Gold-selling hard rockers Of Mice & Men — Aaron Pauley (bass + vocals ), Valentino Arteaga (drums), Alan Ashby (guitar), and Phil Manansala (guitar) — are pleased to announce their seventh album Echo, out December 3 via SharpTone Records.
The album is comprised of the previously issued Timeless and Bloom EPs, along with the new and final Ad Infinitum EP. The EP will be released on vinyl in April 2022.
The full Echo album track listing is below. Pre-order the album digitally here. The physical pre-order will go live on Friday, October 22, at the same link.
The band has also shared the video for latest single “Fighting Gravity.” Watch it here.
“‘Fighting Gravity’ is about learning to let go, while also recognizing the impermanence and shortness of life,” says Pauley. “We think we’re in control of so much, but we’re really not, and that existential dilemma is at the foundation of the human condition.”
Of Mice & Men exclusive discussed the record and its unique, EP-driven rollout over at Loudwire. Read it here.
“Echo is a snapshot of the last year-and-a-half of our lives,” the band says, summing the album up effectively. “It covers loss and growth, life and impermanence, love, and the infinite — how the most wonderful and most tragic parts of the human experience are deeply intertwined.”
The Southern California-based quartet used their time spent in the 2020 lockdown, which was the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, in an incredibly productive way. They recorded all of the music on Echo during that time by working remotely via Zoom and sharing files. They had not been in the same room together since February 2020 and the start of the global shutdown.
The album was entirely self-produced by the band, and mixed and master by Pauley. Echo also includes the band’s take on the Crosby, Stills, and Nash track “Helplessly Hoping,” which closes out the release.
As is the case with all previous 2021 music drops, the artwork (pictured below) was designed by the iconic artist Derek Hess.
Des Moines’ rabble rousers, VENDED have today premiered a ferocious new single, ‘Burn My Misery.’ The track is another taste of new music from their forthcoming self-released 5-track debut EP, ‘What Is It / Kill It’, which arrives at DSPs on November 12th. The collection was recorded together with Griffin Landa of The Acacia Strain. Pre-order/Pre-save here.
The five-piece tell us; “’What Is It / Kill It’ is a collection of music written within the past three years that represents us. Your support means the world to us. The next generation is here, this is only the beginning. Welcome to VENDED!”
In live news, the band are set to lay waste to KNOTFEST LOS ANGELES on November 5th, then kick straight into their first ever US headline tour just a few days later, starting in Nashville on Nov 9th and wrapping in Buffalo, NY on Nov 23rd. Full dates detailed below.
Last month, VENDED dropped their incendiary debut track, ‘Asylum’ to wide critical acclaim, before playing a massive hometown show at the sold-out KNOTFEST IOWA event, which also saw sets from MEGADETH, GOJIRA, LAMB OF GOD, FEVER 333 and TURNSTILE among others, as well as a headline performance from SLIPKNOT.
VENDED‘s fresh and unique sound heralds a new era of heavy music and the arrival of the next generation of brutality. Formed in February 2018 by Cole Espeland (lead guitar), Griffin Taylor (vocals), Simon Crahan (drums), Jeremiah Pugh (bass) and Connor Grodzicki (rhythm guitar), VENDED showcase a barbarous sound built on foundations laid by the power and precision of the rhythm section, layered with vicious guitars, soul crushing solos and guttural-yet-melodic vocals portraying the hardships and harsh realities of life.
Stay tuned for more coming from VENDED very soon. In the meantime, catch them live at KNOTFEST LOS ANGELES or any of the headline dates below. US Headline Tour. Support comes from Omerta & Hazing Over.

Nikki Sixx is one of the most respected and recognizable icons in the music industry. As the founder of Mötley Crüe who is now in his twenty-first year of sobriety, Sixx is incredibly passionate about his craft and wonderfully open about his life in rock and roll, and as a person of the world. In THE FIRST 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx (Hachette Books; 10/19/21; $30; ISBN: 9780306923708), Nikki Sixx tells the inspirational story of his first 21 years.
Born Franklin Carlton Feranna on December 11, 1958, young Frankie was abandoned by his father and partly raised by his mother, a woman who was ahead of her time but deeply troubled, and who even dated Richard Pryor at one point whilst she was raising him. Frankie ended up living with his grandparents, bouncing from farm to farm and state to state. He was an all-American kid—hunting, fishing, chasing girls, and playing football—but underneath it all, there was a burning desire for more, and that more was music. He eventually took a Greyhound bound for Hollywood.
