Dirty Honey and Mammoth WVH Announce North American Tour

Two of today’s most dynamic live bands, Mammoth WVH and Dirty Honey, are joining forces to bring their high-octane rock’n’roll out on a 30-date, co-headline North American tour. The “Young Guns” tour begins on January 21 and will see the bands alternating the closing slot. The artist tickets presale begins tomorrow at 10AM local, pre-sale password is YOUNGGUNS; the general on-sale starts Friday, November 5 at 10AM local: https://younggunstour.komi.io.

“We played one co-headline show with Dirty Honey back in September. As soon as the night was over, we knew this would be a great package to take across the US. We couldn’t be more excited to share the stage with them and give all of the fans an unforgettable night of rock music,” explains Wolfgang Van Halen.

Both of these “young guns” spent their summer on high-profile U.S. tours – Dirty Honey with The Black Crowes and Mammoth WVH with Guns N’ Roses. With only two live gigs under their collective belt, Mammoth WVH’s tour initiation was a baptism-by-fire, opening for the iconic Guns N’ Roses in stadiums. At the end of the tour, in Hollywood, Florida, Guns N’ Roses brought Wolfgang Van Halen back onstage to join them performing “Paradise City.”

After selling out their U.S. headline tour in June, Dirty Honey brought their sexy, bluesy rock’n’roll to amphitheaters with The Black Crowes. Vocalist Marc LaBelle grew up listening to the Crowes, so this tour was truly a dream come true. Winning over those who had primarily come to see The Black Crowes, Dirty Honey received standing ovations at the majority of the tour’s 35 shows. Not bad for a still-breaking, opening act.

The “Young Guns” tour is in support of both artist’s self-titled debut albums; Mammoth WVH and Dirty Honey, both released earlier this year. Both bands saw their debut singles – Dirty Honey’s “When I’m Gone” and Mammoth WVH’s “Distance” – occupy the #1 position on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. In addition, both bands’ debut albums made quite impressive bows; Mammoth WVH debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart, and Dirty Honey – the band, totally independent with no label affiliation – claimed the #2 position on that chart.

“People who come to our shows are going to see two bands who are looking to prove that rock’n’roll is definitely very much alive and well,” said Dirty Honey’s Marc LaBelle. “We both carry the weight of that on our shoulders, and there’s a lot to prove.”

John 5 Drops New Video For “Land Of The Misfit Toys”

Incendiary guitarist and solo artist, JOHN 5, dropped his brand new, cinematic music video for epic track, “Land of The Misfit Toys“. The new music video is set in 1980 and tells the tale of a young John Lowery who stumbles into a haunted house and becomes possessed by an entity. This entity gradually turns him into the guitar shredding, face-painted icon we all now know as JOHN 5. “Land Of The Misfit Toys” is taken from JOHN 5‘s brand new solo album, SINNER, which was released on Friday via Big Machine Records and is available everywhere now. Stream the album here and watch the new video for “Land of The Misfit Toys here or by clicking below.

Speaking on the new track and accompanying video, JOHN 5 shares:

“Land Of the Misfit Toys” is my favorite track on the record. It’s a real epic and the longest track on the new album. I was watching a documentary on David Foster and how he would produce, arrange and build songs which really influenced me on the arrangement and production of this track. The camera that was used to film the video for “Land Of The Misfit Toys” was the same camera that was used to film the new Matrix movie that is coming out in December, which is pretty cool. The video tells the story of the 10 year old John Lowery (played by my producer’s son), who stumbles into this haunted house and becomes possessed by an entity that causes him to start playing guitar and wearing the makeup. At the end of the video, he fully becomes John 5. everybody knows that I’m a big fan of horror so this was a really fun video to make alongside director Chantal Savage.”

Commenting on his brand new album SINNER and the incredible reaction to it, John 5 continues

“I’m so excited that the record is finally out. We had such a great time making it. I didn’t want to punch in with this record so each track is a full-performance. So if I started from the beginning and messed up, I would start again at the beginning until I got a great take all the way through. With a lot of time on my hands due to lockdown, I was able to really practice and focus on making the record the very best it could be. I’m so happy that the fans really love the album, because I do this for the love of the guitar and the love of music and without the fans, it wouldn’t be anything. So THANK YOU again to the fans. I will see you all on the road soon.”

As evidenced by the latest slab of sinister sounds, JOHN 5, who moved to Hollywood as a teen to pursue his rock n’ roll dreams, follows his artistic muse wherever it leads. SINNER is ten tracks of pure JOHN 5, summoned with the same mix of vibrant energy and passionate emotion beloved by fans of his work as guitarist for Rob Zombie, David Lee Roth and many more. SINNER is ten tracks full of hooks, melody, and thick guitar-driven groove. “Que Pasa” feat. Dave Mustaine was the first taste of what was to come from the legendary guitarist on his latest full-length. Since its release in August, the track has clocked up 230k YouTube views.

