Placebo return to North America this Fall for their first trek across the continent in eight years.
The long-awaited dates see the band venture through Canada, Mexico, and the United States, including performances at the iconic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. Tickets are on-sale this Friday at 10 am local time (Mexico City is on-sale now).
The iconic duo of Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal recently announced their eighth studio album, Never Let Me Go (March 25, Rise Records). The 13-song collection, the pair’s first since 2013’s Loud Like Love, grapples with humanity’s multiple crises, from “Beautiful James,” a stirring anthem for non-heteronormative relationships, to “Surrounded By Spies,” an observation on tech-saturation, “Try Better Next Time,” a track that is both a statement on climate calamity and a poetic hope for the future, and the final preview of the album: “Happy Birthday In The Sky,” a moving ode to those who are no longer with us.
“I wanted to capture the confusion of what it’s like to be alive today,” explained Molko of the impetus behind Never Let Me Go, “the feeling of being lost, always walking in a labyrinth, continuously being overwhelmed by information and opinions.”
Never Let Me Gopre-orders are available now with the collection available on limited-edition 2LP red vinyl (indie retail exclusive), pink 2LP vinyl (web exclusive), standard black 2LP vinyl, cassette (a variety of limited-edition colors), and digitally.

Today critically acclaimed bands NOTHING MORE and Asking Alexandria announced a co-headlining North American tour starting this spring, produced by Live Nation. Meanwhile, Asking Alexandria will perform new music from their latest critically acclaimed album See What’s On The Insideand companion EP Never Gonna Learn, both from Better Noise Music. The album’s first single “Alone Again,”gave the band their first-ever #1 at U.S. radio, with the song also debuting to the band’s best streaming performance for the first month period in August. The second single, “Never Gonna Learn,” is on track to continue that success, already Top 15 at U.S. radio. Fans will be able to purchase tickets for the tour starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8 for the Citi and Artist presales, Wednesday, March 9 for the Live Nation and Ticketmaster presales, Thursday, March 10 for the venue and local presales, and Friday, March 11 for the Citi Preferred and general on sale. All ticket sale times begin at 10AM local time. For more information on the tour, visit http://nothingmore.net/ and https://www.askingalexandria.com.
Eager to connect with fans on the road in 2022, Asking Alexandria founding member Ben Bruce stated, “This spring and summer we are finally getting back to doing what we love. We are finally hitting the road again and we will be bringing our biggest stage show yet with us. Asking Alexandria and our friends in NOTHING MORE will be teaming up and co-headlining across North America alongside Atreyu and Eva Under Fire. We have missed playing for you all so much and we can’t wait to get back out there and see you all. We will be playing songs from the very beginning of our career all the way through to our latest album See What’s On the Inside. See you all soon.”
In 2017, NOTHING MORE released The Stories We Tell Ourselves, which received critical acclaim and three Grammy Award nominations for Best Rock Album, and Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for “Go to War”. Having topped Billboard’s US Mainstream Rock Songs Chart, “Go to War” has amassed more than 60 MILLION streams across streaming platforms. The Stories We Tell Ourselves has seen more than 156 MILLION streams, according to Spotify, and was ranked as the second best hard rock album of 2017 by Loudwire. On returning to the stage and today’s announcement, NOTHING MORE’s Jonny Hawkins said, “We have been in a dark cocoon of our inner most thoughts and feelings for 2 damned years … shifting, shaping and transforming into a creature filled with terrible power and an unregulated lust for energy. This is going to be our greatest album yet… and this tour with Asking Alexandria is just the beginning. Be ready America.”
Detroit-based, female-fronted rock band Eva Under Fire, who are set to open the tour, recently released “Unstoppable”, a passion-filled track about an untouchable love, ahead of their Better Noise Music label debut album Love, Drugs & Misery, available for pre-order now. It followed three previously released songs from the album – “Blow (Featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills)”, “Comatose (Featuring Jonathan Dörr of Ego Kill Talent)”,and “Heroin(e)” – which gave a dynamic preview of the forthcoming project, spanning from anthemic and aggressive to heartbreakingly vulnerable, in both sound and lyrics.

Ever since reviewing Tremonti’s latest studio release, Marching In Time last September, I’ve been waiting with bated breath for the Dearly Beloved Tour to come rolling through The Wellmont Theater.
And that’s just what it did.
Featuring headliners Daughtry with support by Tremonti and Lyell, the tour swept into Montclair NJ this past Wednesday, March 2nd and was greeted by a packed house. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed in the few shows I’ve had the pleasure to cover since live music started to make its comeback, is that fans are getting to the venues much earlier than they used to pre-pandemic. Opening bands are paying to mostly-crowded houses, people are engaging with the artists and just having a damn good time.
