Between The Buried And Me Announce New Album ‘Colors II’

Between The Buried and Me built their influential 2007 album, ‘Colors’, on an unwavering commitment to artistic integrity. They’ve only fortified that commitment on its 2021 sequel, “Colors II” [Sumerian Records]. The circumstances surrounding both records bear key similarities, yet the North Carolina quintet—Tommy Rogers [lead vocals, keyboards], Paul Waggoner [lead and rhythm guitar, backing and lead vocals], Dustie Waring [rhythm and lead guitar], Blake Richardson [drums], and Dan Briggs [bass, keyboards]—once again stretch the boundaries of their signature sound and heavy music at large.

Especially with 2020, we really wanted to give it all we could and show the world we’re still here,” explains Tommy. “That’s part of the reason we named it Colors II. We were in a similar spot when we did the first Colors. Back then, we had just gotten done with OZZfest. We were wondering, ‘Where do we belong in this music scene?’ We still struggle with that. At both of these moments in our career, we decided to just be ourselves and write the best album we can. We came out guns blazing, and I feel like it’s some of our most creative material in a long time.

Colors was very much our attempt at a do-or-die statement,” recalls Paul. “We had to establish our identity and be who we really wanted to be in order to have a career. This time around, our industry was shutdown for a year. Once tours were cancelled due to the Pandemic, we were like, ‘We’ve got to write a record, and it’s got to be good’. We had to do something next level.

Within Temptation Drop Latest Single “Shed My Skin”

Heavy. That’s probably the first word that comes to mind when listening to Within Temptation‘s brand new single “Shed My Skin.”

“‘Shed My Skin’ revolves around dealing with inevitable changes in life,” says singer Sharon den Adel. “It is about becoming the person we are meant to be — even if that means losing people we love, but have grown apart from. Real growth begins where comfort zones end and that’s exactly what the song is all about: If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.”

Listen here

For “Shed My Skin,” the band has teamed up with German metalcore band Annisokay. The song thrives on den Adel’s melodic vocal lines, with Annisokay’s frontmen Rudi Schwarzer and Christoph Wieczorek adding another layer of soaring, heartfelt vocals. The end result is an absolutely bombastic metal anthem.

Wieczorek says, “Within Temptation is a band we love and have listened to for many, many years. You can imagine how stunned we were when they reached out and asked us if we want to feature on their next single — just because they love our music, as well! We’re beyond proud about being a part of this amazing song and really hope the people out there love it as much as we do.”

“We like to expand and broaden our horizons, and constantly find new music and bands that inspire us,” den Adel says. “Annisokay bring a super refreshing sound to the table, which we absolutely love. We are super happy that these talented guys wanted to join forces with us for our new single!”

“Shed My Skin” is the third single of the series of Within Temptation’s independent releases, leading up to an album.

The “Shed My Skin” music video of the song will officially premiere during Within Temptation’s digital show Within Temptation: The Aftermath — A Show In A Virtual Reality, set for on July 8 and July 9. Get your tickets to The Aftermath here

With the Worlds Collide Tour pushed back to 2022, the band remains productive by focusing on writing new music and is aiming to release more songs this year.

POWERWOLF Releases Cinematic Music Video “Dancing With The Dead”

2021 is once again completely under the spell of the wolves: With the announcement of their new studio full-length Call Of The Wild, the high priests of heavy metal – POWERWOLF – have not only stirred up the international scene, but their first single, “Beast of Gévaudan“, has also cemented their incomparable success.

The second single from the upcoming album is entitled “Dancing With The Dead“, and once again underlines POWERWOLF‘s indispensable skill for pure, bloody heavy metal and hooks that will stay in your head forever. The hit-filled four-minute track just screams for big stages and will not only captivate loyal followers but also new fans immediately.

Featuring Attila’s gripping vocals and irresistible riffs, the accompanying cinematic music video takes its recipient back to the past and once again also showcases POWERWOLF‘s visual strength! The video comes as a cinematic short film and stages a wild dance with the dead.

Once again created in cooperation with the honorable producer duo of Jens Bogren and Joost van den Broek, the masterpiece will open a new chapter in the band’s history on July 16, 2021. The eighth studio album will serve both old and newly recruited POWERWOLF devotees with well-known classic trademarks, and equally surprise and delight them at every stage of this wild 11-track ride!

Matthew Greywolf on Call Of The Wild:
“With Call Of The Wild, we are opening a new, exciting chapter in the history of POWERWOLF. The album sounds unmistakably like POWERWOLF and is so much more at the same time: Besides new territory like the Celtic instrumentation in “Blood for Blood (Faoladh)” or the ballad-like “Alive or Undead”, we have raised all our trademarks to a new level. Until now, we never sounded so powerful and wild – in the truest sense of the word. We can’t wait to finally share this beast of an album with you all!”

The first music video from the new album for “Beast Of Gévaudan” has already gained more than 1.3 million views on YouTube. Watch the outstanding video again here:

Call Of The Wild, the follow-up to their 2018 #1-charting studio album Sacrament Of Sin, manifests the band’s inimitable success story and proves once again that they sit unchallenged on the throne of the genre.

Formed in 1998, Thrice is widely regarded as one of the most innovative rock bands of their generation. Featuring frontman Dustin Kensrue, guitarist Teppei Teranishi, bassist Eddie Breckenridge, and drummer Riley Breckenridge, the Orange County-based four-piece made their debut with the 2000 album Identity Crisis. With later releases including their 2003 breakout The Artist in the Ambulance and a duo of concept LPs (2007/8’s The Alchemy IndexFire and Water and Earth and Air), Thrice took a several-year hiatus starting in 2012. Arriving in May 2016, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere proved to be Thrice’s most politically-minded yet vulnerable work to date. In 2018, the band followed-up with their most sonically expansive album so far in their 20-year-history, Palms. Co-produced by Thrice and Eric Palmquist and mixed by John Congleton, Palms encompasses everything from viscerally charged post-hardcore to piano-driven balladry.
