievements. It means that there is hope, and that life has to go on, and most importantly, is worth living.”
Thayil says, “It was super fun to spend time in the studio with Taylor, Ben, and Matt, and to have the opportunity to contribute to this The Pretty Reckless song. ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now’ has elements of classic Soundgarden and the riff would probably be at home on Louder Than Love. These are great guitar parts that Ben came up with. They lay down a heavy foundation that allows the entire song to open up with Taylor’s powerful and haunting vocals. Cheers, and thanks to The Pretty Reckless for inviting Matt and me to play on this track!”
Cameron shares, “Kim and I had a blast recording with Taylor and The Pretty Reckless on their new single ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now,’ a fantastic rock track that sounds amazing at full volume. Many thanks to the band for inviting us to play on their new album Death By Rock And Roll.”
The track appears on the band’s new album Death By Rock And Roll, out now via Fearless Records.Upon release, the record topped multiple sales charts — including Billboard’s Top Albums, Rock, Hard Music, and Digital Charts. The record also yielded two back-to-back No. 1 singles — “Death By Rock And Roll” and “And So It Went” (Feat. Tom Morello) topped the charts this year. The band has tallied six No. 1 singles at the rock format throughout its career.

One of heavy metal’s all-time greats, Judas Priest, will finally get the opportunity to celebrate their 50th anniversary this year with the launch of a North American tour this fall. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour will also feature Sabaton as openers and is being fueled by the highest charting album of Priest’s career, ‘Firepower,’ which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200.
Produced by Live Nation, the North American tour – which will run throughout September (kicking off on September 8th in Reading, PA) and November (concluding on November 5th in Hamilton, Ontario), will feature a variety of special effects, which will undoubtedly enhance the might of Priest’s metal.
Tickets for the newly announced dates will go on sale beginning this Friday, June 11th at 10am local time at http://Ticketmaster.com
Tickets for the previously announced tour dates are available now.
“Defending the heavy metal faith for fifty years, the Priest is back!” – Rob Halford
“Time to don the leather and studs and roll out the Priest Machine – celebrating our 50 Heavy Metal Years!!” – Glenn Tipton
“After the horrific year of restrictions we’ve all had to endure, what better place to break free, than the land of the free – the USA!” – Ian Hill
Judas Priest originally formed in 1970 in Birmingham, England (an area that many feel birthed heavy metal). The original nucleus of musicians would go on to change the face of heavy metal. Throughout the 70’s Priest were responsible for helping trail blaze metal with such classic offerings as ‘Sad Wings of Destiny’ (1976) ‘Sin After Sin’ (1977) and ‘Hell Bent for Leather’ (1978) as well as one of the genre’s top live recordings ‘Unleashed in the East’ (1979) among others.
It was during the 80’s that Priest conquered the world, becoming a global arena headliner on the strength of such all-time classics as ‘British Steel’ (1980) and ‘Screaming for Vengeance’ (1982), as well as being one of the first metal bands to be embraced by the then-burgeoning MTV, plus performing at some of the decades biggest concerts (1980’s Monsters of Rock, 1983’s US Festival, and 1985’s Live Aid) and being the first to exclusively wear leather and studs – a look that began during this era and would eventually be embraced by metal heads throughout the world. Priest’s success continued throughout the 90’s and beyond with the addition of drummer Scott Travis, as evidenced by such additional stellar offerings as ‘Painkiller’ (1990) ‘Angel of Retribution’ (2005) and ‘A Touch of Evil: Live’ (2009) the latter of which saw Priest win a Grammy Award for a killer rendition of the classic ‘Dissident Aggressor’.
In 2011 new guitarist Richie Faulkner came in to replace the previous guitarist who had left in 2010 – the move seemed to have reinvigorated the band, as evidenced by a show-stealing performance on the ‘American Idol’ TV program that also served as Faulkner’s debut performance with the band (also in 2011 was the release of a new compilation ‘The Chosen Few’ which included Priest classics selected by some of metal’s biggest names) and the ‘Epitaph’ concert DVD in 2013.
Priest’s next studio effort would arrive in 2014 ‘Redeemer of Souls’ which was supported by another strong tour. In 2017 (and again in 2019) Judas Priest received a nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and got ready to unleash their latest studio album ‘Firepower’ (produced by Andy Sneap and Tom Allom) which received global success and critical acclaim. In 2020, a fully official and authorized photographic book, ‘Judas Priest: 50 Heavy Metal Years,’ was issued.
Few rock or metal acts remain as much of a must-see live attraction as Judas Priest. Having been forced off the road for over a year, Priest will soon make a most-welcomed return to metalheads coast to coast, with the 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour.

