Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. The band’s current lineup comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, DJ/turntablist Joe Hahn and drummer Rob Bourdon, all of whom are founding members. Vocalists Mark Wakefield and Chester Bennington are former members of the band.  

Kiss is an American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss. Well known for its members’ face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid–late 1970s with its shocking live performances, which featured fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics. 

Emmure (/ɛˈmjuːr/) is an American metalcore band formed in 2003. The band’s vocalist, Frankie Palmeri (born 1986), is the only remaining original member and has been subject to some controversy over the years. 

Poison is an American glam metal band which achieved commercial success in the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s. The most successful incarnation of the band consists of founding members lead singer and rhythm guitarist Bret Michaels, drummer Rikki Rockett, bassist and pianist Bobby Dall and longtime lead guitarist and backing vocalist C.C. DeVille. 

Panic! at the Disco is the solo project of American musician Brendon Urie. It was originally a pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 by childhood friends Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson.  

Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Founded by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic, the band went through a succession of drummers, most notably Chad Channing, before recruiting Dave Grohl in 1990. 

Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. They were originally known as the Rain before evolving into Oasis, and initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar), and Tony McCarroll (drums). Liam’s older brother Noel (lead guitar, vocals) joined as a fifth member, finalising the band’s core line-up. 

Andrew Fetterly Wilkes-Krier (born May 9, 1979), known professionally as Andrew W.K., is an American rock singer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and actor. Raised in Michigan, Wilkes-Krier began his musical career in the mid-1990s performing in a number of local bands before eventually moving to New York, where he produced his first recordings under the Andrew W.K. moniker. 

Matt and Kim (sometimes stylized MATT and KIM) are an American indie electronic duo from Brooklyn, New York. The group formed in 2004 and consists of Matt Johnson (vocals/keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums). The duo is known for its upbeat dance music[1] and energetic live shows which often incorporate samples from other artists. 

Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million copies of their albums, and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. The current line-up consists of Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis. 

Dead Posey Release New Music Video “sorry i’m not dead”

Los Angeles-based rock duo Dead Posey have today released their latest music video for their track “sorry i’m not dead”. Prior to today’s release, the band dropped their catchy single “Russian Roulette” which has amassed nearly 165,000 streams and counting on Spotify alone. Speaking on Friday’s release, the band shares:

“sorry i’m not dead is declaring war against the patriarchy. It’s cutting down the things that say you’re only pretty if you look like this or dress like that. Expecting women to have perfect hair, perfect nails, a perfect face, and body. It’s pushing against the systems in place that call Dead Posey a “female” fronted rock band. No one ever says “male” fronted rock band – it’s just a fucking rock band. This song is about breaking out of the little box that a society based on traditional gender roles has placed around women for ages.”

Dream Theater Announce Rescheduled 2022 Tour Dates

Following the recent success of their 15th studio album A View From The Top Of The World, two-time GRAMMY-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans Dream Theater are announcing the rescheduled dates for the recently-postponed Top Of The World Tour. The dates will now kick off in Mesa, AZ on February 2nd and run 7 weeks before ending in Austin, TX on March 21st. The tour will also make stops in Los Angeles, CA; Quebec, QC; New York, NY and Dallas, TX among others and will mark the first live performances of music from the band’s latest release A View From The Top Of The World. Arch Echo will be the opener on all dates in the United States and Falset will be the opener on all of the dates in Canada. Dream Theater – comprised of James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung and Mike Mangini – was in the middle of a sold-out world tour in support of their last release Distance Over Time and the 20th anniversary of Scenes From A Memory when a Global Pandemic brought the world to a stop. The musicians found themselves at home with LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the group in the States. As fate would have it, they’d just finished construction on DTHQ (Dream Theater Headquarters) —a combination live recording studio, rehearsal space, control room, equipment storage, and creative hive. With LaBrie in Canada, he initially wrote with the band via ZOOM on a monitor in DTHQ. In March 2021, he flew down to New York, quarantined, and recorded his vocals face-to-face with Petrucci. The album ultimately threaded together lean and uncompromising hooks with tried-and-true technical proficiency.