Newcomers Lyell kicked off the night with a short but sweet 30-minute set of high energy rock n’ roll. Frontwoman Alyssa Coco did a phenomenal job engaging the crowd, who for the most part were not familiar with the band, but ultimately that did not seem to matter. I would not be surprised if we start hearing from Lyell much more after this tour. They have a great vibe and a really accessible rock sound that will go over well with many fans.
Shortly before 8pm, Tremonti took the stage and the excitement was palpable. Mine included. Having seen Tremonti before, I knew I was in for another banger of a show, but the real thrill was hearing the new material live for the first time. The band kicked it right off with “Thrown Further” and “If Not For You” from Marching in Time, saving the title track for the midway point in the 8-song set. Mark Tremonti and Eric Friedman’s technical guitar work was flawless and soaring. Bassist Tanner Keegan and drummer Ryan Bennett provided a matching unrelenting beat that was felt right in the gut, in the best way. Ever listen to an album and think, “This will sound absolutely freakin’ amazing live?” Yeah. It was that kind of night.
Headliner Daughtry kicked off its iconic set shortly before 9pm. Backed by an incredible lighting production, the band truly soared through its 14-song set. Having had no previous live-show experience with the band, I was pleasantly surprised by the energy and incredible vocal range on the part of Chris Daughtry throughout the entire night. With a set consisting mostly of new material from Dearly Departed, Daughtry kept the crowd on their feet and engaged through high energy tracks like “Changes are Coming,” and “World on Fire” to the short acoustic performance of “Home” and heartbreaking “Cry for Help.” It’s certainly made me look up Dearly Departed to have a good listen without the distraction of photographing the show. I’m sold and totally recommend you check out the album for yourself, and if you can, definitely grab yourself a ticket to this tour. You won’t regret it.

THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT, the musical meeting of minds between Grammy-nominated STONE SOUR guitarist, Josh Rand and PARALANDRA vocalist/guitarist Casandra Carson, are set to release a new 4-track EP, titled ‘Big F.O.U.R.’ on March 18th via Bloodblast.
The collection features a clutch of cover versions, one each from heavy music’s pioneering icons; METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX. The duo’s take on Anthrax’s ‘Caught In A Mosh’ is revealed today, to coincide with the EP’s pre-order/pre-save here. In addition, the single’s sleeve artwork was designed by none other than ANTHRAX drummer, Charlie Benante.
Discussing the release, Josh Rand tells us: “Recording a Big F.O.U.R. cover EP is something that I have wanted to do for a very very long time, and last Fall I decided to finally do it with THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT. Without these four bands (METALLICA, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX, and SLAYER) my musical career wouldn’t be where it is today. In some ways you could say this project is paying homage to them or, how I see it, a return to where it all started in my parents house as a teenager trying to learn just a piece of the music. Each of the four songs that I picked were pivotal in my development as a musician. Whether it was learning the intro to ‘One’ on guitar, drums on ‘Symphony [Of Destruction]’ or bass lines in ‘Caught in A Mosh’. This EP was a true love and passion project for myself. I feel I captured the vibe and the spirit of the original but with THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT sound. Hopefully you hear it too!”
Rand continues; “‘Among the Living’ is a top three album of all-time for me, so covering ‘Caught in A Mosh’ was a no brainer for us to do.”
CasandraCarson also elaborates; “‘Caught In A Mosh’ has an infectious energy to it, and I’m absolutely stoked with how it turned out.” Meanwhile, ANTHRAX‘s own Frank Bello comments; “Casandra sounds great and Josh did an amazing job nailing all the parts on ‘Caught In A Mosh‘ – great job guys!”
Check out the track below.
Stylistically, THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT is a fluid combination of classic metal sensibility and Rand’s penchant for pushing the boundaries of contemporary heavy. Released last summer, THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT‘s debut self-titled EP can be streamed here, with physical CDs and vinyl options available exclusively through the band’s webstore or via the Nuclear Blast store.
Josh and Casandra’s debut single, ‘The Nothingness‘ was featured on several major playlists across streaming platforms including Rock Hard on Spotify, Breaking Metal on Apple Music, Break Through Rock on Amazon and Metal Radar on Deezer. ‘The Nothingness’ was also included on SiriusXM Octane’s Test Drive show on release.
Expect more from THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT in due course.