England-based post-metalcore quintet Architects have just announced a 2021 North America headline tour. The band will tour in support of their recently released ninth studio record For Those That Wish To Exist. The tour is set to kick off in Los Angeles on November 2 and will feature a festival play at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville. General on-sale for the headlining run begins Friday, June 11 at 10am local time. For more information, visit https://www.architectsofficial.com/.
For Those That Wish To Exist finds Architects tackling the biggest questions facing the future of our planet with their grandest, most expansive sonic offering yet building upon the band’s hallmark post-metalcore sound by layering a burgeoning influence of electronics and orchestral strings, horns and choirs. The result is a rich tapestry that transcends the limitations of genre and rewards exploration and immersion in its journey. The record’s 15-tracks hang in a limbo between energizing positivity that it is not too late to correct our collective course and paralyzing negativity of defeatism; where hope and despondency are bed-fellows triggered daily by the simple act of existence. A reflection of the human condition, For Those That Wish ToExist calls for all of us to rise to challenge established models and strive for a collective betterment.
The album debuted #1 on the Digital Album Chart, #6 on the Current Rock Album chart, and #80 on the Billboard 200. The singles “Meteor,” “Dead Butterflies,” “Black Lungs,” and colossal single “Animals” have amassed 58M+ streams and 18M+ YouTube views. Additionally, “Animals” charted Top 5 at rock radio.

One of the UK’s brightest young bands, Trash Boat, have today announced the release of their long-awaited new album ‘Don’t You Feel Amazing?’. Set for release on Friday, August 13th, 2021, pre-orders are available now HERE.
The quintet have also unveiled a brand new single, the LPs title track, today. Find the song on streaming platforms HERE.
Speaking on the release of new track, vocalist Tobi Duncan shares.
“Sometimes the most effective way to tolerate something difficult or painful is to numb yourself and learn to live with it. If enough time passes only the most intense elements of life can bring you back to reality and make you feel alive, the quickest way to achieve this usually disregards your long term health for short term bliss. This song is what I fight every day, it’s what I’m holding myself back from becoming, it’s hedonism, its drugs, it’s sex, it’s excess, it never stops and it wants all of me. This song is a way of living in that moment, like a roleplay, I get to channel that energy and be disgusting for a few minutes a set. We watch horror movies and want more gore and to feel more fear. We enter mosh pits and want to simulate violence. We take drugs to simulate happiness. I wrote this song so I could have all of this and more when I sing it. I get to control it instead of it controlling me.
And of the band’s forthcoming LP, adds:
“The album itself is unapologetic and candid wherever it goes. I’ve taken a far more direct approach lyrically and want to leave little to the imagination. We are exposed to so much of the world everyday now, to comprehend everything going on today is too much for any one person. It’s all inconsistent and overwhelming. Each song represents my frustration, desires, struggle, hedonism, pain and redemption while being bluntly honest about each topic.”
Today’s announcement follows on the back of the huge success of previous singles ‘He’s So Good’ and ‘Silence Is Golden’. The first, a landmark moment for the band both sonically and lyrically, tackling issues around the LGBTQ+ youth experience and singled out for praise by everyone from 6Music’s Tom Robinson to Spotify’s Global Head of Rock Allison Hagendorf, who championed the track on her flagship Rock This podcast. ‘Silence Is Golden’ meanwhile has enjoyed multiple weeks at number 1 on Sirius Octane XM radio in the US, fuelled by it’s undeniable bounce and signature, soaring chorus.
The St Albans outfit have also enlisted the help of diverse voices to complete their new album, with guest appearances from Hip Hop firebrand Kamiyada+ and Wargasm’s Milkie Way.