In Los Angeles, Frank lived with his aunt and his uncle—the president of Capitol Records—for a short time. But there was no easy path to the top. He was soon on his own. There were dead-end jobs: dipping circuit boards, clerking at liquor and record stores, selling used light bulbs, and hustling to survive. But at night, Frank honed his craft, joining Sister, a band formed by fellow hard-rock veteran Blackie Lawless, and formed a group of his own: London, the precursor of Mötley Crüe. Turning down an offer to join Randy Rhoads’ band, Frank changed his name to Nikki London, Nikki Nine, and, finally, Nikki Sixx. Like Huck Finn with a stolen guitar, he had a vision: a group that combined punk, glam, and hard rock into the biggest, most theatrical and irresistible package the world had ever seen. With hard work, passion, and some luck, the vision manifested in reality—and this is a profound true story finding identity, of how Frank Feranna became Nikki Sixx. And it’s a road map to the ways you can overcome anything, and achieve all of your goals, if only you put your mind to it.
Nikki’s band, Sixx:A.M, featuring members James Michael and Dj Ashba, is also releasing a single by the same name,“The First 21,” that is coinciding with the book launch on 10/19. The single will be one of five new recordings featured on their new Sixx:A.M. best of album entitled HITS, which will be released on 10/22 via Better Noise Music.
The HITS album serves as a companion piece to the upcoming book. Combining the work of a writer and a musician to offer multi-layered pieces of art, Sixx:A.M. previously released The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, which acted as a companion piece to Sixx’s best-selling memoir The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, introducing the concept of a book soundtrack into popular culture in 2007. Both the book and the album became instant successes upon release, with the book landing on the New York Times-best seller list in its first week, selling out in bookstores around the U.S. At the same time, the album spawned the #1 single “Life Is Beautiful,” while simultaneously receiving critical acclaim and eventually achieving Gold certification in the U.S. IGN praised its effectiveness as a concept album, writing, “[It’s] not really an album but rather a musical book. It is almost impossible to recommend any specific songs over others.”
Expanding this artistic signature move, The First 21 will now get its own soundtrack with the forthcoming HITS album, which is now available for pre-save or pre-order HERE.
Nikki Sixx is an international rock icon, founding member of Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M., three-time New York Times best-selling author (with The Heroin Diaries, This Is Gonna Hurt, and Mötley Crüe’s The Dirt), philanthropist, photographer, and addiction recovery advocate. Sixx had the #1 nationally syndicated rock radio show, Sixx Sensewith Nikki Sixx on iHeart Media, for eight years. In March 2019, Sixx premiered Mötley Crüe’s hit Netflix biopic, The Dirt, based on the band’s 2001 autobiography. Sixx has been a long-time advocate for expanding the support services for people in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). He has given testimony on Capitol Hill, made frequent media appearances to discuss his experiences, and authored op-eds on the subject in major publications. It is Nikki’s strong desire to help make a change for the better regarding what is our country’s most prevalent public health crisis.
UK’s VENOM PRISON announces the release of their new full-length album Erebos out worldwide on February 4th 2022. The band have also just shared the iconic cover artwork for the forthcoming album, which was created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor. Check out the artwork below and stay tuned for more news about new music.
“Being able to work with our dear friend Eliran on another piece of art for VENOM PRISON has been exciting as always. Kantor knows the band perfectly well to capture our music and poetry into a visual masterpiece every single time. ‘Erebos’ was a personal one for both Eliran Kantor and ourselves. This artwork captures the moment a young person dies inside as they are surrounded by horror. In the moment their innocence is lost and desensitisation will from now on fuel the repetition of the cycle of violence in their life. This is ‘Erebos’ the one born from chaos,” states VENOM PRISON.
VENOM PRISON has carved an uncompromising space for themselves over the course of two full-length albums, Animus (2016) and Samsara (2019), and with 2020’s Primeval, which reinvigorated the band’s earlier EP’s with two new tracks. What began as an explosive collaboration between Russian-born vocalist Larissa Stupar and guitarist Ash Gray (with the line-up rounded out by guitarist Ben Thomas, bassist Mike Jefferies and drummer Joe Bills) has exploded into a force to be reckoned with as vitriolic and outspoken lyrically as they are musically.
Don Broco have released their new single “Endorphins”alongside a brand new video. The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming new album Amazing Things, which will be digitally released on October 22nd via Sharptone Records. Fans can watch “Endorphins” here.
“Endorphins” is an unmistakable slice of Don Broco’s power, delivering yet another pulsating and infectious anthem. Overflowing with monstrous riffs, jagged synths, pummeling drums and a towering irresistible chorus, the track sees them blend their light and dark sides together.
