Top 5 WORST Albums Of 2021

While 2021 had a ton of great music released, there was also some trash. This video takes a look at the Top 5 Worst Albums Of 2021.

Top 5 Worst Albums Of 2021

Watch the video above for the breakdown or
check out a brief description of each album below.

5.) Black Veil Brides – The Phantom Tomorrow

The Phantom Tomorrow offers nothing you haven’t heard before, and I think even the diehard fans swooning for their man in black would agree that NOTHING is worth hearing a second time, especially since every song sounds the same. You can tell they have all the pieces there to do many different things but would rather hang it up than you know…try.

4.) Escape The Fate – Chemical Warfare

Chemical Warfare is not an enjoyable album, it’s not cathartic, if anything, it’s a group refusing to grow up. Add all the additional instruments and elements you want but the core content is still poor. This is an example of stock scene music and the band is now at the stage of pandering. Also, LINDSEY STIRLING WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THEM! THEY PEAKED WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL DETENTION!

3.) The Offspring – Let The Bad Times Roll

“The Offspring made dumb, simple music 20 years ago, why can’t they do it now?!” some of you might be saying. That music was unique at the time and was fun to listen to. Let The Bad Times Roll is a glorified college band’s attempt to sound funny and pop-punk at the same time…but it’s from musicians in their mid-late 50’s. This should album should have been delayed longer.

2.) NOFX – Single Album

Through all the controversies over the years, it turns out that what’s going to end NOFX isn’t their antics, it’s the band running out of ideas and not being able to deliver or perform the way they used to. After hearing what Single Album has to offer, I can’t help but think that this is a group desperate to still be seen as young antagonizing punks. It never once comes off as believable.

1.) A Day To Remember – You’re Welcome

You’re Welcome proved that A Day To Remember tried to cash in on a few fads as well as phone in some anger. All of which was very transparent and proved that this is an album that should have stayed delayed even longer or completely shelved. They were chasing the trend and doing what the label wanted. The band didn’t take a swing and a miss, they swung, lost grip of the bat, and the bat him their fans sitting in the stands. I never thought I would have to put ADTR as having the worst album of the year, but here we are.

Starset Expand Horizons In St. Louis

After taking a day off in the Gateway To The West and band members attending a St. Louis Blues victory, Starset held a demonstration on a rainy night in Delmar Hall. Dustin Bates told the sold-out crowd that this was the band’s first time back to St. Louis post-pandemic and how this tour was technically promoting two albums: 2019’s Divisions and 2021’s Horizons.

Starset – Horizons

With so much new music to promote and an expanded live set (the band now increasing to seven people on stage), It feels like Starset are determined to expand their horizons with their overall presentation. It worked. Delmar Hall featured one of the the best light and stage setups that the venue has had in years thanks to Starset’s performance.

Featuring The Word Alive and All Good Things, this Friday night show was something special for the city. With the world re-opening, St. Louis venues are getting more bands touring through the city which is dramatically helping the rest of the nation realize that there is a vast music fanbase that has grown in St. Louis over the years.

Starset has also grown over the years. The fans that have been listening since Transmissions have noticed just how much more evolved the music has become. Hearing hits from the band’s discography showed how much Starset has accomplished in a relatively short amount of time. Starset are finishing their tour promoting Horizons. Here’s hoping they continue to expand those horizons in 2022.

VRSTY Get “Closer” With Brand New Song

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced “Varsity“) — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have shared the new song “Closer.” Listen here.

“Closer” is another banger from the band, with thunderous riffs led by Varela’s smooth, R&B-inspired vocal styles and unshakeable melodies. The song explores the notion of wanting to get to know that person you meet and can’t get out of your head.

“‘Closer’ literally came out of nowhere,” Varela recalls. “It started as just a fun idea to get our creative juices flowing in the studio and ended up becoming its own thing. It’s definitely one of the more different songs on the record. Lyrics-wise, it’s also one of the easiest songs to connect to — if you’re an adult, that is!”

Welcome Home is the band’s debut full length for the label and follows last year’s breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles “Shameless” and “Massive.” The latter was the most played on SiriusXM’s Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020. VRSTY have perfected their seamless and fearless cross-pollination of metallic grooves and R&B-influenced, after midnight vocal swagger on this 14-track offering. VRSTY aren’t just offering their own take on a genre; they have authored a fusion style that is entirely their own.

Welcome Home is an incredibly personal album to me,” Varela shares. “I know everybody says that, and hey, maybe they’re not lying when they do. I sure as hell am not. It was definitely a task, at first, trying to figure out how to phrase or sing something without getting too personal. But somewhere along the way, I threw that idea out the window and decided to say exactly what I felt. You won’t find me trying to sound cool or using any fancy wordplay. It’s just me in my rawest form, saying exactly what I’ve felt or experienced over the years, which is what has made me who I am today. I think if anybody ever wants to get to know me, this record will give you everything you need to know. No secrets. Just me.”

“Paranoid”
“Never Again”
“We, Always”

Dropkick Murphys Release Music Video For “Good As Gold”

Dropkick Murphys have just released a music video for “Good As Gold” from their Turn Up That Dial album. The clip was directed by Dave Staubleof Punchdance Studios and includes an up-close-and-personal DKM performance, along with a brief cameo by the beloved puppets of Punchdance Studios.

Good As Gold” celebrates the music that shaped the band. It’s about the precious vinyl albums we all listen to, collect, and cherish – and the video shows how that music connects fans through generations. Co-lead vocalist Ken Casey explains, “It’s about the important role music has played in our lives. The outside world may be going on. Boom, you put your headphones on, drop the needle, and nothing else matters. It’s about how much hope I’ve gotten from music, all of the inspiration, and the way it’s helped me take my frustrations out.”