Trash Boat have long since established themselves as one of British rock’s most exciting, intriguing propositions. After their first EP drew a flurry of attention which led to a partnership with Hopeless Records the band have effortlessly blended punk rock and post-hardcore; shining melody and searing lyricism across two albums – most recently 2018’s critically acclaimed ‘Crown Shyness’
Having toured extensively across the UK, the US and Europe with everyone from While She Sleeps to Don Broco – including full runs on Warped Tour and a main stage slot at Reading and Leeds – the band entered the studio with Grammy nominated producer Jason Perry in late 2020 to begin the sessions for ‘Don’t You Feel Amazing?’
The band are scheduled to perform their biggest UK headline run to date in October of 2021:

VORAGOS: Destination Lunasea Beach is the creative partnership of Danny Wimmer Presents and Sixthman, merging the expertise of the best in rock festivals on land and the leaders of rock at sea. Like each company’s signature events, VORAGOS merges the signature world-class talent and unrivaled immersive festival experiences that each has become respected for throughout their decades in business.
“Although we’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a ‘rock cruise,’ there are others in the space that already do it really well. For DWP to do a cruise, we had to have something that would make our voyage uniquely ours. The opportunity to work with Sixthman and add a festival on a private island in Belize gave us the twist we were looking for and the comfort of working with a best-in-class partner like the Sixthman team. When else will you ever have the chance to see Rob Zombie and Chevelle on a private island with 3,000 of your closest friends? This is exactly the once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience that DWP likes to create for our amazing fans,” says Danny Hayes, CEO of Danny Wimmer Presents.
Anthony Diaz, CEO of Sixthman, adds, “Today’s announcement of the high octane lineup and highly immersive vacation experience showcases the commitment of Danny Wimmer Presents and Sixthman to curate the ultimate vacation for rock fans that includes days and nights of music and more at sea plus a full festival day on a decked out private island. The inaugural VORAGOS event will be a truly mind-blowing festival next February and for years to come!”The luxurious Norwegian Pearl will serve as the floating venue for this rock adventure. Guests will be able to enjoy Norwegian Cruise Line’s signature freedom and flexibility to enjoy 11 onboard bars and lounges, 15 dining experiences, a casino, one outdoor pool, hot tubs and a full menu of spa treatments.
Harvest Caye in Southern Belize is the Caribbean’s premier private island destination featuring an expansive pool with a swim-up bar, salt-water lagoon for water sports, exclusive 7-acre beach and exciting shore excursions ranging from zip lining across the island to snorkeling the world’s second largest barrier reef.

The Global Livestream event, debuting July 16/17 (depending on your global location), will remain available to fans worldwide to tune in through July 25 at 11:59 PM ET via video on demand. The band – Joey Belladonna/vocalist, Scott Ian/rhythm guitar, Frank Bello/bass, Charlie Benante/drums, and Jon Donais/guitar – will perform an extensive set of hits and deep cuts that will pull from the band’s entire catalog.
The countdown to July 18 began on May 3 with the ongoing, 11-week, online video docu-series presented on Anthrax‘s social media accounts. Posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, in the album catalog’s chronological order, each episode focuses on a particular album, with past and present band members, fellow musicians, colleagues, and industry veterans sharing behind-the-scenes stories of their interactions. Those contributing their personal memories include Kerry King, Robert Trujillo, Dave Grohl, Dave Mustaine, Gene Simmons, Henry Rollins, John Carpenter, Norman Reedus, Rob Zombie, Slash, Tom Morello, Mike Patton, Nergal, Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC), Michael Paulson, and Roger Miret.
“I was a 17-year-old metal-head kid from Queens when I started this band,” said Scott Ian. “I am a 57-year-old metal-head kid from Queens about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this band. That means for 40 years, I’ve gotten to do exactly what I’ve wanted to do – and getting to do what I love and being a part of something so much bigger than myself has made the time, the unbelievable weight of 40 seems so light. It’s been an amazing story so far, and I see 40 as a milestone that absolutely should be recognized and celebrated. Congratulations to us! I also see 40 as a stepping stone to the next chapter of Anthrax – we still have a lot to say and some killer riffs to unleash. I’m not going to say, “Here’s to 40 more” because nobody wants to see that (I’d be 97). How about, “Here’s to at least ten more, and we’ll go from there! Thank you for enabling me, my friends.”