The video is another brilliant addition to Don Broco’s catalogue of supremely inventive, creative and funny short films, with the band posing as shape-shifting super heroes battling masked villains in a martial arts, lazer-gun battle for supremacy… along with some awesome performance footage of them blasting out the track. “Power Rangers was without doubt my favorite show when I was a kid,” vocalist Rob Damiani shared. “When my parents actually went through with a long-threatened punishment of taking away the TV (I think because me and my brothers were fighting too much), it was the one program I was still allowed to watch on a Saturday morning, albeit on the black and white TV in my Dad’s garden shed. After an ENTIRE YEAR of this (still can’t believe my parents actually went through with it – pure evil) for Christmas not only did they bring the TV back, I also got the Green Ranger’s Dragon Dagger for my present!” “While writing ‘Endorphins’ as soon as the line ‘mighty morphin into a piece of shit’ materialized I knew I wanted to live my childhood fantasy in the video and luckily the boys were up for it! Huge thanks to Harry Lindley and Elaina Mensing for all their hard work and talent making it happen, as well as letting me use my original Dragon Dagger in the fight against Scorpion King Beckham! We hope you guys all love the video as much as we do.” The band also recently unveiled a stunning live orchestral version of “One True Prince”, filmed in partnership with Amazon Music at the revered Abbey Road Studios in London. The epic track is rocketed into the stratosphere with backing from the London Metropolitan Orchestra, enhancing all of its most enchanting moments to create a spine-tingling, mesmerizing rendition. Watch the performance here.
Always unique, and forever pushing boundaries, Don Broco are never ones to follow the trend and the new album Amazing Things is very aptly named. It’s yet another genre-bending masterpiece with electro, rock, pop, metal and more all wrapped up in their own unique blend, bringing to mind the likes of Deftones, Beastie Boys and Linkin Park amongst others… but simultaneously sounding like nobody else on earth.
Fans have been wildly enthusiastic about the singles released through the summer, with “Manchester Super Reds No.1 Fan“, “Gumshield” and “One True Prince” and “Uber” all being accompanied by spectacular videos that are as unique as Don Broco themselves.
Amazing Things is the band’s fourth album, and follows the release of 2018’s Technology, which was was a Top 5 album in the UK charts and has had over 100 million streams to date, and also 2015’s Automatic, which provided the band with their first Top 10 album in the UK. Unfortunately due to the ongoing supply and manufacturing issues currently affecting many artists, the physical release of Amazing Things has sadly had to be delayed until January 28, 2022. For full details on that, the band have issued a statement HERE. A ferociously good live band, acclaimed for their relentless high-octane performances, Don Broco have previously sold-out arena shows across the UK, headlining Wembley Arena after selling out Alexandra Palace as well as festival performances around the world including Vans Warped Tour, Download, Reading & Leeds, Slam Dunk & more. They have also toured with the likes of Mike Shinoda, State Champs, Dance Gavin Dance and Our Last Night in the US as well as selling out their very own Debut US headline tour.
The band will be setting out on a major headlining tour of the UK later this month which includes multiple nights in UK cities, featuring two shows at London’s Brixton Academy and ending with a special sold-out hometown show in Bedford.
Tickets for all of the upcoming shows are available here.

Enigmatic world music collective HEILUNG brought their ritual to a sold out audience of 10,000 at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, CO on October 5! Coming off the heels of this monumental event, the band is announcing their rescheduled tour dates for Europe and the UK, which will take place in 2022 and 2023. The correct and re-scheduled dates can be found below. Ticket sales are now live HERE and are expected to run low very fast. We therefore recommend purchasing them ASAP!
HEILUNG will be supporting their 2019 release, ‘Futha,’ which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Heatseeker charts and #4 on the Billboard World Music Charts, placing on a total of seven Billboard charts within the first week of its release.
Last year, HEILUNG shared their first ever music video for the Independent Music Award-winning song “Norupo,” which is taken from 2019’s critically-acclaimed release, ‘Futha!’ The video was shot at the Neolithic standing stones at Les Menhirs de Monteneuf in France. You can watch the stunning video at THIS LOCATION.
“Norupo” is composed around the ancient runic poem with the name ”The Norwegian Rune Poem”. The poem was preserved in a 17th-century copy of a now lost 13th-century manuscript and gives a complete description of all sixteen runes of the younger Futhark. During 2020’s Game Awards, HEILUNG announced that they will be working with U.K.-based gaming company Ninja Theory on the soundtrack for their upcoming game, ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.’ The announcement trailer for the new game features HEILUNG‘s song ‘In Maidjan,’ which is taken from their debut album, ‘Ofnir.’ Watch the trailer HERE.