Avatar Share New Song “So Sang the Hollow”

The heavy metal ‘n’ roll dark madcap visionaries collectively known as AVATAR — vocalist Johannes Eckerström (vocals), guitarists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström, bassist Henrik Sandelin, and drummer John Alfredsson — are ambitious, Swedish rock sorcerers of the highest order. They are known to smash the boundaries between band, theater troupe, and cinematic masterminds with a series of celebrated albums and videos, and the immersive world of Avatar Country, a fantastical land where metal rules supreme.

Today, they have shared the new song “So Sang the Hollow.” Listen here and stream here.

“I think the song fits the season,” vocalist Eckerström shares. “‘So Sang the Hollow’ lives between a dream and our waking nightmares. It’s like a seance with ghosts of your own creation. It’s one of those songs that was a very long time in the making, with the main guitar part having been kicked around since I entered the workforce.”

He finishes with an important point, saying, “It also answers the question what Simon and Garfunkel would’ve sounded like if they grew up listening to Black Sabbath.”

Earlier this fall, Avatar went big and dropped two new tracks. They shared the official video for “Going Hunting,” directed once again by Johan Carlén, alongside the fan track “Barren Cloth Mother.”

Avatar also previously announced they signed to Thirty Tigers and have launched their own Black Waltz Records imprint.

Whitechapel Kin Album Review

A video album review on Kin, the eighth full album from Whitechapel. How does the venture into cleaner singing work with a staple band in deathcore?

10 Amazing Rock & Metal Performances On Conan!

“A Bloodsoaked Symphony”
“Lost Boy”
“Orphan”

What did you think of Kin? Do you think it’s a worthy follow-up to The Valley? I’m hoping several of these songs make it to Whitechapel’s live setlist when they go on tour with Cannibal Corpse in 2022. It’s also nice to see so many bands that have come out with good material in the later half of 2021 after time off the road due to pandemic. There’s most likely much more good music coming for the rest of this year.

Next month, I start work on Regretting The Past. Gross. There’s a ton of good music coming out and I have to focus on something bad from the early 2000’s. I make poor choices.

Whitechapel is an American deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee. The band is named after the Whitechapel district in East London, England, where Jack the Ripper committed a series of murders. The group comprises vocalist Phil Bozeman, guitarists Ben Savage, Alex Wade, and Zach Householder, drummer Alex Rüdinger and bassist Gabe Crisp. #Whitechapel #Kin #Orphan #Rocked #NewMusic #Deathcore

Boston Manor release new single “Desperate Pleasures”

Blackpool’s Boston Manor have today released their new single ”Desperate Pleasures.” The track features on a new EP Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures, which will be released this Friday, October 29 via SharpTone Records. “It’s a song about generational change,” says the band’s vocalist Henry Cox on the new single. “I think the pandemic brought out some good in people but it also brought out a lot of nastiness. I saw a lot of appalling behavior over the last 18 months & it made me feel quite depressed. As soon as people are placed under difficult circumstances they should come together, not start lashing out & taking everything for themselves. I guess this song is me hoping that things will get better.”

Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures marks a concerted step into the future for Boston Manor. It’s the coining of a bold, bright new sound, building upon the bruising pop-punk of their earlier work, the big moves of last album GLUE, to compose music that’s both heavier and more unabashedly accessible than that which preceded it. Hook-laden, coherent, blackly witty and with a molten emotional core, it’s the opening of a new chapter, hinting at even greater brilliance to follow.

That said, this EP did not come easily, at first. “We made this record just coming out of lockdown,” Henry says. “We’d tried to write throughout 2020 but nothing was coming out; everyone’s mental health was suffering – it was just a really frustrating time. And then, as soon as January this year hit, just like that all these songs started flooding out of us. It was a really great opportunity to exorcise all of the frustration & pent-up emotion of the previous year & really process those thoughts and feelings. It felt so refreshing doing an EP, with no expectations placed on us, we just went into a small studio in London & made really fun songs all throughout the year. It was such an enjoyable time; we hadn’t seen each other for 18 months & we’re used to spending nearly every day together. We really just fell back in love with being in a band.”

Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures incorporates five tracks including the new single and recently released compositions ”Algorithm” and Carbon Mono,” which was already inciting moshpits and scream-alongs at the band’s first shows back this summer. The collection sees Boston Manor tapping into teen influences of the late 90s – the Cardigans, the Cranberries, later-era Depeche Mode. They recorded their new material at Stustustudio, the Brixton recording location run by producer Larry Hibbitt.

Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures Tracklisting:
1. Carbon Mono
2. Algorithm
3. Desperate Pleasures
4. I Don’t Like People (& They Don’t Like Me)
5. Let The Right One In

The Podcast That Rocked | Content Creators VS YouTube

The Podcast That Rocked for 10/26/21 ft. Mark of Spectrum Pulse. Talk on the wild side of YouTube that content creators deal with and Mark’s personal nightmare over the past few days.

Content Creators VS YouTube
The Podcast That Rocked on Spotify

Spectrum Pulse’s Channel = https://www.youtube.com/c/SpectrumPulse

This was a special episode due to the ridiculous experience that Mark had as a victim to a serious hack as well as being victim to YouTube’s terrible copyright/bot system and auto-takedown program. As awful as the entire situation was, it definitely is not an isolated incident. The NFT scam hacked over 1,000 YouTube accounts and we still don’t know the direct severity of everything that happened. It looks like Google is directly going to look into this as it affected so many (including Mark).

As of now, the Spectrum Pulse channel is back online and hopefully will not have anything like this happen again. For everyone listening, please take precaution to secure your online accounts. It only takes a little bit of time and helps you tremendously to prevent hackers from stealing your info and sabotaging your work.

Reminder: This will be the last podcast that is dual-streamed on YouTube and Twitch. It will be live streamed only on Twitch going forward and then uploaded to YouTube right after.

DragonForce Goes Full 80s-Glam in New Video, “Strangers”

DragonForce has launched a new video for “Strangers” – a song from 2019′s Extreme Power Metal, and a tribute to everything 80s! Featuring Steve Vai‘s Whitesnake/David Lee Roth-era guitars, the band spared no expense in making this clip authentic, delivering the ultimate glam metal cheese. Filmed before the pandemic with a large-scale production, “Strangers” was directed by Roboshobo, in Los Angeles, CA, and can be seen here:

Guitarist Herman Li comments: “This video takes place in the same ’80s world as our last video (‘Troopers of the Stars’), with the same cast and the same director. When Roboshobo pitched the concept, I was immediately into it. I’m a huge fan of the glam rock-era of music – I love the showmanship, the guitar solos, and the endearing cheesiness. And the players of that time were amazing, like Steve Vai, Warren Di Martini, and Reb Beach; I think sometimes the playing gets lost, and people just remember the crazy outfits. So, this video is a loving tribute to that era – while also being authentic…

Roboshobo told us to get some cool-looking guitars to fit the theme of the video, and the night before the shoot, I was panicking because we still hadn’t found any. So, I texted Steve Vai and told him we were doing a glam rock video. He said, ‘come on over’, and when I got there, he had pulled out THE guitars he used with Whitesnake and David Lee Roth. I remember seeing these guitars in magazines as a kid, so it was incredible to get to use them on set – I almost cried when he handed them to me!

Besides the guitars, I think we all looked really hunky in our costumes, especially our hair! For a minute, I was even considering getting a perm…I know people may think we’re not taking ourselves seriously enough, but I think given the state of the world, sometimes it’s just nice to kick back and have a laugh with your mates. That was definitely the vibe on set – we could barely keep a straight face watching the playback.

We’re also releasing super-limited merch we did in collaboration with the artist, Teenage Stepdad, at: dragonforce.com/shop. It definitely captures the feeling of the era!”

To coincide with this video launch, DragonForce has announced a headlining North American tour for 2022, featuring Battle Beast and Seven Spires as support.

DragonForce adds: “We are so excited to be playing in the USA and Canada again. We’ve spent the last year and a half waiting to get back on the road to finish the ‘Extreme Power Metal World Tour’. We’ve also got some new surprises. DragonForce always says more is more, so expect an even bigger, crazier show!

We’re also thrilled to be bringing some incredible bands with us. Battle Beast gives an amazing performance every time, and Seven Spires is one of the best young bands out there. We can’t wait to see everyone in the crowd and at our VIP!”

See below for all dates! Tickets on-sale Friday, October 29th @ 10am local time. Extremely limited pre-show VIP upgrades are available at: www.dragonforce.com

Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators Announce New Album

A decade and four albums into their career, SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS haven’t been deterred by any obstacles in their path–including a global pandemic. SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS have announced today, October 22 they’ll release their new album titled 4 on February 11, 2022, via Gibson Records, in partnership with BMG. 4 is SLASH’s fifth solo album and fourth overall with his band featuring MYLES KENNEDY (Vocals)BRENT FITZ (Drums)TODD KERNS (Bass & Vocals) and FRANK SIDORIS (Guitar & Vocals). The album pre-order for 4 is out today, HERE.