Multi-platinum, record-breaking band Shinedown have released the thought-provoking and cinematic music video forlead single “Planet Zero” – PRESS HERE to watch. The video arrives as “Planet Zero” hits #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart this week. The explosive single, the title track from the band’s seventh studio albumout April 22 on Atlantic Records, is Shinedown’s 17th #1 and sixth consecutive chart-topper, breaking a new record for the most #1s in the 40-year history of the chart.
Directed by Charles De Meyer, the video brings to life a glimpse of a dystopian future (complete with a menacing A.I. character named Cyren from the album’s interludes who we hear at the end of the music video) that warns of the dangerous dehumanizing consequences of cancel culture run rampant.
On Planet Zero, Shinedown is serving up an incisive look at some of society’s most critical issues, including the increasingly toxic division among those of differing ideologies, the need for honesty in our public discourse, and the corrosive effects of social media and cancel culture on mental health and humanity. The “Planet Zero” single rings the alarm with a cautionary warning that if we shut each other down, we risk losing empathy, respect for one another, and our ability to communicate and unify in a way that leads to actual progress and understanding.
Pre-order Planet Zero HERE.Each pre-order includes aninstant download of“Planet Zero.”
Over the last two decades, Shinedown have cemented their status as one of the most vital and forward-thinking powerhouses in modern rock. Their most ambitious and masterfully realized work to date, Planet Zerois a high-concept, ultra-vivid, viscerally charged saga. A critical yet optimistic look at the fractures and frays of a society that has undergone many challenges in the last few years, the album is part social commentary and part in-depth exploration of the human psyche. Produced by Shinedown’s Eric Bass (who also produced the band’s 2018 acclaimed album ATTENTION ATTENTION,)and recorded at Bass’ newly built Big Animal Studio in South Carolina,Planet Zeromatches its immersive world-building and takedown of authoritarianism with a deliberately unvarnished sound, and the album is spliced with interludes featuring Cyren, an insidious and unsettling robot character that appears throughout the Planet Zero journey. While a raw ferocity fuels much of Planet Zero on tracks like “The Saints of Violence and Innuendo,” “No Sleep Tonight,” and “America Burning,” there is also hope, triumph, and reminders that we all need one another on songs like “Daylight,”“Dysfunctional You,” and “A Symptom of Being Human.” After all, it is the band’s impassioned striving for unity that has long been at the heart of their creative output and deeply informed the making of Planet Zero. Not only a driving force for their songwriting, their humanitarian outlook led Shinedown to be one of the first artists to fundraise for non-profit humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, raising more than $400,000 with their “Atlas Falls” relief effort. Full Planet Zero tracklist is below.
Shinedownwill kick off The Revolution’s Live Tourbeginning April 1, propelled by the undeniable power of front man Brent Smith’s voice and their biggest stage production yet. Following this April and May run with special guests The Pretty Reckless and DIAMANTE, Shinedown will head to Daytona Beach for Welcome To Rockville 2022 where they’ll headline Saturday, May 21 alongside Guns N’ Roses and Rise Against. In June, Shinedown will head overseas for a UK and European run featuring festival appearances at Rock im Park and Rock am Ring in Germany, Download Festival in the UK,and HellFest in France along with select shows with Iron Maiden. The band will then embark on a run of Canadian dates beginning in July with support from Pop Evil and Ayron Jones. Full routing below and stay tuned for more touring announcements. For tickets and all show details, please visit www.shinedown.com.
Planet Zero follows Shinedown’s 2018 acclaimed album ATTENTION ATTENTION, which was certified RIAA Gold. The band recently brought the LP to life in a riveting feature film. A visual counterpart to the album’s narrative about a mental health journey and the resolve of the human spirit, the ATTENTION ATTENTION film weaves together the album’s 14 songs into a provocative and thought-provoking cinematic story that illuminates yet another dimension of Shinedown’s limitless creativity. PRESS HEREto watch the trailer. The film, directed by Bill Yukich (Beyoncé, Metallica, Wiz Khalifa) is available for viewing on digital and cable VOD in the U.S. and Canada via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, Comcast, Dish Network, Verizon Fios, and Mediacom, and is also available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD – PRESS HERE to purchase and watch. It will soon be available in other international territories.

Established in 2000, The Used was brought to life and have since released a collection of albums that pioneered the scene of emo rock. High energy live shows, gut wrenching relatable lyrics, and melodies that blended pop sensibility and hard rock was the perfect combination to make an everlasting impression on fans globally.