Dropkick Murphys recently announced the return of their traditional St. Patrick’s Day Tour for 2022 and have now expanded the lineup to include Boston-based Jesse Ahern opening each show. As previously announced, the month-long trek kicks off February 21, culminating with the band’s customary run of St. Patrick’s Day week hometown shows in Boston, and will also feature support acts The Bombpops and The Rumjacks on most dates. Jim Lindberg of Pennywise is confirmed as a special guest for the final show on March 20 at Roadrunner (Boston’s newest concert venue), performing in support of his recently released Ted Hutt-produced solo album Songs From the Elkhorn Trail.

Tickets are on sale now at www.DropkickMurphys.com.

The return of Dropkick Murphys’ St. Patrick’s Day Tour follows back-to-back years of widely-viewed and highly-acclaimed livestreamed Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day concerts: 2020’s Streaming Up From Boston and 2021’s Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day Stream 2021…Still Locked Down, which topped Pollstar’s Livestream Chart.

Along with Streaming Outta Fenway in 2020 – the first-ever concert performed on the hallowed infield of Boston’s Fenway Park – and the band’s Turn Up That Dial Album Release Party in 2021, these four free livestreamed concerts (with no in-person audience) were watched over 17 million times, raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for DKM’s charity The Claddagh Fund and other nonprofits, and were featured on CBS This Morning Saturday, CNN, NBC Nightly News, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and many more.

From August through mid-October of 2021, Dropkick Murphys returned to the road for their first live shows since the pandemic began, touring the U.S. with Rancid onthe co-headlining Boston To Berkeley II Tour, which also featured performances at Riot Festin Chicago and Aftershockin Sacramento.

Dropkick Murphys’ latest album, Turn Up That Dial, released April 30 via DKM’s own Born & Bred Records, is their tenth studio album, and fourth consecutive Billboard top 10 album debut, joining 11Short Stories Of Pain & Glory (2017), Signed and Sealed in Blood (2013), and Going Out In Style(2011). Overall,Dropkick Murphys’ music has generated half a billion streams, they’ve quietly moved 8 million-plus units worldwide and the band has sold out gigs on multiple continents.

Last year, HEILUNG shared their first ever music video for the Independent Music Award-winning song “Norupo,” which is taken from 2019’s critically-acclaimed release, ‘Futha!’ The video was shot at the Neolithic standing stones at Les Menhirs de Monteneuf in France. You can watch the stunning video at THIS LOCATION.

“Norupo” is composed around the ancient runic poem with the name ”The Norwegian Rune Poem”. The poem was preserved in a 17th-century copy of a now lost 13th-century manuscript and gives a complete description of all sixteen runes of the younger Futhark.

During 2020’s Game Awards, HEILUNG announced that they will be working with U.K.-based gaming company Ninja Theory on the soundtrack for their upcoming game, ‘Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.’ The announcement trailer for the new game features HEILUNG‘s song ‘In Maidjan,’ which is taken from their debut album, ‘Ofnir.’ Watch the trailer HERE.

In addition, they secured another video game collaboration with MY.GAMES and Booming Tech for the new season of the ‘Conqueror’s Blade’ video game, ‘VII: “Wolves of Ragnarok.” The trailer for the game, featuring the track “Galgaldr,” can be found HERE.

With lyrics recorded in Old Norse and inspired by Völuspá – a prophecy of Ragnarok from the Poetic Edda – HEILUNG’s atmospheric sound will immerse players in a dark new era for ‘Conqueror’s Blade.’ HEILUNG will also see their name being eternalized in one of the new combat map locations, which is now officially called ‘Heilung Fjord,’ and serves as a place for healing. More info on the game can be found HERE.

The band’s music was featured in a trailer for the final season of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ series. It can be viewed HERE.

HEILUNG’s music was also previously featured in season 10 of the television show ‘Vikings’. Episode 10 of Season 6 features multiple fragments of the tracks ‘Fylgija Ear’, ‘Hamrer Hippyer’ and ‘Alfadhirhaiti’. A snippet of the music use in one of the ‘Rus Army’ scenes can be found HERE.

In 1994, Sevendust first forged a familial tie amongst each other that translated into one of the most diehard audiences in the game. To this day, the connection between fans and the GRAMMY® Award-nominated gold-certified hard rock outfit only grows stronger. A trifecta of now-classic gold albums—Sevendust [1997], Home [1999], and Animosity [2001]— ignited their journey. Known as an equally intense and unforgettable live force, they’ve consistently packed houses around the world and decimated stages everywhere from Rock on the Range and Woodstock to OZZfest and Shiprocked! 2015’s Kill The Flaw represented a high watermark. Bowing at #13 on the Billboard Top 200, it scored their highest debut on the respective chart since 2010 and marked their fifth consecutive Top 10 on the Top Rock Albums Chart and third straight Top 3 on the Hard Rock Albums Chart. Most impressively, the lead single “Thank You” garnered a nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance” at the 2016 GRAMMY® Awards, a career first. All I See Is War continued the band’s success debuting at #28 on the Billboard 200 and has become a favorite among critics and fans alike thanks to singles like “Dirty,” “Medicated” and “Risen.” The original release of Blood & Stone continued the band’s success landing at #1 on the Hard Music and Top Albums ADA and #9 on the Top Billboard Albums chart backed by the singles “Dying To Live,” “Blood From A Stone” and the cover of Soundgarden’s “The Day I Tried To Live.”