A vibrant rock album fueled by memorable guitar hooks and compelling melodies, big choruses, and even bigger riffs; 4 builds on the legacy of SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS’ prior work. That sensibility comes through immediately on the opening track and first single, “The River Is Rising.” The group has unleashed “The River Is Rising” –today, to radio. Watch and share the official video for “The River Is Rising” -shot on location in downtown Los Angeles with Gibson TV director Todd HarapiakHERE.

SLASH describes the creation of the song “The River Is Rising,” “There’s two or three songs on the record that were written during the pandemic; everything else was written before. ‘The River is Rising’ was one of the last songs I wrote before we started pre-production, and because it was so fresh and has a certain groove and energy to it, it was the first thing we really attacked. It’s the newest song on the record, and as for the double-time part, that was something that I came up with and tagged onto the end of the arrangement. Then when we were over at RCA, Dave Cobb suggested we do it right after the breakdown. So, we went straight into the fast part, and I just started doing the guitar solo over it. It was one of those things where we were jamming around, trying to fish out the arrangement, and it just happened.” While MYLES KENNEDY adds, “The lyric ultimately explores how humans can be brainwashed or indoctrinated by some sort of dangerous idea. Once we shot the demo back and forth a few times, I personally felt confident that we had the album opener. To me, it’s an important track.”

For 4SLASH and the band traveled across the country together to Nashville, TN, and recorded the new album at the historic RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, John Prine, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile), revealing a stunning new sound and style all captured live in the studio. Cobb shared the band’s desire to lay down the tracks live, in the studio including guitar solos and vocals–a first for the group. The band’s previous albums over the last decade Apocalyptic Love, World on Fire, and Living The Dream have continued on an upward trajectory, all achieving Top 5 Billboard charting debuts in the U.S. and reaching the Top 10 on 12 major charts across the globe. To date, the three SMKC albums have now garnered 10 consecutive Top 5 Radio singles, spawned sold-out world tours, and have earned SLASH and the band the best critical acclaim of their career with their latest album Living The Dream (2018) singled out by the Los Angeles Times, Classic Rock, Guitar World, Loudwire, LA Weekly, and more, as their best songs to date.

Today, the band has launched a DSP and physical pre-order in the following formats for 4, including a Deluxe Vinyl Box Set featuring a vinyl gatefold jacket in four colors (Black, Red, Blue, and Purple), randomly distributed inside a mirrored O-card. Each vinyl is 140g black vinyl and comes with a guitar pick, an Axe Heaven Custom Limited Edition 4 Slash Les Paul Mini-Guitar, CD softpack in one of the four colors above (also random), the O-card and a guitar pick, a Cassette Tape featuring an exclusive 4-song live rehearsal titled “Live Rehearsal Tape 5/28/21,” a 36-page photobook including an SMKC interview and handwritten lyrics, an embroidered sew-on patch, a Signed Lithograph (limited to the first 500 copies) and a pick tin with 4 custom SLASH guitar picks. A Deluxe CD Box Set, a full album Cassette Tape, and Standard Vinyl and CD packages are also available. To view the full variety of 4 album packages available, go to: http://www.slashonline.com.

Arch Enemy Launches Video for New Single “Deceiver, Deceiver”

Today (October 21st), metal legends Arch Enemy will launch a stunning video for a new standalone single, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen: “Deceiver, Deceiver” – the band’s first original release since 2017’s acclaimed Will To Power! Directed by Patric Ullaeus, the video premiere for “Deceiver, Deceiver” is set for 9AM PT//12PM ET//6PM CET today and can be streamed HERE. The new track is now available worldwide and can be checked out via this LINK.

Arch Enemy‘s founder and chief songwriter Michael Amott comments: “Wait…what? Has it really been four years since we last released new Arch Enemy music? Time flies…especially when you tour the world for a couple of years, decide to take some time off…and then we all get hit with a global fckn pandemic! Everyone’s been through hard times these last couple of years, and it’s beautiful to see everything coming back now. This very much feels like the right moment to return with a brand new song, ‘Deceiver, Deceiver’! Not the happiest of tunes, but believe me – we’re ecstatic to be back!”

Time passes, the world changes, but some things remain constant and unassailable. Heavy metal has endured for more than four decades because its spirit is eternal, and few bands embody the intensity, integrity and lofty artistic ambitions of the genre with more dazzling aplomb than Arch Enemy. In 2021, the quintet returns with “Deceiver, Deceiver” – a standalone single that proves once again that Arch Enemy are torchbearers, upholding and celebrating the heavy metal code.