Saint Asonia Cover The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights”

Hard rock band Saint Asonia, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, have dropped a new song and it’s totally unexpected yet makes complete sense. The band has shared its cover of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” Listen to Saint Asonia put their thoroughly unique spin on the hit song here.

It’s like a mashup of both artist’s sounds and it finds Saint Asonia fearlessly trying new things, while putting their distinct stamp on the track, making it their own.

“It’s always interesting deciding on a song to cover,” muses Gontier about how the band arrived at the decision to cover an R&B/pop artist. “In this case, I just wanted to do something that people wouldn’t necessarily expect. I mean, any way you look at it, ‘Blinding Lights’ is a GREAT song. It was fun to give it our flavor, and add our style to it. Also, both we and The Weeknd are Canadian, specifically from the Toronto area, so that made it even sweeter. We’re all pumped with how it turned out. It hits hard.”

Saint Asonia, who released their sophomore effort Flawed Design on Spinefarm Records in 2019, continue to work on new music, set to arrive in 2022.

Diamante Releases New Music Video For “Unlovable”

Undeniable rock chanteuse DIAMANTE has released her latest single and music video for “Unlovable”, taken from her sophomore album ‘American Dream’ (out via Anti-Heroine, DIAMANTE‘s self-established independent record label). She has previously shared smash hits such as fan-favorites “Ghost Myself” and “Serves You Right”, the beautiful reimagination of Goo Goo Dolls classic “Iris” (featuring Breaking Benjamin), and most recently “I Love Myself For Hating You”. Speaking on today’s release, DIAMANTE shares:

“Unlovable is about my deepest insecurity, which is my fear that maybe I am too hard to love. Everyone at some point has been made to feel this way because it’s easy to believe (after many heartaches) that you yourself are the problem. It was written in the middle of lockdown when I wasn’t out on tour playing shows every night, and I was finally forced to sit with myself and feel every emotion/memory I had been suppressing… and my fear of being unlovable was definitely a haunting feeling.”

With iridescent sapphire hair, a show-stopping voice, runway-ready fashion swagger, and an empowering message, the Boston-raised and Los Angeles-based Mexican-Italian-American siren brings a new (and blue) fire to rock and alternative music.

Diamante spent her teenage years cutting her teeth at local gigs on the Sunset Strip to become the powerhouse performer she is today. A disciple of both P!nk and Guns N’ Roses who doesn’t fall into rockstar excess or even sport tattoos, she devoted every waking minute to honing a signature “hard rock sound with a modern alternative edge.” This unique and undeniable approach caught the attention of Better Noise Music who signed her in 2015. Welcome To Rockville Announces 2022 Headliners

Fans in attendance during the Welcome To Rockville weekend – and those watching at home – were also the first to find out Rockville’s 2022 headliners, which have been announced as KISS (Thursday, May 19), KORN (Friday, May 20), Guns N’ Roses (Saturday, May 21) and Foo Fighters (Sunday, May 22). The full festival lineup will be announced in December.

“We knew we had to do something massive to follow the biggest Welcome To Rockville in history so we went out and got rock legends Guns N’ Roses, newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters, (you wanted the best, we got you the best) KISS and DWP’s most requested band, KORN,” says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “We’re looking forward to breaking records at THE WORLD CENTER OF ROCK with you, see you in 2022!”

Not only was Welcome To Rockville an incredible finale for Danny Wimmer Presents 2021 festival season – welcoming a grand total of more than 500,000 fans across four events – but Florida’s Biggest Rock Experience was also the final chance to catch two nights and two unique sets from Metallica as part of a unique partnership between the band and DWP for this year only.

In addition to playing a massive set of hits on Friday night, Metallica commemorated the 30th anniversary of their seminal Black Album on Sunday night by playing it in full, from back to front. To mark the conclusion of the band’s special partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents, DWP founder Danny Wimmer presented Metallica with a $25,000 check for the band’s All Within My Hands foundation.