In addition, they secured another video game collaboration with MY.GAMES and Booming Tech for the new season of the ‘Conqueror’s Blade’ video game, ‘VII: “Wolves of Ragnarok.” The trailer for the game, featuring the track “Galgaldr,” can be found HERE.
With lyrics recorded in Old Norse and inspired by Völuspá – a prophecy of Ragnarok from the Poetic Edda – HEILUNG’s atmospheric sound will immerse players in a dark new era for ‘Conqueror’s Blade.’ HEILUNG will also see their name being eternalized in one of the new combat map locations, which is now officially called ‘Heilung Fjord,’ and serves as a place for healing. More info on the game can be found HERE.
The band’s music was featured in a trailer for the final season of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ series. It can be viewed HERE.
HEILUNG’s music was also previously featured in season 10 of the television show ‘Vikings’. Episode 10 of Season 6 features multiple fragments of the tracks ‘Fylgija Ear’, ‘Hamrer Hippyer’ and ‘Alfadhirhaiti’. A snippet of the music use in one of the ‘Rus Army’ scenes can be found HERE.

Speaking about ‘Futha,’ BILLBOARD wrote, “Tracks like ‘Norupo,’ which is led by female vocals, is beautiful and melodic, and the choir and tribal percussive background of ‘Othan’ is trance-like.” You can read the full feature, which includes an interview with HEILUNG‘s Kai Uwe Faust, HERE.
Superstar guitarist and unstoppable force of nature, “Hurricane” NITA STRAUSS, has unleashed her brand new single, “Dead Inside” today, her first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed debut solo album ‘Controlled Chaos‘ in 2018. But this time, NITA isn’t coming alone. “Dead Inside” features her first ever solo collaboration with a vocalist and not just any vocalist, none other than DAVID DRAIMAN, frontman of Grammy Nominated rock icons, DISTURBED. Stream “Dead Inside” here and watch the official music video here or by clicking below.
“Dead Inside” is the kind of rare musical alchemy that can only be conjured by the serendipitous collaboration of two iconic hard rock powerhouses such as NITA STRAUSS and DAVID DRAIMAN. Itkicks off with NITA‘s inimitably intricate lead guitar work that as the intro builds, it begins to snake its way around the ground-shaking, head-banging lead riff as JOSH VILLALTA‘s technical and bombastic drums kick in. Then comes the unmistakable vocal prowess of DAVID DRAIMAN as he delivers his unique signature brand of enormously catchy vocal melody and a stadium-conquering chorus. The song ebbs and flows through sonic and emotional dynamics and culminates with a brutally heavy beatdown into a final rendition of the chorus, ensuring that the lead hook will be replaying over and over in the listener’s head for days.
Speaking on their history making collaboration, NITA STRAUSS shares
“This is my first time releasing my own music with a vocalist, and I am so honored to take this step alongside a legend like David Draiman. David’s voice and powerful lyrics took this song to a level I could never have imagined! And we are so excited to unleash this song on the world.”
DAVID DRAIMAN adds “Serendipity can be really cool. We’ve been friends for years. Nita sent me the track…I didn’t have time to work on it right away…then in literally a couple of days, while killing time in Santa Monica, the whole thing just came together. Incredibly proud of how it turned out and honored to be a part of it.”
NITA has been hard at work on her second solo studio album. More news to come on that soon.
NITA also recently announced that she will be hitting the road at the end of the year for her Winter Wasteland 2021 headline tour. The trek kicks off in New Orleans, LA on November 10th and hits a further 28 cities across North America, culminating in Angola, IN on December 18th. Tickets are on sale now (full dates and ticket links below). VIP packages are available here.
On October 29th, Whitechapel will release their new album, Kin, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the record, a video for the new single, “Orphan” (directed by David Brodsky // http://www.mgenyc.com/) can be viewed below:
Front-man Phil Bozeman comments: “‘Orphan’ represents the battle of accepting what reality has given me within the story of ‘Kin‘, and the battle between me and my alternate reality’s realm.”
