Shinedown Announces ATTENTION ATTENTION Feature Film

ATTENTION ATTENTION, the feature film experience of multi-platinum band Shinedown’s 2018 record-breaking studio album of the same name, will premiere worldwide on Friday, September 3rd. Available on digital and cable VOD via Gravitas VenturesATTENTION ATTENTION is available now for pre-order in the U.S. for $12.99, with an exclusive rate of $6.99 currently offered until midnight ET tonight (August 24th). PRESS HERE to purchase and PRESS HERE to watch the trailer.

ATTENTION ATTENTION is a visual journey that brings to life the story of Shinedown’s acclaimed chart-topping album, their sixth full-length, which has accumulated more than 622 million global streams, debuted Top 5 on the Billboard 200, simultaneously hit #1 on Billboard’s Alternative, Top Rock and Hard Rock Albums Charts, and led to five iHeart Radio Music Award nominations. From life’s lowest lows to the highest highs, what emerges from the forthcoming film is a powerful and enduring statement about humanity, overcoming struggle, the importance of mental health, not being afraid to fail, and the resolve of the human spirit. This stunning sonic and visual work of art was directed by Bill Yukich (Beyoncé, Metallica, Wiz Khalifa) and features theatrical performances from the band, Melora Walters (Magnolia, Big Love, PEN15), and Francesca Eastwood (Old, Twin Peaks, Fargo), among others.

“Miles Davis once said ‘If you’re gonna tell a story, tell it with some attitude.’ That is precisely what the film ATTENTION ATTENTION does,” shares front man BrentSmith. “A mind-bending free fall into the human psyche. A visual journey through the eyes of multiple characters, scenarios, and complex situations. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!!!”

“Visualizing each song from this amazing album, ATTENTION ATTENTION the film is a journey through the minds of its characters,” adds Yukich. “What starts as many stories ultimately becomes one story, one message, as the paths of each character converge.”

“I want to say a massive thank you to Slipknot, Disturbed, A Day To Remember, VolbeatGojira and Atreyu for immediately stepping in when we called them last week on such short notice. The last few weeks have been a wild ride, but these bands made it clear how much they want to be out there playing for their fans and will be ready to take the stage. We also talked to Metallica last week, who have confirmed their excitement to play our festivals in September, October and November. The road is going to be bumpy, but the team at DWP is undeterred and will continue to adapt to any road blocks. We are committed to putting on the rock reunion(s) we’ve all been waiting for. Keep On Keeping On,” says Danny Wimmer Presents founder Danny Wimmer.
Disturbed cannot wait to get back at it. We are beyond excited to share the stage with the legends and friends Metallica, Judas Priest, Volbeat, Mudvayne, Korn and so many others at next month’s Louder Than Life. See ya in Kentucky,” adds Disturbed.

And A Day To Remember says, “I can’t wait to play Rockville this year! It will be the first time in A Day To Remember’s career to play Daytona. This line up is not going to be one you will want to miss. So many amazing bands!“

Thank you for watching. Please subscribe on YouTube if you haven’t already (link above with the album review video). Every subscriber counts as we get closer to 100,000 subscribers. We will also be live every Sunday at 7PM EST on Twitch for New Music Night, where we play all the new music that dropped the past week in rock, metal, alternative, punk, etc.

Stay safe out there as well. Not sure if we are going back into a second shutdown or not, and with bands trying to go back on tour and now getting sick, it could spell doom for the rest of 2021. Here’s hoping for the best but in any case, just be safe and wear your mask.

Spiritbox Drop Video For Brand New Track “Hurt You”

SPIRITBOX have unveiled a brand new track today titled “Hurt You“, from their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Eternal Blue‘, set for release on September 17th on Rise Records. The band have also released an accompanying music video for the song which can be watched here or by clicking the image below. Fans can find “Hurt You” on streaming platforms here.

Speaking on the new song and its accompanying music video, Spiritbox guitarist, Mike Stringer shares:

“Hurt You is a song that was written before the pandemic, in early 2020 during a snowstorm.  We were stuck inside, and couldn’t go anywhere, so this song flowed out of myself, Courtney, and our producer Dan pretty quick. The subject matter of the song explores toxic codependency, and the feeling of knowing that something is doomed to fail, but making the choice to go down with the ship. The video, directed by Dylan Hryciuk, is horror inspired, and depicts love in four different acts.  It’s the first video we’ve made where we do not make an appearance, and allow the story to be the main focus.”

Spiritbox, one of the hottest new bands in heavy music, thrilled fans back in May with the official announcement of their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Eternal Blue’, which is set to drop on Friday, September 17th, 2021 with pre-orders available now by clicking here. The band sold out of all vinyl pre-orders within the first 24 hours of announcement and on-sale.