Welcome To Rockville offered other memorable moments, including Slipknot’s final show date of 2021 where they played their brand-new song “The Chapeltown Rag” for the first time outside of Knotfest as well as a rousing headlining set from Disturbed that offered some of the band’s biggest hits. Lynyrd Skynyrd also gave a memorable final North Florida hometown performance after more than 50 years together while Gwar celebrated 30 years of their hit record Scumdogs of the Universe. As well, Mastodon played their first show since releasing the Billboard-topping new album Hushed and Grim while Welcome To Rockville host and Metal Ambassador Jose Mangin took the stage with Ice Nine Kills where he grimly re-enacted a lyric in the song “Hip To Be Scared.”

The weekend also furthered the successful partnership between DWP and Twitch that allowed fans to tune into “That Space Zebra Show” throughout Welcome To Rockville for exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content. The 1.2 million unique viewers that tuned in for over 10.9 million minutes throughout the festival were treated to performances by Staind, Cypress Hill, Disturbed, Rob Zombie and dozens more.

Daytona Beach News Journal said, “The massive, multi-day Welcome to Rockville music festival is already striking a loud, positive chord as a consensus tourism winner.”

And Pollstar called Danny Wimmer Present’s 2021 year a “strong comeback” after the pandemic, adding that DWP “is on the brink of successfully pulling off four major festivals in different markets, seeing some of its biggest crowds and giving many artists and fans their biggest shows of 2021.”

While Forbes added of DWP’s partnership with Twitch, which took on a large presence at Welcome To Rockville, “DWP & Twitch are paving the future for rock and metal music.”

Failure Announce New Album “Wild Type Droid”

Failure, the L.A.-based trio of Ken Andrews, Greg Edwards and Kellii Scott who’ve been dubbed “cult heroes” by Rolling Stone and hailed for their “jaw-dropping, visceral space rock” by Entertainment Weekly, return with their highly-anticipated sixth album, Wild Type Droid (Dec. 3, Failure Music).

A preview of the 10-song collection arrives with today’s release of “Headstand”. “The lyrics come from my earliest memory of spacing-out in my room when I was seven, trying to conceive of infinity and watching the dust falling through the bars of sunlight pouring through my blinds,” explains Edwards. “I had heard that a lot of that dust was made up of skin cells and that really stuck with me. It’s kind of a love song to those bizarre innocent moments of solitude.”

“To me, it captures a lot of the new musical approaches and techniques we were going for on this album, but somehow is still quintessential Failure,” adds Andrews. “We’ve been together long enough to know that some of our best ideas come directly from these experimental sessions. For this album, we simply cultivated that methodology for a much longer time than we have in the past. It brought out the trio aspect of the band. There was a feeling we could really push the individual parts further away from each other and let the more interesting and challenging combinations take center stage.”

Beeple, the American visual artist whose March 2021 NFT broke international sales records, lends his “INNERSPACE” to the album cover. “This feels like a good place and time to abandon the space iconography and theme once and for all,” Greg states. “In a lot of ways, this album feels like a return to earth. All minds have been called back to their bodies. There’s a lot to attend to right in front of us.”

Failure is Ken Andrews (vocals, guitar, bass, programming), Greg Edwards (vocals, guitar, bass, keys), and Kellii Scott (drums, percussion). Forming in early ‘90s Los Angeles, the trio have released five albums: Comfort (1992), Magnified (1994), Fantastic Planet (1996), The Heart Is A Monster (2015), and In The Future Your Body Will Be the Furthest Thing from Your Mind (a series of EPs released as an album in 2018). The group is considered one of the era’s most influential rock bands with Vice, in an all-encompassing retrospective upon the band’s return saying: “While many of their contemporaries became prolific by releasing an ungodly amount if materials, Failure’s [initial] three-record catalog is minuscule, but just as important in terms of content, style, and music texture.”