The previously released clips for “Lost Boy” and “A Bloodsoaked Symphony” can be seen at: metalblade.com/whitechapel – where Kin can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:
– digipak-CD
– deluxe box set (hardcover box includes: exclusive dead gold marbled vinyl, dead gold marbled 7-inch single, 72-page photo book)
– 180g white vinyl (EU exclusive)
– clear sky blue marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 500 copies)
– black w/ white edge splatter vinyl (US exclusive)
– royal blue / black color in color vinyl (Newbury exclusive)
– electric blue w/ aqua blue splatter vinyl (Revolver exclusive)
– cyan w/ black splatter vinyl (US exclusive)
– white / cyan melt vinyl (US exclusive)
At this stage in the game, the name Whitechapel commands respect. Already sitting on one of the most enviable catalogs in contemporary metal, in 2019 they dropped The Valley, showcasing a confident evolution in their sound and standing as a true landmark release that sets a new standard for the genre. “To me, it was like the stars aligning for us to create our almost perfect record in regard to songwriting, vocal performance, the mix and master, and the artwork,” says guitarist Alex Wade. “We like to look at our albums as chapters of our career, and that is one chapter I will never forget. I think it really solidified that we can embrace a new sound, and if we execute it properly, then the fanbase is going to support and enjoy it.” In 2021, they return with that album’s successor, the mighty Kin, which is an even more dynamic and diverse collection, further advancing the band’s sound into new territory without losing sight of what brought them to this point. “I feel with every album, we learn what worked best on the last one and try to utilize that in our writing. Early in the writing, there was some discussion of the album being like ‘The Valley‘ part II, not literally called that, but in how the songs sound and flow through it. It’s very much a storytelling type record like ‘The Valley‘ was,” adds vocalist Phil Bozeman, “Musically, we just want to create what we vibe with at the given moment. We write music with how we feel and not what is expected of us, while lyrically the idea of continuing from the story of ‘The Valley‘ was always the goal.”
The resulting record explores a lot of sonic and emotional territory, and for the first time, it could be said that a Whitechapel record is as much a rock album as it is a metal one, an assertion Wade agrees with. “It’s still very much a metal album, but there are elements of the record that have more of a rock and open vibe. We really wanted these songs to breathe and have life and to sound bigger than anything we’ve made so far. We have explored more singing on ‘Kin’ too. It wouldn’t make sense to have the majority of the fanbase enjoy that sound and then shy away from it.” This is not to say that the band have lost their hardest edges, with the full-on death metal assault that kicks off both “Lost Boy” and “To The Wolves” as brutal and serrated as extreme metal gets, and while Bozeman explores his wide-ranging singing voice more, he also cuts loose with his trademark roar across the album’s eleven tracks.
Tracking of Kin was predominantly done at guitarist Zach Householder’s home studio with producer Mark Lewis producing his fifth straight Whitechapel album, making for a very comfortable working environment. “Creating records with him has an effortless flow to it, and we can track things pretty quickly and efficiently these days,” says Wade. “Mark has a great ear for giving us unique and complementary guitar and drum tones for the songs we are trying to record.” The tracks were then sent off to David Castillo at Ghostward Studios in Sweden for mixing, with Ted Jensen mastering it in Nashville, TN. Now, having another album they can be as proud of as its predecessor, it stands them in good stead as they look toward the future. “I see more growth and a limitless potential,” says Wade. “I think we found a great formula on ‘The Valley’, and we used that to create another monumental record for our career that I can’t wait for people to hear. We hope to continue to grow our fanbase with this new album, and always seek to move in a positive direction. I’m excited as the pandemic lessens for the touring world to come back to life and to be able to perform these massive songs we have created in the manner they were meant to be heard – live and loud.”

Grammy-nominated Lancaster five-piece AUGUST BURNS RED — JB Brubaker [lead guitar], Brent Rambler [rhythm guitar], Matt Greiner [drums], Jake Luhrs [lead vocals], and Dustin Davidson [bass] — have shared the brand new song “Vengeance.” Listen here.
“Earlier this year, we set out to write a standalone single that was fast, heavy, and concise,” the band says. “‘Vengeance’ is that song. It’s ABR at our most raw.”
Regarding the song’s incredibly current subject matter, ABR say, “The song speaks about how much meaner the last 18 months seem to have made everyone. There is a lack of compassion and understanding for others, and we should be doing all we can to bring that back into our lives.”
ABR are currently ripping through their Fall 2021 headline tour. The “Leveler 10-Year Anniversary Tour” features Fit for a King, Erra, and Like Moths to Flames. Get tickets here. The band also released Leveler: 10th Anniversary Edition. The band re-recorded its fourth album, which was originally released on June 21, 2011, with special guests, brand new guitar solos, alternate tunings, and more. Get it here.