The band have released two new songs from their debut album this yearFirst single “Circle With Me” which charted on Billboard at #1 Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, #5 Hot Hard Rock Songs, #9 Rock Songs Core Genre, #12 Rock Digital Songs, #50 Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, #71 Digital Songs and has clocked up 10.7 million streams to date. More recently, they released “Secret Garden” which has clocked up 5.2 million streams since its release.

Prior to “Circle With Me the band released two break-out, hit singles last year – the heartbreaking and otherworldly “Constance“, which has clocked up 10.5 million streams to date and re-entered the Billboard chats last week at #1 Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, #4 Rock Songs Core Genre, #19 Hot Hard Rock Songs following the release of the very special reimagining of “Constance (Acoustic)” and the unrelentingly brutal “Holy Roller” which has run up 22.9 million streams to date and debuted at #25 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs and charted as the #1 song of 2020 on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal.

SPIRITBOX are scheduled to perform at a number of major festivals across US this year including:
Sep 9th – Blue Ridge Rock Festival, Danville, VA
Sep 25th – Louder Than Life Festival, Louisville, KY

Asking Alexandria Debut New Single “Alone Again”

Acclaimed British rock group Asking Alexandria just announced the October 1 release of their upcoming full-length studio album See What’s On The Inside. The announcement comes fresh off the news of their new global deal with Better Noise Music earlier this year, when they were signed by label president Dan Waite out of the company’s London office. The new album is now available for pre-order and pre-save across platforms HERE.

The band is celebrating the album announcement with the release of first single “Alone Again” today.A raw, emotional, introspective rock anthem, the single was co-written by all five members and offers a fitting first sampling of the full-length LP. Tapping into a renewed sense of creative energy, the band is more aligned than ever and rediscovered their love for songwriting and making music together during the recording sessions for this album. “Alone Again” and an extended “Intro” for the song are now available to stream and download across platforms HERE.  A striking lyric video for “Alone Again” is available to view HERE.

Of the single, the new album and the new chapter with Better Noise, founding member and lead guitarist Ben Bruce said, “‘Alone Again’ and the rest of this album is the result of us reconnecting and falling back in love with why we started this band in the first place. No frills or cheap tricks, just the five of us playing our instruments as hard and as loud as we can! At some point in our lives, we all feel lost and confused as to who we are and who we want to be, and I think this song will really unite all of us in that sense. We are so excited to share, not only this new song with you all, but our new album. We went back to our roots as musicians and really wanted to reignite that passion and love for rock and metal music. Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, AC/DC….all the greats that we fell in love with as kids have greatly influenced this new album and we couldn’t be more excited!”

As the band prepares to put this new body of work out into the world, reintroducing themselves as a creative collective armed with a new sense of clarity and purpose, they will also be reconnecting with fans on the road. Earlier this month, they were announced to join A Day To Remember on their “Re-Entry Tour” throughout North America. The tour kicks off on September 28 in Rochester, NY, and goes until November 6 in St. Augustine, FL. See full list of dates below. The band will also be playing at a select list of key festivals this fall.

New Headliners Announced For Riot Fest 2021

With Nine Inch Nails cancelling all 2021 tour dates, including this year’s Riot Fest, the festival is unveiling a wave of announcements bound to excite anyone planning on attending. In addition to three major headliner additions, festival organizers are announcing a second batch of Riot Fest Late Night shows this Friday, September 20, which will go on sale later that day.

Anyone who purchased a three-day or single-day Sunday ticket will now gain access to the festival’s Preview Party on Thursday, September 16, free of charge. Performing Thursday will be Morrissey, who will curate a selection of special guests to perform exclusively on Thursday. Plentiful vegetarian options will be offered by food vendors; Morrissey’s tradition of no-meat at performances will be honored across Douglass Park for the entire day on Thursday, September 16. On Sunday, September 19, Slipknot will close the night out on the Riot Stage, bringing one of the most iconic metal acts ever to Riot Fest for the first time.

Tickets for the Riot Fest Thursday Preview Party have, until now, only been available to those who kept their 2020 tickets for 2021; in a move benefiting local Chicago charities, tickets for Thursday will go on sale today at 12:00 p.m. CST, with all proceeds benefiting the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (additional charities to be announced).

“I got so excited putting together this Thursday lineup… we’ve never done anything like this before,” festival founder Michael Petryshyn shared. “So we wanted to open the gates to everyone in a fair way, while still respecting our loyal fans who received free Thursday passes for keeping their tickets through thick and thin. Giving Thursday’s ticket proceeds back to our Chicago community feels like the perfect win-win scenario. It makes our Thursday Preview Party feel extra special: it’s now a gift to our whole community, whether you’re there or not.”