The rock icons released their ninth studio album, Heartwork (Deluxe), in 2021 via Big Noise. The extended album features 11 never-before-heard tracks that were all written during the original Heartwork (2020) sessions. A variety of collaborators including producer John Feldmann, co-writer Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), guest artists Travis Barker, Jason Aalon Butler (Fever 333), Caleb Shomo (Beartooth) and more helped deliver this now 27-track album that simultaneously showcases what made The Used emerge as one of the most prolific bands of the early 2000s as well as what has kept them at the forefront of the genre ever since. The band locked in #4 spots on both the Top Alternative and Top Hard Rock Album charts, #11 on Top Rock Album charts as well as landing in the Billboard Top 200 at the #87 spot.
Pixies – Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Paz Lenchantin – today announce “Human Crime,” a brand new digital-exclusive single and music video – and their first new release since September 2020 – both set for release on Wednesday, March 2 (Infectious/BMG). Written by Charles Thompson, the track was produced and mixed by Tom Dalgety, and recorded in Los Angeles in the fall of 2021. You can check out the “Human Crime” track here: https://pixies.ffm.to/humancrime.opr
Directed by Pixies’ Paz Lenchantin and filmed in the Los Angeles area at the San Pedro abandoned bunkers and Santa Monica’s Gold Diggers Bar, the “Human Crime” music video gives the viewer a glimpse into a nether world of fairies, situated just around that next corner, parallel to our dimension, rarely seen or experienced. As Lenchantin said, “The storyline is loosely based on an ‘inside joke’ between Charles and I about going on tour. How we go through a door from our reality state into the altered state of becoming and being a Pixie.”
After what had to be the longest stretch of time not touring since their 2004 reunion – courtesy of COVID – Pixies are getting ready to hit the road for the first time in more than two years. The band will kick off with a handful of sold-out, western U.S. warm-up dates, and then headline the Vive Latino 2022 festival in Mexico City before heading to the U.K. and Europe. In addition, Pixies will open the BBC 6 Music Festival on Friday, April 1 at The Great Hall in Cardiff, marking the first time the band has performed in the U.K. since 2019. BBC 6 Music Festival tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at https://pixies.ffm.to/live.opr For those who cannot make it to the show, Pixies’ performance will be broadcast live, worldwide on BBC Radio 6 via TuneIn, and on BBC TV (in the UK only) on the BBC Red Button through iPlayer.
As is the band’s norm, Pixies will draw from some 100 well-rehearsed songs from their extensive catalogue (and possibly a surprise or two) to play whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever order they want. Indeed, no two Pixies sets are ever alike. Confirmed 2022 Pixies dates are as follows, and tickets for all dates can be purchased at https://pixies.ffm.to/live.opr .

London rock band, PUPPY, have released heir incredible and introspective brand new single ‘Shame’ through Rude Records. Following on from both ‘The Kiss’ (currently zooming past 100,000 streams on Spotify) and the Brooklyn Vegan approved ‘…And Watched it Glow’, ‘Shame’ shows a different side to PUPPY, with its sombre and spooky tone.
“‘Shame’ is possibly our favorite song on the album (although they’re all stone-cold rippers). It marks a big step forward for us creatively in our minds because you’ve still got all the hallmarks of our “sound” (sweet harmony guitars, sad boi lyrics), but set against these big snappy groove between the drums and bass. We wanted you to be able to blast it out your low rider with the windows down whilst analyzing your life choices and maybe crying a bit.” – PUPPY
The song is taken from the band’s upcoming new album ‘Pure Evil’, which will be released on May 6 through Rude Records. The album is now available for pre-order and pre-save here: https://music.ruderecords.com/pureevil
‘Pure Evil’ is an album created, like so much music and art the last few years, from a forced upon circumstance. Whilst obviously not influencing any of it in any way, the current pandemic has certainly created a specific path for PUPPY and this brilliant album, for good and bad. Vocalist and guitarist Jock Norton explains a bit about marrying creative drive with a global health meltdown, “We had to dig fairly deep to find the purpose in doing any of it, because the global narrative was rightly shifted to more important things. But I think to be honest that sort of introspection had filtered through into other aspects of our lives, so being able to record this album sort of gave us a bit of purpose and something to cling on to. Ultimately for us we wanted to feel engaged and productive and useful, even if it was only for ourselves and each other. Like I said, there’d be times when it would feel a bit meaningless, but getting to a place where you’re comfortable with that and happy to let the work be its own reward really helped us grow as a band and as people I think.”
Summing up this wonderful new album, and the struggle to create and carry on during all of *this*, Jock puts it neatly and perfectly, “To us the whole thing feels like a time capsule of this weird limbo period and I think that comes across on the album, or at least I hope it does. Postcards from the edge or whatever.”