These additions join a jam-packed lineup that includes Smashing Pumpkins, Coheed and Cambria, Lupe Fiasco, Run the Jewels, Faith No More, Dropkick Murphys, Pixies, Machine Gun Kelly, DEVO, Mr. Bungle, and a plethora of bands spanning genres. A limited number of single-day tickets are on sale now; refunds for Sunday ticket holders will be available for a short period of time, if they choose to not hold onto their ticket and gain Preview Party access.

DED Share Video For “Kill Beautiful Things”

DED have been turning heads as one of rock’s most promising newcomers since the release of their debut album Mis-An-Thrope, which racked up more than 25 million streams and spawned two Top 20 rock hits with “Anti-Everything” and “Remember the Enemy,” while “Hate Me” tallied 15 million streams across DPS.

Today, the band returns to capture the attention of the rock world and beyond with the visually stunning video for the brand new single “Kill Beautiful Things.” Watch it here

“‘Kill Beautiful Things’ is about the survival of compassion and love in the modern world,” shares frontman Joe Cotela. “And how you navigate the path of life to not succumb to the evils of humanity. Adopting a ‘fight fire with fire’ mentality. The song shines a light on our struggle to exist with a conscious mind and good intentions against an overwhelming current of negativity and strife. I don’t enjoy when I get pulled into the darkness of my mind, yet I cannot deny it strengthens me against becoming this person I don’t want to be. I do feel we all need to remind ourselves of the sacred place we come from to preserve our identity and remain on our path to our true destiny, as there are many false ones on detours along the way.”

The video was shot with director Marc Klasfeld in the woods of upstate New York while the world was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those circumstances pushed DED out of their comfort zone and they were able to craft a dramatically different and visually impactful video that’s markedly unexpected. The clip was co-directed by In This Moment’s Maria Brink.

The song is also the first written with guitarist Alex Adamcik. Cotela wrote all the vocals in his car in an hour after hearing the rough demo sent over by Adamcik and bassist Kyle Koelsch. “It’s extraordinary when that happens and the magic all flows to you in a moment,” he recalls. “With all of those unique elements happening, I’m so pleased with the result of a fresh sound for this track and the message of the video.”

DED will return to the road this September with In This Moment and Black Veil Brides. All dates are below.

DED’s sophomore full length will be announced in due course.

Tallah Release “Vanilla Paste” Music Video

Nu-Core sextet Tallah, one of modern metal’s most explosive and unbridled forces, have today dropped brand new track “Vanilla Paste“. The 6-minute-plus opus weaves an intricate and gritty journey, simultaneously paying homage to the band’s nu metal influences whilst further cementing the fact that there is not a band on the planet that sounds as fresh and uniquely unhinged as Tallah. The track features a plethora of high profile guest appearances includingAJ Channer (Fire From The Gods), Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin) and Garett Hood (Guerrilla Warfare) and is accompanied by an appropriately sinister official music video. Stream “Vanilla Paste here and watch the music video here or below.

Speaking on his band’s latest creative offering, inimitable frontman, Justin Bonitz shares:

“The song is basically about having bullshit forced down your throat, whether it is lies from the media, unimportant drama, abuse from a significant other, etc. “Vanilla paste” represents something you a digesting, which has no nutritional value or substance. It is just… flavoured paste. It tastes sweet and stimulates your senses, but it is not actually doing anything for you. You cannot survive off of nothing, and that is what that crap is… nothing. In this song, we have people who have been fed this “nothing” their whole lives, and they are tired of it. They are ready to make a change.”

Fire From The Gods vocalist, Aj Channer adds :

“Alex Snowden of Tallah and FFTG go way back to our first “signed” tour when she was in dollskin. I truly respect her evolution as a guitar player. When they asked me to be on this track I had to hop on. I respect what they are doing as a band. Looking forward to see how they fit into the new heavy sound. Peace.”

Garett Hood of Guerrilla Warfare comments

“Was flattered to be asked to hop on the track by cooper, he sent me the instrumental and I listened about 10 seconds in before sending back, “YEP. Lemme spit somethin on this FOR SURE.”
Honoured to be a part of such a wild track with some incredibly talented people. Side note: Tallah are some of the sweetest and most impressive live performing musicians I’ve met to date, go see em on tour.”

Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin adds

“I’m happy to be part of a song from a band who’s really pushing the boundaries of this genre. It’s truly a breath of fresh air.”

Having been locked down for the best part of 18 months unable to perform live, Tallah are a caged animal ready to be set loose on America. With their notoriously deranged live shows they have secured a host of major USA Festivals for Summer 2021 including Louder Than LifeBlue Ridge Rock Fest and Welcome To Rockville. Tallah will also be opening for Avatar on their 33 date North American tour in Sept / Oct 2021.

Tallah are currently in the studio recording their new album due to be released 2022 with producer Josh Schroeder.
